Summer means longer visits than the school weekend visits.

I am exhausted to say the least and it's left no time to create anything. But I've been busy painting and recycling furniture from other rooms to use in the Creating room, as my intention is always to re-purpose or recycle if possible. And I went for a totally different color scheme from my usual black and white. But so far I love it.

Next Thursday my ODD and I are off the Creating Keepsakes Convention in Valley Forge, Pa, as we go every year and the days there are a welcome relief from the daily routine. Looking forward to some new classes being offered for a change.

Then on my return my room will be completed, supplies will be replenished and creating will be started.

Hopefully I'll post come pictures of the room, photographer I'm not but my son in law gave me a great lamp to use and lights so that should help. Wish I had taken before pictures. Crap.

Imagine my surprise.....

Wow! It was a huge undertaking but I think I finally have it pretty much how I want it. Except for a new table but that is on the wist list for now..I'll make do with a antique drop leaf table that I stole from the living room. It took much longer than I had expected due to health issues but that is another story. I got some more very bad news in that department. Trying to deal with it mentally and physically and what course of action to take. One requires major surgery with no guarantee of a positive outcome.

So now my plan is to make a list of two projects every day. One in the morning and one in the afternoon and they must be completed before going to bed unless they are large projects. Or one large project each day.

I came to the conclusion that the more free time you have the less you get accomplished as you just tell yourself..I can always do it tomorrow. When I worked 60 hours a week I accomplished far more than I do now that I am home 24/7.

I read on a girls blog that she decided to make a list of 20 things to needed to accomplish everyday. They did not need to be huge projects just everyday things but they needed to be done before bedtime. So I cased her idea and that is my new game plan.

I'm hoping to put this in effect on Monday. No more slacking off.

This is a page from a Art Journal I'm working on...

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-CpHzSDiUvkw/TekmDRBbRpI/AAAAAAAAAZ4/AvRf7si5jZs/s200/Art%2BJournal%2BSweets_A.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5614060248044881554" />

No excuse....got sidetracked

Just that time of the year....the brain gets sidetracked with projects and spring cleaning both of the mind and house. Have been purging everything in sight but in random order which makes no sense.

Was doing fantastic working on projects than hit a brick wall and now am blank but hoping that will change with the art canvas project I started with my daughter on Wednesday.

Have a great day.

Busy week....

Has been a busy week. My grand daughter, age 13 came for 4 days which was great fun and we has a blast. Spent hours stamping and coloring images with watercolor markers and Copic's...she is getting very good and loves it. Wish she could have stayed longer but her time must be shared with her three brothers....the masters of all things Lego. One will arrive tomorrow. By Sunday I will need a vacation or a maid...one or the other.

Have been working on a Art Journal which I have never done before...rather painful as I am not a "artist". But I am determined not to give up and to all 52 pages then hand bind them into a journal.

Watch this amazing video today...new stamps and great technique using Distress Ink and nibs. Thought I would share and pass along.

Enjoy!

Music Saves The Soul Saturday

Sat here with a blank slate trying to come up with a "dance" song for today.

That just wasn't going to happen...I don't listen to that type of music nor hip hop.

This is my happy, I need to move around and clean the house song....

Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by....

Music Saves My Soul Saturday

This is my first time taking part in this and I'm so glad I found it.

I can't fathom a day without music. I live and breath music.

The first band I run to when the soul needs to be soothed is Pearl Jam. Have seen them more times than I can remember and every time is simply amazing.

Hard to pick a favorite but this one is amongst them....Me and my partner in crime (better known as my daughter) never miss them. Somewhere in the crowd....we are there.

Very long story but 2 years ago I had a near deadly reaction to Abilify/Celexa and they weren't sure I would ever walk. Five weeks in the hospital and 2 1/2 of forcing my legs to move. Months with a walker and now a cane but I can walk. My 2 goals while I laid in the hospital...as both were fast approaching. Be able to see Pearl Jam and go to the Creating Keepsakes Convention. I did both with my partner in crime.

ProMarker Giveaway

There's an amazing giveaway over at The Frugal Crafter (http://thefrugalcrafter.wordpress.com) and you have not one but two chances to win.

She is giving away a set of 12 ProMarkers and you decide what color package you want.

How crazy is that.

So stop by and leave a comment with your color choice . My health issues continue to be a issue and all are caused because of my near death reaction to Abilify/Celexa. I continue to walk with a cane as the strength in my muscles never nor will returned to 100%, on the last test it was about 67%.

But enough of that...life goes on. You either give up or go on.

I just created a scrap room out of my second bedroom. Though it won't last long as I anticipate moving within the next few months. But it looks great and their a ton of space for everything plus a place for my laptop.

Me and my daughter who is my creating partner in crime has decided to have a weekly challenge. So we every other month one of us comes up with 4 project ideas and you have the month of complete them. It's been great fun so far and 8 super projects.

We started doing Art Journaling which is really interesting and a whole new experience which includes mixed media but also gives us the chance to us up are huge scrapbook supply.

I'm a horrid with a camera but am going to try to photograph so of my projects after I build a light box. My son in law is bring me a light which will help also.

My first attempt using Copic Markers. Spent the morning at my daughters house with the two youngest until Alicia came to pick me up. Then we went food shopping which I hate doing, went to my house and had pizza then took a walk down on the boardwalk. It was great to see the ocean and beach after all this time...it was peaceful and warm. Didn't expect it to be so warm, as it's still winter here. After our walk we went back to my house, where she had some surprises for me. A set of stamps that are so cute, a Healthy Heart magazine and all the supplies needed to make an exploding box. I had never saw one before it was just wonderful. So we spent the afternoon cutting out the pieces which is very time consuming but worth it. We were getting tired so we took a break and had homemade cake which I had baked the day before. White cake with vanilla buttercreme icing..yummy!

Then it was time for her to leave...both of us had a headache and she was exhausted from work and not sleeping.

I still can't get use to being by myself and I'm not sure why. Before my illness, I had lived alone for many years and it never bothered me. Oh well, I'll have to get use to it sooner or later.

Today I am finishing my exploding box and hopefully completing my thank you cards.

I was looking through some pictures and came across the pic of my first Book of Shadows. I am not a great photographer, so I think it might not show up right. Its really pretty and I love the colors. Not sure why it comes out looking blue as it's actually deep purple and the images are black and white. I'll have to play around with the camera and see if I can't get better images.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_5kZ_1oT4b2E/SabZYiszVfI/AAAAAAAAAN0/WJ7A2RJnrD0/s320/100_0067.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5307168226557515250" />

Time for lunch and a cup of hot tea.

Busy, busy, busy!

Spent yesterday afternoon creating thank you cards for all the people that were so nice while I was in the hospital especially the nurses at the hospital. Got about five completed and they turned out better than I expected seeings that I haven't created anything for months.

Last night I went to my daughters to spend the night...the grandkids missed me plus she has to work a double shift...her third in a row.

Came home around five...fixed pasta and played catch up online. I am mentally and physically exhausted today...not sure why but I am. I am tired of not being able to do what I always did. Hell...I can't even get a bathe without somebody here.

Ok...going to have hot tea, a snack and take a nap. I didn't sleep but about a hour last night. I couldn't figure out why until about a hour ago when I realized that I had forgotten to take my sleeping medication. My eyes are really tired and feel like they have sand in them.

Will finish cards tomorrow.

Settling In.....

I realized last night, after my daughter left to go home, how much I missed my grandchildren and having people around. Yes, its nice to have the house to yourself and the peace and quiet that comes with it but after a week of silence, it get's too you. At my daughters house with two adults, four kids and the constant flow of friends coming in and out there was always something going on.

As I still can't leave the house without another person being here, I am bound to the apartment until somebody stops over or comes for a visit. Strange to live in an apartment complex with 13 other families and not one stop by other than the lady who found me on the floor, almost dead.

Well...I decided that I should work on a project each day. Nothing big or exhausting but things that need to be taken care of since I was gone for months. I polished all the furniture, cleaned out the kitchen closets, rid the kitchen of items that haven't been used or won't ever get used again, tidied my desks, arranged the china cabinet, cleaned the bathroom and the kitchen.

Yesterday Alicia came and we had a nice day. She took me out to lunch for burgers and fries. I'm not much of a burger person but these were to die for. We stopped off at Walmart and I picked up a few things that I needed then off to Micheals to see what was new in yarn and in the scrapbook department. After that we went to Dunkin Donuts for coffee and of course, donuts. Then back to the house to take care of a few chores that I needed help with, like the box that needs to be connected to the TV if you don't have cable, which I don't. The trash needed to be taken out and a weeks worth of mail sorted through. The mail was nasty grams for hospital and ambulance bills that my insurance or charity care would/won't cover. Almost $9,000 worth and I'm clueless as to how to pay for them.

Then I clean out the laptop of documents and images that I didn't need anymore and transfered the ones that I wanted to keep into my Photobucket account.

Today I played with crocheting. Alicia wants me to create a afghan for one of her Assistant Managers whose baby is due late May. I haven't crocheted for atleast ten years, so I've been practicing my stitches. I also was playing with a Pagan Amulet that is quick to crochet using a thin string type yarn.

Talked to Brody today...I miss my little man so much. This is the best picture that has been taken of him in a long time. Funny, he is naked except for shawl and it's just too cute.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 170px; height: 309px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_5kZ_1oT4b2E/SZ8atVIloTI/AAAAAAAAAM8/LpQgvRcTGck/s320/m_849be1026b7044c2a937e080298e979c.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5304988252135334194" />

Ian can't wait until its all right for him to come and stay. He wants donuts and jelly beans. Hopefully in the next few weeks, I'll be strong enough for him to come for a over night visit. The babies will have to wait, as I can't pick them up, as the
upper body strength and my balance are still not what they should be.

Tomorrow I am going to work on creating thank you cards for the awesome people that were so wonderful while I was in the hospital and at Renee's recovering. It will be my first crafting since the summer, before I got sick.

Being home.....

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_5kZ_1oT4b2E/SZsEA3fnzqI/AAAAAAAAAMs/mjb0ciGS1M4/s320/how-beautiful.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5303837399101984418" />
Yesterday was my first day to be home alone after being in the hospital and recuperating at my daughters. As my previous blog states I have been hospitalized in November and am still in the recovery zone. Managing to get around with the aid of a cane or the walker.

It is so strange to be here...the first day it felt like I was in a strangers home instead of my own. That feeling disappeared the next morning after a good nights sleep in my own bed. There really is no place like home...though it's a tad lonely after being surrounded by people 24 hours a day.

My grand daughter came to stay with me the first three days....it was so much have to have her her even though she was so sick she could barely get off the sofa.

Taking it slowly and not doing too much of anything. Yesterday I gave the kitchen a cleaning...nothing major. Just wiped everyday down to take the dusty layer off. The kitchen smells so nice now. It took all day, as I would did a small space, rest and then continue.

Today I tackled the dining room and did it the same way...dust, rest, sweep then rest and I just finished it about a hour ago.

If I don't keep busy I'll go nuts or sleep all day, so it's best to find some projects to work on.

Tomorrow I'm going to do the living room, that might take two days though.

Over the weekend, I want to create some cards to send to those people that were so incredible to me while I've been away. First and foremost my neighbor who, despite what she thinks, more than likely saved my life.

The weather has been strange...warm for this time of the year. I guess spring will be here before we know it. Chances of showers or flurries later tonight. I would love to look out the sliding glass door and see a ton of snow but I doubt that will happen anytime soon. Though beings I can't get down the two flights of stairs by myself, I would welcome warmer weather....that way I can at least sit out on the balcony and enjoy the fresh air.

I can not wait unitl I'm strong enough to walk to the beach....that will be the best day of all these months.

Think I'll get out my card books and try to come up with some creation or maybe the Gocco machine.

Going home...

Finally I am going to be going home. I have not seen home since November 4th when I had a rare reaction to the medication Abilify. I'll post my blog about it later today but if you know anyone who takes this drug please have them read my story...you could possible save a persons life. I could have died from the reaction or never walked again. I still can't walk without the aid of walker or cane, can no go up and down the stairs without someone helping me nor bath.

Insanity Week

Jacklyn and Ian start school this week. I can't believe she's in fifth grade and that Ian is old enough to start school. He's so excited about making new friends. Worried about Jacklyn, as she doesn't make friend easily.

School also started for me and for some reason I'm not looking forward to classes this semester. Mainly because I actually have to go to the school for a class..and that just doesn't float my boat.

No time to do much of anything with Etsy for the next week, have to get into a routine of juggling kids, work, the house and school and tossing in Etsy. I really like to get Mysteria up and running.

I hope people that read my blog understand that this is not just about Etsy, I don't have time to keep two blogs with all that's going on.

They are finally getting settled into the new house. Alicia is sick as shit.

Yes

Idol! Billy Idol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went to see him play at the House of Blues last Saturday night and just as the last two times, he blew me away. The voice is still strong, he's still hot and never missed a word.

I've never been in one room with so many people at one time.

The set list was amazing and disappointed that I can't remember the name of a ballad he sang. I've searched everywhere and can't find it. Though I did sit and watch two hours of him on You Tube.

Stu Stevens is freaking amazing. Now I understand why Bill wanted to see him. He makes the guitar sing..............!

The show was 2 1/2 long and jammed packed, including Billy changing outfits for almost every song.

Busy, busy, busy!

This last week has been super busy. A few custom orders outside of Etsy kept me busy for days.

The kids moved yesterday which was hectic and insane. Three adults and four kids trying to move a houseful of furnishing. Needly to say the kids didn't make it an easy chore. But somehow we managed to get everything moved yesterday and today. Now they are busy with decorating and putting life in order. This is not going to happen quickly, with Renee back to work after hurting her back.

I'm keeping the two youngest ones until Thursday night so at least they won't be under foot. Hoping they will nap each day, so I can work on some projects.

Classes start next Friday, so I have to pick up my loan check and book stipend on Friday morning. Then off to order my books. Going to hang out with Alicia, then off to a surprise party for Renee's birthday and maybe go see Bill play.

I just finished another custom job, this one for Beth and both of us are pleased with the outcome. It's for her blog and website. Just visited her blog and I think the header and buttons look marvelous. I'm in anticipation of receiving the afghan that she is making for me. What a great sale this was.

Roo is making great progress after 11 months of watching him not gain weight or do the things that a baby his age should do. He's gained weight, is crawling like crazy and is very very vocal.

Two weeks until classes start again and I'm dreaded it and looking forward to it at the same time. Six classes then four to go and I'll be finished with my Digital Design degree. Then what...I'm so use to taking these classes online it will be like going thru withdrawal.

Concerning about Zach as I haven't heard from him in over a month and that's not like him at all. Hope all is well with him. On the other hand, got bad news about a online friend who is in a bad mental state. God sometimes girls can be so mean...and his was at the top of the list.

Happy for the kids, they found a fantastic house and it's near by. Twenty nine days to go and they can move in.

Reilly Roo

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_5kZ_1oT4b2E/SJ4YWjjjklI/AAAAAAAAALk/XKiqMTGjn08/s320/100_0152.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5232646592831656530" />
I can't believe Reilly is going to be a year old on Monday. He's still so tiny...all of about 11 pounds but he's doing better. Gaining some strength in his little legs and arms. Waiting for the results from the muscle biopsy that he had a few weeks ago...I think there are four more weeks to go.

Finish the black and the gold tapestry ritual skirts...wow! They are gorgeous but took forever to hem by hand. Now I know why people hem by machine but I think it always looks better and more professional to hem by hand. Ponders if that should be added into the cost. Still have to arrive at prices per type of fabric. I want to have fabrics for those who can't afford the "normal" pricey skirts/corsets. So basically I'm sticking to heavy weight cotton like broadcloth and making one or two in more expensive fabrics. Each skirt takes 6 yards of fabric so no matter what fabric I use, they are going to be cheap. Need to find a wholesale fabric dealer. Seems like the black should be around $49 and the gold around $95.

Home

Back home from the convention and it was a super weekend...away from everything and everybody. No phones, no kids...no bills.

All 8 classes were amazing. Didn't finish any project in class but between yesterday and today, all are complete except the mosaic one. Need to locate my core backed ruler for that one.

Going to work on getting Mysteria's up and running. Hopefully will have more luck with this one than with the graphic design shoppe. Plan is to have a sample of everything up loaded by next Friday, at the latest.
