The £8m contract to refurbish Liverpool's underground stations has been awarded to Morgan Sindall.</div>

Work will take place at the subsurface platforms at James Street, Lime Street and Central Stations. This will include replacing wall claddings to tunnels, escalators and passageways, retiling floors and platforms and replacing three escalators at Central Station.</div>
