The Starting of Aviation Life

This is my very first blog to post something about the starting of my aviation life. I’m joining KLIFA on 22^nd of Feb. 2010 as in batch of MAL 08, there are 9 cadet pilot in this class and I’m the only Chinese while there’s another only Indian guy in the class, so the rest of them are Malay and there is 1 girl in our class too.

Well, I’m here for about 5 days already and I’m travel all along the way from Kedah to Johor, but is by flight la, not bus, thanks god, hahaha… So at 10am I reach KLIFA [pronounce as KLI (CLI)-FA] and I’m the first 1 to register as MAL08 cadet pilot, because my flight reach here at early morning 8am and I’m hanging around the airport for nothing, quite a boring place actually.

For the first day we reported our self, we had been told to cut our hair short at no.3, which seem to be like a military but just for the very first beginning only, then in future we can get whatever hairstyle we want and then we pay RM78 for our epaulette, tie, airport pass and nametag as well. Here everything we talk we learn is all about discipline, we have to be on time, we are not allow to skip class and there is 90% of attendance is require for us to sit for the DCAT exam otherwise we will bar from it, btw we have to wish all the instructor wherever and whenever we meet them and also we will having a morning parade, which all of us (new students) will be the break commander, so we have to be at school at least 15min before the parade starts. So after a 9 months gap in between MAL 07 and MAL 08, as told by the instructor, we won’t face a problem of queuing when during the flying phrase as what the senior facing now. I’m glad to hear that because previously I heard about KLIFA is facing a big problem in their flying phrase, so hopefully all will be going smooth all the way. Otherwise we will ask our classmate ZAID (an Iraqi) to sponsor an aircraft for us to fly while flying phrase, lol… Joking only if Zaid u saw this… =)

And starting from this MAL08 batch, we will doing JAA paper instead of CAA paper, so there is no more repeated question as like CAA paper in previous time, which they will always recycle their questions, so we have to work hard on our ground school to pass the DCAT exam, and wish us all the best...

INTI UC Diploma in Pharmacy (DPHM)

Anyone who plan to do their Diploma in Pharmacy in INTI-UC (Nilai Main Campus), please think twice before you enroll into this course. Alright, for myself I'm INTI pharmacy student, but my result are not really good compare to others, but it doesn't means that i can't comment anything bad about INTI pharmacy right??

As nowadays you can see there are so many advertisement about NewINTI, and it's make you feel that INTI seem like improving a lots right? Yes, there is a lots of improving for now and in future, but not all yet, like our hostel internet connection which managed by EBB (extreme broadband) is so terrible, our internet connection always disconnected and sometimes hardly for us to search information for doing our assignment.

As my topic for today is about INTI Dip. in Pharmacy, I found a topic from lowyat forum with the topic title "INTI pharmacy student are worrying, where to go after diploma??" and this is the link "http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/836675". One of my classmate post this a year ago to get someone lead us INTI Pharmacy Student, and this is what she wrote:

I m a student from INTI-UC,currently taking diploma in pharmacy..all of us are reali going crazy and headache for deciding how to continue for our future study???Since Inti have no degree for us to study... & we ask for many university whether to accept us ..unfortunately there are only a little choice for us..

1. USCI - do not accept dilpoma student
2. Master skill - just get started their degree in pharmacy but heard from my senior even the first batch student taking that course aso not encouraging us to go there....and we have no confidence for that college..HOW???
3. AIMST - accept dilpoma student who get cgpa 3.8 or above and i have no idea about this college...dunno it is good anot...
4. IMU & segi college -currently waiting their reply whether they accept us anot but chances are low & it's very very expensive.....
5. Oversea (UK & australia) - super expensive ..cant afford
and the main problem that make us ANGRY is someone in INTI promise us will have the degree programme on jan 2008 but ...this is wat we get???waiting and hopeless.... until we voice up to the top top ppl in inti only now they are doing something for us ..BUT...the answer we can oni get is "degree in inti 50% 50% oni''
....and yet ...our first batch students ad graduated...and one of d gal is still waiting for inti degree...and we...are going to graduated next yr august....wat should we do??

So far INTI told us they will launch their degree since year 2007 and next year will be 2010, and there is still empty promise made by INTI, we really don't know who to blame, just pity those graduated pharmacy student need to start all over again from year 1 instead of year 2.

Did you see "Degree Year 2 @ INTI", how dare they post this when they don't have degree program for pharmacy, this is really crap!!! Alright, there are *term & condition apply*, but what is the term & condition? They don't even let us know anything about the T&C but they keep on persuade those innocent student to enrol INTI DPHM course. If you really plan to take pharmacy as you future career, come INTI and take either A-level or SAM or just any foundation in science which eligible to proceed to Bachelor in Pharmacy but don't take Dip. Pharm, because you will really waste your time and money. Think twice before u enroll Pharmacy course in INTI..!!!

p/s: Please do comment to let others know what is your opinion about INTI pharmacy and hope they will improve for this.

Aspiring Pilot

PILOT

What will come out from your mind when you see/hear this word? Is like seeing them wearing a cool pilot uniform and walking with a luggage around airport, and the pretty air steward follow at the back? Haha, that’s just a part of the coolness of pilot. For them flying is a big challenge, to fly an aircraft ably and safely is a huge achievement. Pilot are not easy to be, so as their physically and mentally are needed to be strong enough to fly an aircraft safely. Flying can be fun but somehow safety must always need to be considering at the first.

And my dreams are always wanna be a pilot, I had started to change my mind from being a pharmacist to pilot as I found that I’m not the person who can really stay in pharmacy for just dispensing drugs to patient because I just like to be freedom as like a bird flying in the sky, because being a pilot you will have chances to travel all around the country when you working, this is a part of my interest, I’m not saying that being a pharmacist life is bored, just that not into me.

Why I choose to be a pharmacist before I choose to be a pilot. There is actually a long story but to cut it short, I would like to say that I really had lots of dreams, which to be doctor at first, then changed my mind to be a pharmacist(because I love chemistry) and now and this is really my last dream and I’m sure that I can make it!! Which is PILOT, yup, pilot is my dream, and I’m aspiring to be pilot someday. Nothing is impossible as long as you work hard and put on all your effort to do something, I’m sure there will be an outcome for your hard work!!

And here I wanna say sorry to my parent who always support me, which I had told them that I will become a pharmacist someday while that I’m pursuing my diploma in pharmacy in INTI-UC, but so bad INTI pharmacy are not really recognize by most of the University in Malaysia, most of my classmate who continuing their degree in any University in Malaysia or even at UK, they need to start all over again from 1^st year, usually once u had done your diploma and you will straight proceed into degree 2^nd year right, but for those INTI DPHM student, they aren’t! I heard that’s because of some University/College politic and the only University which allow INTI Pharmacy student to proceed straight to 3^rd year but not 2^nd year are located at Bandung (Indonesia), but not much of student want to precede their degree over there due to some reason.

Not to blame anyone, parts of that had change my mind to become a pilot too, as being a pilot you will get a high paid for your salary but then that’s what your hard work. And during April of 2009, I get an approval letter from DCA

and I did my Class 1 medical examination at MAS Medical Center, Subang Terminal and I passed,

that’s really my 1^st step to getting nearer to my dream, I’m almost eligible to be pilot as I meet all the requirement, but then I didn’t straight apply and enroll to any flying school as I planned to complete my diploma in INTI 1^st, so I dragging until now, last week I just sent out my application form to the flying school, and so far the management people had told me to wait for the offer letter to be sent to me in another 1 week time, I’m so excited for that, I really really hope that everything going smooth and most probably I will be going for cadet pilot training start from next year January, time pass fast, hope that someday you will see me flying as your Captain with the safety journey, =)

So fasten your seatbelt and get ready to wait for me. The very 1^st aim of my airline company is Air Asia. I believe that nothing is impossible, as long as you work hard; the luck will come to you, so strive for your dream.

INTI-UC had change!!

As we all INTI student know that the internet connection in INTI was always so slow, even worst than the dial-up connection. When come to the day time, they transfer mostly of the internet speed to academic block, so means that is more worst than you what you espect!!!

But since we always complain and complain to INTIMA, Dr. Sia, and Dr Lee them, and finally INTI come with a brand new connection, which is the wireless access for student around INTI campus, the network name is INTI-Student so you no need to login with your id anymore but just with this password only "Student@inti200960/61". This wifi connection is faster than your house streamyx or Wimax, unbelievable right?? Thx INTI a lots, lolz~~~

Beside that, INTI also doing some renewation at Dining Hall here, bofore that the dining hall outlook is like

Had u been travel to langkawi island?? I've been there for twice d in this year, so kinda familiar with all those tourism places. Langkawi is located at Kedah state which is a duty free island and allow you to enjoy in a very cheap price of liquor, chocolate and also cigarette as well. Sound so nice with those liquor, beer and chocolate...

There's two type of traveling package in this island, Budget or Luxurious type. It's actually depanding on how much you willing to spend. Or if u can combine both package, then you will save more and enjoy more.

My very Fisrt blog

Well, finally I have my own blog. Sure you guys are wondering what make me come here to write my blog, wondering of me right!!~~ I'm just an ordinary guys like you all, like to share something interest of my life.

So let's introduce myself 1st, my name is Chow Fong (c.F.c), I'm from Kedah, Alor Setar, still a student and I have a lots of dreams which is to become a Pilot or Pharmacist, and even Pianist too and many many.

Guess what dude, I'm proud that I'm an ex-swimmer for Kedah Swim Team, study at SMJK Keat Hwa at year 2001-2005, and now I'm a former student at INTI University College, and soon I'll joining flying school to train as cadet pilot. As a pilot is my dream since when I'm in high school time.

So this is just a small introduction of mine, and I will update my blog soon =)
