Baby Sold on Facebook

A businessman in India was recently caught as he attempted to buy a stolen baby on Facebook.

The man paid 800,000 rupes, or approximately $14,749, for the child. The kidnapped baby was being sold because of actions taken by the newborn’s grandfather.

According to local authorities, Feroz Khan kidnapped his grandson from the boy’s mom in Ludhiana, Punjab, India The grandfather told his daughter that her child was stillborn. The grandfather then sold the baby to a nurse who sold the child to a lab technician.

That lab technician, Gurpreet Singh, followed up the kidnapping by posting a picture of the 3-day-old boy on Facebook. Eventually, businessman Amit Kumar offered to purchase the newborn.

The baby’s mother became suspicious when her father gave her some of the cash from the sale.
Shortly after realizing what had happened, police tracked down and arrested Khan, his accomplice, and both of the hospital employees who initially purchased the newborn child.

Kumar is also facing charges for his part in the purchase of the kidnapped baby.

According to police, Khan sold the baby because he wanted to arrange a second marriage for his daughter. The girl’s dad believed she would not find a new husband if she was already raising a child. The child’s father abandoned his family before the birth.

Khan and the two hospital employees could face up to seven years in prison if found guilty.
Sadly, this is not the first time we have reported on a child being sold on Facebook. As previously stated, a mom in the United States tried to sell her two children for a measly $4,000.

One prison in Venezuela has turned its penal system into a party system. The notorious San Antonio prison on the Venezuelan island of Margarita opened last Thursday a nightclub for inmates compete with lights, DJs and even strippers in a purported attempt reduce violence among inmates.
Admission to the so-called “Yacht Club” is free for inmates and their guests, usually invited through social networks and smart phones. Besides the scantily clad dancers and booming beats, the 600-person capacity club also has art, a light show and -- something not common in Venezuelan prisons -- air conditioning. Rape Victim Sentenced To 100 Lashes

A 15-year-old alleged rape victim in the Maldives has been sentenced to 100 lashes and eight months under house arrest for engaging in premarital sex.

The girl admitted having consensual sex with a man in an incident unrelated to the rape.

Sex outside of marriage is illegal under the Islamic law of the island nation.

Police were investigating allegations that the girl had been raped by her stepfather when they uncovered the evidence.
The girl's stepfather is facing 25 years in prison for the rape and allegedly killing a baby conceived from it.
Despite condemnation from the UN and Amnesty International, court officials have said the flogging will be carried out once the girl turns 18.
The Maldivian government has urged the courts to show leniency towards the girl, describing her as "traumatised" by the rape.
It is not known whether the her partner will also be charged with having premarital sex.
Last September, a 16-year-old Maldivian girl was sentenced to public flogging after she confessed to premarital sex. Her partner received a 10 year prison sentence.
The Indian Ocean nation is home to almost 330,000 people, and all of its citizens belong to the Muslim faith.

The public practise of any religion other than Islam is prohibited under Maldivian law.

Janet Jackson, 46, and Qatari businessman, Wissam Al Mana, tied the knot last year, the couple's rep confirmed to PEOPLE today, Monday, Feb. 25 2013.

"The rumours regarding an extravagant wedding are simply not true," they told ET Online, which broke the official wedding news. "Last year we were married in a quiet, private, and beautiful ceremony."

The couple adds, "Our wedding gifts to one another were contributions to our respective favourite children's charities."

They further stated:

"We would appreciate that our privacy is respected and that we are allowed this time for celebration and joy," the two said in their statement, signing off, "With love, Wissam and Janet"

This is a third marriage for Jackson, 46, who was previously wed to James DeBarge and René Elizondo, Jr.

I guess congratulations are in order. :-)

Massachusetts boy's rap videos spark child abuse investigation

Massachusetts authorities say they have lodged child abuse and neglect complaints against a man whose 9-year-old son appears in sexually suggestive rap videos posted online.

Police in Brockton said Sunday they are also informing state child welfare officials about the videos that feature fourth-grader Luie Rivera Jr., who goes by the stage name Lil Poopy.

The videos show the boy slapping a woman's buttocks, engaging in sexually suggestive dances and glorifying drug use and materialism.

Lt. David Dickinson told The Enterprise that the videos are "a bit much for a 9-year old."
Police started investigating after a feature story on the boy appeared in the paper.
His father, Luis Rivera, said his son is simply acting and not doing anything wrong. He said he plans to contact his lawyer.

MC Hammer arrested

Rapper MC Hammer launched a string of tweets Saturday with his side of the story two days after he was arrested in northern California for allegedly obstructing an officer.

Among his tweets, Hammer said, apparently referring to the arresting officer, that he was asked whether he was on parole or probation before the man tried to pull him out of his vehicle Thursday night.

Police in Dublin, east of Oakland, said Hammer was in a vehicle with expired registration and he was not the registered owner.

"After asking Hammer who the registered owner was he became very argumentative and refused to answer the officer's questions," police spokesman Herb Walters wrote Saturday evening in an e-mail to CNN. I wasn't there but I think it's BS cos Hammer said he was profiled by the officer and I believe him.

Hammer began his tweets Saturday with "chubby elvis looking dude was tapping on my car window, I rolled down the window and he said 'Are you on parole or probation?'

Oscar Pistorius' brother arrested for murder

Carl Pistorius is accused in the 2010 death of a female motorcyclist, Pistorius family attorney Kenny Oldwage said. Culpable homicide refers to "unlawful negligent killing," South African police say.

Prosecutors say Carl Pistorius was driving recklessly in Vanderbijlpark, South Africa, when he crashed with the motorcyclist in the daytime. Oldwage disputes allegations that his client was driving recklessly and said the motorcyclist rode into Carl Pistorius' vehicle.

"Carl deeply regrets the accident. Blood tests conducted by the police at the time proved that he had not been under the influence of alcohol, confirming that it was a tragic road accident after the deceased collided with Carl's car," a statement from the Pistorius family said.

The motorcyclist died in a hospital a couple of days after the accident, Oldwage said.

Carl Pistorius was initially scheduled to go on trial Thursday -- during the middle of his brother's four day bail hearing.

The trial has been rescheduled for the end of March. His case could be over before his brother's murder trial is scheduled to start in June.

Carl Pistorius was a fixture at his younger brother's bail hearing last week, handing Oscar tissues as the 26-year-old sobbed uncontrollably in court.

Michael Jackson’s eldest son Prince has landed the plum job as a special correspondent at "Entertainment Tonight." During an interview with his new employer, Prince said he's "looking to become well-rounded as a producer, director, screenwriter, and actor.”

The 16-year-old announced his new gig on the show during a segment Monday night, and went on to interview James Franco, Zach Braff and director Sam Raimi about their upcoming film Oz the Great and Powerful.

Prince Michael also played the role of the interviewee with Entertainment Tonight’s Brooke Anderson, his new colleague, who asked about his own relationship with his father.

“My father raised me right,” the younger Jackson replied when Anderson commented on his maturity. He went on to talk about how he often watched films with his father with the sound off, in order to better understand the moviemaking.

Kendra Wilkinson Baskett couldn't wait to do "Celebrity Wife Swap." Then she found out who she was swapping with: Kate Gosselin, single mom to eight kids.

Kendra, who's appeared in "Playboy" and on "The Girls Next Door," is married to former NFL-er Hank Baskett and lives with him, their four-year-old son Hank IV, and a fulltime housekeeper and nanny, Rosa. Hank is very involved around the house and likes to cook for Kendra and set up her girls' nights.

When Yahoo! spoke to Kendra, she sounded positive about the experience, saying she "got so excited" about going on the show, because "I love the feeling of stepping out of your comfort zone and doing something off. I think that's the way to live your life, is to be thrown off a little bit." She was into the idea of living "in someone else's life" for a week; she's "all about the social experiments."

But as experiments go, a week with eight children is practically the Manhattan Project, and when Kendra found out whose house she was headed to, she "lost it. I wanted to run out."

She wasn't the only one, evidently; Kendra reported that "there was some tension and drama" between Kate Gosselin and Hank. She didn't want to speak for them, because she wasn't there, but it sounds like Kate doesn't entirely approve of the Basketts' laid-back lifestyle, or what Kendra describes as her "Southern California" attitude. (Or, we're guessing, of Kendra herself, who laughed that Kate didn't get "why a woman like me deserves a man like that.") We'll have to find out whether Kate passed any judgments, but we know Hank didn't sell Kendra out. "All I know is, my husband said, 'I stuck up for you.'"

Meanwhile, back at the Gosselins', Kendra was determined to make a good impression. Calling that time a "whirlwind," she told us her goal for the week: "I truly, truly wanted those eight kids to really respect me." Not to think of Kendra as a second mom, necessarily, but it took "a lot of work" to get the kids to trust her.

She's a fighter, though, she says, and she kept at it. She wanted the experience to be good for everyone, and she wanted "these kids to know me, and to know my heart" -- not least because of the trash-talk they might have heard about her posing nude, "'she's stupid,' you know, all that bad stuff that's about me."

"Every minute on the dot is something that they have to do," Kendra told us. "I was just thrown into the deep end ... like, 'Here, go cook for eight kids, now! Go, go!' I'm like, 'What? What? What do I do, where do I start?'" But she learned a lot, and she says we'll "like the outcome.

Kindergarten Teacher and School Nurse arrested in Murder for Hire Plot

A Virginia elementary school teacher and a school nurse are facing charges in what police are calling a murder-for-hire plot.

Angela Nolen, a 47-year-old kindergarten teacher, was arrested Wednesday for allegedly plotting to hire a hit man to kill her ex-husband for $8,000. According to police, Nolen's friend 37-year-old Cathy Bennett, a school nurse, worked with Nolen to find a hit man.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, Nolen's plan unraveled when she gave a police officer, working under cover as a hit man, an up-front fee of $4,000 to kill her ex-husband, 63-year-old Paul Strickler.

Strickler, who is the father of Nolen's 7-year-old daughter, told the Roanoke Times he had been working on a deal to sell his house to Nolen.

"If I was dead, she would not have to give me the money," he told the Roanoke Times. "That scares the H-E-L-L out of me. I'm just so glad that the state police found out about this and uncovered it."

Strickler's attorney, Stephen Meddy, said his client was "distraught" when he heard about the alleged plot and that the couple's divorce proceedings had raised no red flags. Nolen had full custody of their daughter before her arrest.

According to The Franklin News-Post, Nolen had filed a protective order against her ex-husband in October 2012.

Franklin County Superintendent Mark Church, who oversees the school system where the two women work, tried to reassure parents and students that no one in the school was threatened.

Franklin County Commonwealth Attorney Tim Allen said the prosecution would ask for at least a $75,000 bond for Bennett at the school nurse's bond hearing.

Man killed on Vegas strip identified as rapper Kenny Clutch

LAS VEGAS -- A rapper from Oakland who was killed in a shooting and fiery crash Thursday on the Las Vegas Strip glorified the gangsta lifestyle in his videos, but family and associates say Ken Cherry was nothing like the image he portrayed.

Cherry, 27, who rapped under the name Kenny Clutch, died after someone in a black Range Rover shot at him about 4:20 a.m. Thursday on the Las Vegas Strip, police said. The shooting started a chain-reaction crash in which two others were killed and six were wounded, police said.

Two men in a black Range Rover shot Cherry as he drove a gray Maserati down Las Vegas Boulevard early Thursday, police said.

After he was shot, Cherry accelerated down the street and sped through a red light, striking a cab at the intersection of Flamingo Road. The cab burst into flames, killing the cabdriver and a female passenger, police said.
The Clark County Coroner's Office hasn't identified the cabdriver and the woman passenger. Family members identified the driver as Michael Boldon, 62, a Michigan native who moved to Vegas about 1 1/2 years ago, and the passenger as Washington state resident Sandi Sutton.Three more cars and a utility truck collided at the crossroads, which is home to Bellagio, Caesars Palace and Bally's, leaving six other people injured as the Range Rover sped off, police said.

The crumpled gray Maserati came to rest several feet away from the incinerated taxi. Cherry was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Police said previously that they believe the violence was prompted by an earlier altercation at a hotel. Authorities are still searching for the Range Rover with dark tinted windows and custom rims that set off the fiery crash. Police said a passenger in the Maserati was cooperating with the investigation.

Clutch had three children.

I watched the whole documentary and had a renewed respect for her...WOW! Several times she professed how much she loved her Husband.

2 Chainz arrested

Rapper 2 Chainz has been arrested on drug charges in Maryland where he was performing at a college homecoming event.

Maryland State Police spokesman Sgt. Marc Black said troopers stopped a van Thursday night about 9:15 p.m. for speeding near Easton, Md., and smelled a strong odor of burnt marijuana in the van. A backpack in the van had a marijuana grinder and trace amounts of marijuana, police said.

The rapper, whose real name is Tauheed Epps, claimed possession of the backpack and was arrested, police said. Epps was cited for having drug paraphernalia and marijuana and was released. The citation carries up to a year in jail and up to a $1,000 fine.

Agents representing Epps did not respond to requests for comment.

After the arrest, 2 Chainz' website tweeted a photograph that appears to show him posing with two police officers. Black said the Maryland State Police could not confirm the authenticity of the photograph but is investigating.

"Locked me up and then Wanted pictures smh," read one tweet, using the abbreviation for shaking my head.

Epps was scheduled to perform Thursday evening at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. His website later tweeted a photo from the stage and wrote the "show must go on."

His manager declined to comment or confirm the tweets were from 2 Chainz himself.

I bet the case would be thrown out after the judge sees this photograph, lol.

Ring card girl doesn’t notice knocked out fighter

It's not like an NBA game, where there are cheerleaders and mascot races and dance squads and staring at Derrick Rose's knee to will it towards healing. (Maybe that was just my last trip to an NBA game.) At fights, you watch fights, and maybe the big screen at bigger UFC or Bellator events.

The singularity of events means you really shouldn't miss a knockout. Even if you look down for a minute and miss the punch, you generally don't miss the fighter laying on the ground and medical staff tending to him. You don't miss it, unless you're this woman employed to be a ring card girl.

Cameroon court frees 2 men jailed for 'looking gay'

A Cameroon appeals court has overturned the conviction of two men who were sentenced to five years in prison for "looking gay" and ordering Bailey's Irish Cream. The Court of Appeals Monday acquitted the men and ordered their release. The two men were convicted in November 2011 and had already spent more than a year in jail, where they were subjected to abuse from guards and other prisoners, according to human rights advocates.

"Their conviction was against the law because they were not actually seen or caught doing anything at the time the police arrested them," said their lawyer, Alice Nkom, according to Reuters. "They were arrested because they were seen wearing women's clothes and because of the nature of their make-up, and only suspected to be homosexuals, which is against Cameroon law." The new ruling has been hailed by human rights lawyers and gay rights advocates who urged President Paul Biya to release all other prisoners found guilty under the country's harsh anti-gay laws. On December 17, a Cameroonian court upheld the five-year sentence of another man, Roger Jean-Claude Mbede, who was convicted of sending a text message that said "I love you" to another man. Homosexuality is illegal in many African countries and can carry a penalty of up to five years in jail in Cameroon and NIgeria. Lmao and smh!

Donald Trump sends Bill Maher birth certificate, awaits $5 million

Comedian Bill Maher may have bit off more than he can chew with a challenge he issued to Donald Trump.

On Monday night’s “Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” Maher mocked Trump’s offer to President Barack Obama prior to the November election to release his birth certificate in exchange for $5 million donated to the charity of the President’s choice.

Maher, probably jokingly, offered to donate $5 million to the charity of Trump’s choice if he would release his own birth certificate to prove The Donald was not the “spawn of his mother having sex with orangutan…”

But the “Celebrity Apprentice” star set out to have the last laugh. In a letter, obtained by Yahoo, Trump’s lawyer responds to Maher’s offer with a copy of Trump’s certificate and instructions for money promised.

“Attached hereto is a copy of Mr. Trump's birth certificate, demonstrating that he is the son of Fred Trump, not an orangutan. Please remit the $5 million to Mr. Trump immediately and he will ensure that the money be donated to the following five charities in equal amounts: Hurricane Sandy Victims, The Police Athletic League, The American Cancer Society, The March of Dimes, and The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.”

Maher said on the show that he was “not looking for a feud with Donald Trump.”
