How to install GIMP-GAP (animation tool)

This is one of the powerful tool in GIMP that can make an animation what you want (GIF), in gimp,we can make a cool animation using GAP (GIMP Animation Package).
If you a Ubuntu user, you can install Gimp-gap simply by typing :

sudo apt-get install gimp-gap

after installing, you will get new animation menu like this:

This is a cool gimp tutorial, how to make a beam light effect in gimp? if you want to know about this awesome effect in gimp, let's try to learn it!just follow these
steps:
1. Choose your beloved pose, or use your object

2. then make a new layer, fill around the body using path tool like this:

3. then right click like this

4. delete part of the white curve like this

5. make the white curve blur using gaussian blur

6. select the curve (alpha to selection) and make a new layer above it, then grow its selection

7. fill the new layer with yellow color

8. then you can add spark brush like this
9. Finish!

How to make glossy text in gimp?maybe this question is one of your problem in GIMP world tricks, yap...perhaps...but after you read this glassy text tutorial, i hope you will be satisfied with my simple gimp tutorial, the steps are:

1. make a new file, you can choose black as background
2. create a text (for the colors, you can find in the video)
3. then make a new gradients on the text (if you don't understand how to make a gradient text, check this!)
4. then make selection (half of your text), it will make glassy-looks there,
5. make a new layer (with shrink selection 2 px) then fill with white
6. for light effect, change the layer mode to Overlay
FINISH!

this tutorial is about how to make cool abstract background, but this tutorial is not for beginner. because it it need advanced technique to modify the image. try these steps:
1. make new file with black as background

2. create new layer and fill with many circles shape (how to make it? read circle shape first)
3. then fill with white, and turn down the opacity, then make outer line around that circles
4. copy the circle shapes 3 or more ( up to you)
5. for the copy layers, make it blur
6. then mak a new layer and fill with rainbow gradients
7. then change layer mode from normal into overlay....Finish

This gimp tutorial is the sequel of Simple gradient text before, however, after read that tutorial maybe you confused...so aagimp will show you how to make it more simple than before.
1. make a new layer
2. press T on your keyboard (to make a text)
3. then go to layers and right click on your text layer
4. choose the Alpha to selection
5. then go to toolbar and find Gradient tool (or press L )

this is the simple way to make a gradient text (text effect tutorial), by this cool tutorial, you can modify this tutorial for your Neon Tex t effect, like aa-gimp logo up there. by the way, let try to make it....

1. make new document, with your size, up to you, then make a new blank layer, and delete the background layer
2. make a gradient by pressing L on your keyboard, and make it horizontally
3. then make a new text, for the cool fonts, specially for Ubuntu lovers, try to install it on Laptop guide here
4. after that, right click on your text layer, then choose "alpha to selection"
5. then go to your gradient layer, press Ctrl+I (inverse)
6. delete the selection and disable/invisible the text layer...
7. Done!!!simple, isn't it??

1.make a new document 100 x 100 px with black background /other colors
2. then add the brush with random size

3. then remove the background layer and make it transparent, then go to Edit>paste as>new brush4. then make new document with your desired size, then add new layer and fill with new brush that made on step 3

this is the simple way to make a neon glow effect text tutorial, as beginner in gimp, i'm sure that you will do this easily, let's try dude!

1. open yout image (i use a .png logo from dewalinux image as my object)
2. then open your filter using right click>filter>alpha to logo> neon, then will show new dialog like this
3. apply the default color, then click OK
4. and you already add a neon glow effect on your text...simple, isn't it??

1. take the picture object (i use ipod as my object)
2. make sure that your background is black
3. then duplicate your image
4. rotate your new object then put under the original object
5. then delete the bottom part with 50 px feather
6. then turn down the opacity layer

hii,,,Long time we never meet..i very miss you guys..hehehe...because of my "busy" activities..this blog has no new cool gimp tutorial again..but now..i will share to you how to make a planet effect with gimp..simple and easy..let's do it!
1. make a new document with black color as background
2. then make a new layer, make a circle selection and fill it with blue color like this
3. then duplicate the new layer, and fill with black color
4. move it down and make a gaussian blur on black circle like this

5. back to blue circle, then drop white shadow like this
6. last..go to background, and go to filter>add noise>HSV Noise
7. finish....simple, isn't it???

gimp tutorial : Realistic Flag 2 (amazing)

hello guys,,,meet me again on gimp tutorial....i'm glad to share this amazing tutorial for you....about how to make realistic flag...in the previous tutorial, i show you the simple way to make realistic flag..now, i will show you..the secret of making realistic flag...it's very simple guys....let's do it..!!!
1. first, open your flag, i use indonesian (merah-putih) flag...of you want another, it's up to you
2. make a new layer, then fill the layer with shadow effect using brush tool (P), and don't forget, use black color
3. then go to filter>blur>gaussian blur
4. then on that layer, add an emboss effect with filter>distort>emboss
5. change the opacity number to 70
6. go to flag layer, and make displace effect using filter>map>displace like this
7. repeat step 6 five times by pressing Ctrl+F, and you will show the amazing effect like this

8. crop your image (Shift+C), then save your amazing flag
9. finish (^_^)

aa-gimp tutorial shows you the basic tutorial in gimp to make a 3d button, may be you saw my previous tutorial about Dewalinux wallpapers and there are 3d buttons in dewalinux's logo, in this tutorial, i will show you the tricks....let's do it!!!
1. first, make a circle object, you can use circle selection and fill it with blue, or other color

2. then make gradient color (Black and blue) then follow this instruction

3. make new layer, and repeat no. 1 with white color, smaller than before

4. then delete half or more that circle with selection, don't forget to change the feather with 25px

5. then change the opacity with 50% or less, and for better result, change the background to white color
6.finish!!!simple. isn't it??

1. first, open your flag image, dont' forget to change the background with black color
2. go to filters, then choose the distorts>curve bend
3. make your displacement effect for the flag
4. make a new layer with the flag above, and make the shadow using brush tools like this
5. blur that shadow with gaussian blur in 50px
6. change the opacity...with 50 points

this time, i will show you the basic tutorial to make a polygonal selection using paths tool, sometime we need to make a polygonal selection, but if we use lasso tool, it is make difficulties, because if we use lasso tool, it is make lines are not straight...so...this is the solution....and i will show you one of artistic effect called clothify..let's do it..
1. take your picture...
2. make a straight lines using paths tool like this, don't forget to click the polygonal option
3. select your picture...
4. then make zoom blur on your picture
5. to make a cloth effect, use filters>artistic>clothify
