Sometimes my husband goes out of town for his work usually it's emergency renovations and repairs of structures. Going out of town at the last minute with half the information of what my husband has to do is not a great plan. Looking at all the plans from his boss and two other architects he was glad that richmond windows was close enough by to take some of the guess work out of the big plans to rework this historical home.

Picking up our plants for the garden

It was so nice going to the Regional Market yesterday to pick up our plants for the garden. It is a lot easier to buy the plants already started in their little baskets. The main labour of the garden is keeping the weeds from growing. The second concern is the chipmunks of the neighborhood killing the plants before they get started.

Men's wedding bands

A year from now would be our tenth anniversary and hopefully by then we will be replacing our wedding band. At the moment I'm looking at men's wedding bands for my husband. He likes wearing his on the job so sometimes it takes a lot of abuse so looking for the right karat and the right thickness is very important so he can get at least ten years out of the new one.

Working hard

It get so tiring waking up at 5:00 to be ready at 6:00 to catch my ride for work. I think I liked it better when I was just babysitting in our home for one little guy while I took care of our 4 year old at the time. If only I could find two kids to babysit on a longer term I wouldnt need to get up so early.

We started out having someone building our website. It took time, a lot of time. This time we hope to do this ourself. It's all about learning the programs. Solar powered plant for the garden

When I find time to do my flower garden this year I thought that I might like to have a little stone fountain in the middle. After looking at all the different ones online I found a very unique solar powered pump that could spray the fountain in the middle and we won't have to run anymore power lines to plug it in. Harbor Freight tools store has a few different models of this.

Paul next door is always concentrating on the upgrade of the instruments in his son's band. He is getting use to me wandering in as I'm walking by. I do a lot of reading online and searches. When I was searching for a keyboard for my son I wan into something interesting. It's the best antares autotune. I didn't know what it was at first but after reading about it I thought it was worth mentioning to Paul and he instantly took an interest at looking it up.

Robins are back

You can tell when spring is here. The robins are back along with the red wing black birds. I couldn't believe the other morning that there was birds in our upper bedroom's eve of the house. During the high winds of the winter it had knocked a piece of the facial off creating a nice place for the birds. My husband now has to get the ladder out to fix that piece before they start nesting and make a real mess.

Trying to draw attention to my friend's new store was getting a little frustrating. We had an okay crowd for the grand opening but it kind of trickled off. It must have been all the free stuff that we were giving away that weekend that enticed everybody. In the weeks to come we are utilizing a banner printing services to print up simply the words free coffee with the name of the store underneath and hopes to draw some additional people.

Walking exercise

My husband has been lightly preparing himself for the upcoming start of his new job. Being laid off most of the winter can definitely be a disability if you start right in on a hard job lifting and moving can hurt you very quickly. The other day he said he was going for a walk and didn't come back for an hour and a half. He ended up walking about three and one half mile. At least his legs is getting a workout.

At work a lot of our work requires a lot of repetition when it comes to movement of our arms picking up, pulling things then setting them back down. You wouldn't think this would hurt you but it can and after we've done all this we end up sitting down for hours at a time. Our boss has recently instated an exercise program for stretching at 10:00 am and 1:00 pm. She said the next step was looking for thirty cheap yoga mats because it would be better if we could do a few more exercise at floor level.

Destiny USA mall

We went to the new Destiny USA mall formerly the Syracuse Carousel mall just to see the new improvements but the mall is so crowded we couldn't get into any restaurants without waiting over an hour. I guess we have reached the age that we might as well go to a less popular mall so we could enjoy the time walking through and finding some place new to eat for lunch.

It seems like every year it gets harder and harder to find unique gifts when it comes to the crew that I worked with. Obviously if there wasn't a budget it would be easy to find a great gift but these days money is tight and you have to limit yourself. This year I think I am going to put my search into personalized portfolio. I think it would be a big surprise to all of them that I work with.

Nuclear outage schooling

Countdown to my husband's schooling on the 18th of this month. Every spring brings another nuclear outage and every year my husband has to update his schooling. Some of it is complete repetition and very little is new. The main thing that they drill into all the guys is safety first which is great. The second thing is stop when you are unsure another great practice when you're working around very sensitive equipment.

Paul our neighbor has just came over to show us the brand new guitar. He said he got the acoustic bass guitar at wwbw. Buying guitars and selling them to buy another is one of Paul's favorite past times. Its just like that with my husband when it comes to ATV's and snowmobiles. The only problem with my husband's favorite past time compared to Paul's is it is a lot more expensive.

My husband's birthday is coming up and it is so hard to buy him something unique. I been online and searching the good places but the only thing I could come up with is something that he wanted a few years ago which is a 60 inch work bench with four drawers.The last time he wanted it the shed wasn't big enough but since then he added on so maybe it will fit now.

i wasn't prepared for this. Earlier this winter when we had our first big snow fall I pulled out all the winter clothing for the kids. As they were putting them on I noticed and they did that everything was pretty much too small. So thinking like last year they were outdoors a lot playing in the snow. After they went outdoors I immediately got online to look for a patagonia sale. With the fast shipping their new clothes will be here by next weekend. They'll be so surprised.

Usually you meet a person and then with some luck you start talking and get to know the person. In today's cyber world it may be backwards to this as in talking first and then possibly meeting them. With martin hanaka and Nicole Lynn Andriano it was a joyous day at the Ritz-Carlton Battery Park in Manhattan, where the Rev. Fanny Erickson, a minister of the United Church of Christ, officiated their wedding. We really would like to wish them all the best in a perfect union on that special day.

Melting snow again

We finally get a little bit of snow just enough to ride the snowmobile. It warmed up nicely on Sunday so we went for a little ride. The only problem is there is no base snow to protect the skis. Its all fluffy snow so as you rise across it you can hear the skis scraping the dirt underneath. The only way to get a base is to have a light meltdown of the snow. Now today Monday it is raining and raining hard enough to take away most of the snow in a few days. It won't get cold again for snow for five days. It will be too late by then to ride the snowmobile.

It's so tough hiring people these days. You never know what you're going to run into. Even drug screening doesn't work all the time. Some new employees on their resume' will put down lack of work for their layoff of their last job when in fact they were laid off for other reasons. Our employees are on a very simple employee attendance tracker that way it's so easy to see any kind of pattern of absentee at a glance.

Its always so much fun watching where the pickers go and what things they run into on the trips throughout United States. I think I'm jealous in the sense that I would like to be doing what they're doing but of course buying things and hoping that you find the right seller soon is always a gamble with your money.

Sprockets

My husband took apart an old ATV four wheeler. His plans are someday to make it into a little doom buggy. The original engine can't be used . My husband plans on using a 12 horse brigs. The sprockets are not the same on the axle compared to the clutch. Hopefully he can find a matching set so he doesn't have to pay a lot of money for a custom machined pair.

Snowing hard

Let it snow..let it snow..let it snow. The weather outside is horrible it's cold snowing and blowing. The temperature tonight is supposed to be -2 degrees. Good thing tomorrow is a holiday because I really didn't feel like getting out at that temperature. I'll let my husband go out and snow blow the driveway and warm up the car if we do decided to go any place.

So my son wanting a guitar at the moment is a thing of the past. As a young guy his interest are always changing when it comes to his music. I can still remember when he started out with a ten dollar keyboard that grandpa gave him. Now instead of a guitar he is looking at a korg kronos at musicians friend. Just like waiting two weeks to see if his interest change like they did with the guitar. We will wait a couple weeks on this.
