I drink tons of water and exfoliate, and even that isn't enough sometimes. I've tried the least expensive products to the most expensive products and I have to say...even though the coveted La Mer and Kinerase $100+ feel luxurious, I've had better results with the least expensive.
My recent moisturizer purchase proved to be less expensive but more luxurious...maybe it was the price:) CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Lotion PM, $12.99 drugstore.com is a nighttime mositurizer, developed specifically for the face, which helps repair damaged skin and maintain the skin's natural protective function with ingredients not commonly found in other moisturizers.

Winter Blues

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 250px; height: 250px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-BBYVlCyEEMw/Tswe6FV153I/AAAAAAAAAN4/1D_5Do2AJ4w/s320/derma.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5677947213422389106" />
It's getting cold and winter is just around the corner. Our skin tends to get dry and flaky, but with a few simple steps, you can battle that croc!

1. Dry brush or dry exfoliate your skin before you shower. I like KP Duty Body scrub by Derma Doctor, Sephora $44. Use this 2-3 times a week, spacing out the days in between. (This scrub helps with body acne, chicken skin bumps, shaving bumps, ingrown hairs, etc...)

2. Moisturize with a creamy lotion. I don't have a specific lotion, but I do mix in a few drops of sesame oil or vitamin E oil into the lotion.

3. Drink lots of water. I cannot stress this enough.

4. Sweat at least once a day. This will release the toxins in your body that will make your face and body glow.

5. Drink green tea. It's a super antioxidant!

Favorite Mascara!

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 250px; height: 250px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_Hg7IayxJfQE/TNwRLOLAzXI/AAAAAAAAANI/gOEamlf4C3Q/s320/too%2Bfaced.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5538320526239386994" />
I've finally found my favorite Mascara!!!
It's Too Faced Lash Injection Mascara.

With a flick of the specially-designed "GIANT" wand lashes will be injected with indelible, weather-proof color. I was expecting wonderful things after all my great experiences with Olay products, but it turned out to be only average.

Although it did absorb well into my skin and was very light and helped moisturize a little, I didn’t find that it targeted those dark circles under my eyes very well, which I expect my eye creams to do. So even though it is more affordable than other eye creams on the market I would rather pay a bit more for more results.

Cyberta

Heidi Plastic Surgery Gone Too Far?

Before
<---                         After                      ---->

I don't know about you, but I think Heidi looked beautiful before she went knife crazy! Women, this is what happens when you believe those awful comments when you're young. "You're nose is too big," your about as curvy as a wall." Well gee, when you're 13, what do you expect. You'll also need to decrease your stress--an inevitable factor in life that detracts from your beautiful appearance and ruins your calm demeanor. Here are a few ways to de-stress your life.

1. Create a relaxing room at home.

It doesn't have to be a room per se, but maybe a space in your bedroom--the key is to have an areas in your home that is devoted solely to relaxing. You may want to add a comfortable chair or daybed, put a dimmer on the lights, or have candles burning--whatever it is that you enjoy and find relaxing. The key is not to have too many outside stimuli. Forget the cell phone, laptop; this is a time to unwind and clear your mind of distractions and stressors.

2. Meditate.

Meditation is a great way to relax, especially if you are under a lot of stress. Sit or lay down on the floor. Take deep breaths and focus on slowing your breathing down becoming one with your body. Meditating for as little as 10 minutes a day is enough to have beneficial effect on your stress level.

3. Get a Massage.

This is my favorite thing to do. Having a great massage is a great way to free yourself of tension, and adding aromatherapy oils such as chamomile or lavendar can be particularly beneficial.

4. Take a Hot Bath.

Heat relaxes muscles--and taking a long hot bath can be soothing to the mind as well. Stock up on your favorite bath salts and soaps, get a bath pillow and decorate the room with candles.

5. Take a Vacation.

Even when you have a day off, it's hard to relax when you're surrounded by all the usual stressors--piles of bills, home repair jobs that need to be done, shopping to do, and all the other obligations of daily life. Whether you prefer a no-frills campout or a luxury hotel, whatever you find rejuvenating . If you can possibly swing it, just get away to relax.

Beauty Recipe of the Day!!! Well, in the midst of all the craziness, the last thing we want to think about is dry skin. However, this is the most important time to start thinking about it. Pretty soon we will be tanning and applying tanning products and we want to have the best base possible.

We are 4 weeks out, so exfoliation is crucial at this point. Exfoliate 2-3 times a week after skin is cleansed with a salt based exfoliator, not sugar. Sugar tends to have pore clogging oils, so stick with a salt base. A good exfoliator is the Clinique 7 day scrub, any of the Oil of Olay or Aveeno scrubs, they're gentle and not abrasive. Follow up with a good moisturizer. Your skin should feel heavenly in no time, and ready for the Big Show!

Cybertabeauty.com

Fresh Face RX

If your face looks a little puffy due to water retention, here are some
changes you can make that might help:

1.Drink plenty of Water
2. Enjoy Green Tea--this a source of caffeine, which acts as a diuretic
3. Prior to finding this little piece of heaven, I had been using an expensive $40 body lotion only available from tanning salons. I don't remember the name of it, but I loved it and it kept my skin soft and smooth all day long. Well I haven't really felt the need lately to fork over $40 for lotion, which led me on a mission to find a cheaper replacement. Olay's Active Hydration called me from the shelf. I tested it, loved it and realized I had finally found a lotion similar to what I had grown to love without the hefty price tag... Try it for yourself, and if you're not completely satisfied, well then return it for a full refund. ***Oh, I have to mention that it leaves a light glittery sheen on your skin. When friends hadn't heard from their friend in awhile, they went to her house to make contact. To their surprise the door was open and inside a grisly discovery. Joanne Cunnane was found dead of natural causes under piles of clothes and purchases from years of shopping. Investigators discovered that Joanne was an elderly shopaholic with nothing to do during the day, but shop. The neighborhood kids bothered her, and shopping made her feel good. So she would leave in the morning and return at night as if she were working a full time job. In fact, she had spent those hours shopping, everyday! Investigators said her house was completely packed from floor to ceiling with clothes and purchases.
Wow, I thought I was bad!!!

A word to all women...please do something more valuable with your time! This is tragic, and shopping fills an emotional void for the moment, but does not provide lasting fulfillment like most people believe. The long lasting fulfillment comes from within! So work on yourself and not your credit card.

Madonna and steroids gone bad! ewwww

Ok ladies this is why you should never work out your arms more than 3 times a day! When a woman gives up her life to be in a relationship, ie., not working out anymore and eating like there's no tomorrow! Yes, Jessica Simpson is the culprit...Here she's seen after a workout following the newly publicized break up with Dallas Cowboys Quarterback, Tony Romo. Women, men date you because you're interesting, exciting and you have a life...when you give that up to accommodate them...you become boring and predictable. Don't do this to yourself or your body, you'll thank yourself later (especially when you don't have to drop 30lbs, to be in the same place you were to begin with)!!!! Spare the skin ladies, and your heart:)

Cyberta

Wow Factor: Beautiful Brunette!

Gina Gilbert, of the Serge Normant at John Freida salon in NYC, calls this gorgeous color a dark, warm, rich brown. While this seasons hottest color, ruby red, could be created the old-fashioned way. However, I suggest you stick with lipstick in a tube, and better yet to get a flawless application, apply it with a lip brush.

Cyberta

Beauty tip of the day!

Want to look like you've slept 8 hours when, in fact, you've only slept 4 hours? So, do not wash your hair every day; wash it every other day or every two to three days. Now your probably thinking "gross" I work out, run, do yoga, sweat, so my hair has to be washed everyday." Here's the solution to that, rinse your hair while your taking a shower, but don't use shampoo. Add a little bit of conditioner to the ends, dry and style as usual. Soon you'll have a full head of beautiful, healthy, shiny hair.

2. Leave-Ins... Leave-in conditioners are a great way to give your hair a break from shampoo, it will dry out less and won't require much conditioner. Massage into your hair on the NO shampoo days. It will give you just the right amount of moisture it needs to stay soft and adds a bit of texture and hold too.

3. Stock up on Dry Shampoo... My favorite hair product!!! This is a permament staple in hair routine because it has so many uses. You can dust it on to absorb excess oil when you've gone too long between washes, or you can use to give fine hair added oomph-just apply it to your roots and brush through.

4. Accessorize with Caution... Steer clear of elastic bands with metal closures, they'll literally rip your hair out. Instead use cloth-only ponytail holders to create "cruelty free" tails and updos.

5. Layer Styling Products... When working with a new styler-anything from mousse to pomade-take baby steps. Remember, you can always add product, but removing it is not so easy, not to mention you can end up looking like a greaser from the "Outsiders."
Another smart move: Apply stylers to the back of your head first. That way if you do use too much, you won't have a "Something About Mary" moment. And when it comes to hair spray, flexible hold is always the best. You never want helmet head, unless it's for a special occasion hair-do or up-do.
