Ladies and Gentleman and everybody else,

As you can see I haven't posted anything on this web site in well over a year. Why you may ask?
Well it is a long story and most of it is covered in my personal blog at; victors-journal.blogspot.com and at;
https://www.southcarecremation.com/obituaries/obituary.php?id=2107 .

In short my wife died on September 1st 2011 after a long and difficult stay in nursing homes, which involved having to fight with medicaid and medicare and much movement from one facility to another involving distances exceeding 65 miles from our home. To say that it was heartbreaking and mindbending is putting it mildly.

But I am not here to discuss my personal problems, I am here to discuss our Presidential Election this year.

First of all, please recognize that opting out and/or not voting this year for a presidential candidate is the very, very worst thing you can do.

Please, please, whatever you do, if you are eligible to vote, make sure you are on the polls and then vote.

Even if you don't like any of the candidates(and I don't) pick the one you don't like the least and vote for him/her even if it isn't your own party.

JUST MAKE SURE YOU VOTE. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO GET THE ATTENTION OF NOT ONLY THE PRESIDENT ELECT, BUT ALSO OF ALL OF THE CONGRESSIONAL CANDIDATES AND OF YOUR STATE GOVERNORS, AND STATE REPRESENTATIVES.

Abstaining(not voting) takes away your own rights, because you are giving them away. That is what the elected representatives and their moneyed backers want you to do.

That is how they have taken away so much of our individual rights.

VOTE PEOPLE VOTE.

VIRTUAL FENCING BY THE USA!??

Ladies and gentleman,
What we have here is the biggest boondoggle ever perpetrated on the taxpayers of the United States. In its simplest terms the so-called virtual fence along the US-Mexican border was supposed to allow real time monitoring of the border to locate both foot and vehicular traffic crossing the border either into and by the way out of the US.

Now, somebody in Congress used their influence to give the project to the Boeing Company to build this fence.

What is Boeing's primary product you ask? It is airplanes, both civilian and military, plus several missile and satellite programs. To learn more click on this link Boeing's Web Site.

So why was Boeing selected for this job? It sure as hell wasn't because of their expertise in Security Systems was it? I think it was a Pork Barrel assignment to pacify certain Senators and Congressman, that is what I think.

Back to the problem of why doesn't the Virtual Fence work? Well, let's take it one thing at a time;
1. The cameras take buggy pictures! How come, you can go to several hundred stores both on-line and off-line and buy cameras with ultra high resolution, and ultra long lens off the shelf. Remote control tilt and zoom are easily available. Facial recognition software is available off the shelf.
2. The software cannot tell the difference between and person, an animal, and a vehicle. Once again bull shit, that kind of infra red software is used in satellites, ships, tanks, airplanes, and helicopters, and guess who one of the makers of the product is? you guessed it in one, Boeing.
3. The cameras and sensors are blinded by rain and fog, again bullshit, infrared and other secret hardware is available from the military arsenal, and again who does Boeing work for? The military. Boeing makes spy satellites that can read a license plate at night during rain and fog. Tell me the virtual fence doesn't work correctly.

The reason the virtual fence doesn't work is because somebody told Boeing to make sure it doesn't work.

One thing I know for sure, I could make a virtual fence that would be able to Identify spot and track just about anything you want tracked on land, sea and in the air.

Levi Johnston says he hasn't decided whether he'll run for mayor of his Alaska hometown as a Democrat or a Republican. "We're debating that one. I'm up and down, back and forth here," Johnston said on HBO's "Real Time with Bill Maher" Friday.
Johnston, the father of Sarah Palin's grandson, plans to run for the office in Wasilla as part of a reality TV show.
He said that he's been talking to residents about his candidacy and is working on building a platform, although he didn't offer specifics.
Maher, noting Palin's recent feuds with such public figures as Maureen Dowd, asked Johnston: "She is a hostile person, is she not?"
"That she is, yeah," Johnston replied.
Maher also ribbed Johnston for his relationship with Sarah Palin's daughter Bristol. "Are you using condoms now?" Maher asked? "I'm a big fan of Trojan these days," Johnston replied.
Johnston says the appearance on Maher's HBO show would be his last interview for a while.

GOP's Mary Fallin Cites Motherhood As Key Difference Over Dem Jari Askins In Oklahoma Governor's Race

EDMOND, Okla. — In her quest to become Oklahoma's first female governor, Democrat Jari Askins has amassed an assortment of professional qualifications: she's been a judge, a legislator, the head of a state agency, and a corporate attorney.

But what she hasn't been is a wife. The 57-year-old career woman, who now serves as the state's lieutenant governor, has never been married or had children. And as this historic race between two women candidates for the state's top office nears its conclusion, that gap in her biography is attracting increasing attention.

At rallies and other appearances, opponent Rep. Mary Fallin, 55, a Republican congressman, regularly mentions her new husband and their combined six children. Fallin, who had two children from a previous marriage, married a divorced father of four in November. She says her family and her experience as a businesswoman and officeholder have made her most qualified to be governor.

But remarks by Fallin at a Tuesday campaign debate, in which she cited her motherhood as a key difference between the two candidates, drew groans from some in the audience and stirred discussion about whether the emphasis on Askins' unmarried status had gone too far.

Several other women in public life, including Republicans, objected. "I don't understand why that's important," said Brenda Reneau, a Republican and former state labor commissioner, questioning why a candidate's husband and children were worth stressing in a gubernatorial debate. "Is she going to bring them to work? I've never found one thing while I was in office that I needed experience in being married and having children."

State Sen. Judy Eason McIntyre, one of 17 women serving in Oklahoma's legislature, also said Fallin's comment seemed like a "cheap shot." McIntyre, a Democrat, said Askins' unmarried status "doesn't have anything to do with anything."

Fallin supporters insisted the contrast was appropriate. "How can you not talk about family?" said Tulsa banker Charlotte Mindeman.

But the awkward moment has stirred questions about gender and politics in a race that has been regarded as a feminist milestone here. Would calling attention to a woman's lack of spouse pay off in a conservative state where politicians campaign on family values? Or does no-holds-barred campaigning show how far women have progressed in a male-dominated arena?

Laura Boyd, who was the state's first female gubernatorial nominee when she ran in 1998, said she hopes voters will focus on other issues. "Oklahoma woman are beyond, and should be beyond that, by virtue of the fact we have this opportunity for a female chief executive," said Boyd, a Democrat.

But one voter, Shana Goodman, a Norman salon owner and a single mother, said she thinks it is important to know whether a candidate has raised a family. "Because I think when you are actively involved in raising children, it shows you know how to sacrifice yourself for the well being of others," she said.

Fallin and Askins are both powerhouses in Oklahoma politics. Askins, the daughter of an abstract company owner from Duncan, worked as an oil and gas attorney before making her way up through the state's political ranks. She became director of the state pardon and parole board before winning election to the legislature. Gregarious and quick with a hug for colleagues and prospective voters, she built a reputation as a consensus builder in a politically divided state House.

Fallin's parents both served terms as mayor of her hometown of Tecumseh. She was manager of a hotel chain when, she said, she grew frustrated with government regulation and ran for the legislature. She was later elected lieutenant governor and U.S. representative. She still favors the formal business suits and firm manner of a business executive.

The two women initially appeared cordial on the campaign trail, and both boasted of their strong conservative credentials. But Askins, trailing in the race, took a more aggressive posture after television ads sponsored by the Republican Governors Association began blasting her as a liberal and associating her with President Barack Obama.

At the first televised debate last week in Edmond, Askins at one point suggested Fallin was a "show horse," rather than a workhorse, provoking a reaction.

And, when asked at the debate what defines her as a candidate and distinguishes her from opponent, Fallin responded: "I think my experience is one of the things that sets me apart as a candidate for governor. First of all, being a mother, having children, raising a family."

Afterward, Fallin said she saw nothing wrong with her remark. "I was just explaining that these things give me a good perspective on the challenges Oklahomans face, and hopefully voters can relate to that," she said.

Askins declined to say if she felt Fallin's comment suggested she lacked an important credential for a woman. She said she never planned on being single.

"I always expected to be married and have a passel full of kids," Askins said. "But none of that ever happened. Rather than sit back and worry about it, I devoted my life to trying to serve all the children of Oklahoma."

Although women officeholders are becoming more common across the nation, their marital status still sometimes draws attention. Both of President Barack Obama's Supreme Court nominees, Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan, occasionally were asked about never marrying or having children. Janet Napolitano, who has never married, was elected governor of Arizona and is now Homeland Security secretary.

For her part, Askins says she hasn't committed herself to being single forever.

"I'm still hoping that when I get married, he has better football tickets than I do and he likes to play golf," she said.

Illinois Governor Pat Quinn has been getting aggressive with political ads in recent weeks. First, he released what has been dubbed "America's nastiest political ad" about his Republican opponent's sponsorship of a bill that would have authorized the mass euthanization of pets in carbon monoxide gas chambers.

This week, the Quinn campaign lightened things up a bit, releasing an ad inspired by the hit FOX show, "Glee." (Scroll down to watch the ad.)

The ad takes the conservative gubernatorial candidate Bill Brady to task on everything from social issues to his tea time with Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck and Jeb Bush. It also pokes fun at Brady's young and inexperienced pick for lieutenant governor--who has been out of the spotlight since a painful appearance on "Chicago Tonight."

A recent poll puts Brady and Quinn neck and neck, though Brady led the governor by about 10 points for several months.

Good TARP News Doesn't Fit; Media Are Flummoxed

What do we do with the end of TARP?
And what do we do with the news that TARP will not have cost anything like the $700 billion we thought it would? What if it really cost $50 billion, or less?
What if, in the end, the Toxic Asset Relief Program so controversial at birth and vilified throughout its two years of life turns out to have turned a profit for the government and the taxpayer?
We — most of the news media this is — simply don't know what to do with this news.
The suggestion that TARP did not blow a hole in the federal budget potentially blows a hole in some other presumptions as well. Economists will argue for years over the necessity of TARP, and the rest of us can argue over the bonuses investment bankers still got (and continue to get).
But we won't argue about whether the government could or should have done more to prevent the collapse of the credit markets and the mass failure of banks in 2008. Because the government did do TARP, and those other things did not happen. We did not go back to 1929 or worse. And, unlovely as it may be, TARP remains the closest thing we have to an explanation for that.
Still, the expiration of the program as Sunday turned to Monday passed largely unremarked. And insofar as the media have noticed the story of TARP's apparently much-reduced cost, that tale has been anything but ballyhooed.
(For an exception, see the package offered Sunday evening by Guy Raz and the crew at Weekend All Things Considered.)
On the last business day before TARP expired, The New York Times and The Washington Post did report the much-reduced cost figures — mentioning the potential for the program to actually make money for taxpayers in the final accounting. But the Times put the story in the Business Section, and the Post played it on the Federal Page.
Their judgment may well have been affected by the fact that the numbers available were coming from the White House, which is obviously interested in defending a program President Obama voted to create and administered once in office.
But it's also apparent that the TARP-as-hero story does not fit well with the TARP-as-Beelzebub narrative that has been so strong throughout this election year.
And narratives matter. Nothing is more central to journalistic practice than the telling of stories. Stories are how we capture, comprehend, explain and deliver the news. Without stories, we would be wandering lost across the landscape of events and sensations. We need a narrative, or we have no organizing idea.
This imperative applies not only to each day's events, but to the broader sweep of occurrences in succession. We need a narrative for each week, each month and each fiscal year. We need a narrative for every electoral cycle.
And once we have established such a narrative, everything is under control. Everything, that is, except whatever fails to fit the narrative.
And in 2010, there's been no clearer story line than the toxicity of the Toxic Asset Relief Program. It's a burden for many a Democrat, of course, but its weight is being borne by many Republicans as well.
Lifelong conservatives with careers of faithful adherence to free market principles have seen those careers wrecked this year, and no issue looms larger in their downfall than TARP. We are not just talking about moderate Republicans like Rep. Mike Castle in Delaware, or moderate-to-conservatives such as Sen. Lisa Murkowski in Alaska. We are talking orthodox conservatives such as Sen. Robert Bennett of Utah and South Carolina Reps. Bob Inglis and J. Gresham Barrett.
Thus we are confronted with a problematic moment just now in the telling of the tale of the 2010 elections. We know we have a firm grasp on our narrative, which has been fixed for months: The Democrats are in deep, deep trouble because of high unemployment and a perception of government overreach and government interventionism — symbolized by the health care law and the bailouts. And it all started with TARP.
Part and parcel of this overarching narrative is the anger of the populace at the persistent effects of the recession. Even if economic growth has resumed — at least in a stingy and stubborn sort of way — the recovery is not sprouting jobs the way a good recovery should. And while Ronald Reagan held down his party's losses in the 1982 midterms by blaming that year's persistent unemployment on his predecessor, Barack Obama and his majority Democrats have not been nearly so effective in pushing the same message.
Right now, the narrative is running so strong that when a coalition of unionists and other activists on the left marches in Washington — as happened this weekend — the media characterize the gathering largely by comparing its size and tone to Glenn Beck’s Tea-flavored rally of a month earlier. "Marchers say we're angry too," shouted one headline.
There you have it. In the year of the Tea Party you must be angry or be forgotten. That's how you make yourself part of the narrative.

The United States total lack of Emergency Preparedness.

Citizens of the USA, I ask you! why don't we have any people, plans, equipment, supplies, in place for disasters in this country? Why? Why don't we have one General in charge of running a National Emergency Preparedness program? Somebody with the power, knowledge, and sheer guts to do what is necessary to get this country prepared for emergencies, both natural and man-made?

We have all watched as hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, fires, explosions, and oil spills wipe out homes, lives, and livelihoods all across our nation. Who is first on the scene? our news organizations, that's who.

Where are the police, paramedics, emergency support, FEMA, National Guard, Active Military, not there and not here.

If you are like me, you must have noticed that it most often takes days before FEMA ever responds to a national let alone a local disaster. Yes the Red Cross shows up, but how many of you know that the Salvation Army is usually there first, but they never seek publicity. They just come in and help out people in need. Whenever I am able, I will give to the Salvation Army before I give to the Red Cross.

Back to the need for a responsible, effective central command for National Emergencies, I think we need something that is set up very much like a Military Command, with a clearly defined Command Structure and the necessary funding, equipment, and manpower needed to do their job.

I would love to hear an opinion from you folks.

My question is where the hell did it come from? I didn't order it, and I didn't download it, and I cannot find it in Windows list of programs installed, so where did it come from? Does anybody know.

Gulf Deepwater Oil Disaster.

Dear Carol,
Once again I ask, "Has foreign companies and countries offered help in the fight to clean up the oil, etc"? If so, why hasn'
t the president of BP and the President of the US accepted any help?

For God's sake, are we too proud to accept help from others? Are we afraid terrorists will be allowed to slide in and reek further havoc.

I for one believe that this blowing up of the Oil Rig and the subsequent failure of the blowout preventer is due to terrorists accomplishing their goals. It was made easier by the obvious negligence perpetrated by BP. All of this in the name of profits, profits, profits.

I can only hope that somebody in our supposed Homeland Security "Joke" are actually conducting a real live investigation. I'm betting that there is no investigation. I'm also tired of hearing nothing but rhetoric coming from our President Obama. Our so called Homeland Security couldn't and didn't respond to hurricane Katrina until 60 days after it's occurrence, and it has been almost 60 days since Homeland Security"Joke" responded to this disaster.

What the fuck happened to anticipating, planning, and training for the very worst crisis we can imagine?

I can only hope and pray that our military isn't this ill planned.

Oil Barons continue to defy need for catasrophic safety measures!

Reading between the lines in the NY Times article, http://www.nytimes.com/2010/05/13/us/13spill.html I say the Oil Barons were defying the need for governmental oversight and inspection of needed and required safety measures.
Paraphrasing the article it says that all training is internal, all safety reviews are internal, all safety devices are reviewed internally, in other words if it isn't checked "It's OK".

My comment is, "Government Oversight and Inspection is required here." It is also required in the Food and Drug Industries, the Forestry Administration, The Banking Industry, and the Stock Market.

Can't everybody see what has been happening? Our supposed Political Representatives are in bed and in cahoots with the Industry Barons, so that the Industry Barons can continue to do as they please, when they please, because they know we can't touch them.

Ask yourself, is this what you want????

FINANCIAL REFORM - EVEN THE REPUBLICANS AGREE WITH IT.

Financial Reform is needed, I believe just about everybody but the Banks and Wall Street Fat Cats say we need financial reform. See the article in the LA Times for a lengthy discussion on a Bill currently sitting in the Senate Banking Committee. Click here for the complete story in LA Times.

My opinion is that we need financial reforms including raining in of the out of control banking and investment firms. Currently banks do any damn thing they please, just look at the fees, charges, and penalties applied to credit cards, debit cards, mortgages, and all other financial missives you can think of. Free checking accounts are no longer free, savings accounts no longer pay any interest, no they charge fees if you don't have a certain minimum amount, and then when you do they charge to service it. ATM usage is expensive, anyway you get the picture.

Now the banks are reporting record billion dollar profits in the first quarter of the year. Are we being screwed, you bet we are. How in the hell did they go from requiring a Trillion Dollars in Bail out money, to record profits in one year? How, THEY WERE LYING, LYING TO THE PRESS, LYING TO THE PRESIDENT AND LYING TO YOU AND ME.

What can we do about it? Call your Senators and Congressman. Write to them, email them, Twitter them, keep doing so, make them understand that we want action, action that means something.

We want Legislation with teeth in it, and we want the existing bureaucracies to be given the power and the wherewithal to enforce it.

If they don't do as I have stated, nothing will happen. Don't believe me? Just look at the FDA and tell me they are doing their job, not.

I am pissed and I am doing as I say.

My question is: how do I get people to read it?
I have tried getting traffic with absolutely no luck. Not even my friends and family read it.

Well folks, now the Banks are foreclosing on homes they don't even own. See the article above.

You should know that this isn't the only incident where the banks are stealing homes. If you search the news articles you will find many more.

We taxpayers bail out the banks to keep them from bankruptcy and what do we get? ripped off! Are the bank CEO's and other management personnel arrested and charged with theft, NO! they aren't even slapped on the wrist.

If we get caught ripping off somebodies house we get arrested thrown in jail and fined.

Should corporations (Banks) be immune from prosecution?

I say NO, they and the people responsible for running the corporation should face the same laws as we do.

Does anybody out there have any opinions on this matter? I would love to hear them.

Politicians are Out to Steal Our Money! Again!!

I tried to copy the appropriate sentence from the above link. You'll find what I am referring to in the box titled related stories.

Without quoting the exact words, the meaning is that the Senators are looking forward to using the National Health Bill as a means of getting what ever their pet projects are, supposedly for their constituents.

I'll bet money that if we were to follow the money trial, that wherever the money goes in their home state, the outfit, be it private or government, will end up in the pocket of that particular Senator, one way or another.

The Senators icing on the cake will be the cash and other luxury items supplied by the various Insurance Companies and Drug Companies which they use to influence the Senators vote.

Follow the evidence folks. You will see that what I am saying is true.

THE CONNING OF AMERICA. WE'RE BEING LIED TOO.

You do realize we are being lied to?

We are being lied to by television, radio, magazines, newspapers, and pretty much all of the other news media in America. Why do I say this? It's a matter of actually listening to what the press is actually saying. The various news stories are not presented as an unbiased reporting of the facts. It is a series of statements taken out of context and presented as facts.
It is a series of biased comments on what the media moguls think the news should be.
It is many times nothing more than lies made up in the news room and made to sound like the truth.

PBS is about the only Broadcasting Media in the USA to give an impartial report on the news. The BBC in England also does a good job at reporting the facts.

Well I won't bore you any further.

Government Run Health Insurance.

Government run Health Insurance; is this really a bad thing? I keep hearing on the news and the internet that a significant number of people think that Government run Health Insurance is a bad thing. Well I am here to tell you that ain't so. Take a look at the Medicare program. It runs very well indeed. I have been a participant for 8 years now and this progam along with my supplemental insurance has insured that all of my medical bills are covered. I for one think that is marvelous.

Yes I know that there are a vast number of ripoffs taking place in Medicare and they need to be stopped. I know I report any suspicious activity that I find but that isn't nearly enough.

I was watching President Obama's speech to Congress yesterday and I believe he made an excellent summation of what he would like to see in the proposed National Health Plan. I believe his plan is pretty much what the majority of the people in this country wants.

I applaud the President for taking on the muck rakers and rabble rousers and calling them what they are. I also hope that the media was listening, because they are the worst ones of all.

We don't need Political Rhetoric, rabble rousing, or muck raking, we need careful reasoned cooperation in the writing and passage of a Health Program to benefit all of us.

One of the items that I particularly did not like was the response by a certain segment of the audience when the President said illegal immigrants would not recieve free health care. Who is it that thinks we should pay for the care of illegals?

Evidently there are a lot of people that think we should. It is no wonder that we have so many illegals on Medicaid in this Country, the do-gooders think they should recieve free health care and welfare. This sucks.

I pray for our Congressman, Senators, and the President to do their job and get a National Health Care Program in place this year.

NATIONAL HEALTH CARE! CAN WE AFFORD IT? CAN WE AFFORD NOT TO DO IT?

ASK YOURSELF THIS QUESTION: WHO WILL BENEFIT THE MOST FROM A NATIONAL HEALTH CARE PROGRAM?

At this point I don't profess to having any answers to any of the above three questions.

BUT, I WILL SAY THIS; IF WE ALL DO NOT GET INVOLVED IN THE WRITING AND THE VERBAGE IN THIS NATIONAL HEALTH CARE PROGRAM, WE THE PEOPLE WILL NOT BENEFIT!!

If you think I am full of b.s., just consider some of the things we have already heard from the pundits in Washington:

1. The health insurers will be required to provide coverage to everybody regardless of their existing health conditions.

Guess what folks, the Insurance people are given 5 years to comply! Why can't this be done immediately. All the five year delay will accomplish is to allow the insurance companies time to have the law changed in their favor, so the people not currently covered will never be covered.

2. Companies currently including Health Insurance as a benefit for their employees, will be looking for ways to dump their health insurance coverage.

Think I am kidding! Take a look at all of the automotive companies, airline companies, and God knows how many others have already dropped health insurance for their retired, and cut way back on what they offer to employees.

3. Taxes will have to raised somewhere.

Problem is nobody wants to pay the piper. Congressional and Senatorial representatives are not controlled by the majority of the people.

Why not you ask, because the majority is never heard, only the special interests are heard because they pay the big bucks to each and every congressional member for their campaign funds and for the good life.

House representatives and Senators are not writing any of this health care legislation, the lobbyist for the Insurance Companies and the Drug Companies are writing it. You can bet, it will be written for their benefit and their benefit alone.

Don't get me wrong, I know we need a National Health Care Plan. I can attest to that from personal experience. But, we need a Health Care Plan that will benefit everybody, not the Insurance Companies and the Drug Companies.

I hope and pray that all of you that read this will take action and contact your House Rep, and Senators and really, really let them know how you feel about this subject.

I would love for you folks to give me feedback, and pass this on to all of your friends.

Universal Health Care, Can Congress Really Do Something??

Universal Health Care would be a marvelous improvement to life in these United States.

The big question is; can Congress really legislate a system that will allow everybody to have decent access to healthcare? I really, really doubt it. As an example, look what congress did with Part D Prescription coverage. This has been marketed as a real benefit to the elderly, but is it? No It really isn't a benefit for the elderly. The co pay is $7.00 per generic prescription, while Walmart and other companies offer $4.00 full price for generic prescriptions.

The cost of brand name prescriptions is now $38.00, and that is only for those brand names that medicare approves. Medicare doesn't approve many brand name drugs. Add to the copays the monthly charge taken directly out of your Social Security payment and the drug companies are making a killing. Keep in mind that the cost of making even the costliest brand name drugs is only pennies a tablet. Don't believe me! Check it out for yourself.

No I don't have any recommendations as to how to legislate a new healthcare system, I wish I did.

UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE!!

You know folks, unless we all do something drastic there will be no universal health care for the good citizens of these United States.
Why you ask? Because the Moneyed powers are already stuffing the coffers of all of our Congressmen and Senators. Who are the moneyed powers? well that should be obvious; it is the drug companies, the doctors, and health insurers.

Think about it, why would these people want to shut down the golden goose that lays the golden eggs. Then of course for those of us with no health care, the lawyers and the justice system makes more millions of dollars off of the millions of bankruptcies being filed every month.

Don't believe me!! check for yourself. My wife and I are currently being persued by the hospital, the doctors and the anestheseoligist for tens of thousands of dollars because my wife has no health insurance. Nor do we have any assets, nor do we have any jobs, as we are both on social security.

When you do a google search on any of the above information you will be inundated with the corruption. Here is an excerpt from the New York Times that states exactly how I feel about politicians and the current Health Care System:

“The President promises shared sacrifice to make this work but never says exactly what that means except that the ‘wealthy’ will pay more,” Bill in Des Moines wrote.

Readers of the Caucus, many of whom have long advocated more fundamental health care reforms, including the creation of single-payer plans, seem to be growing pessimistic about Mr. Obama’s chances to push through effective legislation. Among these readers is Nick, whose comment about the details of many proposals encompassed complaints seen throughout the various health care discussions on nytimes.com.

“So, the grand Congressional plan is to require everyone to have insurance; else, they have to pay a tax penalty. They are saying, if you can’t pay for it; too bad. On top of it, if your employer pays part of your health insurance; that will be taxed as income, thus lowering your take home pay. On top of this, the health insurance providers can still operate with a hodgepodge system of different state regulations and coverage levels, still deny coverage, still deny procedures and still have reduced coverage for out of network illnesses (if they even provide it). In the end, if Congress gets their way, they will take a bad system and make it worse for the people, but better for the greedy.”

It may come as no surprise that the common thread linking recent nytimes.com discussions on health care is anger at health insurance companies.

“Right now – for 170 million Americans – we’re paying for [health care] by turning over billions and billions and billions of dollars over to for-profit private health insurers – who take 30 cents out of every dollar they get – and spend it not on health care – but on their overhead, payouts to shareholders and outsize pay and compensation packages for top execs,” Caucus regular Don Duval wrote to another commenter who sought to defend the private insurance system. “Can you explain to how the former CEO of United Healthcare walking away with $1.8 BILLION in compensation did not reduce the amount of health care their customers got?”

People, pay close attention to the italicized paragraph, it describes what the current health plans are going to cost each of us, our employers, and God knows who else.

Think about it people, our congressman and senators are not there to help us, the general public, they are there to satisfy their own greed and that of the monied powers.

We must take action, call your congressman, your senator, your president, your neighbor and your family. Let's raise holy hell.

THE DONUT HOLE? WHAT IS THE DONUT HOLE?

I am talking about Medicare's part D prescription plan. Talk about a ripoff, this plan is probably the biggest rip-off ever fousted off on an unsuspecting public.

What really makes this especially bad is that it affects us older folks on social security. We can't control the costs on this program, because we must either accept the program or reject the program. There is no alternative. So it gets jammed down our throats whether we like it or not.

This program is not free, it takes money out of our Social Security pittance amounting to $28.00 and up, and then requires a co-pay of $7.00 for generic and $38.00 for teir 1 brand name drugs. Tier 2 and Tier 3 drugs are not covered. So, as usual we get screwed every way we turn.

It is cheaper to go to Wal-Mart for their $4.00 generic drug list program, which I use by the way. By doing this I hope to avoid hitting the donut hole. The donut hole begins as soon as you and your supposed benefactor expend a certain amount of money. After that certain amount of money is spent, then we must pay full price for our drugs. ouch, ouch, and ouch.

Contemplation and Yard Work.

Here I sit contemplating the yard work done by young Demark and his Brother Willie. Demark and his brother live just about 4 houses up the street. They did a wonderful job on cleaning, cutting, trimming, and raking up the yard.

I tried doing the work myself but I can no longer hack it. My bad knee and my even worse heart just won't let me. I was worn out after only and hour of work.

I used to love working in the yard. I would plant flowers, bulbs, vegetables, and roses. I used to complemented on my yard all of the time. I sure can't make that claim any more.

Taking care of Claudia pretty much uses all of my energy. Love keeps me going with caring for Claudia.

It's hell getting old. It's like a roll of toilet paper the closer you get to the center the faster it unrolls.

President Obama Has Lost it!!

Well folks, President Obama has lost it.
Really, telling the CIA to stop using the torture techniques. Then on top of that releasing the techniques to the world at large.
I hate to see what our spy's and undercover agents will have to endure now that the information has been released to all of the people who hate us. I'm glad I no longer work as a spy. It was bad enough back in the fifties when only the communist nations were interested in capturing and torturing us. Now we have drug lords, Muslim extremists, hijackers, pirates, and a multitude of dictators wanting to get their hands on American citizens, even those that are not spy's.

People spying is a dirty business, and releasing the kind of information that our President has released is a really stupid idea.

Now President Obama's idea of reaching out to our enemies sounds like a good idea, but I don't think it is. Their are too many of our enemies that make a practice of cutting of hands and even heads. So is this really such a good idea?

I am really having a hard time keeping a cool head with all of this crapola.

Clayton County's Elected School Board.

Hi folks,

I know this is purely a local situation, but it appears that the current newly elected members of the Clayton County School Board are actually taking care of business.

By way of background for those that don't know, the previous Clayton County Board Members did nothing but bicker and argue with each other. During their entire tenure they did nothing, and I mean nothing, and did it in such a way as to lose Clayton County Schools their accreditation.

I believe this situation is indicative of the moral turpitude and of not accepting responsibility for anything, not even their own actions. These same symptoms are reflected in the behavior of financial people, and of Corporate Management nation wide.

Everybody is out for themselves and to hell with everybody else.

I don't have any ready answers for how to cure these problems, but I would sure like to hear from anybody with an idea that can be used to overturn or turnover these kind of attitudes.

Lawyer's Protect AIG Managers Bonus Money.

Believe it, Lawyers are telling AIG and the Treasury Department that we, the taxpayers, must pay $460 million dollars in bonus's to the very people in AIG Management that caused the largest financial failure in US History.

Of course, this should not surprise anybody, since lawyers are the ones that run our government in the first place. Greed and corruption are their stock in trade.

I fully expect to hear from many lawyers, denying that they are greedy and corrupt.

Then on top of everything else, the Government appointed CEO of AIG is saying that millions of dollars in bonuses must be paid to the remaining employees at AIG in order to keep the best and the brightest.

Now!! who would these best and brightest be? Are they the same ones that brought the company to its knees? How are we to know who should be kept at AIG and do we the taxpayers really need to pay them Million dollar bonus's to retain them?

We have over 8 million people currently out of work and unable to find jobs. How about we take the 450 million dollars in bonus' at AIG and pay each of the people out of work $1 million dollars each. That would be only $8 million dollars, not 450 million dollars. Sorry folks, I screwed up my math, $8,000,000 times $1,000,000 equals $8 trillion not $8,000,000.

And Yet! Lawyers want us to pay the guilty hundreds of millions of dollars.

Come on People, let me know what you are thinking!

I'm really pissed off about this and all of the other crap going on in our country.

WHERE IS THE BAILOUT MONEY GOING?

Well folks where is the bailout money going? I want to know. We the taxpayers have poured around $200 billion dollars into AIG alone and AIG still lost $60 billion dollars in this quarter.
You tell me! Where is all of that money?
President Obama you said we would have clear access to what happens to our money. Well where is it? What is AIG doing with all of that money, I really want to know and believe me when I say, so do the rest of the American taxpayers.

I heard somewhere that since AIG is an insurance company and they have been insuring those so called Mortgage Investment Portfolio's(MIP), is this where the money going?

Are the people that invested in all of those MIP'S getting there investment back from the insurance company? Then along with that we are also buying up the bad mortgages from Fannie May and Fannie Mac, along with all of the other banks? Isn't this double paying,(as in double dipping?).

I think there needs to be an investigation done by people that are not in any way associated with the banking, financial, or insurance business with the authority to find out where the money is going.

Somebody out there is getting rich off of the taxpayer's money and I want to know who. It sure as hell isn't the middle class people who invested their money in stocks, bonds, MIP'S and other financial instruments to retire on.

Once again where is it.
