The summer holidays can be a very stressful time and it’s even worse if the weather rubbish. Entertaining the kids is your main priority but what to do is the biggest problem. Luckily the Uk’s most vistited attractions are on hand to help with a host of fun activities…

South East

We’ll start our journey in the south east where many people come to spend their holidays here. London, the capital city of England, has a huge range of fun and exciting places to visit. The Science Museum, one of London’s most family friendly attractions, is letting families gaze at the stars as it is holding a summer in space theme. Make you way though the solar system, explore space and see a telescope made out of baked bean cans. There are so many out of this would activities to do!

The London Eye. People travel thousands of miles each day to step foot on one of its 32 revolving capsules. Throughout the holidays; they are allowing you to ride the eye at a reduced price as they have teamed up with EDF energy making it easier for families and tourists to explore and enjoy the city. Save money by booking online as well as buying joint tickets to other attractions in the area. This also allows you to keep track of your spending as we all know when you’re out money just seems to disappear.

When the sun does finally come out to play, head down to the beach! Yes London does have a beach, 70 metres long in fact on the Southbank Centre. Over the holidays you’ll find a row of colourful beach huts containing art exhibitions and some other great free events.

A summer holiday isn’t a holiday without its theme parks. Chessington, Thorpe Park and Lego land are one of the UKs best theme parks. Lego land, more for the youngest, makes the day more interesting with its themed rides which will defiantly put the smile back on those miserable kids!

If you fancy a day out at the coast then Brighton’s the place. Enjoy a day out on the beach; take a walk on the pier and explore the popular town. One of Brighton’s great attractions is the SEA LIFE centre which offers a fun and educational day out whatever the weather. Watch while giant turtles and sharks glide above you in the underwater tunnel and with over 150 species of sea life and over 50 displays you can be sure to have a great day out. Make it your adventure!

South West

Moving slowly west, why not visit the Isle of Wight zoo. Specialising in tigers and lemurs the zoo is an ideal family day out. Visitors can attend presentations by knowledgeable staff, observe tigers in naturalistic new enclosures and get hands-on at the new mini farm.

South west of England hold a whole new life of fun and exciting days out. Crealy in Cornwall is one of the south west’s best themed parks. Again, the park is for the younger families as it has a whole host of kids’ attractions.

As we all know, the south west is famous for its beautiful views and scenery, so why not take a short break to the magnificent county side. Go to many of the lush beaches which spread around the south cost. Where ever you are in the south you are never far away from a great beach!

Weston Super Mere is another great place to visit, with its Grand Pier only just reopening and its most recent royal visit it will surely be on everyone’s family outing list.

Longleat Safari Park is another must see attraction. The great drive around the safari park seeing monkeys, tigers, giraffes and loads of other wild animals. After why not take a short ride on the magical train or head out to the waters to have a ride on the small cruise boat. Why you’re down, a great place for the whole family to stay is at centre parks!

Wales

As we ride up on our way to the Midlands why not stop off at Wales. Gypsy Wood Park is an enchanting outdoor attraction for the whole family situated in the foothills of Snowdonia, North Wales. Really get you children buzzing by taking a trip to the tour of Wales leading Chocolate Factory and find out how chocolate is made. Learn about the fascinating history of chocolate, just how and where in the world the fantastic cocoa beans grown, Columbus’ big discovery and lots more.

Midlands (west and east)

The first stop in the midlands has to be Alton Towers, the Uk’s most popular theme park! Join Charlie on his fantastic voyage into Willy Wonka’s chocolate Factory, or test your limits by taking a thrill seeking, adrenalin-fuelled fight on their speed demon Rita. Launching riders from 0-100KPH in just 2.5 seconds!

The summer holidays are never what you call ‘summer’, so on that horrible wet day take a drive to Bentley Bridge Leisure Park. Its home to a wide range of restaurants; a multiplex cinema showing all the latest movies in true 3D quality, a bowling alley and lots more.

Uncover a world of heavenly chocolate by taking a trip to Cadburys World. Enjoy a fascinating, fun packed day out with fourteen amazing zones, there’s so much to see and do. From seeing how your favourite chocolate is made, to learning about the Quaker origins of the world’s favourite chocolate brand.

Take a journey in a state of the art cable car. Follow a guide underground tour spectacular show caves and explore over 60 acres of wooded hillside. All this at the heights of Abraham.

Excite the kids on the Seven Valley Railway where they run regular steam-hauled passenger trains to and from Kidderminster in Worcestershire and Bridgnorth in Shropshire, a distance of 16 miles. The best part of the journey is the crossing of the River Seven by the massive 200-foot single span Victoria Bridge.

The Military Adventure Park gives you the very best military style theme park on the Yorkshire coast! They have specially designed laser combat games as well as letting you drive one of their man tanks and shoot down there ranges.

Parrs Wood Entertainment Centre Didsbury offers the best leisure and entertainment in the south Manchester area. Also home to restaurants and cuisines, with dished to suit all taste buds.

Scotland

Scotland is a great family area. Buried beneath the paving stones of Edinburgh, lies the world’s most chillingly famous horror attraction. Step through its imposing portal and you are at once transported to the darter, sinister side of Scotland’s.

Why not take a ride on the Scottish Railway Preservation Society operates the Bo’nees & Kinneil Railway, which has been developing since 1979. On an afternoon where the sun has just broke through the clouds why not take a walk around one of the great forests in Scotland. The Durris, Fetteresso, Clashindarroch, Blackhall, Kilmichael, Knapdale, Galloway and the Lael forest are only a small handful of the amazing countryside.
