Windows 10 is coming this summer to PCs, and everything else later

In a briefing with media on Thursday, Microsoft Senior Vice President Joe Belfiore said Microsoft would indeed release Windows 10 this summer, but on PCs only to start. Since Windows Phone 8.1 came much later than Windows 8.1, the overall product cycle for phones is on a later track. Belfiore also said the arrival of Windows 10 on other device types — including the HoloLens and Surface Hub — would be "staggered."

When asked about whether Windows 10 would have a "release to manufacturing" (RTM) release — when the "final" software is given to PC makers, prior to general release — Belfiore was careful with his words. At some point Microsoft will give a version of Windows 10 for manufacturers to use as the build for new hardware, he said, but how that would differ from the upgrade that all Windows users will be able to download to Windows 10-ready machines (pretty much all Windows 8.1 PCs) is still being determined. He did say that if there is a difference between those releases, they would be weeks apart and not months.

Microsoft Edge

Windows' new browser finally got its official name at Build 2015: Microsoft Edge. It has a much more minimalist and touch-friendly design than its predecessor, Internet Explorer. Users will be able to mark up web pages and Cortana will be baked in. Even better, it will no longer have the bifurcated experience that plagued IE in Windows 8/8.1.

The main thrust behind launching a new browser is performance, and Microsoft claims that in tests of the preview software, it beats even the category-leading Google Chrome. If you had hopes of getting Edge on OS X or Android, however, you can forget it, at least for now: The company says there are no plans to bring Edge to other platforms.

Resizable windows and Aero Glass return

Resizable overlapping windows is returning with Windows 10, Microsoft confirmed. It's a simple but significant update for many users who have long complained about Windows 8's reliance on full screen apps. Company executives even made a joke about this during Thursday's keynote, saying the running joke on the engineering team was that Windows 8 should have actually been called "Window 8" because of it.

Another legacy feature slated to make its return in Windows 10 is the "Aero Glass" look that originally debuted in Windows 7. The effect, which adds a transparent background on the Start menu is already available in the latest Window 10 preview and Microsoft says it expects the final look will be "pretty close" to what's already out there.

Xbox live streaming

One of the new abilities of Windows 10 is the ability to stream games from an Xbox One on the same network. Microsoft says as long as your Wi-Fi is 802.11ac, there should be next to no latency, and checking out the feature on a Surface Pro 3, I'd say the claim is accurate.

5 tips to make Facebook Messenger work better for you

Whether you like it or not, Facebook's standalone Messenger app is an essential part of a full FB experience on iOS.

Below, we take a look at a few ways you can super-charge the way you use Messenger.

1. Mute notifications for a set period.

One of the biggest complaints about Messenger is the annoying notifications. You can manage these both in the app and in your iPhone's settings to ensure they are at a level — and of a style — that suits you.

To manage notifications in-app, head to the Settings menu (the cog icon at the bottom-right of your screen) to view your options. To change your iPhone's Messenger notification settings, go to your iPhone's Settings menu, and then scroll down until you see "Messenger" in your list of apps. Tap it, and then hit the "Notifications" option.

One really handy thing to know is that you can turn notifications off for just a certain period of time — ideal if you're in a new, noisy group chat for which you don't need constant updates.

To do this within the Messenger app, tap on the conversation for which you want to end notifications, click on the "i" icon at the top-right of your display, then "Notifications," and then select the time period you want to mute it for.

Alternatively, if you want to mute all notifications from all conversations for a set time period, you can do this from the Messenger app's Settings menu.

2. Delete a single message.

Rather than delete an entire conversation, it's possible to delete just one message within the thread. Simply tap and hold on the specific message you want to delete until you see a "Delete" option appear.

Bear in mind, once you've deleted a message, you can't undo.

3. Check if your message has been read.

Facebook Messenger will show you if your friend has received and read any messages you send. Just look for the circle icon that appears to the right of your display.

The chart above shows how the icon changes depending on whether your message has been received, delivered or read.

4. View — and hide — location data.

Messenger offers some interesting location services that are worth knowing about, even if it's just because you'd like to opt out of them.

If location services are enabled for Messenger, it's possible to see the location where someone was when they read your message. To view location data for an individual message, tap on the message. If the person had location services enabled at the time, a map will load showing where they were when they read it.

To enable your location services in Messenger, go to your iPhone's Settings menu, then Privacy and then Location Services. Scroll down to Messenger and toggle location services on or off.

Once you've enabled this, you can easily turn it on or off within the Messenger app before you send a message by tapping the arrow that appears at the bottom of your message screen. A blue arrow means on, while a grayed-out arrow means off.

5. Name and pin a Facebook Group conversation for quick access.

You can save your favorite Facebook Group chats for quick access under the "Groups" tab. All you need do is click the tab, tap on the option to "Pin" at the top-left of your screen, and then select which Group chats you'd like to save from the list that appears.

If you'd like to give a Group chat a name (so it doesn't show up as a list of Facebook friend's names), it's simple to change. Go into the chat, click the "i" icon and tap on the group's existing title (the list of names) to rename it.

The action slows a bit. They exchange lefts separated by several seconds. Pacquiao goes to the body, Mayweather holds again. Mayweather lands a big right to the face. Then, late, Mayweather does it again.

The $10 tickets for the weigh-in have already sold out, and many of them are on sale in secondary markets like Ebay with the price being marked up with steep prices, as if it were a fight ticket itself.

For boxing fans unable to purchase tickets to the weigh-in, they’ll at least be able to see the event by the live stream on Friday. That’s a huge positive. What to look for at the weigh-in is to see how light Pacquiao is. He’s lost weight due to him training hard and not eating enough.

Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach said that Pacquiao was down to 143 pounds on Thursday. With Mayweather, his weight is going to be fine. He doesn’t have problems making the 147 pound welterweight limit. What you want to see from Mayweather is to watch to see if he’s mentally there because he’s looked disengaged during the recent press conferences for some reason.

Mayweather has the look of someone who is a little burned out, and not mentally excited as he once was. For this fight, Mayweather is going to need to get excited in a real hurry once he gets inside the ring on Saturday night otherwise this could get out of hand quickly.

Pacquiao is really hyped up mentally for this fight, and he wants the victory more than anything. To Pacquiao and to Roach, this fight validates his career. Pacquiao won’t admit it, but that’s clearly the case. If Pacquiao can’t beat Mayweather, then he’ll have been exposed as just the No.2 guy at 147 all these years. In boxing if you’re not No.1, you’re nothing. Being No.2 is not good.

“I still believe that Floyd will be the victor in the fight, but I think it’s going to be a little bit harder than he thinks and a lot more difficult than Pacquiao thinks,” said former three division world champion Shane Mosley via Fighthype. “I think they’re both going to surprise each other. Mayweather has the boxing knowledge to stay right there and not move as much. I think Floyd gives angles. He’s not really a runner like he used to be at 130, when he was on his toes bouncing around and moving everywhere,” Mosley said.

Mayweather and Pacquiao are definitely going to surprise each other because they’ve both become so used to dominating their opponents during the course of their careers. This is going to be a fight where each of them will quickly find out that they can’t dominate like they did against the previous opponents that they’ve faced.

Mayweather has an advantage in that he’s had two back to back tough fights against Marcos Maidana in 2014 that he’s coming off of to help prepare him for the Pacquiao fight. With Pacquiao, he’s not really had a tough opponent since his loss to Juan Manuel Marquez three years ago in 2012. Pacquiao has fought Brandon Rios, Tim Bradley and Chris Algieri in his last three fights and those guys don’t compare to the sheer power and aggression that Mayweather saw from Maidana.

Facebook users donate $10 million to Nepal

Facebook users have proven the "donate now" button on the social platform is an extraordinarily powerful tool.

It has only been two days since the donation button to help the people of Nepal affected by a devastating earthquake went live at the top of Facebook feeds across the world. In that time, more than half a million people have donated and raised more than US$10 million in funds for International Medical Corps (IMC), according to Facebook.

Nepal was devastated on April 25 by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake, which killed thousands of people. IMC has been behind the massive global relief effort, as the capital of Kathmandu along with other areas, lie in ruin. The social network will also donate an additional US$2 million to local recovery efforts in the region, after agreeing to match donations up to this point.

Social media is becoming vital in times of crisis, with people using Whatsapp, Facebook and Instagram in Nepal to coordinate recovery efforts, to get help to the affected region and to show the world the mass destruction. The efforts by the tech companies are also a way to send a positive brand message to the world.

It is not the first time Facebook has rolled out such a feature. In November 2014, the social media giant used its platforms to call for donations to aid the Ebola crisis and in 2013, to help relief efforts after Typhoon Haiyan smashed the Philippines.

Facebook's founder Mark Zuckerberg wrote in a Facebook post that the efforts of users across the world have been "amazing."

"It is inspiring to see our community coming together to help people in their time of need. We're grateful to be serving you, and for all your efforts to support those affected by the Nepal earthquake," he wrote.

Facebook and Google both rolled out tools following the quake to help people find their loved ones. The Facebook-run "Safety Check" allows people to mark themselves as safe on their Facebook profile, alerting friends and family. Google also launched its "People Finder" where you could see the status of missing friends and family.

Facebook said 7 million people in the area have used the social platform to mark themselves as safe, and Google is currently tracking 7,600 records through its site. Various organisations have also allowed for cheaper or reduced call rates to and from the Nepal region.

The death toll for the earthquake rose again on Friday morning local time, with 6,134 people confirmed dead, Nepal's National Emergency Coordination Center confirmed to CNN. The number of injured people is 13,906, but both figures are expected to rise as the recovery effort continues.

When Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao meet at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas for their long-awaited fight on May 2, it is expected to be the highest-grossing boxing match in history. Revenue from the fight is tipped to reach a record $400 million. Here are seven reasons why:

1. Boxing is a money-making sport

Boxing's first million-dollar fight took place way back in July 1921. It was between American Jack Dempsey and Frenchman Georges Carpentier in Jersey City and the stands built for 91,000 were packed to capacity.

Since then, boxing matches have continued to generate huge sums of money, especially since 1990; ten fights have generated more than $60 million. Tickets for the fight start at $1,500 — and 1,000 of the best seats have been sold for $10,000. Most of the money will come from pay-per-view TV sales; viewers are paying $99.99 to watch it at home in high definition.

2. General growth in audiences

All the major sporting events have generated their best audiences during the last decade.

The 2012 Olympic Games became the most watched event in US television history — nearly 220m Americans tuned in over its 17 days. This is largely a result of the American TV lobby's power to dictate when certain events were held so that they could be broadcast live during prime time in the US.

In 2014 the FIFA World Cup became the most-watched sporting event in TV history reaching a cumulative TV audience of 3.5 billion viewers. And in 2015, Super Bowl XLIX became the most-watched show in US history, attracting 114.4m viewers.

So the media context for sport in general favours the economic success of the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight. As with the Superbowl, boxing is not just about the sport itself, but the performance and pageantry around it — which, fans say — gives it a particular entertainment focus.

3. Two big names

Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao are two of the best fighters and best-known of the past 15 years. Their fighting skills are indisputable. Mayweather is undefeated as a professional and is a five-division world champion. Pacquiao has been defeated five times, but he is the only eight-division world champion.

The two boxers are perhaps not at their peak. Before 2010, Mayweather won 25 out of his 40 fights by knocking his opponent out. Since 2010 he has "only" won one of his seven fights by knock-out. Pacquiao, meanwhile, has lost two of his last five fights compared to losing just three out of the 59 previous ones. But they remain two very competitive boxers and two of the biggest names in the industry.

4. It's the first time they've met

In economics, scarcity is a major factor that explains product value. Mayweather and Pacquiao have never fought each other and it is very unlikely that they will ever fight again after Saturday, as Mayweather intends to retire after one more fight in September.

This is a specific characteristic of boxing compared to other competitive sports: in football, Barcelona play Real Madrid at least twice a year and often more; in tennis there is a set timetable of tournaments throughout the year. Boxing matches take place on a far more ad hoc basis and this could be the only time Mayweather and Pacquiao face each other in their entire careers.

5. A long-awaited fight

Apple is known for its successful communication strategy with its iPhones. It is based on creating customer expectation with no information on the possible launch date before the very end of the process. Similarly, the long lead time in the build-up to this fight has generated huge amounts of customer expectation due to the uncertainty surrounding it.

The fight has been talked about since 2009. Six years later, after much negotiating, the expectation among boxing fans is extremely high.

6. Media hype

The media plays a significant role in strengthening the perceived importance of the fight for people. To do so, it relies on the reasons evoked above. They also stress the opposition between the two boxers; Mayweather is reported as only being interested in the purse while Pacquiao is portrayed as very much a man of the people and a national treasure for the Philippines. The American TV network, Showtime, has produced the four-part "Inside Mayweather vs. Pacquiao", a documentary-style series leading up to and covering the fight.

7. Uncertain outcome

Last but not least, the fight is worth so much due to its uncertainty of outcome. This has been the core element in the economics of professional sport since the first being studied by Simon Rottenberg in 1956 and Walter Neale in 1964. The latter presented the Louis-Schmelling paradox, based on an example from boxing.

African American Joe Louis won all of his first 27 fights, but unexpectedly lost his 28th against German Max Schmeling in 1936. While public had lost interest in Louis' fights before his defeat (meaning less revenues for Louis), the fact that he was not perceived as invincible anymore revived interest in him. Ironically this led to a rise in his earning power.

Promoters capitalised on this when setting up a revenge fight between Louis and Schmeling. It was won by Louis with a knock-out in just two minutes and four seconds — hopefully after all the hype (and cost), the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight on Saturday will last a little longer.

Bloody Pork or also know as a "Dinuguan" is a Filipino savory stew of meat one of Henry James Banayat favorite dish. One time when we did video call in Google Hangout, I was having my dinner then, and he asked me, "what are you eating?" and I told him, "Dinuguan!", he immediately ended our conversation call. When I called him back and asked him, "what's the matter, did I said something wrong??" he said "you're making me hungry!!!".. lol

That's the influence of Dinuguan.. Well If you want to learn how to cook this dish. follow the instruction below.

Ingredients:

2 lbs. pork shoulder, cubed

1 lb. pork large intestine, cleaned thoroughly (optional)

1 to 1½ cups pig blood

2 to 3 pieces banana pepper

2 thumbs ginger, minced

1 medium yellow onion, diced

6 cloves garlic, crushed and chopped

2 cups water

¾ cup cane or white vinegar

1 piece pork cube (optional)

3 tablespoons cooking oil

Salt and ground black pepper to taste

Instructions:

1. Heat the oil in a cooking pot.

2. Saute the garlic, onion, and ginger.

3. Add the intestine. Saute for 3 minutes.

4. Add the pork. Cook until light brown.

5. Pour the water in and add the pork cube. Let it boil. Simmer until the pork becomes tender.

6. Pour the vinegar in the cooking pot. Let it re-boil.

7. Add the banana peppers. Cook for 3 minutes.

8. Stir-in the pig blood and make sure to continuously stir during the first minute to avoid the blood from forming. Cook in low to medium heat for 15 to 20 minutes. I preferred to boil in 30 mins.

9. Add salt and pepper to taste.

One user said he is constantly prompter to re-enter his passcode to access the Watch, because the device doesn't sense contact with his skin — arguably a bigger issue than inaccurate heart rate monitoring.

And several users with a variety of different issues, including not receiving notifications on the Watch, gathered on a recent Reddit thread.

Apple updated the anticipated delivery date for various Apple Watches to July on Friday, one day after most products were promised a June arrival date.

The size most affected is the larger model — which comes in at 42 mm and spans both Apple Watch Sport and classic Apple Watch versions. The high-end Apple Watch Edition, which starts at $10,000 and runs up to $17,000, still has a June delivery date.

The move, which was first spotted by MacRumors — is likely due to the calendar hitting May and scooting the rest of the new incoming orders one month back.

While some customers have been receiving their ordered Apple Watches ahead of schedule, the news comes amid rumors that the delays have been caused by an issue related to one of its key components.

Earlier this week, reports surfaced that taptic engine — which delivers haptic feedback to the wearer — was defective in one of its early production runs and could be the reason why deliveries have been delayed for many.

Although Apple allegedly pulled a collection of finished Apple Watches that came from one of its two suppliers — and then moved all production to the second facility — the supply is much less than the company initially planned.

My Happy Family

Nobody said being a good father was easy. As a father, how do you show your children that they are important to you?

When I was young I experienced a little hardship from my father. He beat me everytime when I did something wrong. And I promise to myself that I will never follow his step or I will never hurt my children when I'm become a FATHER in the future.

Now, I'm a father of two lovely kids, and I remember the day when I was a kid and was experiencing a difficult time with my father.

Today, it's my turn to make it up to myself and give to my children all the things that was deprived to me when I was younger. I give a lot of my time with them, play with them, watch movies with them and let them play outside of the house.

These are the things that I never experienced during my childhood.When I'm not really busy I go out with them to walk in the park or go to the malls and treat them their favorite WAFFLES. Sometimes I tag them along if I'm going to visit my Aunts and some close relatives or friends.

Being a father of two barako kids is not really easy, especially when they are quarreling or throwing tantrums. Sometimes, when my eldest Joshua hit James my youngest, I get really mad and tried to spank him. But I realize that when I do that to him I'm just like being my father... being brutal. So rather than punishing him that way I just talk to him and tell him that "DON'T hurt your brother", and surprisingly he listened.
One day, I saw Joshua crying and asked him "Why are you crying", and he told me that James beat him and I was surprise that my youngest son is the one who started the trouble now. And I did the same discipline like I did to Joshua.
As my children grow up I am learning many things, the things that changes my life.Children are really hard to deal with, so you have to give your best to discipline them without hurting, and raise them properly.
Being a good father is a relief for your entire life.. but how can you tell if you are a good father?
Giving all the luxury to your child doesn't mean you are a good father. The best way to know if you are a good father is, if your child becomes a good son/daughter to their parents and grows up like a good man and knows his/her responsibility and that's the only legacy you can give to them "BE A GOOD FATHER!".
