New Scrapbook Memory Kit for November 2011

Well, I thought it was time to finally post to my blog again. So it would warrant something exciting to talk about. How about a new kit?

Yes, that's right. On November 19th, I will be releasing a new scrapbook kit. It features SEI Silver Valley. I love SEI. Here are the pictures of the sample layouts.

Also this month you can participate in another great scrapbooking event. Ecole Mountainview and I are working together once again to bring you a fundraising crop for their PAC. It is November 19th, coincidentally the same day as the kit release. You can attend the crop or stop by to pick up your new kit.

As an added bonus, when you purchase this months kit you can get as many of the previous kits as you like for only $10 each. It's a great deal.

A Big Birthday Card

Ever need a card where tons of people can sign it? Well one of the girls at work was having a birthday and I needed a card for 30 people to put in their well wishes, so I created this baby. Actually my Silhouette created it and then I embellished it. I have I told you how much I love my Silhouette. It's pretty much the best toy I ever bought for my scrapbooking and card making.

This first picture is of it all together.

I wanted it to have swirly embossing and it wouldn't fit in my Cuttlebug, so I got creative. I finally found a use for my rolling pin. I don't bake so I might as well craft with it. I put the card in the embossing folder, placed that on a silicone pad (probably could have used a mouse pad) and then rolled really, really hard with the rolling pin. I have to do this twice since the card it so wide across the top. Then I chalked the top or "frosting swirls" all over. Then I stickled the swirls using "Frosted Lace" and added blue rhinestones.

The tag was cut using my Silhouette as well. I cut the banner twice once in black and then again in green, but before I cut the green I put the words "hey cupcake" in the banner to that they would be cut out and the black would show through. The cherry is part of the original cupcake. I just added a pearl where the highlight should be. Happy birthday is heat embossed.

The cupcake holder is where the real work began. I started by scoring lines to make it ripply (is that a word?) Then I took three colours of cardstock and used the Cuttlebug swiss dot folder on them. Once that was done it was time for my circle punches. I used four sizes and randomly punched each colour. All the dots in the top wave are the same size and I put rhinestones in the centre of each one, except the very middle one. I put a pearl there.

Well, there is another creation finished and given. I have a couple of swap cards to post next. I'll try not to be a stranger and post those fairly soon.

My First Mojo Monday

Mojo Monday 133

I am pretty pleased with myself. I have been following Mojo Monday for quite awhile and I finally decided that I was going to do one and post it. So here goes.....

This is the sketch.

And this is what I came up with. This was actually one of my It's all in the Cards kit. Unfortunately this one isn't available anymore, but I really liked it and it worked out well with Mojo 133. The pattern paper is by Basic Grey and Autumn Leaves. Of course I used Cuttlebug embossing folders, because I love them.

Anyway I hope you like this card and you really should check out Mojo Monday's. I think I am quickly becoming a fan. I know you will too.

And I promise to try and post more often.

Another Valentine's Day Card

I made this card for my Mom for Valentine's day. It's a simple card and is actually much more impressive in real life. This cute little fairy is from Paper Makeup stamps and I think she is just adorable. There are many wonderful stamps over at Paper Makeup and I think I am well on my way to collecting them all.
Anyway, back to the card. I rounded two of the corners and the base is on Bazzill Swiss Dot in Salt. My Mom loves Swiss Dot. I used water colour crayons on the Lauren in Love fairy and of course I added some sparkle to her wings. And yes, I cut the heart vine with my Silhouette. I also took a black Zig and drew in the hearts just to add a bit more definition. All in all the card didn't take a huge amount of time by card making standards. About an hour I think.

A Valentine Creation

Happy Monday! I know I'm a day late with posting a Valentine card, but since I was giving it to my daughter I thought that maybe she should see it before all of you. So let me tell you about the card a bit. First I don't know where I got the dancing bear stamp from. I have had it since I start scrapbooking and I turned it into a cling stamp and now I can't tell anything about it other than it is cute. And you can't tell from the picture, but she has stickles on the bodice and two of the tutu layers.

I am sure you all recognize the cut out shape being the negative space from a SU top note die. I put it on dimensionals and adhered it to the front of the card. Now the card has a shadow box appearance.

Once again I was playing with my silhouette. The background swirl and hanging hearts are one of the amazing downloads you can get for it. And finally I added a few pearls for a bit of fun.

Valentine Creations

Have I told you how much I love my Silhouette. My daughter and I made some Valentines for her class. It was soooooo easy. I decided to use a Valentine treat box and ungroup it and take two of the layered hearts. I cut the colours (Bazzill Fussy and Glass Slipper)and then my daughter glued the layers back together. For a final touch she added a heart sticker to the center. Rather than adding candy we chose to add pink and red glitter pencils. It probaby took an hour to make and address the cards.

It wasn't a huge project and it really didn't take too long, but we completed it together and she was happy with the final product. I love being crafty with my little girl. We hope you are inspired to do a simple Valentine's project with your little cuties.

An Oldie, but a Goodie

Talk about taking a long time to post a picture. I made this card for Father's day 2009. All the products used were Making Memories Animal Crackers. I thought the sentiment of "king of the jungle" was pretty close to describing the atmosphere in my house some days. It's busy. It's crazy. And sometimes very loud and wild, most days I wouldn't have it any other way.

What I like best is although the line was designed more for baby boy's with a bit of creativity it works with other ideas. Check back again to see what else has been created.

Isn't She Cute

I just love this adorable little digistamp from In Style Stamps. I needed a snow themed card for a swap at the Canadian Card Makers yahoo group. So I whipped this little baby up. The recipient is lucky I almost changed my mind about sending it to her.

Time to start posting again!

Okay, I have to admit it. I have been a bad blogger or to be more precise a lazy blogger. And the really sad thing is I have all kinds of stuff to tell you and projects to show you. So let's get started.

First, I have an upcoming event. I am really excited about this. Last month I did a fundraising crop with one of the local schools and it was such a success and we all had soooooo much fun that more are planned. See that cool little down down clock to the right. It is counting down until Feb 27 at 10am. That is the next crop. Run your mouse pointer over it and it changes. I thought it was cute.

I am sure it is going to be even more fun than the last one. So you can get the registration info on my website or you can contact Ana Peasgood (she is one of the fabulous PAC organizers). Ana has all the info and she would be thrilled to sign you up.

Secondly, you can now sign up just for blog feeds. If you don't want the newletters but still want to see what is going on there is a link for FeedBlitz about half way down on the right. Simply add your email address and everytime I post to ScrapbitsbyTracey you will get an update. Isn't that just the easiest thing ever. Now you can cross off having to remember to check by because Feedblitz and I will simply tell you that you need to visit.

Thirdly, the clearance sale continues at the store I will be making some updates. There is bit of new product that has come in. Mostly I just want to send it all home with you. There are a few kits left and lots of other stuff. Take a look you never know what might be waiting for you to take it home.

And last but not least. I promise that by the end of the week I wil have shown you some of what I have been working on. Pictures may only be of my Christmas cards. But at least I'll be posting again.

August Kit Club Release

Well you've been waiting for this. The August kits. And drum roll please.....

Scrapbook Memory Kit for August features Basic Grey's Lemonade. The fun colours of summer shine through in the great patterns. You'll love it. Again I decided to feature two single page layouts rather than one double page and here they are.

The It's all in the Cards Kit features Cosmo Crickets Early Bird Collection. I just love these papers. I had a hard time picking just two cards to feature for the samples. I'll probably post more later. So here are those samples.

On a further note. August will be the last kits designed for both kits clubs and all remaining kits and inventory is on sale. Take a moment and go shopping at the store. July Kit Sample Layouts

Wow, did I fall off the blog bandwagon hard. I can't believe that I haven't posted anything for you to read since April. I should be fired. But I am going to try and make it up to you. I have the sample designs for July.. and I think they are pretty great. So here goes....

First up, let's take a look at the card kits. I have chosen Bo-Bunny's Calypso. It is such a happy, bright looking collection and very fun to work with. These are the two sample cards I created.

You can't see it really well, but I did score the front of the second card to create a frame for the patterned paper. It's so cool what you can do with your trimmer and a stylus.

For this months Memory kit I also used Bo-Bunny (sensing a theme here). But I choose Mango Luau. Now I will admit that the colours are not traditional summer colours, but this kit is great...if I don't say so myself. And again this month I did two single page layouts. Maybe for August I will treat you to another double pager. But without further delay here are the sample pages for the memory kit.

So I took part in a bit of bling swap with the girls over at Canadian Cards. And I has such a great time working on something just for fun. This is the card I made...

It was much blingier (is that a word?) in real life. And the shimmer was great. I also created a matching envelope. Didn't think to take a picture of that though. Oh well, you'll just have to believe me that it was great.

Sneek Peek Sunday...Well Almost

So here I am back with your March peeks for this months kits.

This months card kit is all about stamps. Imaginesce and EK Success. You'll love them. And I decided that it was time to try out Bazzill Swiss Dot. Pretty cool stuff. I especially like the way it get my frogs some extra texture. Check out this months cards. These stamps are all cling stamps, so if you don't already have blocks you will need to order some as they are not included in the kit.

I also decided it was time for a card with extra panels. Sooooo, the second card is a trifold.

For the memory kit I decided it was time for some 7Gypsies. I hadn't used them before. So now you can check out Nottinghill. And for some reason I have never done single page layouts. Not sure why, but this month you get two of them.

These are the sample cards for this month's kit. I choose imaginisce Summer Cool. I know it is a little early to think about summer, but I just love the papers. They are lacquered and double-sided. Very cool.

These cards have design on the inside, but really you have to admit it you're all more interested in the fronts. You can't tell from the pictures but the ice creams are lacquered and have a great 3D look.

And of course the Memory kit. You can always count on Basic Grey to give you wonderful, fun papers. This month we get to enjoy Bittersweet. a fabulous Valentines inspired collection.

I'm late. I'm late for a very important update.

So Sunday has passed and I missed giving you your 365 ideas for the week. That's what I get for hosting a crop, planning kits and trying to give meaningful scrapbook ideas at the same time. But here I am and I am going to give you a whole bunch of ideas that will take you through to the end of the month.

January 18th - Your very first job
January 19th - Your current job
January 20th - Your dream job
January 21st - Your first vehicle
January 22nd - Your current vehicle
January 23rd - Your dream vehicle
January 24th - Today's to-do list

Sneak Peek Sunday

Well I am very late today, but it is still Sunday. According to my clock I have 29 minutes to get this posted to here goes..... a sneak peek at the kits for January. The January Memory kit is by a fairly new company and one I have never featured before.... Black Market Paper Society. This paper has rich colours and a fantastic texture to it and it is double sided as well. So take a look at their "Lucky n' Love" collection. It is beautiful.

And of course there is this months "It's all in the Cards" kit. I have used the "Loves Me" collection by imaginisce. Yes, there is a theme for both of the kits for this month. But that's only because I am trying to help you get inspired to create a project for someone special, so you can let them know just how important to you they really are. These are the cards for the January kit.

Both kits are really fun to work with and I know that all of you will do great things with them.

Scrapbook 365 – a year of prompts to get you motivated

I have finally crawled out from underneath my rock my wonderful collection of scrapbook supplies and have become very aware of one of the newest trends in scrapbooking. 365 days of scrapbooking. The basic idea behind it is to create a layout for each and every day of the year. Since I know many of you love trends and the way they help shape your ideas and your albums I thought I would help you with 365 ideas for your pages.

Each week I will give you the list of suggestions for each day of that week. See I am working on my resolution to post to my blog more often. I will have to post at least 5 times a month now. 4 times for the 365 list and once for Sneak Peak Sunday, and if I revitilize New Product Monday that would give my 9 posts a month. I would be so chatty. For now how about I just work on the 365 list and Sneak Peak Sunday and build from there. So here are the first few prompts for you. And if you feel like sharing I would love to see your creations and maybe even get organized enough to post them here. Which reminds me I have a posting I need to share sometime soon, one of my wonder "It's all in the Cards" members has sent me photos of the creations she made with the August kit. Don't worry I promise I will post them soon.

Happy New Year!!

To start off the year I have a new look for both the website and the blog. I would love to hear what you think of the changes.

I am also in the process of celebrating my fourth year in business. So to add to the celebration I am having a huge, and I mean huge, sale. Check out the store for all the amazing savings. You are sure to find a great collection scrapbook and cardmaking goodies to satisfy your "needs". I know we never really need more supplies, but we always want more and I have "more".

I have also make some scrapbook resolutions for 2009. I don't usually get on the resolution bandwagon, but these are good ones. So these are my top 5....

1) Organize my scrap space - this should be easy. My wonderful husband is building me a wonderful scrap space. Not a huge as I would have dreamed, but there should be plenty of storage and this should help me create more often.

2) Create one personal scrapbook layout per month. I know one layout per month isn't really that much, but I really do have to admit that since starting my business I really don't spend much time on my own layouts - I share all my good ideas with you.

3) Post to my blog more frequently. 2-3 times a month really isn't enough. I should be posting 2-3 times per week. I think I will ease into it and start with once a week and build from there.

4) Create a new and updated list of blogs that you should visit. All you will have to do is click on the links and you will find even more creative inspiration. I am going to have a great time creating a new list for you to check out.

5) The most important resolution... it to thank each and everyone of you for being part of my scrapbook world.

Sneek Peek Sunday

Sneak Peek Sunday

So are you curious about this months kits? Well, they are great and as an added treat I have a second Memory kit available this month. You're going to love it. So here goes.....

Belated Sneek Peek Sunday

So sneak peek Sunday is very late. In fact this week I should almost name it "just about didn't happen belated peek Saturday", since by the time most of you read this the kits will be out. But I hope you enjoy them anyways.

The memory kit for this month is one of Crate Papers new collections "Prudence". It's sort of mellow, sort of Bohemian, sort of heritage, but not really. I can't quite put my finger on it, but I knew it would make a great kit. And I just love the way this paper feels. It has great texture to it that is subtle, yet still noticeable. So this is the layout I created with it. As always the layouts aren't hugely difficult in nature - mostly because I only have so much space to tell you how to recreate in my directions and I am always worried that what I am trying to explain may not make sense in any ones mind but mine.
