TURISAS Set For First-ever Headlining Tour; Tourdates For 'Paganfest: America Part III' Available!

Battle Metallers TURISAS will be heading back to North America this spring for "PaganFest: America Part III", their first-ever US headlining run! Joining the Finnish sextet on their triumphant return to the States is a gathering of bands from across the world: Scotland's ALESTORM, Rome's EX DEO, Russia's ARKONA, and the US's very own HUNTRESS.

In regards to this upcoming tour, TURISAS front-man Mathias Nygard comments: "It took time, but finally we had a chance to make it back to North America. After many successful tours there with acts like CRADLE OF FILTH and DRAGONFORCE during the past few years, it's great to return as a headliner. AUTOPSY Unleashes NEW Album Cover & Reveal Tracklisting For 'All Tomorrow's Funeral'

Death Metal founding father, Autopsy, has revealed the cover art and tracklisting for the band’s upcoming 22-track collection, 'All Tomorrow’s Funerals'. This historical album is set for a February 28th release on Peaceville Records, and will contain re-mastered versions of all of Autopsy’s past EP’s - everything from ‘Retribution For The Dead’ to the now sold-out ‘The Tomb Within’ - plus four brand new tracks.

Renowned artist, Matt Cavotta, has supplied the cover art, while all original artwork and liner notes will also be included in this monstrous collection.

IMPENDING DOOM has released more details surrounding their release 'Baptized in Flith'. The cover art, seen below explained by Bassist David Sittig, "Baptized in filth represents the mindless indulgence and self worship in the vile world we live in. This album is meant to scare the hell out of you!"

The band will release their brand NEW full length album entitled 'Baptized in Filth' on March 13, 2012. Produced by Machine and Andreas Magnusson (The Black Dahlia Murder) this is the bands fourth full length and most ferocious effort to date.

This Cruise is not your grandma's cruise. It is also not one of the cruises that share the ship with normal cruise guests. This is an all Heavy Metal cruise! Lamb Of God Unleashes The Beast At Their 'Resolution' CD Release Show In New York City - Full Report & Killer Images Available!

On Tuesday, January 24, 2012, Heavy Metal history was written in New York City. In celebration of Lamb Of God's NEW studio album entitled 'Resolution', 1200+ headbangers took over the legendary Irving Plaza to witness an intimate, balls out, and extremely ferocious set by Richmond, Virginia's Lamb Of God! The event was warmed up by openers Too Late The Hero and The Acacia Strain, which in our opinion did not do justice to what the Lamb Of God fans paid for (which was a lot of money). Of course everyone came to see Lamb Of God, but neither of these two bands have the caliber to be opening for one of the most important bands in the Heavy Music world!

With that said, once Lamb Of God took center stage at around 10:00 PM, the entire place exploded into what could have easily been confused with a warzone! The Virginia Metallers kicked off their set with a NEW song entitled "Desolation", which sounded way better than on the album. We've always said it: Lamb Of God is a LIVE band and their most recent recorded work does not do them justice.

One thing that sets apart Lamb Of God from the rest of the pack, is their level of professionalism. Even though they had a few technical glitches with their guitars, they didn't let this affect their performance and the overall sound of the band was pretty damn good. We personally believe that part of the problem was that their equipment is made for big venues and not intimate ones like Irving Plaza.

And then you got D. Randall Blythe, one of the best frontman in Heavy Music! While some of his band members are still getting into touring mode, Randy is ready for the bands World Tour in support of 'Resolution'. Sporting a NEW "rasta" look, Randy is proof that sobriety can lead to wonderful achievements. His voice sounded like it was infected with nails from the get-go, and never cracked. Not even in the most brutal parts of a given song.

All in all, it was a vulgar display of true Heavy Metal! Lamb Of God will be busy touring the entire world for the next few years, so make sure you check them out when they come to destroy all of your senses! And hey, make sure you pick up their NEW album 'Resolution'!

RIOT's Record Label Comments On The Passing Of Guitar Legend Mark Reale!

As previously reported, earlier this week the Heavy Music world lost guitar legend Mark Reale from RIOT! Reale lost a lifelong battle with Crohn's Disease. Here is a statement from SPV/Steamhammer, RIOT's record label.

"With deep sadness we have to say goodbye to one of the most underrated guitar players and composers on this planet: Mark Reale.

"With albums like "Fire Down Under" or "Thundersteel" he created timeless metal music which will stand the test of time for many more decades.

"Last years studio album 'Immortal Soul' on remains his legacy, and what an album it was: RIOT were back for the attack!

"We will see how the remaining members will handle this but we think that Mark would be very proud of them if they continue and spread the music he created.

Biohazard Unleashes 'Reborn 2012' Video Series From Their European Tour!

The highly anticipated ninth studio album by Biohazard is called 'Reborn In Defiance' and is available everywhere, except in North America. The expectations are high, and while many mistakenly thought that the band was finished once Evan Seinfeld (co-founder, singer, bassist) left the band last summer, the Heavy Music world will be caught in a devastating hurricane of musical greatness once the masses are infected with the NEW Biohazard!

Biohazard is currently on tour in Europe as part of their "Persistence Tour 2012", and so far they have taken plenty of names. Due to unforeseen circumstances the band has pulled the plug and the NEW album won't be available as a FREE download. Here is the bands official statement.

We love all of you who have continued to support us through the years and can't wait to share with you a record that we are extremely proud of. 'Reborn In Defiance' marks the first time in 18 years that the band records an album with their original lineup (Evan Seinfeld, Bobby Hambel, Billy Graziadei & Danny Schuler). The bands ninth studio album was Produced Toby Wright (Alice in Chains, Metallica).

CBGB To Be Revitalized?

CBGB (Country, BlueGrass, and Blues) was a music club at 315 Bowery at Bleecker Street in the borough of Manhattan in New York City. The legendary club closed its doors in October 15, 2006, after founder Hilly Kristal lost a rent battle with the Bowery Residents’ Committee.

Kristal founded CBGB in 1973, it was originally intended to feature its namesake musical styles, but became a forum for American Punk Rock and New Wave bands like Ramones, Misfits, Television, the Patti Smith Group, Mink DeVille, The Dead Boys, The Dictators, The Fleshtones, The Voidoids, The Cramps, Blondie, The Shirts, and Talking Heads. In later years, it would mainly become known for Hardcore Punk with bands such as Agnostic Front, Murphy's Law, Cro-Mags, Warzone, Gorilla Biscuits, Sick of It All, and Youth of Today becoming synonymous with the club.

Recently, there have been rumors that the club will be reopened at a different location. We personally believe this is a horrible idea, since what made CBGB's so special was its location and vibe. A vibe that can't be recreated even if they use the same exact bar (which is in a trailer in Connecticut), and every poster, chair, table, and screw (which are stored in storage room in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY).

Paul Bostaph's BLACKGATES Release Studio Update - Video Available!

As previously reported Paul Bostaph's NEW project is called BLACKGATES, and it features Anthrax's previous singer Dan Nelson, guitarist Jeremy Epp (The Venting Machine) and bassist Uriah Duffy (Whitesnake). The group is currently in the studio working on the pre-production part of their debut album. This is what Bostaph had to say about this NEW project:

"Our sound is drawn from all of our influences. Mostly, we don't want to be a Thrash Metal band, although we draw from that genre as well. There is something in our music for everyone. Heavy grooves, good hooks and Dan's killer pipes. I think we have an independent sound that will stand on its own."

Portland, Oregon's RED FANG are premiering their NEW video today for their song "Hank Is Dead", which is taken from their critically acclaimed release 'Murder The Mountains'. RED FANG worked with director extraordinaire, Whitey McConnaughy on the video which can be viewed below

Drummer John Sherman spoke about the "Hank is Dead" video:

"Another great concept from the brilliant mind of Whitey McConnaughy. This one came together super quick with the help of some insane Portland locals and their sick air guitar skills. We basically just threw a big party and had a blast while a bunch of cameras ran. That is my shower Aaron and Bryan and Bobcat are in at the intro, btw. It still has a weird ring around it..."

RED FANG are currently on tour in Europe with Mastodon. The tour runs through February 11th in London and includes RED FANG headline dates in addition to the shows with Mastodon (tourdates below).

Norwegian pissed off Deathcore band INSIDE I has signed a deal with label Wormholedeath/Aural Music for the release of their debut album 'Beneath The Circus'. 
The album includes 10 songs of pure sonic assault and was recorded/produced by Espen Hogmo and mastered by Christian Donaldson (The Agonist, Cryptopsy).  The artwork for the album was made by Colin Marks from RainSong Design.

HALCYON WAY Parts Ways With Rhythm Guitarist Zane Matthews - Official Statement Available!

HALCYON WAY, has parted ways with rhythm guitarist Zane Matthews. Zane left the band on amicable terms and HALCYON WAY wishes him the best in his future endeavors.

Zane spoke about his decision to leave the band:

"After 6 years in one of the greatest Metal bands ever, I have decided to leave for the sake of family and personal health. I have enjoyed my time in HALCYON WAY and it has been a life defining tenure. Me and the guys all remain brothers and I look forward to everything HALCYON WAY has to offer the Metal world in the years to come. It was a true privilege to write and contribute to the band, and to hear what was in my head fleshed out on the albums was a joy all its own. See all of you guys in the front row at the next HW show! I'm currently working on a project called "Bishop Lake" with an EP due out in Spring 2012. I also have a horror Punk/Metal band called School For Morticians slated to break wind sometime in mid 2012."

Guitarist Jon Bodan shared his thoughts on Zane leaving:

"As much as it pains us that our brother Zane has had to step away from HALCYON WAY, we have nothing but respect for his decision and wish him nothing but the best. We've gone to war with him for a long time, and he will truly be missed. Keep an eye out for his new projects as I'm sure they're going to be killer! We would also like to thank Eric Roberts, Rob Fisher from Void Of Reason, and Mike Perrone for filling in with us on several live dates when Zane's situation was a little unclear - you guys were a big help to us and we appreciate it."

Madball's Hoya Roc Discusses Bands Plans For 2012 & The NYHC Culture/Movement!

The Kings of New York Hardcore played a mean set at The Gramercy Theatre on Friday, January 20th in their hometown of New York City (presented by Black N Blue Productions). The Hardcore titans celebrated the NEW year in style, as they are gearing up for another year of Hardcore domination. Joining Madball were openers Maximum Penalty, Dead End Path, Suburban Scum, and The Last Stand.

As soon as Madball stepped on stage, the crowd went wild. The "kids" were hungry for some Hardcore, the real deal Hardcore that has been Madball's trademark since 1988. Madball performed a devastating set that had the whole floor shaking like an earthquake, a hurricane, and a monsoon, all mixed into one.

AS I LAY DYING are proud to announce that they will spend their summer as part of the fifth annual Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, the world's largest touring Heavy Music festival. The main stage will be the strongest ever with the headlining slot occupied by multi-platinum Iowa legends SLIPKNOT. Next up will be legendary Thrash Metal kings SLAYER and then a major special guest will be playing in the third slot whom will be announced on March 5th. The main stage will also spotlight a ferocious mix of today's best artists in a rotation, including THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, AS I LAY DYING, and ASKING ALEXANDRIA.

AS I LAY DYING will be entering the studio this Spring to record their fifth full length album and follow-up to 2010's 'The Powerless Rise', which debuted on the Billboard Top 200 Charts at #10. The band has chosen a producer and will announce more details about the album in the coming weeks. The album's release date is tentatively scheduled for this summer.

BLACK TUSK Announce North American Tour With Royal Thunder, Hull, & East Of The Wall

In support of their latest release 'Set the Dial', Savannah Georgia's BLACK TUSK have lined up a slew of North American tour dates. This run will feature headlining tour dates with support coming from East of the Wall, label-mates Royal Thunder and Hull, plus a string of dates supporting Prong and select shows with Intronaut and Skeletonwitch in March. The band hits the road February 4th starting in Durham, NC and runs through April 4th in Little Rock, AR.

In addition to the regular shows, BLACK TUSK will be taking part in the Scion Relapse Showcase in Hollywood, CA and three appearances at this year's SXSW Festival in Austin, TX. These appearances will all take place on March 14th seeing BLACK TUSK appear at the Pitchfork Showcase, Metal Sucks Showcase and Converse Showcase.

RIOT's Mark Reale Loses Battle To Crohn's Disease - ROCK IN PEACE!

Today is a sad day in Heavy Music. We regret to inform you that RIOT's founder and guitarist Mark Reale has ceased to exist. Here is a statement from the band:

" To friends and fans of Mark Reale and Riot,

"We are deeply saddened to confirm that Mark has lost his battle with a lifelong illness.

"Your thoughts and prayers are appreciated by Mark's family, friends, and bandmates at this difficult time."

Reale had been admitted to a San Antonio hospital in critical condition due to complications of Crohn's disease. Subsequently, he was not able to appear in the band's recent performances in the Northeast and aboard the 70,000 Tons of Metal Cruise to Grand Cayman.

May his soul ROCK IN PEACE!

Here are some facts about Crohn's disease:

- An inflammatory disease that usually affects any part of the gastrointestinal tract from mouth to anus.
- The symptoms include abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting, or weight loss.
- It can also cause complications such as skin rashes, arthritis, inflammation of the eye, tiredness, and lack of concentration.
- There is no cure for Crohn's disease.

Indiana progressive Metal powerhouse THE CONTORTIONIST is pleased to announce their upcoming run with All Shall Perish, Carnifex, Fleshgod Apocalypse and Conducting From The Grave. The tour kicks off in Oakland, California on March 29th and comes to a close in Sacramento, California on April 28th. See below for all current tour dates and stay alert for ticketing information.

“We’re really thrilled to be heading out with All Shall Perish and all of the other bands on the tour this March and April,” states guitarist Robby Baca. “This is a great tour and we’re excited to be performing with these bands. We saw All Shall Perish play recently and those dudes SHRED.”

THE CONTORTIONIST recently announced that they will be recording their upcoming full-length release at Audio Hammer Studios in Orlando, Florida with Jason Suecof and Eyal Levi (August Burns Red, The Black Dahlia Murder) in February. The new album is tentatively set to be released with Good Fight Music in late spring/early summer 2012. The band also recently announced their new endorsement deal with Ibanez.
