Now after a 10-year gap, Jones and Smith reprise their double act of taciturn, imperturbable K and fast-talking, streetwise J in the 3D Men in Black III. Etan Cohen (an Israeli-born screenwriter) has turned in a screenplay that takes the franchise in another direction, that of the time-travel flick. The moderately enjoyable movie begins as a parody of the Hannibal Lecter series with the vicious alien Boris the Animal (Jemaine Clement) sprung from his top-security jail on the moon to pursue his nemesis, Agent K, on Earth. A time machine takes both back to 1969, whence Agent J follows them, and ultimately the trail leads to Cape Canaveral and the Apollo 11 moon shot that year. Along the way there is some amusing fun of a conventional sort involving an encounter with Andy Warhol (I'll leave you to guess whether he's an alien or another Man in Black). The 3D enhances two spectacular sequences in high places – one at the top of the Chrysler Building, the other above the capsule of the Apollo 11. They'll have acrophobes shielding their eyes the way they did when Tom Cruise scaled the Burj Khalifa in Dubai for Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol.

Ever had one of those days when you thought that you would spend a lot of time searching around for really good computer bargains? I have had that experience many times and have found that I used to waste time doing endless and meaningless searches trying to find what I need. But then, I found a solution! Figuring out what to search for is half the battle won, but how to figure out whether the prices being displayed were bargain prices was another issue. So how did I solve that problem? Try and identify first what computer system you need to buy. This really can be a struggle if you are not familiar with computers. You can visit the nearest library to you and speak to a librarian to see whether they have issues of the Computer Shopper magazine. Not only Computer Shopper, but PC Novice and PC Magazine as well. I have found these to be quite useful and effective in helping me decide on the type of system I need. PC Novice is especially useful because it explains in layman's language what I need to know and gives recommendations on the alternatives to look for. Terms such as motherboard and peripherals are usually explained in detail. You should not worry however if you are not familiar with these terms. Just understand that when you go to purchase your computer, you may find an enthusiastic sales rep asking you – “so how much ram do you need in this computer”; “you think you may need an Intel or AMD processor?”; or, “how many gigabytes do you need for your hard drive? --- Huh??? The magazines I have listed above will help you a great deal but don't get lost with all the geek talk. You will be able to find complete systems available that will be sold with software. Some systems will be sold with the box – the CPU portion, and the monitor. Depending on where you are buying your computer from, the monitor may be at an extra cost. Some systems will be sold with a printer and they will try and sell you a host of other things which are not really necessary. My advice therefore is to first figure out what you want to do with the computer and do some research! Shopping around is the next best thing you can do to find the best prices. I usually look at three to four different quotations to see which one matches my budget. Most computers today will do what you want to do. You do not need to get the most expensive system especially if you will only be surfing the Internet and checking email occasionally, so don't go overboard thinking that because you saw you neighbor with this expensive system you need to have one too. Learning is a much better way to pass idle time than to do passive things like watch television or play video games. Your life will be richer and more fun as you spend hours learning new skills. You will have a great sense of accomplishment when the thing you have been hoping to do for years becomes easy and natural for you. Learning new things is also a great way to expand your knowledge and keep your mind sharp. Time spent learning by reading, for instance, is a great mind exercise and it can be enjoyable and beneficial. Consider children. From the time they are born they are learning new things day by day. How much do you know? Is there anything that you are curious about, something you would love to learn about? Whether you realize it or not, you are learning new things all the time. Every day you learn about the weather and about the people you encounter. You learn things at your school or your work. You learn that you feel better when you exercise and eat well and that you feel worse when you eat only junk food. It is pretty amazing how much we learn without even trying to learn. Do you rememeber when you were a child and everything was new and exciting for you? The smallest bit of dirt or seeing a new flower color could keep you busy for an hour. If you are old enough that you have forgotten your childhood, look at the children around you. See the wonder and curiosity that they live and learn with each day. Do you miss having that kind of approach to life? No matter your age, it is very possible to return to the place where you love to learn and experience new things. Take a close look at your life right now. Are you satisfied with the things you know? Are you constantly expanding your understanding and your knowledge? If not, now is the time to begin. Perhaps begin by making a list of some things you would like to learn about or activities you would like to learn how to do. Have you always wanted to learn a second language? Go to a local library and check out some books or audio tapes on starting to learn the language. Or perhaps you have always wanted to pick up a new hobby like golf or tennis. How to Act on a First Date

The key to a successful first date is to relax and just be the real you. If you try to act in a way that you think the other person will like, then they may start liking someone who you are not, and in the end you will wind up breaking up and getting hurt, so honest truly is the best policy, and in the end if you are just being you and it does not work you, you know they were not the one for you. Dating is like gambling at poker, sure a good bluff may win you a hand or two but you are not going to win the World Series of Poker by bluffing, only by playing the best you can. This is no different from dating if you make things up to try and impress this person they are not liking you but are liking the fake you and eventually they will see the two are no the same. Try to think back to the things you talked about when the both of you spoke on the phone and see if you learned anything that may help you decide where to go for your date, but if you do not have enough information about them to know what they may like you sometimes have to gamble and throw the dice, and hope you don’t crap out. The most important thing to do on a first date is to have a good time, the bigger a deal you make of it the harder it is going to be and the higher the chances of you making a jerk of yourself. If you are nervous before the date take a few minutes and take a few deep breaths and if this does not help then I recommend you do what I like to do in the casinos when my nerves are bothering me I simply have a drink. The alcohol in one drink will usually calm me down enough to concentrate. The key to having a nice first date is simple: Take her/ him to a nice place, quite but not too quiet, you should be able to hear each other but other distractions are also good for those uncomfortable moments. Do not take her/ him to a place where your friends hang out, this will make her/ him feel as if they are being ganged up on or they may feel out of place and resent you for making them feel that way. It is very important to have the whole night planned out already before the date and have a backup idea just incase. The tricky part is making it look like it was not all planned. Let's say you decide that you are going to take her for dinner, then after you want to take a walk on the beach do not just say hey after dinner let's take a walk on the beach. I would recommend you wait till after dinner and ask her if she wants to take a walk to burn off dinner and then take her to the beach. Then when you are on the beach take her/his hand while walking, this makes a physical connection between you and makes it easier later on when you go for your first kiss. Just remember that dating is a gambling sometimes you are going to get a bad hand and eventually if you play your cards right you will find the right person and win the jackpot.

Your Intelligence – IQ, EQ Or SQ?

How often have we heard others talk about how ‘intelligent’ they consider someone to be? Intelligence is a description of how good someone is at mentally doing something. Intelligence involves thought. Intelligence includes the ability to reason, plan, solve problems, think abstractly, comprehend ideas and language and to learn. Do you consider yourself to be intelligent? Schools and the education system would have us believe that we are only intelligent if we are able to solve complex abstract problems or remember facts and figures. I would agree that this is a type of intelligence and this type of intelligence is normally referred to as IQ or ‘intelligence quotient’ (a phrase coined by an American psychologist named Lewis Terman). A small proportion of the population has a high IQ and they find the academic type of learning and activities in school relatively easy. But the vast majority of people don’t. So where does that leave everyone else? Well, the good news is that IQ is not a measure of success. Most people with a high IQ do not go on to be as successful as their IQ score may lead us to believe. Most people with a high IQ take reasonably well paid, but routine, employment. Most are not happy with risk and rather limit their own success by becoming ‘comfortable’ and fall far short of what their potential suggests. There is another type of intelligence that may be more important to success in life and this has been publicised by the best-selling book “Emotional Intelligence” (or EQ) by Daniel Goleman (although the term was first used several years earlier by two academics - Mayer and Salovey). EQ has to do with recognizing, understanding, and choosing how we think, feel, and act. It shapes our interactions with others and our understanding of ourselves. It defines how and what we learn; it allows us to set priorities; it determines the majority of our daily actions. EQ is the capacity to create positive outcomes in our relationships with ourselves and others. These learnable skills create joy, love, and success of all kinds. Studying EQ it becomes clear that IQ has less to do with success in life than EQ. The good news is that we all have EQ and that it can be developed. We can develop our EQ to help us build our relationships with others, to use our emotions appropriately, to focus our efforts and to become more successful in life. EQ may be so important that it could be the best predictor of who will succeed in any area of life. Can we look beyond IQ and EQ? When you look at the world, do you see only space and time, mass and energy, logic and reason? Or do you also see connectivity and design, purpose and meaning, faith and mystery? In his book “What’s your SQ?” Michael Guillen has developed the idea of ‘spiritual intelligence’ or SQ. SQ considers your views beyond the materialistic living of modern life. Without spirituality it is possible to become very unhappy or dissatisfied with life no matter how much material possessions we accumulate. Can you be successful if you are not truly happy? I would argue not and that a balance of IQ, EQ and SQ are necessary for a happy and successful life. Are there any other forms of intelligence? Yes, there is another important theory on multiple intelligences and you can read about that in another article. To be happy and successful in life focus on your EQ and SQ. Humour, some say, is the fruit of life, and this is especially true when it comes to picking up on a girl no matter where the location. Make them laugh, and I guarantee, that you are very close to getting their phone number and even to getting them to go out with you. But, as we all know, making them laugh, is easier said than done. Precisely for those who find it difficult to come up with something funny to say, I am adding some funny anecdotes and wise cracks that you can memorize and then use in those situations where you need to get the girl in front of you to laugh. 1) The Prescription: Did you hear of the lady, who walked into the pharmacist and asked for arsenic? The man behind the counter asked in wonder, "What do you need that for? The lady calmly replied," to kill my husband." The pharmacist was taken aback," Are you crazy? Do you want to get us both into jail? And, anyway, why do you want to kill him? Go to a counselor. Get help for your marriage." The lady paused and from her purse she removed a set of pictures of her husband and the wife of the pharmacist in some very creative postures.
