Israel will supply an upgraded air defense system to India.

Israel signed the $1.1 billion contract Monday during a visit to Israel by the head of India's army, Gen. Deepak Kapoor, Reuters reported.

The state-owned Israel Aerospace Industries Ltd. has promised to deliver the Barak-8 tactical air defense system to India by 2017.

Israel is India's largest defense supplier.

The Monitor reports:

Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad sought to bolster the Islamic Republic's regional standing at an economic summit for Muslim leaders in Turkey on Monday, by declaring that a "new era is starting" after the "definite defeat" of capitalism.

Analysts say that Iran has had a legitimacy deficit since a disputed presidential election and weeks of violent street battles in June, and is now trying recover lost diplomatic ground.

"They've had a real crisis, of both confidence and appearance in regional fora," says Anoush Ehteshami, a professor of international relations at the University of Durham in England. "And I think Turkey provides a very neat way forward for them, given that in many Arab circles, Ahmadinejad is not very welcome."

Zbigniew Brzezinski sees U.S. President Barack Obama as "our Muslim," according to Washington insiders familiar with Brzezinski's thinking.

Sources say the Polish-born political scientist, who, as National Security Advisor to President Jimmy Carter, engineered the anti-Soviet, covert U.S. intervention in Afghanistan on the side of Islamist warlords and drug dealers, believes the United States is locked in a Great Game-like competition with Russia for control of "Eurasia," and Islam is the key to victory. Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan is the proverbial canary in the mine. Gunning down 12 soldiers and one civilian, and wounding 31 was not a random act of violence by an army psychiatrist who was slated to deploy to Afghanistan, an evil war in his mind, where American infidels are killing good Muslims. As the Virginia-born major told a female neighbor in his apartment complex, "I'm going to do good work for God." Hasan wanted, in his mind, to die a martyr, killing American soldiers who had been killing Muslim soldiers in Iraq or Afghanistan, or would soon be doing so.

There are tens of thousands of Hasans all over the Western world -- from Brussels to Berlin and from Burgos, Spain, to Birmingham, U.K. For them, Sept. 11, 2001, was a conspiracy cooked up by the CIA and Mossad, Israel's external intelligence service. Even though al-Qaida's Osama bin Laden and his No. 2 Ajman Al-Zawahiri have both taken credit for Sept. 11, countless millions are convinced they had nothing to do with the attacks on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon.

In 2001, prior to Sept. 11, Hasan attended Dar Al Hijrah mosque in Falls Church, Va., where his principal preacher was a U.S.-born Yemeni scholar name of Anwar al-Awlaki who praised the virtues of jihad, or holy war. He is one of 13 million Muslims -- or 1 percent of the world's total -- who espouse extremist beliefs about the United States and its NATO allies. Led by the United States, the West's Christian nations, as Muslim fundamentalists read the world chess board, are on a crusade to throttle the Muslim world.

Chinese Company Makes Clothing in Egypt

With cheap labour, investment incentives and unrestricted exports, one Chinese textile group has turned to Egypt as an ideal location to produce its ready-made garments, beating stiff competition at home.

The Chinese-owned Nile Textile Group has set up shop in the Port Said free zone, overlooking the north entrance of the Suez Canal, and developed an industrial estate now hiring 600 workers, 20 percent of which are Chinese and the rest Egyptian.

Cheap raw materials and favourable export conditions have given the company easy access to foreign markets.

It's a bargain for the Nile Textile Group, which imports 60 percent of its basic products tax free and then sends them outside Egypt, mainly to the United States.

Most of their cut-price clothes are now labelled "Made in Egypt" rather than "Made in China".

Following Obama's visit to Turkey as part of his outreach to the so-called Muslim world, the country's crypto-Islamist government is trading a traditional alliance with Israel for ties to Islamist Iran and its secular but rapidly Islamizing Arab ally, Syria. This has not stopped Obama from pushing Turkey's bid for EU membership, even though the United States has no legitimate basis for interfering in internal EU affairs.

China Confidential analysts assert the Obama administration has warned Turkey's military, historically, the guardian of the country's secular system, against even thinking about making any moves to oust the enemy within.

Regarding the anti-Israel tilt, Ilan Berman reports:

In mid-October, the Turkish government formally announced that it had canceled Anatolian Eagle, a major joint exercise with Israel's air force as well as U.S. and NATO forces, in protest over Israel's Gaza offensive last winter. The news was as dramatic as it was disheartening. Just a decade ago, the strategic bonds between Jerusalem and Ankara were strong and vibrant, encompassing military and political cooperation and animated by a shared perception of post-Cold War regional threats. That partnership, in turn, was nurtured by a West eager to secure a pro-Western pivot in the historically inhospitable Middle East. And Anatolian Eagle, a cooperative air force drill designed to enhance training and interoperability between the Israeli and Turkish militaries, was a large part of the strategic partnership formally codified between the two countries in 1996.

Today, however, that warmth is just a distant memory. Since taking power in fall 2002, Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) slowly but surely has steered its country away from partnership with Israel.

Part of the reason has been political. The strategic entente with Israel was the brainchild of the AKP's chief political rival, Turkey's fiercely secular military and defense establishment. Predictably, therefore, it has become a political football in the tug-of-war for domestic primacy between the Islamist AKP and its nationalist detractors.

But the significance of Turkey's anti-Israeli turn is more than merely local. Rather, the widening rift between Jerusalem and Ankara is a troubling manifestation of Turkey's eastward drift. That is because the country that once ranked as the West's most dependable partner in the Muslim world has increasingly drifted into alignment with some of the Middle East's most troublesome regimes.

China Confidential analysts add that Obama is actually pleased with the tilt, influenced by advisers who want to relegate Israel to ghetto-like, second-class (dhimmi) status in the Muslim-dominated region. Seeing Israel as a mistake that should never have been allowed to happen in the first place, the Obama team believes the Jewish State should not have a foreign policy, should probably not even belong to the United Nations.

A somewhat protected (perhaps), barely tolerated, mini-state, hemmed into its pre-1967, "Auschwitz lines," in the words of the late (dovish) Israeli foreign minister, Abba Eban, is Obama's vision--for starters. In fact, Zbigniew Brzezinski, Samantha Power, and other Israel-hating Obama advisers aim to transform Israel into a city-state--greater Tel Aviv minus the Galilee and the Negev. The final solution to the Middle East conflict, in their twisted view, is a weakened, autonomous Israel, no longer truly sovereign, stripped of its presumed nuclear arsenal, slated for withering away and dying and/or annihilation.

And American Jews, to their great discredit and shame, voted overwhelmingly for Obama....

Perfidy!

None Dare Call it Islamist Terror

On Thursday afternoon, a radicalized Muslim US Army officer shouting, "Allahu akbar!" ("God is great!") committed the worst act of terror on American soil since 9/11. And no one wants to call it an act of terror or associate it with Islam.

What cowards we are. Political correctness killed those patriotic Americans at Fort Hood as surely as the Islamist gunman did. And the media treat it like a case of nondenominational shoplifting.

This was a terrorist act. When an extremist plans and executes a murderous plot against our unarmed soldiers to protest our efforts to counter Islamist fanatics, it's an act of terror. Period.

When the terrorist posts anti-American hate speech on the Web; apparently praises suicide bombers and uses his own name; loudly criticizes US policies; argues (as a psychiatrist, no less) with his military patients over the worth of their sacrifices; refuses, in the name of Islam, to be photographed with female colleagues; lists his nationality as "Palestinian" in a Muslim spouse-matching program and parades around central Texas in a fundamentalist playsuit -- well, it only seems fair to call this terrorist an "Islamist terrorist."

But the president won't. Despite his promise to get to all the facts. Because there's no such thing as "Islamist terrorism" in ObamaWorld.

And the Army won't. Because its senior leaders are so sick with political correctness that pandering to America haters is safer than calling terrorism "terrorism."

And the media won't. Because they have more interest in the shooter than in our troops -- despite their crocodile tears.

On July 4th 2002 a Muslim taxi driver in Los Angeles shot to death two people at the El Al terminal in LAX and three more were wounded. For weeks thereafter Psychologists and Psychiatrists wondered why this apparently peaceful man had killed these people. But the answer was very clearly pinned to his front door that morning. A note on the door said simply “Read the Koran.”

A few years earlier a Muslim soldier Hassan Akbar in Kuwait hurled a grenade into a tent full of American Soldiers. Two officers were killed and 14 injured. Everybody wondered what prompted him to do it. Simple, he had been reading the Koran and he believed those soldiers were his enemies.
