Decline in Crimes, Road Accident, and pollution due to Corona Virus.

1. Crimes:

Just after the lockdown a huge decline in crime as been recorded. For example, in Delhi 80% decline in crimes had been noticed. In Uttar Pradesh, crimes has reduced by 60%. In New York city and Chicago the crime rate had decreased by 16.6% and 29.6% respectively. In UK 20% decline is recorded.

2. Road Accident:

Before Pandemic, According to 2018 data 377 people lost their life every day due to road mishaps in India. In America, more than 38,000 people die in crashes each year.

Just after the lockdown in America road mishaps had decreased by half.

In India, there is not correct data but according to traffic police department many lives had been saved due to lockdown.

3. Pollution

Wuhan, China

Pollution is a thing that you can even observe. The above picture is from Wuhan, China. you can clearly see the effect of lockdown.

PM2.5: according to WHO around 4 millions people die due to PM2.5 every year.

But after lockdown according to the research done by Standford University, Coronavirus Lockdown had saved the lives of 77,000 in China, just by reducing pollution.

Concentration of NO2 had been decreased all over the world. River such as Yamuna and Ganga are also improving. Research shows that one of the world's most polluted river Ganga had improved by 30%.

Conclusion:

So we are finding that coronavirus is saving millions of lifes from crimes, accidents and deaths.

but at what cost. Till now 1.4 millions people had died due to COVID-19. And numbers are increasing furiously.

Bad things:

Deaths: above 8000 people had died in all across the world. Over 2 lakh are infected including various celebs and minister.

Economy: everything had come to a still, corona is knocking down the struggling economy of the world. Share market is crawling on the floor. Private sectors are living their nightmare.

International Relationship: Every country is trying their best to fight from corona. Many had preferred being isolated from the rest of the world. To quarantine the country from the rest of the world many countries had canceled visas, and many submit meetings. But canceling visas are pinching some global leaders. And till now some leaders are thinking that countries like USA and India are over-reacting.

Sports: Did not need to mention. Many sports lover are disappointed by this holiday package in which they had to miss their favorite tournaments. Personally cancellation of IPL broke my heart.

Nightmare for daily wagers: For someone corona virus is just resulting in a business loss but some people are there who are having difficulty to survive. I am talking about daily wagers. Friends I have a personal request, I know it is a foolishness to buy roadside products but I urge to buy them not for you but give them to those who may need it. Because there are some people who are likely to die of starving more than corona.

Education System: if you are a student or you had a student in your home than you can understand it better. Various Exams are cancelled, schools. Colleges are closed.

Good things:

Oil prices: Due to the outbreak, consumption of crude oil had decreased. So due to more than enough supply of crude oil, its price is decreased unbelievably. Oil suppliers such as Russia, Saudi Arab, and Iran could decrease its supply but due to some political reason they are not. And oil consuming countries like India, china, Japan are finding it as a lottery.

Pharmacy Industry: do I need to elaborate it? (Comment below)

Online Entertainment Industry: people finding it the perfect time to watch all movies and web series present in there bucket list. So if you are a you tuber than you can find a tremendous hike in your views.

Online education: Many institute and especially coaching institute can't take risk with their job. They prefer online education by connecting their students via internet.

Corona as a mob drill: believe it or not but corona is much weaker virus than all those that humanity had suffered in the history. And scientists are very much sure about the fact that there are innumerous numbers of viruses that are present in this planet and are pretty much stronger. So we can say that fighting corona is a kind of mob drill that we are practicing. So please do not forget all those measures that you are taking now, who knows you might need them in future.

It was 1990, when first-ever batch of female cadet joined Officer Training Academy, Chennai. After sometime, only available commission for women was SSC (Short Service Commission), means they could only pursue a carrier of 14 years in armed forces. Where as male officers can receive PC (Permanent Commission) just after five year.

In 12 March 2010, Delhi high court gave a judgement allowing female officers to choose PC. But just after few months of verdict, Center moved to supreme court against the verdict with certain points.

Then in 2011, after a long legal battle, government allowed women officers to seek PC in judge advocate and educational branches of three services.

In May 2018, new government tells apex court to grant PC to female offices in several other services.

25 Feb 2019, PM Modi announced that now female officers can opt for PC in total 10 combat support arms/services including signals,engineers, army aviation, air defense, EME, army service corps, army ordnance corps & intelligence. But women with more than 14 years of service can't avail it.

17 Feb 2020, This time SC made it clear that female officers under SSC could opt for PC if they are in those non combat arms. And now women can also get to command posts or units.

Points given by government in 2010 (against the decision)

1. Way of life:

“Profession of arms is not just a profession but a way of life beyond the call of duty”

The above line was written in the appeal. We all are aware of life of Army personal. The attitude of serving nation at any cost sometimes also affects their family's emotion. Even in some cases Soldiers don't even get to see their family for years. So its mother who insure proper nourishment and education. Therefore motherhood and even prolonged absence due pregnancy are the challenges in front of females.

2. Troops are not yet mentally schooled:

“Composition of rank and file being male predominantly drawn from the rural background with prevailing societal norms, troops are not yet mentally schooled to accept women officers in command of units”. It explained that “a soldier relies heavily on his physical prowess to engage in combat”

3. Inherent physiological differences:

“Officers have to lead from the front. They should be in prime physical condition to undertake combat tasks. Inherent physiological differences between men and women preclude equal physical performance resulting in lower physical standards. Physical capacity of women officers in the Indian Army remain a challenge for command of units”

4.Environmental and physiological realities of Army posting:

They also talked about harsh conditions e.g. difficult terrains, isolated posts and adverse climate conditions coupled with places with internal threats like North East and J&K. They said

“These conditions have a major bearing on the employment of women officers in light of their physiological conditions accentuated by the challenges of confinement, motherhood and childcare”

In the section “stereotypes and women in the armed forces” Court clearly lamented submissions by center related to pregnancy and motherhood considering it as a sex stereotype.

“The time has come for a realisation that women officers in the Army are not adjuncts to a male dominated establishment whose presence must be ‘tolerated’ within narrow confines,”

Court also discussed argument based on physical strength and weakness in the “social context of marriage and family”. Saying that its against article 14 which brings equality before law. And all the points given by Center can't deny women from pursuing PC in armed forces.

After a huge struggle to find a topic for my new post now I am ready with a thing which is more than a topic.

In this post we will go threw topics that will definitely enhance your knowledge and idea of terrorism. And if you are looking for an article which could help you for your SSB or any other examination's preparation then you are in correct place. Lets start with the definition of terrorism.

Definition of Terrorism

I don't know that its bizarre or not. But there is not any universal definition for the term 'Terrorism'. But don't be disappointed lets go with definitions by different countries. I will not go with the definition by all countries. but if you want then they are available at Wikipedia. Lets go with the definition by the worlds biggest economy USA. before that I would like to mention the definition by Argentina.

According to USA, any act of violence in the pursuit of any ideological objectives, it can be political, religious or social done by any non-state actors (not from government) comes under Terrorism.

But what about war or any punishment for peace. So for that there is an exception. They says

"Wartime (including a declared war) or peacetime acts of violence committed by a nation state against another nation state regardless of legality or illegality and are carried out by properly uniformed forces or legal combatants of such nation states".

Even self defense comes under these exception.

And if we look at the history then we would find that the term Terrorism was originally used to describe the act done by Jacobin Club during the Reign of Terror in French Revolution.

Now, I hope all above definitions are enough to summarize your thoughts over terrorism. For our better understanding towards terrorism lets move on next topic.

Cause of terrorism

What is the root cause behind the fact that so many people are ready to die for killing another group of people or any individual. The most interesting thing about these causes is that it could change many people's way of looking at terrorism. Because we can't forget that our great Freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh had also been mentioned as terrorist in many history books. So to clear our all doubts lets see the all the causes of terrorism.

Political Cause:

We could find many political cause innumerable times in history. Its does not matter at all that those causes were right or wrong, because its totally depends upon your opinion. Intentions of getting liberation from ruling government, intentions of spreading a particular ideology e.g. Communism, Democracy,etc, as well as intentions of spreading hatreds against a particular group or any individual person are several examples of political cause of terrorism.

Regional Cause:

We can't ignore this factor as it was responsible for killings of millions. Terms such as jihad (holly war or struggle) had used by many rulers from history including mongol emperor Babur to kill millions of people.Till now we could see many terrorist groups known for their religious objective. I am not talking about a single religion, we could find many incident by different groups claiming their different religious ideology.

Poverty, economy:

This could look a bit confusing but it is not at all difficult to understand. Most of the time we can't find poverty as a root cause of terrorism. But we can't deny the fact that it's a motivation for lots of terrorists. Many a times it was found that many sleepers cells or assassins had committed the crime because of money.

Psychological Cause:

There was an outstanding research done by many great psychologists over terrorism. Actually I don't want to increase the length of this blog so pardon me for not describing this point. How to tackle Terrorism?

I am not going to add my personal ways to tackle. All the following points are from various organisation and according to their opinion.

1. Promoting the implementation of the international legal framework against terrorism and enhancing international legal co-operation in criminal matters related to terrorism;

2. Countering violent extremism and radicalization that lead to terrorism, following a multidimensional approach;

3. Countering the use of the Internet for terrorist purposes;

4. Promoting dialogue and co-operation on counter-terrorism issues, in particular, through public-private partnerships between State authorities and the private sector (business community, industry), as well as civil society and the media;

5. Strengthening national efforts to implement United Nations Security Council resolution 1540 (2004) on non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction;

6. Strengthening travel document security; and

7. Promoting and protecting human rights and fundamental freedoms in the context of counter-terrorism measures

8.Preventing and suppressing the financing of terrorism.

INDIAN EDUCATION SYSTEM

Why India needs Education?

India has the largest number of youth in the world. Youth, if guided properly can even achieve the impossible. On the other hand, if this power is not handled properly, it may turn into a destructive force. Need of the hour is to educate the young people because these are the same people who will become leaders in the future and they will be the ones who will decide the fate of India.

Changes in education system

From the Gurukuls in early centuries to today's convent schools, education system in India has undergone a lot of changes. Today in modern times, we need a proper education system which promotes not only academic but overall growth of a child. Considering the scenario these days, it becomes even more important to have an education system which develops a person morally, intellectually, physically, emotionally and academically.

Education in India has seen significant progress in the last decade. With increasing progress, challenges also increase. Low level of learning and dropout rate has been a major challenge. The government has been implementing new policies and revising the curriculum but is that enough?

Work done by government

We all are aware of loose approaches by many Indian government towards education in past. But there are some policies by government which had made some impact.

Right of children to free and compulsory education act 2009 made education for children from 6 to 14 years of age absolutely free. India has the largest number of school going children in the world.

Various skill development initiatives under Skill India, is playing a major role in skill development. Under the skill India initiative, around 10 million youth are being trained annually.

Online education is being promoted so that people in remote areas may get access to education feasibly. More investments are being done. More internships will be provided to fresh engineers and much more.

Evaluation patterns such as CCE had also impacted our education system for many years. However CEE was launched with the purpose of involving students into co-curriculum activities but then also it was criticized by many. Thus CEE was removed by CBSC in 2018.

India is all set to become the highest working age population in the world around 2030. India also has the largest English speaking workforce. New programs are still being brought into effect to make the education better. With the 2020 annual budget, we may get to see a new education policy.

What is the Problem?

Carrier oriented Education

Our education is more carrier oriented than based on interest and curiosity. Often it is seen that a student opts for a certain field only because of easy availability of jobs. Students are afraid to follow their passion because of family pressure or whatever reason. Lack of proper guidance is also responsible for all this.

Quantity over Quality

Around 27% of the youth are excluded from education, employment, etc. There are almost 35000 institutes of higher education in India but India still faces the challenge of unemployability - a state where a student is educated but not eligible for a job. Higher education in many institutions does not give proper emphasis on research work. Many don't even have well maintained practical labs. Except for top 5% institutions, most don't have permanent faculty. This leads to disturbance in student-teacher ratio. In some cases, there are no teachers at all.

Reality of Government Schools
Only 5% of government schools have all the facilities mentioned in the 2009's act. Teachers are appointed in papers but absent in reality. And according to a survey there are almost 11 lakh untrained teachers present in Government schools. Around 60% of schools don't have playgrounds, limiting the scope of physical development of students. A study shows that more than 50% of these schools don't have any proper facility of drinking water.

Conclusion:

Now a days we could see some work done by many state governments such as Delhi, Goa, Kerela, etc. but If you are an Indian then nobody knows better than you about the harsh reality of this system. we had 31 million unemployed people. There could be many factors behind it as mentioned above. But what about you? If you are among unemployed youth or those who are becoming the victim of this system then what should you do?

Criticizing government will not change your life. At the end of the day the reality is it's you and your life. you have to decide that how could you transform your life.

It is clearly known that AAP (Aam Aadmi Party) had never used any ugly politics such as using caste or religion for votes. Then what is the reason that every body is so sure of their wining.

Following are some points which gives us reason behind AAP's upcoming success.

It seems that AAP are well aware that proper education leads to real development. That's why we could see drastic change in budget for education which leads to improvement of government schools, and fee structures. At present, whole country is suffering from poor economic growth, where as there is Delhi which is enjoying high economic growth rate of 8 to 8.7%.

4. Employment Growth:

Mumbai was always known for its huge job opportunities. But just after a year of AAP government, Delhi took away the crown. Although at present, Delhi's unemployment rate increased. but looking at country's present employment growth Delhi is performing good

5. Steps on Pollution:

Although Delhi's Air Quality Index is still poorest in the world, but then also we can't blame AAP government for not taking steps against it. 6. Background of Arvind Kejriwal:

Although above mentioned points are enough for reasoning AAP's win. Then also we would like to add this point. He is well known for his support towards Anna Hazzare's strike against corruption. And his biggest plus point that attract today's youth is his educational qualification. He took IIT-JEE with All India Rank of 563. And yes we can't blame AAP government for protests such as JNU or Shaheen Bagh. Because they don't have the power over 'laws and order' and even police. Both the entities are controlled by LG of Delhi (representative of central government). .

CAA and NRC, Should we protest against it or support it?

Since the time when Amit Shah entered the parliament with CAB it experienced a huge opposition from political leaders as well as people. But what I found is that in between this critical condition of our country neither government nor protesters had placed their points clearly. It seems that they had used a simple trick that “if you can’t convince, then confuse”. Media is acting like they had got a lottery. They had just used it as a way to get TRPs.

So in this article I had tried to put some points from both the sides. LET’S BEGIN.

Now let’s see what are the points of government’s or people who support CAA and NRC:

1. Persecution of minorities in neighboring countries.

The worst part of partition was the religious interference. It was the partition over the religion. It turned into a huge persecution of minorities in both sides, but as India decided to became a secular country. So our gates were open for all religions. But Pakistan was not ready to show equality for Hindus in their land. So starting from that time till now many persecuted minorities from Pakistan entered India. Not just Pakistan but Afghanistan and Bangladesh is also known as Islamic countries.

So we are not asking people to come in India but creating a better place for those who had already entered this country after suffering from persecution. As refugees from these three countries had a different reasons from others thus they diverse a different law.

2. Creating a proper list of citizens:

There is lots of confusion related to the voting citizens of our country. So there is a huge requirement for a proper list of voting citizens.

3. Enhancing government policies:

Proper list will help government to launch different scheme for different people according to their need and requirement.

*4. Why not Rohingya, Chinese Muslims, Sri Lankan Tamil Hindus etc?***

It’s true that our country also had refugees from different countries. But we need to understand that we have a law for they. But the condition for refugees from neighboring Islamic countries is different. Even persecuted Muslims from any country could attain our citizenship according to our constitution.

Points of protesters against CAA and NRC:

1. Economic problem for implementing CAA.

Steps like NRC had taken lots of money in Assam. It was calculated that it took Rs 399 per person in Assam. So its estimated cost for implementing in whole country is 54663 crores. And we all know our country’s present economic condition. So this action by government is looking a very dangerous step. Watch the following video just for understanding this point better.

2. Government’s Poor Competence:

We had experienced Demonetization, it was looking great when whole country was supporting government as they taught it will vanish black money from the country. But the result was annoying, according to RBI almost 99.3% currencies had came back to the government. This was disappointing for public. There are many examples which prove this trait of ruling party. For example, ban of illegal slaughtering house in UP. It was a great step but government had no plans for the bulls that after this decision were just became trouble for public. Many injuries and deaths had taken place due to these stray animals. And NRC in Assam (explained below) also looks like its example.

So how could public believe that this time it is going to be smooth, and almost a successful decision?

3. NRC in Assam:

NRC was practiced in Assam, previous year by the government according to the orders of apex court. And the result was again disappointing. 19 lakhs people were out of the list including an ex-army personal, and family of a veteran. And according to survey majority of them were below poverty line. And if government is so sure about citizenship of Indians then why they failed in Assam. And According to Home Mister Amit Shah this time NRC will be practiced all around the country including Assam. Then it means all the struggle by people of Assam and money of government had wasted.

What the heck is this GDP? And why America’s GDP is less

than India’s?

Hello everybody! I know most of you people are aware of the answer of above mentioned question so this article is not for you. But I had written this article for people who really has confusion over America’s GDP and could not understand how GDP really affects on our country. Ok, so let’s begin.

So friends GDP means Gross Domestic Product.

In easy way, the GDP is just the net worth of a country per year.

India’s GDP is approx 2.9 trillions USD.

America’s GDP is approx 20.58 trillions USD.

China’s GDP is 13.37 trillions USD.

What is this percentage thing in this GDP?

See, percentage means increase in the earning this time than previous time.

Means if a country had earn 100 dollar this year and in another year it had earn 120 dollar than we will say that it had a GDP growth rate of 20%.

So, why to be panic with low GDP rate? After all it is increasing.

You would have definitely heard from your grandfather or some other old person that in their time they use to buy thing at very low rate. Because day by day, hour by hour and second by second inflation rate is hiking. So earning 50K 50 years back and earning 50K today had a huge difference. Therefore GDP of the country should always in profit after subtracting inflation rate from it.

For example, GDP growth of a country A is 4% and inflation rate is 3% than it means country’s real GDP growth is 1% compare to previous year. Means country is unable to make good money and becoming a slow growing economy in the world. Consequently, it rate of development in very slow.

How America being a superpower had less GDP growth rate than India’s?

See, I want you to be clear between the GDP and GDP growth rate.

GDP- total earning

GDP growth rate (%)-increasing in earning.

So I had told you America had nearly 22 trillion economy at present. Therefore 2% growth rate does not means that America is earning less or growing slow.

For example:
Person A: earns 1 rupee in first day

In second day- he earns 2 rupees

So increase in earning (%) - 100%

Person B: earning on first day- 10 rupees

On second day- 15 rupees

Growth rate - 50%

So which one better? 50% or 100%.

So I hope I was successful in explaining you about GDP.

So at present china is fastest growing economy (6.4%).

There was a time when India was having the title of fastest growing economy but due to some reasons it loose.
