Debt Collection Industry is Booming

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) anticipates that between now and 2106, the debt collection industry will experience a 23% rate of growth, a much faster rate than the average for all industries. According to the BLS, much of the increased demand for debt collection services will come from doctors’ offices, hospitals and government agencies, including the IRS.

While the value of many publicly-traded companies is falling in today’s slowed economy, publicly-traded debt collection agencies are becoming great investments. At the same time, the number of debt collection companies is growing, in part because more and more consumers are falling behind on their debts and also because new technology and online training is making it profitable for even very small home-based entrepreneurs to get into the debt collection business.

As a result, according to Smart Money Magazine, the number of debt collectors has doubled since the early 1990s and the revenue generated by debt collection agencies has tripled to $15 billion. Last year agencies recovered nearly $40 billion in debt. PriceWaterhouseCoopers survey provides additional evidence that debt collection business is booming - BIG!

Can it really be this simple?
Well, yes and no..... Let me explain

There are several problems with the “build it and they will come” approach.

A tree falling in the forest, without anybody around, doesn’t make the news.
Even if you’re on the cutting edge of technology or innovation,

your product or service won’t immediately
be recognized as holding any value.
People might need time, or education,
even repetition before it sinks in.

Now, if your product or service solves a problem, you got a winner.

But, what if people can’t recognize the connection between your solution

and their problem, then you also have a problem.

That problem may be temporary. The more you educate,
the more you drive awareness of the problem and the fact that
there are solutions for it, the better you are and
the faster your business will grow.

We solve problems.

We offer solutions where the courts can not.

We put cash back into pockets of the people.

Collection letter inviting debtor to call toll-free number violated FDCPA

A collection letter violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) because its invitation to call a toll-free number could be read by the “least sophisticated debtor” to permit the debt to be effectively disputed by telephone, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit has ruled.
