How to Import Excel file to a database.

Initial Steps:

Select a database and select a Import operation, you will find this after you navigate to

Select datasource as Microsoft Excel and give excel file to it.

When you import an Excel file to your Database then sometimes this error might come.

'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine

You will need to install the driver for Access. Please find the download file and follow the

Difference between If ElseIf Else and Select case

Q: Is there any difference between using If else for certain condition rather than using select case in case of performance vb.net or c#.net ?

Ans: No

Both the things are same. I will explain this with the help of example
I created a class in vb.net project with code like,

And compiled it and copied its IL code to a file.

And used select case instead of if else,

And compiled it and stored it in another text file.

Hi there,

I bought HTC wildfire s a year ago in India because of its features but was unaware of the internal memory problem fact. HTC has given everything to it but internal memory. I got many problems because of low memory.Always had to clear data and uninstall apps which were needed as all other portion of internal memory was forcefully allotted to Google apps and other updates. So I wanted to delete the applications like plurk, peep, flicker and internet browser also.

The problem is the system is build on Linux kernel and it doesn't allow users to uninstall or move certain applications without superuser (administrative) privilege. So to get superuser access you will have to wait for your device to get out of warranty and then do the rooting or you can take risk but this will void your warranty.

My HTC Wildfire S current settings
I searched a lot and tried many things it took me 3-4 days but I finally changed my htc wildfire s A510e's configurations to its best. Now my phone has configuration like 806 MHz processor (over clocked) Internal Memory around 2.6GB which includes pre installed 150MB

I will explain how to get these exact super settings for htc wildfire s but first we need to increase some memory by simple methods.

Solution for low internal memory problem

You can reduce the occurrences of low internal memory error with two ways.

1. Do as your phone asks you to do.
Clean some temp data and uninstall some applications so you will get some free memory.

Steps involved in freeing up your phones internal memory are,

1.A Uninstall apps which you never use.

1.B Delete sms and mms if not needed.

1.C Go to Settings then Apps(Applications) then Clear data of apps which you always use and of those applications which is more than 1 Mega Bytes

1.D Move every application which can be moved to SD card from same application settings page.

1.E Export your contacts from people (i.e. contacts) to SD card from menu then people and export contacts to sd. Then go to Applications manager and search for People and clean its data. After whole data is cleaned go to people from the Main Menu and import contacts. This will transfer your contacts from phone memory to sd card you will save 10 Mega Bytes of data there.

2. Root your htc wildfire s and install recovery with superuser
Few important terms which you will get in this article are HBoot, Recovery mode, Boot loader.

2.A Must have
Must have ample time and internet connection to download files of 300 MB(For computer applications) and 50MB for superuser and recovery image making it around 350 MB.

2.A.1 Memory card reader which has micro sd card slot.
2.A.2 Data cable of your htc phone.
2.A.2 Phone battery charged up to 60% or higher
2.A.4 Working condition phone keys.
2.A.5 Download and extract Android SDK, Java Runtime Environment and htc sync. Install ADB and Fastboot drivers. Create your user account on XDA forum just in case you need any help from the experts asap.
2.A.6 Run the Android SDK exe and wait till it loads all files and then after install package buttons is enabled install those packages
2.A.7 Enable USB debugging from application development section and check fast boot from power section of settings section of your phone.
2.A.8 Patience

2.B Procedure to install superuser on htc wildfire s.

2.B.1 Backup your phone data and SD CARD : Backup personal content of your SD card to your computer and if you want to have complete backup of your applications then install super backup from android market or Google play. And take backup of respective applications, contacts and sms backup to your memory card and then copy those on your computer(just in case if you do something stupid)
2.B.2 Either you can root your htc wildfire s to get your phone unlocked from htc dev dot com. Register there and select your phone model nad fallow the procedure.

Or

Connect your phone to computer and select fastboot from power settings menu. Now reboot the phone with volume down and power button pressed at same time like this.

Then on command prompt execute this command on command prompt
fastboot oem unlock

This will unlock your phone root access.
2.B.3 Your work is half done you still need a superuser permission to access you rooted system now. So to install superuser for that, download these files ClockWorkMod Recovery Image and SuperUser Zip place these files on your SD card.

Stay on the menu and connect your device to your pc with USB. If you get UNLOCKED text in pink color at top of the screen then you can proceed to next step if not check redo the things you might have missed some point.
2.B.4 Create a folder on root of your c drive as android and place this file into your drive like this. Add Fastboot exe neglect other files.

Go to command prompt and type.

And press enter the custom recovery image will get installed on your phone.Now reboot your phone and come to hboot menu again go to recovery section.

2.B.5 On recovery menu navigate to "install from sdcard" and choose the zip file SuperUser Zip. Again choose yes to install from the next menu which comes.

The phone will give a log after installation and then you can reboot your phone. Now your phone is unlocked with superuser permissions.Note: Volume buttons are as up and down arrows and power button is for selection.
2.B.6 After this step you can actually get rid of the "low internal memory clear some data" by installing link2sd application from market play. Link2sd allows you to uninstall unwanted applications from your system so as to get more internal memory. When you open Link2sd it will ask you to allow the application for privilege
2.B.7 With this app you can uninstall the unwanted applications and shift apps from phone to sd card.

Then SMS MO to 543210,and enable GSM/WCDMA dual mode.

1. Rs. 5/- 25MB / 1 Day
2. Rs. 10/- 100 MB / 2 days

3. Rs. 25/- 175 MB /7 Days
4. Rs. 98/- 1GB (1024MB) 30 Days,

Answer: In debug mode select any variable and double click it and press shift+F9 to get its Quick Watch window.

Like this :

Right click on its value and uncheck "Hexadecimal Display" option and its done close the quick watch window.

You can play this trick with your colleagues and watch their thirst to get solution for it LoL :)

How to install Windows 7/XP on Asus K53 Series K53SM-SX010D laptop with FreeDOS ?

How to install Windows 7 on FreeDOS Asus K53 Series K53SM-SX010D laptop ? was the only question in my mind when I bought this laptop from Flipkart with out any OS but FreeDos.This post will help you find your solution to your trouble while installing any operating system like Windows Xp, Windows 7 or even Ubuntu free linux.

My heartbeats raised when I pressed F2,F12 keys and BIOS didn't showed up but this menu...

"MENU 1 - Load FreeDOS with EMM386, no EMS (most UMBs), max RAM free"
"MENU 2 - Load FreeDOS with EMM386+EMS and SHARE"
"MENU 3 - Load FreeDOS including HIMEM XMS-memory driver"

So I restarted my laptop again and opt for Delete button but it didn't work too. Finally I tried ESC and it "actually worked" :)

If you have bought this laptop without any OS other than FreeDos then reboot your system as as soon as you hit power button to start your system then just hit ESC button like you do in other laptops with F2 or F12.

Then BIOS menu should appear and you can then change the boot drive sequence to get your operating system installed.

Rest you can do... but if you have more queries you can ask :)
(I am sure this solution should work on any laptop which comes without operating system but has FreeDOS installed on it)

Hi,

I am using htc wildfire S from last 10 months and now I consider myself well equipped with its experience. So I am sharing with you as it may help you in taking decision.

The brand name is enough to attract your attention when you start your search of buying a Android phone.
The things which I wanted in my phone before buying this were all fulfilled but the memory.

Lets go into its details,
(All from my perspective)

Operating system : android 2.3 gingerbread earlier it came with 2.2 but now its updated to 2.3 and now waiting to taste ice-cream sandwich i.e. Android 4.0 (yet not listed ):D

Body : This phone has good outer body which is tough.Many times I have dropped my phone on floor mistakenly and once purposely to check its body build and it is still working fine as it was new.It comes in two color dark gray and white. Dark one is better.

Display: htc wildfire has good quality display bundled in it. Even the screen is of gorilla glass so you dont need to bother about scratches but do not totally rely on it.
TFT capacitive touchscreen, 256K colors are enough for you to view videos and play games smoothly.

Memory: Memory is the star point if we talk about a phone and this phone lags in this basic user requirement. Htc could have given more memory to its users but even if they say they are giving 512MB internal memory with 512MB RAM its of no use. As after installing 10 apps on it you get internal memory low warning msg . They could have given some odd figure memory for this device as its cost was factor but memory only makes this mobile go into thrash.

It has preinstalled applications and they take around 137MB internal memory and system itself uses around 245.Approximately you get 130 MB memory which is you have to manage with compulsorily installed google apps which are required and have to mange in leftover.Finally after installing 5-6 apps you get warnings of low internal memory.

Solution is to move apps as you install it from internal memory to memory card and clear unused data in other routine apps.Right now this is the only solution for this device even the company doesn't seems to make new customers so those who have bought this use this trick others buy other phone XOXO

Battery: I don't consider battery as an important issue as its up to you how to last it long.So dont want to talk about battery it is upon your usage how many apps you keep active and blah blah blah... Only i can say is I use battery wisely.

Music: Music with htc's headphone is best at this cost. You take any software its headphones add an advantage to music.Full volume is best with this headphone : ) I love its music

Camera: Camera quality is fine. Use default settings and enjoy its camera with 5MP crisp images you will surely like the features provided like smile shutter, self portrait and ISO image settings.
It has only one camera so you don't need to install skype and wait like dumb to get a video call:P

Video can be recorded with fine quality 5 points for this out of 5 :D

HTC Sense: For me there was no sense of adding htc sense in this device as the android os itself has its own sense techniques. htc is asking us to pay more for their sense technology so as others like samsung android phones.

Rating given by me is 3.5/5.
And I prefer you to buy other phone as its lags in memory which is most important part of this phone.
So you can add few amount into your budget if you don't want to compromise with memory and unusual hang ups.

USB has it's advantage over cable devices so as the super mini USB blue-tooth adapter dongle!
I bought on USB blue-tooth dongle which weighs less it is something new and really unique.

Yesterday I searched for windows movie maker in Windows 7 but didn't get it. And after getting this from Microsoft itself I thought of sharing it with others.For those who haven't used it - Windows movie maker is a software which can be used for recording videos from web cam or other video capturing devices on computer.

It's other features are

On mobile phone the surfing speed can vary depending upon network coverage and network traffic same as for PC but you may observe much speed in pc than in phone.

One year gone and again we are feeling the heat of increase in temperature.
We can adjust with the environment but our laptop computers can't . They need to be cooled so as to work properly.

These stands are designed in such a way that they can hold your laptop on a table with balance such that heat can dissipate from the exhaust( the openings at base ) .

The height adds to the clearance and speeds ups the fans and heat releases faster.Nice gadget. You can buy this from dealextreme site search for Heat Reduction Desktop Stands. You may get more other cooling gadgets which might be better than this one. But I suppose if you don't want to spend more money on cooling your laptop computer then these stands are best way to do it.

The design is good too . Looks nice with black color.

Out of 5 I will give it 3 stars. According to it's Price ( 3.7 USD ) ,design , color and it's actual use to consumers.

In real life most of the time we come in situation where we need to tell the name of place to other person just by seeing it or by its photograph and we hardly remember or know its name.As we don't have habit of remembering all.

Keeping this in mind Google has developed an application for Android phones which will surprisingly show you name of the place,book,landmark,logo and contact information(So that our memory will be more weaker ;p).I thought about this technology about 2 years back and thought Chinese would definitely make it possible but Google did it .

Google Goggles is an visual search application for Android phones. Rather than using words,and long text take a picture of an object with your camera phone. And after taking it Google visual search mechanism searches for the image details.Displays the result just like normal Google search result.

If you don't want to take a picture of local business buildings like music shop or a Hotel then by using camera preview mode Google searches for and displays its name directly just by pointing to that place.

I think Google will need to work on it very deeply as on earth when there can be more than one person of same face likewise there are many landmarks and places which have replicas of it.

Currently you won't be able to identify animals,plants and cars.Else it would have been much easier for me to identify cars as I hardly remember versions and model of different car companies but if Google Goggles identify cars too then ask me any thing about cars :D

Get ready as 4G network is coming...

Network is growing day by day.
Growth is good but not always.If we go for every new technology then soon the time will come when most consumers will get bored of new technologies and only few will buy it.

In India we are yet to get full 3G network and what news I got today is 4G network is going to be released but not in India. It is going to be released in Sweden and Norway.

The mobile user of Sweden and Norway may get 4G (fourth-generation) mobile network in new year 2010.

Mobile phone firm TeliaSonera has completed work on two 4G networks in Oslo and Stockholm and soon will release it @ 2010.

But the sad part is that today's technology do not have handsets which support 4G networks.So this network is only going to be used by Laptop users who have 4G USB dongle(Samsung) in coming year.But companies like Apple, Ericsson etc are working on it.

Long Term Evolution (LTE) is the technology which they have kept in mind while implementing this 4G network.The technology has been designed to overlay existing 3G networks and most operators have committed to upgrading to the faster system asap.

This will surely improve the network speed and enhance the streaming of videos as well as playing games online will not be hectic task.

One of the key point of 4G network is the speed which it is going to provide.And it will be more than 100 MB for mobile phone.

I am looking forward to get 4G dongle if India's network providers get it. I can predict that it shall come to India at the end of 2010.

If you want to get a new PayPal account then you must be already known to what PayPal actually does !!

What is PayPal ?

My view is not much different in fact it is same as wiki.
PayPal gives its customers access to shop from several online purchasing sites. Currently most of the sites support PayPal. Even you will find many other online money transfer agents like AlertPay and Neteller. You even can create your own PayPal site but his is not important in current scenario.

Simply you Shop with PayPal by giving your PayPal id and password , the vendor itself decides the amount and you have to pay that after secured login. So you can buy without using your credit card number its safer than credit card. In every shopping some amount is taken away by PayPal as their service charges. Suppose if you spend 10USD then 0.69 USD will get deduct.

(*Note: While sharing money from friend or while doing man-man transaction send money as personal use )

You can add money to your PayPal account by validating your account with your credit card. And requesting money via PayPal.

The method for creating PayPal account is simple as creating a mail id on gmail :P

You are done . Now Earn money through different sources, store money in PayPal account and then shop through your PayPal id. Check for verified seller and purchase from there only.

In this computer world every object related to computer filed has life . I am talking about the time duration for existence of the thing . Like CD,Floppy,HDD,Mouse,Keyboard each and every part of this machine has life. And when any of the part fails to do its job well we human throw it in garbage. Why should we keep it as it is of no use to us.

But if you are a environment lover then you have opportunity to save environment then you can use that junk in creative way .I had done some of the compact disk's and floppies to create new a clock and a pen box :D

Programming made easy with Microsoft Visual Studio 2010

Few decades back a programmer was considered to be extremely talented person who was able to imagine and implement impossible ideas possible with his programming skills.No doubt the time they took was no where near in comparison with today's programmer as they worked on lowest level of programming and without any GUI. But now after evolution of different languages and their IDE's anyone can program with basic knowledge of the programming language.Why this is happening is only because of the GUI and helping IDE. Programmers life is made more easier and more applications can be made with ease and in less time .

To achieve this goal you all know Microsoft developed Visual Studio where programmer can get may languages including 3rd party languages also. And after testing,debugging and by adding new components what we have now is Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 . Unfortunately currently we have beta version of it. Still it is very useful.

I am interested in Web application so I started a new web project in this new IDE.
And after using I understood how this version is different from other previous versions.

Have look at new IDE its really different from the traditional ones ,

One important thing which I found in this newly built application was " The page was similar to wordpress newly built page " .
In Wordpress when you create a page or start new blog they provide you with the default options on the page like Meta Login, Menu with Home page button and About page button. And I think that Microsoft has copied this idea from Wordpress :D
This is history of Microsoft that it copies or buys codes and ideas from other companies. All is fare in current scenario as companies need less coding . And this won't bother programmer as their life is made more easy by Microsoft.

So wait for fully stable version of Visual Studio 2010 :D Till then keep testing Beta 2
