Product Review: Rita Ora's Nail Polish- Lose Your Lingerie

When I went shopping the other day there was on offer on all Rimmel London products. I had been debating whether to try some of Rita Ora's Nail polishes for a few weeks so I thought I may aswell make the most of the offer!
I purchased 'Lose Your Lingerie' and 'Breakfast In Bed' and I've tried 'Use Your Lingerie' first. I am really happy with how the colour looks on my nails as it is a really pretty pastel pink shade. The nail polish dried really fast and only took two coats to become completely opaque. So far I've had no chips which I'm surprised about, as ~~I was too lazy~~ I forgot to apply a top coat. I think the colours I have purchased will look lovely in the Spring and Summer and I think I might go and buy some more as I am really happy with the qualtiy.

Product I'm loving: Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation

Lately I have been using Rimmel London Match Perfection foundation in 001 Light Porcelain. The formula is intended to be traceless and I would definitely agree!

The foundation is very lightweight and leaves an almost traceless coverage which helps to make my skin look natural. This foundation is also supposed to 'match' all lighting and adjust to your skintone which means that my skin always looks smooth and an even shade. I love this foundation and I think I will probably buy it again. I can imagine it being really good in the Summer as it's such a lightweight liquid foundation, plus it smells really summery aswell!

Nail Art Without The Fuss: Ciate's Feathered Manicure Set

There's no denying that nail art is rapidly becoming a new way to express style and make an impression.However not everyone has the time or skill to create these intricate designs. I wanted a set which would give me pretty results without taking me hours, so decided to try Ciate's Feathered Manicure set.

I bought this set way back in December when I attended the Clothes Show Live for a bargain of five pounds. For that price I thought I may aswell buy it and give it a go, and I'm so glad I did.

The process is simple as the set comes with easy to follow step by step instructions.

Paint your nails with the included colour
Once dry, apply a top coat and add the feather (tip pointing towards cuticle) before it dries and trim off excess.
Once the top coat is dry, file off any rough edges of feather from the top of your nail and apply one final top coat
Voila! Your nails are finished!

I chose to only apply a feather to my ring finger as i felt it made the feather stand out more and appear more prominent, but I think they'd look very pretty on each or alternate nails too.

Valentines Day Cupcakes

Okay, so technically Valentines Day was yesterday, but that doesn't mean you can't still make these really cute cupcakes! You could make them for someone else, your friends, a party or even for yourself!

See? they're really simple to make and look so cute. You could decorate them any way you want so they don't have to be themed around Valentines Day. Also- if you ask me- they taste like Vanilla ice cream, so whats not to love?

Heres the ingredients you will need:
For the cake mixture:
125g self-raising flour
125g butter
125g caster sugar
2 large eggs
2-3 tablespooons milk
For the icing:
200g icing sugar
100g butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon milk
food colouring and decorations of your choice

Beauty New Years Resolutions

Hello and happy new year! It's been January for a couple of weeks now so I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year. For my first post of 2014 I thought I'd share my New Year beauty resolutions with you. I've tried to make them easy to fit into my life so I'll be more likely to act upon them because they never normally last for me!

1) Use up my makeup products before repurchasing them (and throwing the old one away!)
I always buy products before I run out 'just in case' when, in reality, I don't really need to yet. Then, instead of using up the rest of the old product, I just throw it away and start my new one. I don't know why I do this and I'm sure I'm not the only one, so this year I'm going to make sure I use up the whole product before throwing it away because it'd just a waste!

2) Experiment more
I always take notice of people's makeup/hair/style whenever I go out and I love it when somebody has a really unique look that really suits them and you don't see very often. I'm going to try and be more daring with my makeup because it's so easy to just stay in the 'safe zone' because you find the makeup look easy to apply and know you're comfortable with it.

3) Use a deep conditioner or hair mask at least once a week
I don't over style my hair and always make sure I use heat protector, but like everybody else I still have split ends. Loads of factors can contribute them, especially the weather and. as it's really cold and windy, my hair's getting tangled a knotty quite a lot! Just by using a deep conditioner every week you can reduce your split ends and help to keep your healthy, so that's what I'm going to do!

4) Use more face masks
I used to use face masks loads but my skin reacted once and I stopped using them. However all the other face masks I had used before really helped my soften and cleanse my skin, so I want to start using them again. There's so many to choose from with such a range of benefits, so I think I should stop letting one bad experience stop me from using them.

5) Moisturise before going to sleep
I'm guilty of skipping this step much more frequently than I should. When I'm tired I just can't wait to go to sleep and often miss this step just because I'm being lazy. Moisturising really doesn't take that long so I'm going to make sure it's something I do every night, even if it means leaving my moisturiser on my bedside table!

The Clothes Show Live: Makeup Haul

First off, I'm so sorry for not posting in ages! I've been really busy the past few weeks but I should hopefully be able to start posting regularly again now.

Anyway, last Saturday I went to the Clothes Show Live, the UK's largest fashion festival. Whilst there I did buy clothes (obviously) and jewellery, but in this post i'm going to show you what makeup i got.

The first stall i went to was Ciate, who were giving away nail polish sets for five pounds. I picked up the Emerald Collection. As green was this years colour, Ciate put all of the individual sets they'd created together in one pack so you could recreate all the looks from one set. It includes Ciate nail polish in 'PP060- ditch the heels', 'caviar pearls- ball gown' and a mini funnel, a pot of sequins and a tube of velvet with a mini brush. For five pounds, this set was amazing value!

I also purchased the Feathered Manicure set from Ciate, as I have been wanting to try this on my nails for ages. This set included a pack of feathers, a pair of scissors, two block nail files, the Ciate 'NT014 speed coat pro' topcoat, a Ciate mini in 'PPM091 Ivory queen', as well as an instruction booklet.The feathered manicure set was also available in other editions with different coloured feathers and nail polishes in, but I chose this one as the feathers are colourful and will be appropriate for the festive season.

I then went to Rimmel and decided to buy one of each of the two goody bags they had for sale. These were also five pounds each and came in 'Endless Glam' and 'Retro Glam'. In 'Endless Glam' you received a Salon Pro Lycra nail polish by Kate Moss in '317 Hip Hop', a Lash Accelerator Endless Mascara in Black, a 'Sun Shimmer Instant Tan in Medium Matte' and a tester for Rimmel's Wake Me Up Foundation in '200 Soft Beige'. In Retro Glam there was a Scalndaleyes Retro Glam Mascara in '001 Black', a Salon Pro Lycra nail polish in '393 Desire', another Sun Shimmer Instant tan in 'Medium Matte', and another Wake Me Up Foundation in '200 Soft Beige'. I really like the colour of the two nail polishes and I'll definitely be using the instant tan when it gets closer to the Summer next year!

My last two beauty purchases were from BarryM amd they were nail polishes in the colours '337 Pink Silver Glitter' and '341 Cappucino'. I've already tried these two colours together and they look really pretty. I applied two coats of '341 Cappucino' to my nails and then one coat of '337 Pink Silver Glitter' to the top once they were dry. The polishes really compliment each other and so I'll definitely wear them together a lot and post a review soon.

That's all of my beauty purchases from The Clothes Show Live and I'll be posting reviews on the products after I've tried them and letting you guys know what I think of them. If any of you get the chance to go to The Clothes Show Live next year I highly recommend you take it, as it's a great experience and there's loads of amazing offers you wouldn't be able to find anywhere else!

I chose all of these colours as I think the tone of them makes them compliment Autumn fashion really well. They all haave quite dark tones which makes them perfect for the Autumn, as the weather is getting colder. You can pull off dark tones in the Autumn much easier than you can in the Spring and Summer, so it's the perfect excuse to wear them!

Hey everyone! When I first purchased Rimmel Baby Lips, it's fair to say I was quite excited. Every review that I had read on them was positive so of course I wanted to try them myself and see what all the fuss was about. Just like every other review that I read, mine is also positive, as I absolutely love baby lips.

L to R: Pink Punch, Peach Kiss, Hydrate & Intense Care

First off, can we just appreciate how cute the product itself looks?! they're so colourful and the writing on the lid makes the lip balms really stand out. I have four Baby Lips Lip balms: Peach kiss, Pink Punch, Intense Care and Hydrate. I really like the idea that some of the lip balms have a colour tint to them, as it can play a part in your makeup look as well as moisturising your lips. After I started wearing them, I honestly felt the difference in my lips. They felt so much more softer than before. On top of this, the product itself is long wearing, so I didn't have to top it up too much. I think I'm really going to appreciate them in the Winter when the weather gets really cold, because they're definitely going to prevent my lips from becoming chapped. My . personal favourites are Pink Punch, as it gives a really pretty colour which isn't too intense, and Hydrate as I feel like this one works the best at staying put.

I've also heard that more colours have been released since I bought mine, so I'm definitely going to be on the look out for them! Baby Lips are honestly one of the best Lip Balms I've came across, so I'd definitely recommend buying one, or two, or three, or.. you get my point ;)

Recent Beauty Purchases

Hey everyone! I've been pretty bad at posting on here lately as I haven't been writing a post every week, sorry about that. I'm going to return to writing a post at least once every week and have more of a routine :).

I went shopping recntly and bought a few beauty products, so I thought I'd share with you what i got and where i got them from!

The first products that i bought were these bubble baths and shower cremes from Superdrug. They were in a pack of six for five pounds, which I thought was a good offer. They all smell really nice (especially Strawberres & Cream!) and the packaging is really cute and feminine. Also, they're all available to buy individually in larger bottles, so this is a great way to find out which one I think smells the best.

Whilst in Superdrug I finally found Maybelline's Baby Lips lip balm! I'm super excited about using these as everyone keeps saying how amazing they are and I've been trying to find some for ages. As well as this, they were on offer for two for five pounds, so I got four ;)

My last purchases from Superdrug were these two moisturisers from Simple. One is used in the morning, and you apply the night cream before going to bed. I love Simple as I have quite sensitive skin and their products don't contain any ingredients which may irritate your skin. Seeing as Winter's approaching too, I thought they'd come in handy to prevent Dry skin during the cold weather.

I found this shower gel whilst I was walking around Asda, and had to buy it as it smells incredible! I love anything that smells like coconuts because the smell reminds me of Summer and it's so refreshing. I know it's Autumn now and Summers ended, but at least I can still pretend ;)

Also in Asda were these VO5 hair products, which were on offer for three for five pounds! Seriously, look for them the next time you go in Asda because that's such a good deal! I want my hair to have more body and volume to it as it can be quite flat, so I picked up a texturing powder which you apply to your roots and a volumising gel that you apply to towel dried hair. I've never tried these before so don't know how good they'll be, but I'm hoping they'll work and will probably do a review on them in the near future. I also got some weather resistant hairspray, which I think I'll be using quite a lot now that Summer has ended.

Makeup Starter Kit

I know that when I first started using makeup, I found it a bit confusing as there are so many products to choose from. For that reason, I decided to base today's post on what I would recommend buying if you are new to the makeup world, and are just looking to buy products which will give you a versatile everyday look.

Primer/Makeup base- This isn't a necessity, but I would recommend using it as it is applied to your face first, and helps to give an even makeup coverage and help it stay in place throughout the day.

L'Oreal Studio Secrets Base

concealer- This is a good product to have as it can be used to hide any blemishes. concealer can also be used to hide under-eye circles, which can help you appear more awake.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer

Foundation- some people don't really need to apply foundation as they get enough coverage from concealer. however, if your skintone still looks uneven/ patchy after you've applied concealer, then apply some foundation to your nose and the middle of your face and blend outwards. Also, like I mentioned in my video on my previous post, it is important you find the right shade of foundation, so don't be afraid to try the testers for foundation on your jawline or ask a shop assistant for help.

Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid Foundation

Powder- You can buy powder loose or pressed, and you apply it to your skin after you have used the above products to help set your makeup and give your face a matte, shine free finish.

MUA Loose Powder

Mascara- Mascara is a product I recommend using as it can help you look more awake, and I think it completes your look and can help your makeup appear more 'finished'. It's ideal as it isn't overdramatic, so can be used in everyday looks.

Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara

Eyeliner- I would buy an eyeliner if you want your makeup to look slightly more dramatic or bold. An eyeliner pencil would be a good place to start, as they are easy to apply and you can achieve a variety of looks depending on how you apply it.

Rimmel Soft Kohl Pencil

Sheer lipgloss- this is optional, but I think using a sheer lipgloss is a good idea as you can add a hint of colour to your lips without making them too bold.

Bourjois 3D Effect Lipgloss

Blusher or bronzer- Again, these products are optional. If you do want to use blusher, I'd recommend starting with a light colour, which you can build up slowly to achieve your desired intensity. Bronzer can be used to define your face shape and cheekbones, but like blusher, apply it sparingly and gradually build it up, and practice how to apply it as it can be quite tricky to make bronzer look natural

This month I have liked quite a lot of the products that I have purchased, so this blog is going to be about my five favourite purchases of July. Enjoy! :)

Raspberry Shower Gel: The Body Shop

I absolutely love The Body Shop and would literally buy everything in there if I had enough money. However, I don't, so I settled for the raspberry shower gel instead. It smells amazing and is perfect for Summer as it has quite a strong fragrance which lasts all day. The bottle is quite big too, meaning it should last me quite a long time.

Chocolate Lip Butter: The Body Shop

Whilst in The Body Shop, I couldn't just ignore all the cute little lip butter pots on sale, so purchased the chocolate flavour. It smells exactly like chocolate and has a long lasting effect on your lips, leaving them feeling moisturized The only problem is that the pots are small, meaning I'm going to have to go and buy some more pots as I use it loads.

Intense Hair Recovery Mask: Umberto Giannini

In the Summer, the heat can damage my hair, making it frizzy and causing split ends. The recovery mask from Umberto Giannini is made with argon oil so really helps to re-hydrate my hair and control any frizziness caused by the heat and humidity. I only have to leave it on my hair for a few minutes and it still makes a big difference to the condition of my hair.

Essie All In One Basecoat

I love painting my nails but they're weak and break really easily, meaning that they don't ever grow very long, which isn't very good for when I want to apply patterns to them. Essie's all in one basecoat has really helped to strengthen my nails and since using it, they've grown a lot quicker. It's hard wearing and stays on my nails for a long time before I need to top it up.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Mascara

I love Rimmel and think that their mascara's areamazing. My favourite mascaras from Rimmel are the scandaleyes collection. They really are worth the price as they make my eyelashes appear really long and the effect lasts all day. I love the packaging too as it manages to look professional but the colours are still really bright, making it different to other mascaras.

Product Review: Schwarzkopf got2b Texturizing Salt Spray

I've actually been searching for a sea salt spray for my hair which wasn't very high priced for ages, so was pleased when I found Schwarzkopf sea salt spray in Bodycare for around £3.50.
I was unsure whether it would give good results at first as my hair doesn't hold styles very well, but I didn't need to worry. Even after one spray my hair was looking more textured and after further spritzing and scrunching, I ended up with effortless beach waves. You can apply the product to dry hair as well as hair wet hair, so it can be used on both clean hair and hair which hasn't been washed for a day or two. I secured the style in place with some hairspray and the beach waves lasted the whole day. It smells really nice too, as it has a summery, beachy fragrance (which reminds me of holidays!). I'm glad I chose Schwarzkopf Sea salt Spray now despite being unsure at first as I would say that it probably gives the same result as the more expensive sea salt spray's that I considered buying- maybe even better- for half of the price.

Product Review: Rimmel 1000 Kisses Lip Tint

I've never really been a huge fan of lipgloss because I don't really texture they leave and don't feel that they stay put, so instead I decided to try 1000 Kisses Lip Tint by Rimmel London.
I personally love Rimmel as I feel they design products suitable for everyone. Both ends of the product have an applicator: one is a lip tint pen, the other a lip balm. I think this is a clever idea because it means you can choose whether whether you want matte lips, or whether you want to add a shine. I chose the colour 600 Carry On Cherry, which was actually quite a bold colour for me, but I decided to try it anyway. It gives a lovely berry colour and I like the way that you can build the colour up to your desired intensity. The pen applicator also means you can control where you apply the colour too, as well as allowing you to line your lips. The lip balm is really moisturising and it stayed put pretty well throughout the day. It has lasted me a long time too and I think the product design is really pretty. I would recommend 1000 Kisses by Rimmel to anyone looking for a new lip product and I will definitely be buying a lot more of them in various colours.

Summer's finally here! At last we can finally ditch our woolly jumpers and switch them for dresses and shorts. Clothes aren't the only things we can change though, as the same concept applies to our beauty products too. Below I have listed various products which are great to use and are well suited to the Summer months.

Sea Salt Spray

The heat can affect our hair and make us feel like we don't want to spend a long time styling it, so salt spray is the perfect answer. BB Cream is designed to act as many face products in one. Foundation, Primer, Concealer, you name it. It gives a light, fresh coverage which means your makeup won't look heavy or patchy. you can also buy BB Creams which include SPF, so it's a great buy for the Summer.

Orange tinted Lipstick

Makeup products with an orange tint to them are ideal for the Summer because you can get away with brighter colours. Lipsticks with an orange tone are very popular during the Summer as they can make your look appear brighter and give a warmer tone.

Bright Nail Polish

Leave your dark nail polishes for the Winter, and embrace the Summer Sun by wearing brighter tones on your nails. Colours such as yellow, orange and hot pink are on trend this Summer and will all help to complete your look and make it appear more light hearted and suited to the season.

June Favourites

I use a lot of products from various different brands but there's always a few that stand out to me and i like the best. In this post, I am going to be talking about which five products have been my favourite this month, and why I like them so much.

VO5 Heat Defence Styling Spray
I use this every time that I apply heat to my hair when styling. It leaves my hair smelling nice and doesn't leave any residue in my hair or cause it to look/feel greasy and become weighed down. For the quality of the product it doesn't cost much (around £3.50) and is definitely worth the price.

Rimmel Glam Eyes Trio Eyeshadow: Orion

This eyeshadow palette is great if you
have blue eyes as it compliments
them really well and makes your eye
colour stand out.The three colours
allow you to create different looks,
whether it be a daytime makeup look
or a smoky eye. The eyeshadow
lasted really well and I didn't find
myself having to top it up throughout
the day.

Simple Soothing Toner

I use this product all the time as it

isn't expensive but still gives amazing

results. i use it every morning and

night to help cleanse my skin and

remove any remaining dirt that my

cleansing lotion may have missed and

it works really well. It isn't harsh on

my skin and leaves it feeling

clean,soft and refreshed.

Batiste Tropical Dry Shampoo

Dry shampoo is a product I use all the

time as my hair can become oily

quickly, so it's perfect to use between

washes. I love Batiste Dry Shampoo

as it makes my hair appear less oily

and adds volume at the same time. It

doesn't leave my hair looking grey at

the roots from the residue and

brushes out really easily. I especially

love the tropical scent as it smells like

coconuts and leaves my hair smelling

nice and summery.

Seventeen Photo Flawless Primer

Ever since I got this product I've

wondered how I even managed to

apply my makeup without it before. I

only need to use a small amount and

it covers my face, making sure my

makeup stays put all day long. It

stops my foundation from becoming

patchy and oily, and makes it so much

easier to apply.

How to... Style Converse

I absolutely love Converse because you can wear them with practically any outfit. they can make an outfit appear more relaxed, as well as giving outfits a more preppy feel. Below i have created and listed some ways to style Converse.

Outfit One

Wearing Converse with a dress can make your outfit more daytime based as it doesn't make it seem too glamorous. Teaming them with a floral hair accessory can help bring the items together and make the look complete.

Outfit Two

Team your Converse with a pair of black Skinny jeans and a band top. Bright Converse will inject some colour into your outfit or, if they're black, your look can seem more grungy and edgy. Stacked bracelets and rings can help your outfit seem more collected.

Outfit Three

Another way you can style your Converse is by wearing them with a high waist skirt. Pick a bright skirt and dark top and Converse (or dark skirt and bright top and Converse) to colour block your outfit. This will make your outfit seem more appropriate for the Summer.

Promenade Inspired Outfit

It's getting close to summer, so I thought I would do a Promenade inspired outfit so that you can look summery but sophisticated, whilst walking down the town or strolling around the beach. This outfit is aimed for the evening, probably if you were going to a restaurant. Choosing the golds and blacks as the main colours made the design bold yet subtle at the same time, so you can stand out from the crowd in a completely effortless way.
