These are my current project on cross stitching .It is a bit dilly dally project that I ever did.I am not familiar with this kind of fabric.It has small holes which made my eyes squint.

I have made some changes to meet the vibrant look since the original was so dull in color. The changes gave a different look and provide more satisfactory results. Now the colors are more lively and vivid which gives a much better look compare to the previous one.

Those pattern were stitched on 24ct Aida fabric that I bought few months ago. The progress is still slow since I love to stitch more than one pattern at once.

This is my latest project....Those bookmarks are created a few months back...It was one of my bookmarking swap that i joined to occupy my idle time...

All of the swappers have to come up with 18 bookmarks in a given time frame .Everyone has given a theme by the host except myself. Therefore, I am free to do mine without having any ridiculous pressure. Another reason is that I was still a newbie and they were trying not to get me into trouble.Well, maybe they were worried that I may cause them unnecessary hassle..who knows.

It was fun doing something new especially things u have never done before. It was a bit messy and stressful at first but I did finish it on time ..and and top of everything I am happy with the result. Yup, truly happy with it.

Since everybody was keen on doing something on scrapbooking method which includes paper a lot, I rather have something different and easy to do. I chose stitching because it was really me and it was fun doing it..

I am still waiting for others to host a new swap.

Come out....Come out..... wherever you are

Browsing the internet would be the best way to escape from our daily problem....Why I love surfing the internet very much because you are about to see colors of the world which is at the end of your fingertips.....By clicking the keyboard key you are about to enter the most wonderful and colorful life of other people that goes around you.....Sometimes I wish I can be there to see with my own eyes and feel their feelings too.....Enough said...... For all cross stitcher who happened to have a blog, I hope u can share some of your pattern for viewing purposes...A few months ago, I come across to see a lot lovely blog that have plenty of spendthrift finishings and wonderful ideas..... I marked some of the blogs and websites for my stitching referral......This is how I can penetrate myself to stitch a new things rather than doing the usual stuff that I have been doing over a years......That's the good news..... Here come the bad news......I barely understand what most of the cross stitchers trying to highlight.....This is because most of them are in other languages and I can't read them at all.....I was also being bonded to view only the photo chart to understand the whole ideas while waiting for the outcome.....I feel so dejected when I have to leave the blog because of this kind of reason...... By the way, I can't hardly find your blog because of the languages deficiency.....It would be an honor to me if u can leave your blog or website link at my comment's box.......All kind of hardwork will be appreciated.......Thank you very much.....

Hello everyone....

I have been away from my stitching starch for a few days just to ponder upon the a best possible way to celebrate my 12th anniversary of meeting my soul mate, love-of-my-life and of course my beloved husband i am married to 7 years ago.....and I hereby I am declaring December as the month for just us Lovers instead of February and I wish that ((god bless- what we done through the years))))

I have just finished stitching "My Secret Door" pattern. To be honest, I don't even know what the original color was. As usual, this is one of those patterns I downloaded 7 years ago. As years passed, those websites are no longer in service. I did try to recollect the name of the website a few months back but failed - much to my dismay. I have also Googled the relevant keyword for easy searching but still couldn't get the correct url address. Not even close.

Some of you might have seen the pattern somewhere I guess. The chart only is accompanied with color symbols in the legend instead of the number form so I had used my own crazy imagination to come up with the next best thing. If any consolation, I do have retrieved a few of colorful patterns from the website but have a difficulty of uploading it to my blog.

I would love to share the pattern with others but I can't hardly find a place to upload my pdf file. The patterns have been scanned and uploaded it to my webshot album. Feel free to download the pattern for your personal use only.

LOVE WREATH

I just finished stitching my LOVE WREATH pattern. It took me approximately a month to stitch. I love the color very much. It was originally purple (3747-DMC Thread) in color and I changed it to pinkish (956-DMC Thread) in color. To me pink looks more vibrant, alive and has an distinct aura of lovingness mood. Love is in the air. Long story short - it's just a girl thing by the way.

If you happen to also work on this wonderful pattern , why don't you just email your in-progress photo and we can share it with others. To date, I had never seen other color of love wreath rather than pink. It would be great if I have other friends working on the same pattern. For instance, some people may think blue is cool while others might seen red,green,yellow,orange or maybe a combination of two colors have the best looks. I sincerely hope more people will join my blog so that we can have more comments and tips on how to improvise our cross stitching techniques.

Actually, I want to give this chart to all cross stitch lovers out there. Unfortunately, I have yet to find a place where I can upload my pdf file. If someone has come across any solution, please leave a message at my comments box.

This is my first attempt on making something else rather than something I would stitch and frame. When I first started out cross stitching I was rather doing something out of my routine too - as far as hobbies are concerned . Bottom line, I am keen to do something rather than usual stuff. Even though I am not new in cross stitch world, I never had the guts to try my hand on other cutesy stuff like pinkeep, needleroll, bag etc. As long as I can be remember, it has been almost 21 years of I putting my heart and soul into cross stitching. The things I always find myself doing, almost subconsciously, whenever I withdrawn to isolation at times of my numerous personal emotion crunch. It is my zone of retreat - a breakaway from it all.

Most of my pieces are not with me because when I get bored with it, I will sell or give to whoever I deem worthy to have it. To me, I really love cross stitching and the pleasure was the actual journey of starting the stitching till all the pieces are finished. Then you just throw it away.

This chart was given to me on my 1st year of birthday celebration as a wife. No doubt about it, it was a gift from my husband . I felt in love with the chart the moment I entered the store. But I don't have any budget left to spend on that store so we just walked around and did some kind of window shopping I guess . After a while we left the store with no regret as it was a pricey chart to begin with. Nevertheless, the urge persisted and the pressure was on the moment I reach home. I decided to keep on pushing my husband to buy the chart - resorting to subtle approach now. Will this work?

Peek-a boo

I got the chart at last. I can't remember where he got it from. He bought it when I was not around (from cross stitch store). Always thought left unchecked, I would always "run amok" in tapestry store and so it was a good idea for him to not bring me along.

All I know was I kinda of pissed off at the shop owner. He bought the kit at for about 60 bucks. The owner did not measure the skeins accurately or accordingly on how much it supposed to be...Probably sleeping on the job that time .If I am not mistaken, the chart needs about 30 different colors to finish the pattern. All he did was gave me all of the full length of 8 yards skein and worst of all it was a XEROXED chart. Not even worth of half I , I mean my husband paid for. All the things that does matter was it was given by MY BELOVED HUSBAND...THANKS TO HIM BY THE WAY

These are my 2007 finishings. Actually, this size of pattern doesn't take a long time to stitch.I can probably finish the pattern within one solid day of stitching where these reasons below need to be excluded

1. Interruptions from husband and children.
- Such as you don't need to make their meals even though they are starving. Let them eat whatever is in the refrigerator and no cooking needed..
- Don't join their current activity or whatever activity their up to.

2. No laundrette work.

3. Make sure you have enough skeins to stitch at least for one pattern.

4.No wonderful show on t.v

5. No hanky panky stuff is on.

6.Stop chatting on the net.

7. Leave your colorful door catalog far away from you.

8. Neglect contact despite the phone is ringing.

9. Ignore all the aromatic food cooked by your husband.

10. Early to bed or afternoon nap.

I love the pattern but I hate stitching on a small-holed cloth. Besides, I am not sure the real color of the chart. What I do is that I used my leftover skeins and try my best to match it between these four butterflies.

To date, I always use DMC floss to stitch my pattern. They have wide selection of colors which is easy for me to pick and match. The floss also gives a nice shine when you stitch it.

If you noticed I haven't written about cross stitching for a while.I have been keeping myself busy looking new things to do. I am the type of person easily sunk into boredom doing the same thing again and again. Having said that, here's to show my little progress on BUMBLE-BEE and SWAN COTTAGE....Just a brief note from me...

My bumblebee

I never thought that it will take longer time to stitch this petite pattern of mine . As you can see, the pattern wasn't that hard to stitch but maybe I have been busy with some other stuff or should I say - I have just been plain lazy - for lack of a better word . I have always wanted to try something new but I just couldn't put a finger on it..There is one thing in my mind, I think I should try my hands on something cooking-related and it sound a little bit silly but who cares. Two things that I have always long - making decorative cookies or cook some of mouth watering cuisines one would never dream to even resist.

My swan cottage

This project has been far far away behind the expected finishing date. I am supposed to finish this project within 3 months of time that I gave to my self..I can't even remember the date I started stitching this pattern. If not mistaken, I bought the pattern and also the skeins somewhere in June 2007. It was almost 3 months ago. I have always started cross stitching right away after I bought the kit. It should be finished by now or in 80% of progress. No problem and no rush ..The finishing date has just expired and I am setting up a new one. My next targeted finishing date will be on the first day of November..Let's just see if it can be done in 6 weeks time. I will promise to my self not to carry forward this project until next year..I have tons of stash that awaits me and I can't stop myself from start a new ones. WELL!!!! IT IS SO TEMPTING..

First born
The most unforgettable moment in my life was being sent to the "labor room". It happened 6 yrs ago. I was lucky to be his wife. Do you know there was small television in my labor room? Yeah....But it was not a place where the 'little ones' coming from.

Best movie ever by Michael Bay...Astonishing cinematography.....My favorite scene was when Bumblebee was captured. I hope everyone remembered that scene...There was when I almost shed a tear...I almost cried for a robot for goodness sake!! To me he is the true hero of the movie.. The mighty Optimus prime is such a coward ...especially when he abandoned Bumblebee to fight alone...pity him...here is the trailer

By the way I am so into another movie by Michael Bay called The Rock. This scene.....it hit me hard inside. Just embedded the scene down here....Shower Room ( It is not what you think ...yeah...yeah)

Don't invite me.....
I hate sport as much as it could be. I used to have well-shaped nice cutting body before I got married and that was why he married me, I think. But it's gone in just a couple of months after the wedding but there's no regret whatsoever. My bad attitude (or should I say -laziness) towards anything that has to do with getting fit started right after the first-and-the-only born. During my "starvation-cum-recovery timeframe", I was made to refrain from having all the best food that I have enjoyed before. By the way, this period starts right after you give birth throughout the next 40 days. This is a common practice where I came from. My hubby was such a good sport after all and spoiled me then and let me have my "vengeance" till I turn into a giant big balloon. Then it was too late.

I almost finish my love wreath free pattern...I hope it can be done by this month

meaning in the end of June 2007. Here is a love wreath update. I haven't taken a picture before now as I haven't really worked on it properly for a while now, but I have done a wee bit more. I am hoping to do some more work on it once the model has been finished which I am hoping is soon. I just love its colors and my husband is looking forward to seeing it finished. He has been very, very patient with me, but then again he knows me toooo well lol.

I will be taking this with me when i go away for a week, so hopefully I will have it close to being done when I come back all being well. I have a few things to do first before I can get back to it.

Tulips In a Basket
(A tribute to my late Mother-in-law)

I wish to share with you the story behind these stitches. They vividly remind me of my dearly departed mother in law. We used to share this common love for cross stitch - sadly these stitches above are the last ones I gave her. She wanted to do it herself when her cancer
began taking her passion away.

In relation to Mother's Day last Sunday I dedicate this posting to my late mother in law wishing her all the happiness in her afterlife. She was a good caring mother to my dear husband who till today thinks her passing too little too soon. I started working on these patterns way back in 1998. She loved tulips so much but I was the one who volunteered to stitch it as she hardly had the time and later she fell victim to liver cancer that her took her away in 2002.

Started stitching this pattern a few years back. Probably 3 to 4 years ago that is. Anyway, it turned out that the moment I got down to it - the whole thing kinda turned me off. Why? Because I was supposed to combine colors in between to make it work. Call me lazy but when it comes to combining two or more colors.....Anyway what I did was choosing the next closest color to the combination and then proceed stitching. Now, it doesn't look too bad does it.

LOVE WREATH

Got this pattern while surfing on the internet - on top of that it's free.Especially when it comes to cross stitch - free patterns are hard to come by.I think it was originally purple in color but I personally think pink would even look nicer.
Why pink? The color pink gives the subtle soft touch lending a more feminine element to it.I would love to share this pattern with all my fellow cross stitch aficionados. On top of that,I definitely would look forward to seeing the pattern in some other color combination as well.Once I'm done with the stitching, I will make it a point to attach the photo in this posting.
