Hi Travel lovers...

If you are planning to visit Pachmarhi, here you will find all the relevant information about the place. If you are not planning… You are missing one very beautiful place on earth :)

Pachmarhi (also called Pachmadhi) is in Hoshangabad district in state Madhya Pradesh. This is the only hill station in M.P.; however we visited from 22^nd to 24^th December 2013 and found the temperature hotter than Delhi. Our guide told us that sometimes mercury touches zero in winters and we were lucky to find the temperature pleasant. So if you are going in winters – don’t forget to pack your woolens.

Bee Fall

How to reach:

By Air – nearest airport is Bhopal (approx 200 KMs)

By Train – Nearest station is Pipariya (station code PPI) which is approx 50 KMs from Pachmarhi.

By Road: Regular bus services from Bhopal, Hoshangabad, Nagpur, Pipariya.

Tip: the faster way - Reach Pipariya station and take a taxi to Pachmarhi.

Champak Bunglow

From Pipariya - If you take a separate taxi (Indigo) – it will cost you 500-600 INR, If you share the taxi with any other couple (drivers will arrange that) – it will cost you approx 250 – 300 INR. If you take shared Bolero – it will cost you 60/- per person, but driver will ask you to sit on back seats not front or middle seats. In shared bolero they will book front seats for a couple for approx 200 INR and middle seats for approx 300 INR. If you pay that amount, no other person will sit on those seats except you.

Bus fare is 50 INR per person.

Tip: Take a shared Indigo for 250/-

From Pipariya to Pachmarhi, approx 25 KMs travel is in plains and after that hilly area will start so you will go approx 25 KMs uphill in order to reach Pachmarhi. On your way to Pachmarhi you will see a point – Denwa Darshan (your driver will show you the place without asking)

Near Bee Fall

There are a number of hotels in Pachmarhi ranging from 800 to 5000/- per night. You will also find lots of cottages there mostly from MP tourism. I stayed at Champak Bunglow (MP tourism hotel) which was very good and staff also was very courteous. However the hotel is little outside from Pachmarhi and far from market.

I got to know that Hotel Amaltash is not very good so book the hotel with caution :)

You can also book Hotel Highland – another MPT hotel, located just at the entrance of Pachmarhi (however far from market).

If you have enough time and want to visit each and every place in and around Pachmarhi – you require 4 days; however to visit main attraction points only two days are sufficient.

JataShankar

For personal taxi – you will be charged 1250/- per day. Some visiting places are forest entry points for that you have to pay 700/- as an entry fee (400 entry fee and 300/- guide charges which is mandatory). The ticked is valid only for same day at all forest entry points.

Generally first day you will visit temples in Pacharhi which you can also visit by your own car. Taxi will charge 1250/- for personal and 600/- in sharing with any other couple.

Second day you will visit forest entry points. For that you have to hire Gypsy as only petrol Gypsy is allowed in the forest. For personal Gypsy you have to pay 1250/- + 700 forest entry ticket, while in sharing you have to pay 600 for Gypsy + 233/- for forest entry (3 couples share a Gypsy)

Tip: ask your driver to cover maximum forest entry points to avoid entry charges on third day

However you will not be able to cover duchess fall and Dhoopgarh on same day but will cover maximum points. If you are interested – third day is for these points. Our guide told us that it takes 4-5 hrs to cover Duchess fall so can’t be covered on second day along with Silver fall, bee fall etc

Tip: Be ready for tracking in the forest. You have to walk into the Jungle to see the falls. Travel light and wear shoes.

Tip: if you have very small kids – hire a Pithoo (One who carries the baby) as it will be very inconvenient to track into the forest along with small kids

If you are planning to visit Chauragarh – you need one entire day. For reaching the temple you have to travel into woods approx 3 KM (One way) and have to climb 1365 stairs. Chauragarh is the highest mountain in Pachmarhi. Very few people visit the place.

Nandan van is a good economic restaurant to eat. It’s near Children’s park and opposite rock garden.

There are a lot of monkeys in Pachmarhi so do not leave your luggage or any item in Gypsy

Aam Aadmi ki Mehngi Rail: New Railway Fares Effective From 22/01/2013

Aam Aadmi's (Common Man) rail is just costlier from Tuesday (22 January 2013). If you remember, last year Mr. Dinesh Trivedi was derailed due to fare hikes and Mamta Banarjee created a political drama on the issue. Now overcoming all that phase finally Indian Railways has announced to increase the passenger fare after a decade.

A glimpse of revised passenger fare:

2 Paisa Per Passenger KM (PKM) for Ordinary Second class (Sub urban)
3 Paisa per PKM for Ordinary Second class (Non-suburban)
4 Paisa Per PKM for Second Class (Mail/Express)
6 Paisa per PKM for sleeper class
10 Paisa Per PKM for AC chair car
10 Paisa for AC 3 tier
3 Paisa for first class
6 Paisa for AC 2 tier
10 Paisa for AC first class

Minimum Chargeable Fare: 5/-

Rounding off Fares: In Multiples of 5 Rupees

So after higher price for Petrol, Diesel, LPG... be ready for higher train fares.

Hi... Though I am quite late in sharing this update but I thought it might still be useful. Last quarter of the year brings festive season in India and due to that we can witness a lot of passenger movement, long queues at ticket counters and unavailability of confirmed seats etc. Like previous years, this year also Indian Railways has announced special trains for this festive season. To perform the calculations, simply open Google and enter the expression you'd like to evaluate in Google's web search box and hit the ENTER key or click the "Google Search" button.

Below are a few expressions or commands for Basic Arithmetic -

Movie Certifications in India - What is U / UA / A / S / PG

Have you ever noticed U / UA / A etc whenever you go watch a movie... I believe you must have because this is mandatory for every movie (whether short, long) to get a certificate from Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) before its public exhibition.

CBFC works under Information and Broadcasting Ministry (GOI) as per the provisions of Cinematograph Act 1952 and Cinematograph certification rules 1983 and it certifies the contents for all movies, music videos, documentaries (moving images) before they are displayed to public.

CBFC has categorized the movies mainly into four categories based on their contents -

U - Universal: Unrestricted Public Exhibition. These films are suitable for all age groups including children. These films should not upset children over four.
UA - Under Parental Guidance: Films under this category are also unrestricted for public exhibition but parental discretion is required for children below 12 years because certain scenes may be unsuitable for them.
A - Adults Only: Restricted to Adults. Nobody under 18 is allowed to watch movies under A certification.
S - Special Class: These movies are restricted to any special class of persons like army, doctors etc
PG - Parental Guidance (Strongly Advised): Currently this certification is not a part of standard certification process by CBFC but Bitto Boss (2012) is the first movie in India to get PG recommendation from CBFC. PG certification is followed in Britain by British Board of Film Certification (BBFC).

So next time whenever you watch a movie, check for its certification (for your knowledge).

Emergency Number 911

If you are a Hollywood movie fan, you should have listened 'CALL 911' in case of any emergency. Even if you are not, there is a good chance that you know 911 is an emergency number because it comes preprogrammed with most of the mobile phones.

Listening 911 frequently struck in my mind that why this three digit number was used as an emergency number in U.S. and here we go..

The idea behind emergency number was to provide a single number, calling which any emergency like police, medical, fire etc could be reported. Britain was the first country to use three digit number '999' in 1937. U.S also realized the need of an emergency number so in 1967 Federal Communications Commissions and Alabama Telephone Company came together to establish such an emergency number that was unique, short and easy and that's how 911 came into existence in 1968. For maintaining its uniqueness 911 has never been assigned for any area code, service code, phone code since then.

First 911 Call - The first 911 call was placed on February 16, 1968 in Alabama by Alabama speaker Rankin Fite and this call was answered by Tom Bevill who was congressmen at that time.

Emergency Number in India - In India there was no single emergency number until the introduction of 2611. For Police you need to dial 100, in case of fire - 101, For medical help - 102, and dial 108 for child, women and senior citizen protection, however 2611 integrates all these helpline numbers. If you find it difficult to remember 2611, remember the November 26th attacks in Mumbai because the number relates to that attack.

Hope no one need to dial an emergency number.

This was the short story of a website founded by Kim Dotcom, around 6 years ago. Kim Dotcom was arrested on 19th January in New Zealand, along with Mathias Ortmann (Key Technical Officer), Van der Kolk and Finn Batato (employees).

FBI has put an anti piracy warning on megaupload.com and all its sister companies with mention of law sections and reasons for ban.

World Cup 2011 is over but we still are in the Hangover of Team India's victory (Its obvious for cricket fans like us..). We really want this thrill to be continued and it will be, because another adrenaline pumping bigger tournament is going to start within a few hours... IPL 4

First Cheers to All..!! After 28 years we won again and nothing can be a moment happier that that for an Indian. The entire Indian team sailed the boat hard and Dhoni made it sure that it didn't sink in between. (However some so called bold decision of Dhoni are debatable.. but who cares now :) ).

Google Instant Previews after Google Instant Search

I love to put an update about Google, as this is the best search engine in my opinion. Apart from this, Google is committed to simplicity and innovation, and due to that commitment we experience great features from Google time to time.

I hope you all are aware of Google Instant search. (For those who are not - Google launched this service a few days ago. Your search becomes faster when instant search is on, because Google displays the search results instantly, as you type in the search bar. So you don't have to click the search button).

Now it's the Google Instant Preview that has been launched recently. When Google will display the search results in response to your query, there will be a magnifying glass at the end of each search result. You have to click the magnifying glass once and you are done. You have activated Google Instant preview. Now you just have to hover your mouse over any other search result and you will see the preview of that page, without visiting or clicking the link. Isn't it great??? It really is, as people use other services for previewing the pages, (I use CoolPreviews for example).

The disadvantage I found here was, so small previewing pane that you can't read what is written inside the page. But as always.. Google will find a way out..

If you have not got this.. wait for some time, Google is gradually rolling this service for all users.

British Monarchy on Facebook

Facebook is becoming more and more popular these days. No doubt it is number one social networking site in the world, having more than half a billion active users around the world.

Now the big news is that Queen Elizabeth has joined the Facebook. Yes... British Monarchy has created a Facebook page on last Monday 8th Nov 2010. The royal Monarchy wants to keep themselves up to date with the latest technology and they feel pride in that.

However there are certain restrictions for the users.. for example you can't send the friend request to Queen or can't access the details about Queen. The only option is to "Like" the page to get updates from royal family. Hours after the page went live on Monday, more than 50,000 people had liked it. At present the count has increased to more that 189,000. British Monarchy seems to be very active also, as within two days there are 29 albums and 39 links.

Now Google Launched Music Service For India

Google... The only name in search engine.. YouTube (owned by Google).. The only name in videos.. Gmail.. The only name in free email service... and many other great services that Google has provided us and made our life very easy. I am a great fan of Google and its services due to its ease of operation and simplicity and I bet 80% of you would be agree with me.. :)

Now the question is... what do you use to listen the songs online??? You might say songs.pk or desiweb.net or raaga.com or in.com or some might say youtube those who have got good broadband connection to buffer videos (or many more).. But how about if your Favorite Google launch its own Bollywood music service.

So the great news for music lovers (like my friend Ashu) is that they can directly listen the Hindi songs from Google Music with simplest approach. For this Google has partnered with in.com, saavn and Saregama. Currently only Hindi songs are available, but we may expect songs in other languages too in near future. You can search a song by song name, artist name, movie name etc.

The only disadvantage I found, there was no indexing and on the home page only a few movies links have been provided. But as we all know Google is committed to innovation so they will make it better day by day. Surely Google music is worth to try.

Hi Friends..

Today I visited to DLF Saket Mall in the evening. It was not my first time to this mall, but today I observed a very good number of footfalls compared to any other day. My curiosity ended when I came to know that John Abraham was coming there to promote his latest movie - Jhootha Hi Sahi.

Jhootha Hi Sahi (JHS) has been directed by Abbas Tyrewala, whom wife Pakhi is also in the opposite role of John. MTV star Raghu is also there in the movie. The movie was supposed to release on 15th Oct. but get delayed due to A.R. Rahman. He is busy with CWG work so couldn't do some final work on movie. Now it will be released on 22 Oct.

Hi, this post is dedicated to all my Facebookaholic friends.

Facebook is a great social networking platform, and we all are social animals..that's why we love facebook. We play Farmville, send gifts, share videos, like posts, comment on status messages and send friendship requests. We always want to be connected with all of our friends. But what if you sent friendship request to someone and he / she ignored it?? You never know who turned down your request or what is the status of your request. But after reading this you can figure out all this. Isn't it great??

Unfriend Finder is a great greasemonkey script, which will tell you the status of your friendship request . Once installed, this script embeds with the FB menu like other menu buttons and notify you if someone denies your friendship proposal(the same way you are notified when someone comments on your link or status).

Above are some snap shots that how it changes your profile.

Ok Don't Jump with curiosity, just follow these simple steps to make your FB account different -

1. First you have to enable greasemonkey script in your browser. No need to panic with this name. You can install it in any browser, but I will tell you about my lovely Firefox. However you may get instructions for other browsers from here.

(i) Click here and click on "add to firefox" green colored button.

(ii) A pop up window will come asking for installation, click on install now button. After installing this you have to restart your browser.

(iii) You can observe a monkey icon in the extreme right bottom of your browser window. It means the add on installed correctly.

(iv) Now close your facebook tab (if opened) and click here, this is the page from userscript website. Click on the install button there on the right side and install it.

Congratulations.. You are done!! Now open your facebook profile and you will find the unfriends tab there.

Now a days there is a lot more buzz around Reality TV shows. Most of us really like to watch them with deep interests, but do they know the reality of reality shows??

In simple language a Reality show is a series of TV program, which records and present the original, unscripted actual events and situations, usually by ordinary people. Well I am not agree with the definition. As you should have observed, recently in almost all reality shows, celebrities and professional actors are participating. Currently Big Boss 4 is being aired (and I see that people around me are mad for that :)) and who are participants?.. Shiney Ahuja, Chunky Pandey, Sara Khan, Manoj Tiwari and many more. (Its a bad news for Big Boss lovers that Pamela Anderson denied for show.)

So coming back to flash back, first reality show was Allen Funt's Candid Camera, that was aired in 1948. Till then numerous species of reality shows have evolved, like game show, talk show, fear show, adventure show, talent show, competition show, laughter shows etc. etc....

If we talk our India, the fashion here is, if something is hit, you will get the carbon copies of that instantly (that even in bulk). From past 2-3 years I am observing that all news channels are broadcasting comedy reality shows. There is a host, a few participants and 3-4 Judges. The Judges praise almost every participant, laugh boisterously on every performance and it looks like you are watching repeat show (however its better than watching Sas-Bahu serials..Oops.. sorry ladies).

People are crazy for reality shows. They think this is one of the fastest ways of getting instant fame.. I agree a bit, but can you guess the ratio of person who shine to who apply. Hits are on finger tips while you can't hold the rest crazy crowd in both of your arms. If you want to read how reality shows fool us, read this article from times magazine.

Zero Milestone... The Introductory Post

Saturday Night... 2nd October... International Non-Violence day... Peace Day... A Dry day... It was Mahatma Gandhi's Birthday. So it was the perfect day to start something new... Something Interesting... Something Inspiring and Something that can help others also (if they read of-course :) ), and that's how my journey of blogging started.

I got bored with that blue colored social networking website (Yeah, you guessed it right), means there is no point to refresh the news feed in every 5 or 10 minutes to check, if there is something new, but we all do that and curse that, and its addiction is greater than alcohol (check this interesting video), so I thought to be addict of something else... something of my own... my blog. (well to be honest, I can't let the facebook go away, so I have added facebook buttons on my blog too, as I love facebook :) ).

Finally I am not an expert in blogging, I am a science student, turned to a pharmacist, to an MBA student, to a Sales Manager and to a Researcher, So I request all the readers to share their views about any post, through valuable comments.

Ohh... Am I killing you with this speech note..?? Ok.. Last two words..
