Apple Ipad 3 rumours

2011-12-14T16:32:00.003+04:00

----------------------------------------------------------

Apple iPad 3 release date

On 1 July, Digitimes reported that Taiwanese-based component suppliers were gearing up for production of the iPad 3. In October 2011 it was later reported that production would certainly start before the end of the year.

However, during August, a rumour broke that Apple was set to delay the launch of the iPad 3, due to a shortage of retina displays from its suppliers LG and Samsung - more on the display shortly.

Digitimes reported in late November 2011 that panel makers had already started shipping panels for the new iPad 3 - a million in October and two million in November.

Interestingly, in November 2011, Digitimes suggested that the spring's new iPad would, in fact, be a revised iPad 2, with a brand new iPad design due later in 2012.

Foxconn, Apple's major manufacturing partner, is also said to be starting production on the iPad 3 in January. Digitimes says the new model is expected to meet the heady heights of 9.5 to 9.8 million units over the course of Q1 2012.

The iPad 3 release date looks set for Spring 2012, with Citi analyst Richard Gardner even predicting it could be as early as February.

The Apple iPad 3 UK release date is a mystery

With Apple unable to meet initial demand for the iPad 2, we'd expect a staggered release date for the iPad 3 too: Apple will most likely follow the pattern it has with the previous two iPad launches and have a US release first, followed by a UK release days later.

According to the Korea Times in November 2011, the A6 processors are to be manufactured by Samsung, despite the companies' ongoing patent battles.

The Apple iPad 3 specs include a dual-core processor...

It's possible that the iPad 3 will have a brand spanking new processor, Apple's A6 - which will surely be a quad-core ARM-based processor. Quad-core designs are imminent from all ARM partners.

Apple iPad 3 display

A retina display was widely predicted for the iPad 2, but of course the current iPad doesn't have a double-resolution display: for now, that's something you'll only get in the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S. Could an iPad 3 Retina Displaybe on the way? It's the very first thing on our iPad 3 wish list.

The exciting news is that it looks as though it is happening, with Apple reportedly testing suppliers' current shipments of 2048 x 1536 resolution 9.7-inch displays.

However, rumours continued over the summer and autumn of 2011 that the retina display in the iPad 3 was continuing to be a challenge.

Rumours of an HD screen on the iPad 3 gathered pace on 12 April 2011 when Digitimes reported that Apple is asking panel makers to provide screens that are capable of displaying higher image quality than the iPad 2.

Back in May 2011, we reported that the iPad 3 could launch with a Samsung-made AMOLED screen, following rumours that Apple has been in talks on the matter with Samsung execs. There have also been more LG and Samsung rumours, too.

On 15 June we reported that the iOS 5 code hinted at a Retina Display for the Apple iPad 3, although

More rumours in mid-November 2011 said that Apple is looking to implement some nifty dual LED lightbar technology into the iPad 3. The reason? It's apparently in a bid to counter-balance the brightness issue that the Apple tablet may have, due to its super-high pixel density.

However, according to the Wall Street Journal in late November, Sharp will manufacture standard LCD panels to the device. Apparently Apple is investing in infrastructure at Sharp's LCD plant.

Will the iPad 3 have a smaller dock connector?

Parts previewed on some websites indicate that, although the iPad 3 will still have a 30 pin dock connector, the packaging is streamlined. Well, if this is true, we knew it would happen sooner or later.

The iPad 3 hardware could include an NFC chip

Apple's very interested in Near Field Communications, and one particularly tasty rumour at Cult of Mac suggests that the iPhone 5 will use NFC to take over nearby Macs, enabling you to use your data and settings with a flick of the wrist.

The iPad 3 specifications will include more storage

The iPad 2 has the familiar 16/32/64GB storage options, but as flash storage comes down in price, a 128GB option for the iPad 3 isn't impossible - although that might depend on the situation in Asia, where natural disasters have caused chaos in parts of the electronics industry this year.

The iPad 3 features could include a Thunderbolt port

Two generations of USB-free iPads suggest that Apple just isn't interested in adding one, but the new Thunderbolt port found in the 2011 MacBook Pro and MacBook Air could be another story: it's a combined accessory/display connector with astonishingly fast performance.

iPad 3 to be a 4G LTE unit?

Cnet.com believes that the new iPad may feature a Qualcomm 4G LTE Gobi 4000 chip for next-gen connectivity.

There could be more than one iPad 3

TUAW says the iOS 5 code features new code files for USB devices in the iOS 5 firmware, Through this, TUAW found references to an iPad 3,1 and an iPad 3,2.

The iPad 3 could be thicker

The iPad 3 might be bulking out, reportedly so it can house a higher-resolution display than the iPad 2, and the extra girth is all down to pixel density.

The iPad 3 could be made by someone other than Foxconn

Apple was said to be in talks with another Far Eastern manufacturer as the release of the iPad 3 nears. Digitimes says that as there was a fire at usual supplier Foxconn in May, Quanta Computer and Pegatron Technology could benefit.

On 1 August it was reported that a contract had definitely gone to Pegatron rather than Foxconn.

The iPad 3 specs might include an SD card slot

This was widely predicted for the iPad 2 and, like the Retina Display, didn't materialise. One for version 3, perhaps? Using a separate adapter to read camera cards is rather inelegant and clunky.

The iPad 3 specification should include a better camera

The rear-facing camera on the iPad 2 isn't brilliant: an iPhone 4S-style camera and flash would do nicely.

The iPad 3 might use gesture controls

Could the iPad 3 have Kinect-style gesture controls? We're not so sure, but rumours suggested so in late October 2011.

The iPad 3 could feature a carbon fibre case

Apple has hired a carbon fibre expert, senior composites engineer Kevin Kenney, fuelling speculation that the next iPad could be encased in the lightweight material.

International expansion: Mauritius Telecom is investing Rs 34 million at Sonata Software

2011-12-02T14:19:00.001+04:00

----------------------------------------------------------

After taking over of the telephone operator in Vanuatu, a small market of 65 000 inhabitants, the Mauritius Telecom has purchased shares in an Indian company, Sonata Software.

MT bought 2.36 million shares at Rs 25.4 unit for an amount of Rs 34 million (60 million Indian rupees). This deal is the result of the sale of shares of a shareholder of Sonata Software.
The Indian company is listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange. Sonata Software specializes in IT services and technology. Founded in 1986, the company has 2800 employees, mostly young graduates in information technology. However, the price of the company at the Indian stock market is not the best.
For some investments MT seem a harsh response to the remarks of the Minister of Technology, Tassarajen Pillay, who said in an interview recently that the strategic alliance with France Telecom, in which MT sold 40% of its capital, was nothing we did provided in terms of regional expansion.
Those familiar with the telecommunications market show that Maurice did not take any regional initiative since the arrival of France Telecom, it seems to favor the expansion of its parent company in Africa.

Difference between capacitive and resistive touchscreens?

2011-12-02T08:31:00.001+04:00

----------------------------------------------------------Cellphones and other personal electronic devices are sometimes equipped with touch screens, and there are two quite different kinds in common use.

A resistive touchscreen has two thin layers of conductive but transparent film above the screen, and measures the change in resistance between the two layers due to the pressure of touch.

A capacitive touchscreen measures the interaction between an electrical signal on a transparent grid above the screen and the user’s finger.

Resistive touchscreens are cheaper to make, but don’t support multi-touch. If the user presses with more than one finger the device can’t determine the position of the multiple fingers. Multi-touch for resistive displays has been demonstrated in the lab, but is not currently practical for consumer devices.

Resistive touchscreens drift slowly over time, and need to be recalibrated. This is a simple operation. You point to some dots on the screen, and the software adjusts where you pointed to match the position where the dots were displayed.

You need to press down as you operate a resistive touchscreen. On the upside, you can use a stylus to operate the touchscreen very accurately. However, if you are dragging the cursor across the screen you will feel a definite friction.

A capacitive screen is beautifully smooth to operate because it just requires the presence of your finger, not any pressure. The flip side of this is that you can’t use a stylus. Well, actually there is a kind of chunky stylus that mimics the capacitance of a human finger, but it’s not elegant to use.

You also can’t operate a capacitive screen while you’re wearing gloves (not that it’s super-easy operating a resistive screen with gloves) although you can buy expensive gloves with conductive fingertips that carry the capacitance of your finger to the screen.

A resistive screen can be made pressure-sensitive, so that applications may distinguish between a light and a heavy touch. A capacitive screen just knows “finger present” and “finger absent”.

So which is it to be? Personally I find the easy operation of the capacitive screen to be far more pleasant, but resistive screens have their fans too. The current state-of-the-art could perhaps be summarized as “resistive is best for a stylus, capacitive is best for finger-only operation”.

Examples of devices with capacitive touchscreens are the iPhone, iPod Touch, and G1 Android phone. Devices with resistive touchscreens include the LG Viewty phone and the Nokia Internet Tablets.

An eel of 15 cm sneaks into his penis

2011-11-26T19:59:00.001+04:00

----------------------------------------------------------

Zhang Nan, a Chinese 56 years, took a bath of eels to look younger, when he felt a very sharp pain!

Indeed, a small eel six inches (15 cm) was inserted into the penis through the urethra and went back to his bladder. The poor man must have had a dramatic vision, he believed that the eels would just take care to eat his dead skin: "I was in the bath and I could feel the eels around my body. But suddenly I felt a pain and I realized that a small eel beyond the tip of my penis. " "I tried to escape, but was too slippery eel and disappeared into my penis. " Nan Zhang then went to the emergency, and only after a 3 hour operation that doctors were able to get the eel's body man. It was dead when doctors found it. The surgeon in charge of the operation said that due to the slippery nature of the eel, it was able to slide easily into the genital Mr Nan. "The diameter of the urethra of the penis of a man is just a bit closer, but because the eels are very slippery, it was used as a lubricant and was able to enter the penis gently," at he said.

Cader Sayed Hossen and Mahen-Jhugroo expelled from Parliament

2011-11-24T13:23:00.001+04:00

----------------------------------------------------------Stormy session in the National Assembly last night, Wednesday, November 23. The Minister of Industry and Trade, Cader Sayed Hossen, and the member of the MSM, Mahen Jhugroo, were expelled from the chamber. The incident occurred as the Minister of Business and Cooperatives, Jim Seetaram was subjected to a barrage of questions from Parliamentarians of MMM in the Budget Review Committee 2012.

Jim Seetaram had much to do in this section of questions / answers. He had to seek help from ministers and Michael Cader Sayed Sik Yuen-Hossen to answer questions. This has amused the parliamentarians on both sides of the room. After several calls to order, the hon Jhugroo Mahen, who kept laughing, was expelled. Ditto for Cader Sayed Hossen, for throwing a remark to the member of the MSM. Earlier, the Minister of Social Integration, Suren Dayal, lost his temper when he was interviewed during the review of the Budget Committee 2012. Which caused an uproar in the hemicycle.

At the end of the work around 2:00 this morning, Vice Premier and Minister of Public Utilities, Rashid Beebeejaun, filed a motion for the adjournment to Tuesday, November 29. A motion which has angered members of the opposition.

Egypt: the government resigns and Tahrir flares again

2011-11-22T09:08:00.001+04:00

----------------------------------------------------------

For the third consecutive day, police and protesters demanding the departure from power of the Army clashed Monday, November 21 on Tahrir Square in Cairo against a background of political crisis with the resignation of the interim government.
The violence that recall the worst of the "revolution of the Nile," killed at least 33 dead. Around midnight, some 20,000 people were still massed in the square, the Mecca of the anti-Mubarak, with thousands more in the adjacent streets.
"The people want the fall of Marshal!" Chanted the crowd to Marshal Mohamed Hussein Tantawi, Minister of Defense of the "raise" fallen for twenty years before taking the reins of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (AFSC ) in power since the departure of Hosni Mubarak.
By late evening, the AFSC issued a statement calling for calm and urging political forces in crisis talks to find a way out. The generals expressed their "deep regret for the victims of these unfortunate incidents," said the official MENA news agency.
"We call on all members of the nation to exercise the utmost restraint to avoid further victims," said the army.
The Military Council does not, however, he accepted the resignation of the interim government, scheduled for Sunday. According to one military source, the AFSC would try to reach agreement on the name of a new prime minister.
The resignation of all cabinet members is a severe blow to the authority of the Military Council.
The burning of Tahrir Square comes a week before parliamentary elections on November 28, the first election of the post-Mubarak.
The morgue of the main hospital in Cairo received 33 bodies since Saturday. At least 1,250 people were injured, they say the Ministry of Health.
The authorities claim that the police did not open fire on protesters but most of the corpses in the morgue had bullet holes, according to a medical source.
"The military regime is dead, is dead," shouted the protesters. "Freedom, freedom!" intend it as well.
Other slogans aimed Marshal Hussein Tantawi, who was for twenty years the Minister of Defence of Mubarak and chaired the AFSC.
CLIMATE OF INSECURITY
Monday, the army assured that it did not take sides between the demonstrators and the police and had not attempted to remove the demonstrators in Tahrir Square.
The Interior Ministry has sought the protection of the army and similar protection can be offered to the protesters, said Gen. Said Abbas, Deputy Head of Central Command. (See)
"I saw the police beating women who were of age my mother. I want the end of military rule," said Mohamed Gamal, 21.
Part of the Egyptians are opposed to these events, wishing a return to stability given the dilapidated state of the economy. Other Egyptians, whose Islamist favorites elections, suspect the army to maintain a climate of insecurity to stay in place.
The army ensures that the violence will not prevent the organization of the first phase of parliamentary elections.
The generals planning to hold most of the power until the appointment by direct vote of the next president, which may not occur before the end of next year or early 2013.
"PRACTICES OF THE OLD REGIME"
The security forces have cleared internet video, whose authenticity could not be verified, showing police beating demonstrators, dragging by the hair and in one case, throwing a pile of garbage what appears to be a corpse.
Movement of 6-April at the forefront of protest against the Mubarak regime, said the agency Mena that the occupation of Tahrir Square would continue until its demands were not accepted.
He claims including the holding of presidential elections by next April and the formation of a government of national salvation instead of the AFSC.
Mohamed ElBaradei and Abdallah al Achaal, potential candidates for president, also called for the formation of a government of national salvation, the agency Mena reported.
The Muslim Brotherhood, whose party is the favorite of the elections, condemned the intervention of security forces in Cairo even if they themselves had previously removed from Tahrir Square. "It recalls the practices of the Department of the Interior of the former regime," they said in a statement.
The Foreign Secretary, William Hague, said that Egypt lived a "dangerous time" while Ban Ki-moon, Secretary General of the UN, called on authorities to ensure the transition "(...) defense of human rights and fundamental freedoms for all Egyptians, including the right to demonstrate peacefully. "
Catherine Ashton, spokesman of European diplomacy, called for restraint and announced that the EU was ready to send observers to the elections on November 28.

Spaniards to the polls to punish the Socialists

2011-11-20T19:49:00.001+04:00

----------------------------------------------------------

Spanish voters to the polls this Sunday as part of early parliamentary'élections should spend the end of the outgoing government socialist, a victim of the economic crisis, and bring to power the Popular Party (PP) center-right. Polls close at 19:00 GMT (23:00 to Mauritius) and the final results are expected in the evening.
Training conservative Mariano Rajoy in the polls has a solid lead over the Socialist Party of outgoing prime minister, Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, in power for seven years. The voters blame the Socialists for the delay in responding to rectify the economy and curb unemployment, the rate (21%) is highest in the European Union.
Unlike the Greeks, whose demonstrations against austerity caused a political crisis, the Spanish seem willing to tighten our belts and suffer budget cuts in the areas of health and education background of the debt crisis that has overcame the Greek governments, Portuguese, Italian and Irish.
"I will vote for the PP, just so that there is a change. We need people to restore order. It is a shame to have 5 million unemployed. They should do something but I do know what, "said Angel, 35, who lost his job as bus driver. With one in five Spanish unemployment, the economy dominated the election campaign amid concerns of a return to recession in the fourth largest economy in the euro zone next year, for the second time in three years.
END of the socialist era
After two failures legislation against socialists, Mariano Rajoy is moving towards the most complete victory of a conservative party since the restoration of democracy in Spain in the late 1970s after the dictatorship of General Franco.
The former interior minister, aged 56, should not take an oath before the month of December, but should in the meantime, however, seek to reassure the bond market by unveiling its upstream measures to reduce the deficit and boost competitiveness.
Sign of nervousness in the bond markets, the Spanish 10-year bonds were traded this week at a rate close to 7%, the highest since the inception of the euro area.
Battered by the crisis, José Luis Zapatero has decided not to run for third term and the Socialists have placed their hopes in Alfredo Perez Rubalcaba, however, which is struggling to stand out from the outgoing prime minister.
On the eve of the elections on Saturday, some 200 protesters from the movement " Indignados " gathered in the Puerta del Sol in Madrid to call for a boycott of the two main parties in the country. " The situation in Spain is not good and we must show , "said one of the demonstrators, Luis Garcia. "The two main parties are the slaves of bankers."
The movement of " Indignados ", inspired by the " Arab spring ", was launched during the campaign for local and regional elections of 22 May to protest against government policy which, according to activists, offers them no future . Relatively quiet during the campaign, "Indignados" are ready to resurface once the new government presents its austerity plan.
