Justin Bieber Sued By RC3 App makers

RC3, a maker of Android apps, isn't about to be backed down by the legal demands of a teenager. The company has preemptively filed a lawsuit against Justin Bieber and claims the right to distribute a game, Joustin' Beaver, regardless of the singer's trademark and publicity right claims. The move comes two weeks after Bieber's attorneys sent the company a cease-and-desist letter that threatened litigation if the app wasn't promptly terminated.
In the lawsuit, RC3 admits that the game was inspired by Biebermania:
"In an effort to comment upon the Defendant's life, the Plaintiff, RC3 developed the aforementioned App entitled "Joustin' Beaver." The App, a video game, is a parody of the commercial success of the Defendant and any celebrity. The parody app portrays a beaver floating on a log down a river. The beaver presents with bangs, a lance, and a purple sweater. The beaver knocks 'Phot-Hogs' that are attempting to take his photograph into the river with his lance. The beaver also signs 'Otter-graphs.' The beaver also must dodge the 'whirlpool of success,' which will lead beaver out of control, while navigating the river.

Oscar host Billy Crystal says it was "great" working with teen superstar Justin Bieber in a controversial segment for last night's 84th annual Academy Awards.

"Justin Bieber was great," Crystal Says.

"He’s a really funny guy and has a wonderful sense of humor. Now if I could only have as many Twitter fans as he does!"

Justin and Crystal appeared in the opening segment of the awards show, which harpooned several of the night's Best Picture nominees. Crystal and Justin appeared together in a send up of Woody Allen's film "Midnight in Paris." In the segment, Crystal sits on a set of steps in Paris as Justin drives up in a 1920s vintage car.

"Hey you, come over here," says Justin through the car window.

When Crystal comes closer and realizes who it is, he asks, "Justin Bieber?"

"Yeah man, what's up," replies Justin. "I'm here to get you the 18-to-24 demographic."

Soon, it's revealed that there is a second occupant of the car -- Sammy Davis Jr., also played by Crystal, who often impersonated the singer on "Saturday Night Live."

He says, "Is Biebs the young Sinatra or am I nuts?"

The segment has been widely criticize as Crystal appeared in blackface in it, a move that incited ire on Twitter. Later in the evening, comedian Paul Scheer tweeted, "Octavia Spencer's win shows how far we've come since Billy Crystal performed in blackface. #TheOscars."

But Justin didn't appear put off by the segment. The "Baby" singer, who is delving into acting with a starring role in a project by Mark Wahlberg, tweeted after the show, "A BIG SHOUTOUT to Billy Crystal. Thanks for letting be a part of the show and you killed it tonight. #muchlove."

Tux-wearing Justin Bieber rolled up to the Academy Awards host, who was sitting on a stoop. "Come here, come here," he shouted to Crystal. "What's up? I'm here to get you the 18-24 demographic. So how long do you want me to sit here for?"

"A couple seconds, I think, will do it," Crystal said. The two then exchanged some awkward, lingering glances waiting out the appropriate amount of time before they could move on to the next part of their gag, which, of course, focused on Hitler and the Holocaust.

"So what are you going to do now?" Crystal inquired. Bieber replied, "We're gonna go hang out with Hemingway and Fitzgerald." That "we're" he was referring to was Bieber and Rat Packer Sammy Davis Jr.

Crystal, done up as Davis Jr., added, "And then we're gonna go kill Hitler. Billy, is Biebs the young Sinatra, or am I nuts?"

"Oh Sammy, stop it!" Bieber laughed, before pulling off.

The opening sketch also included homages to "The Artist," "The Help," "Moneyball" and "The Descendants," to name a few, with appearances by nominees including George Clooney and Jonah Hill. After the sketch closed out, Crystal hit the stage for a musical number.
