Here is a card I made for the ICS #73 sketch at Inspirational Card Sketch this week.

Altered hand sanitizer bottle

2010-08-09T19:41:00.000-05:00

I am not sure if it is an oversight but the school supply list for 1st grade did not have hand sanitizer on it. All the other grades had it on their supply list. I bought this big bottle for Addie's class. I plan to give it to the teacher with some other goodies.

Mojo 150 card sketch

2010-08-08T14:40:00.001-05:00

I used the sketch from Mojo Monday Sketch 150 as the basis for this card. Although as I look at the card and the sketch it varies quite a bit!

Post It Note Holder

2010-08-07T13:09:00.000-05:00

This is a super simply project to complete. (sorry for the upside down picture)
Supplies:
1 4x4 coaster
1 binder clip
4x4 paper square
small scrap paper
sandblock
post it notes

I adhered the 4x4 paper to the coaster. Then I sanded the edges of the paper. I adhered a small paper to the binder clip. Attached the post it notes to the coaster with the binder clip. Voila!!!

Friday Fill-Ins

2010-01-29T11:03:00.000-06:00

1. Wouldn't it be easy if Addie didn't have a cast and could buckle herself in the car.
2. Bill's hamburgers are better than ever!
3. I love the taste of chocolate.
4. Addie is watching Transformers for the millionth time in the living room.
5. The first thing we're going to do is stay inside because it is cold and icy outside.
6. Hope the trees and power lines drip, drip, drip; instead of being frozen.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to scrapbooking, tomorrow my plans include cleaning house and Sunday, I want to take a nap!

New Year

2010-01-02T09:30:00.000-06:00

Yesterday, Addie was riding her scooter outside. I snapped this picture not realizing she was in the background. I am trying to do the 365 project this year. Hopefully, I will be more successful than I was last year.

Happy New Year

2010-01-01T09:53:00.000-06:00

Happy New Year to all of my friends and family! I hope 2010 brings you wealth, good health and lots of love.

December 5th

2009-12-06T00:19:00.000-06:00

December 5th- Addie was invited to a birthday party for a little girl in her class. The invitation came in the mail last Saturday. The party was a runway extravaganza and luncheon. I explained to Addie that I thought this would be a girlie party. She said she wanted to go. So this morning we went to the party. It was a dress up party but luckily there were all sorts of costumes. Addie was a dinosaur, a knight, a ninja and a biker. She had a ton of fun.

December 4th

2009-12-04T23:18:00.000-06:00

I fell asleep earlier tonight. I woke up just a bit ago and realized I hadn't taken a picture for the day. I went back in my room to find Addie and Winston on my bed. This is a common site around here. Now I need to go carry Addie to her room. Good night!

December 3rd

2009-12-03T21:11:00.001-06:00

December 3rd. Addie is reading her book that the teacher sent home from school. Addie is a very good reader! I am so proud of her.

December 2nd

2009-12-02T20:08:00.000-06:00

I came home from Bible study this evening to my lil tattoo girl. Apparently her daddy let her put on as many tattoos she could fit on her arm. She told me the tats made her tougher. I wouldn't have let her put that many tattoos on her arm. Then she did this pose.

December 1st

2009-12-01T20:38:00.003-06:00

December 1st --Tonight we went to the Christmas parade. (Here is the rest of the story..I didnt get to finish this last night as Addie was having a melt down.) Addie and I walked over to watch the parade. The place we usually watch from is about 4 blocks from the house. Bill met us there a few minutes later. It was cold but not as cold as last year. It turns out where we were standing was a little girl and her family that Addie goes to Addie's school and aftercare program. She is older than Addie. She looked at Addie and said, "Addison is that you??" Addie said, "Hi Lauren." I was glad Addie had a friend to watch the parade with since her cousin had other plans. The parade was nice but at times I wish it were during the day so you can see better. Not all the floats or cars had lights. But our favorite part is when Santa comes around in the fire truck!!!

Happy Thanksgiving

2009-11-26T03:31:00.001-06:00

Addie made this turkey in Sunday school last week. I hope everyone has a great and blessed Thanksgiving.

I am thankful for...

2009-11-16T02:32:00.002-06:00

I am thankful for that we had two weeks without any rain. It gave us a chance to dry out. Now the rain is back but hopefully won't stay too long this time.

A sad day

2009-11-11T09:19:00.000-06:00

My Gramma passed away Monday morning. Today is her funeral. I will miss her dearly.

Christmas Tote

2009-11-08T18:02:00.000-06:00

My Momma made this beautiful Christmas tote for me. I can't wait to use it! I am so thankful that I have a talented Mom. I only wish I could sew as well as she does. I know if I practiced more at sewing I would get better but I get frustrated with it. I'll stick to paper crafts!

Prompt 5-Photo only!

2009-11-07T19:42:00.000-06:00

Public or Private-prompt 2

2009-11-06T03:06:00.000-06:00

Hmmm, I have been thinking about this prompt so it has taken me a couple of days to blog about it. Shimelle wrote about how much info do we share on the internet. For the most part, I try to keep certain info about myself private. I know not to post about vacations (even though we rarely go anyway..but on occasion.) until after the fact. And I try not to give specifics about where I live...and I am careful about not posting pictures that may give away too info of where I live. Not that this is a big secret but unfortunately there are people in this world that are evil and I would rather be safe than sorry. Thanks for reading my ramblings while I am awake in the middle of the night!

"Love Will Keep Us Together"

2009-11-05T18:01:00.000-06:00

For the better part of this morning, I was singing Captain and Tenille's Love Will Keep Us Together.

"Love, Love will keep us together
Think of me babe whenever
Some sweet talkin' girl comes along singin' his song
Don't mess around,
You just got to be strong
Just Stop, 'cause I really love You
Stop, I'll be thinking of you
Look in my heart and let love keep us together..."

Now, you are probably asking yourself why was she singing this particular song. Because this morning on my way to work the DJs were talking about Captain and Tenille's Muskrat Love. One of the DJs was claiming to say he had never heard of Captain and Tenille. Really, you don't remember Captain and Tenille Show which was a weekly variety showed that aired in 1976-1977???? Ah...come on now. The DJ is only a couple of years younger than I am. The other DJ gave him a hard time..so she started playing other Captain and Tenille songs. I was singing along with them.

Anyway, that was my big excitement today. Other than that it was just a normal day at work. Addie is spending the night with her Gram. She is out of school tomorrow so Gram is keeping her. It gives me a little break from our nightly routine. I can read some more of the blogs from other people taking Shimelle's class. YIPPIE!!!!

Playing Favorites - TV shows

2009-11-04T19:58:00.000-06:00

Today's prompt for Shimelle's class is 5 favorites of something. I decided to list my 5 favorite current TV shows.

1. NCIS (love this show..can't miss it!)
2. Criminal Minds
3. The Big Bang Theory (I started watching this show last year. It cracks me up!)
4. Two and Half Men (Another shows that cracks me up!)
5. NCIS Los Angeles (Chris O'Donnell = nice eye candy)
