Once you have your new place decorated to your liking you will finally start to feel at home. You just want to create a comfy home for you, your family, and also for people who come to visit.

I want my place to have a nice homey vibe that will make my guests feel just as they do in their own homes. I want it to be a safe, friendly place that will make them want to come back. They can just come in take off their shoes, have a beer, or a glass of wine, and kick back for a bit. I want them to feel as though they are part of the family.

There have been homes I've visited that felt frigid, and damp. The kind of home that has a sort of haunting vibe about it... that spooky spine-chilling feeling you get at a funeral, or when someone tells a ghost story. Those kind of places give me goosebumps! They're just so creepy, and lonely!

It's like from the moment you enter the home you want to run right back out, jump in your car, and go home to your warm, happy place where you feel so protected, and loved.

I think sometimes people settle on a home out of desperation. They want a home so badly, after looking at so many, and having no luck, it's like they lose hope. So, they will just settle for any home at that point. But... is it the one? Is it your home? Is it the home you are going to want to stay in for a while?

Chances are if you don't feel good about it the first time you go through it, and still feel the same the second, or third time, you probably won't feel any better about it after you have bought it.

It's like meeting your soul mate. You just know when you have found the -one-. Your instincts may not always be accurate, but I think you feel it in your heart when you have found that -special someone-. When buying a house, you just know from the moment you walk in. You feel it in your heart, you have found that -special place-. A place you are going to want to live in for a while. Unless you have to move for some reason in the future.

Whether you have looked at a couple, or multiple homes... never ever settle! You will find it! It may take time, things are tough right now, but you will find your special comfy-cozy place! You just have to be patient... just like waiting for your handsome prince to come along.

Interesting how you can compare buying
home to falling in love isn't it?

Much like your wedding day, you can also get -cold feet-. I think most people get cold feet when buying home. Don't you think? Whether it's your first time, or gazillionth time. Sometimes you freak out, because you may think you made the wrong decision. Maybe, you judged wrong, maybe it's not the -one-.

It's probably just nerves. Maybe, it needs a lot of work, and your worried about the maintenance. If you were thrilled about the home the first time you walked through it, and still felt the same the second time, I think once you fix 'er up, you will finally be able to relax, and enjoy your new home.

One thing I think gives a home a certain quality such as comfort, or coziness, is the flooring, and how the walls are decorated. The paint color, or wallpaper, and the type of floors you have in your home can make all the difference in the world!

I tend to lean more towards hardwood floors that are kind of dark-ish. Sometimes I like a hardwood with an Amber glow to it. I like when I am able to walk barefoot on hardwood. Sometimes it can be very cold, other times it can feel really nice on your feet.

I also love plush carpet, and soft textured rugs. I pretty much love plush anything! I like soft, fluffy blankets, and pillows, as well as socks, and robes.

When it comes to colors for the walls, it really all depends. There are so many colors and patterns to choose from. It's kind of hard to just pick one out that I favor more. Plus, I pretty much like all colors. My eclectic taste may make it tough when it comes time for me to have to make this tough decision someday.

Here are some options you might like:

The white hardwood floors are breathtaking, and I think very versatile. They could be a cozy option with the proper coordinates, and colors. It also has the potential to be rather dull if the coordinating colors are too muted. It is beautiful though, and very bright on its own.

Tiles have become a popular choice of flooring. I think it started about two or three years ago. That seems to be when it first came into play, or when I took notice of it at least. Now because there are sites like Pinterest, Polyvore, and Wanelo it's flourished! More people are opting to go with tile flooring, and walls too. Subway tile is very trendy in homes right now!

I can see why it's caught on so well. It's very alluring! Some of these colors are so stunning! It's definitely a statement to consider. It can be cozy, glamorous, feminine, simplistic, dramatic... whatever you would like it to be! It really depends on the look you are going for. Any of the colors above would be ideal for a comfy-cozy aura! With the right decor you can make it work!

:Tip:
While many of these hues may be very tempting, you really have to choose wisely! I'm just going based on the swatches. I don't know what they look like realistically. Looks can be deceiving. So, make sure you are able to see what it will look like when it's all said and done!

If you are too timid to step out of your comfort zone, you can always go for a neutral tile color, and then play off of that, and whatever color, or style you use on your walls. However, if you are a risk taker, or are feeling the urge to take a chance, and want to go for something a little more bold, GO FOR IT! Hopefully, you will be happy with whatever decision you come to.

I looked for colors I thought were versatile, but I also wanted to give you some pretty, colorful, unique choices as well. I wanted to give options to those who want to go bold. Make sure you research, and try to find out for sure what it will look like when it is installed before you commit to it! You can probably change it, if it doesn't turn out the way you expect it to. However, if you can get an idea before, that would be better. It would save you a lot of time, and money.

So, now it's up to you to find the best coordinating colors, or patterns!

For a chic cozy look, try mixing floor tiles! Then you need to couple your color scheme with the perfect furniture, art, and decorative's!

For a homey-cozy vibe I favor darker, deeper tones like the Cotto- Ceramic Floor Tiling. They can be very cozy with the right ambiance! I also love the dark browns- strand woven walnut, or a dark cherry hardwood floor are so gorgeous! I like the dark browns and the greens mixed with a neutral tone like the Amarillo Beige- Del Norte Glazed Ceramic Tile, or even the Quarry Stone in Slate. Those colors together have a laid-back, rustic quality which I would want in a comfy-cozy home.

If you are eclectic like me you can easily combine styles. For instance... you could do a mix of cozy, and drama together, because no matter how homey your home might be, there is always going to be at least a little drama. Especially, if you have kids! The key to a cozy environment is to make it feel like home, but without the drama it's really not a home.

A while back... I told you about a feature I had done for our last and final print edition. Unfortunately, no one ever got to see it, because I decided not to release the issue for many, various reasons. The feature was one of our new columns called, Chic Details. I was really looking forward to debuting it. Needless to say, I was disappointed when it didn't work out.

Well, I really liked the column! I liked it so much that

I've decided to bring it back! This time it will officially debut!

I changed the concept a little, but that's okay, because it's never before been seen by the public. At least not the edited version. In addition, I am also doing Chic Details for the Home which will debut soon. It could happen at anytime during the week! I still have some editing to do to it, but it is almost ready!

So what exactly is Chic Details?

Chic Details is a fashion, eye-candy column. There will rarely be any words. It's more of a pictorial that features the latest trends. Sometimes pictures, and pretty fashion don't need words to describe how beautiful they are. The pictures speak for themselves. The only words you will see are the designers who make the fashion, and the stores from which they are sold, with links provided.

Here is what is coming up in

Despite my Ornathaphobia -fear of birds-, I have always been attracted to bird collectibles, jewelry, etc. They really are beautiful creatures. If they weren't so dang annoying, or so messy after they eat the berries off the tree, I wouldn't have a problem with them! This season, bird prints are everywhere! On blouses, Tees... even denim! Yep that's right! I've seen them on jeans! So, I did a little bird watching. Nooo, I did not look out my window with my binoculars! I mean I did a little bird trend watching, and I was pleasantly surprised to see so many! You will get to see all the pretty birdies shortly!

At least these birds won't mess up your car, porch,

or leave a mess on the side walk!

I confess... at first I really did not like this trend! I'm still warming up to it, but it has grown on me. I still have yet to accept the concept of -ombre- hair. I'm not so sure I ever will. However, I do fancy the pretty wearable's featured in this -Chic Details- article. If you are not thrilled about -ombre- as of yet... just wait! I think once you get a load of these... you might just fall!

Nooo! I am not expecting! There is no bun in the oven here! However, for some reason it is this time of year when I have babies on the brain a lot more. From February until about June or July, I think about it non-stop! Or so it seems.

Is it just me, or do there seem
to be more pregnant women in the spring and summer?

Those must be hot baby making months. Either that, or there is something in the water. It always seems like in Hollywood they all get preggers at the same time, and they give birth around the same time. That's what happened with my friends. One year, 2 of my besties both got pregnant at the same time. That was my 30th birthday, and neither of them could celebrate.

Anyway... the maternity stuff featured in Chic Details are adorable! If you are a mommy to be, and are looking for cute, and stylish maternity clothes, you will want to check these out! Some of them are petty pricey, but they will inspire you at least. So you will be prepared, and will know what to look for when you are out shopping for your mommy to be goods.

These homes are adorable, and they give me that cozy vibe I want in a home!

{As you may have noticed, I have a tiny obsession with yellow houses.}

{I'm not totally sure, but it appears to be stone, but it might brick, or my guess is it's both. Anyway, I love this kind of home. It looks like it would be comfy. I'd love to see the inside. It's such a cute little house!}

{This one just seems really homey. I love the driveway, and I am a sucker for brick houses.}

{Same home as above. I also love the porch. My grandparents had a really nice porch. We use to sit out there in the spring and summer, and we even had dinner out there a lot during the summer. I miss those days. But... I've always wanted to have a porch like theirs.}

{I love the Lattice windows! Those plus the brick is my idea of the perfect comfy-cozy home! I love this house so much, I want to move into it right now!}

Home Sweet Home...

is one of our many new columns. In this column you will get to read about all things Home and Garden related. Here is what you can expect to see in Home Sweet Home this week!

*A Quaint Little Place- My dream house since childhood has always been a gigantic mansion, and although it would be a dream come true to get to live in a nice sized home, I am totally okay with living in a small or medium sized home. It really doesn't matter what size it is, as long as it is a happy safe place, and I live there with the people I love -my future family- that's really what is important to me. In this article I will show you some quaint little places I would love to live in!

*Cute & Cozy- Love, family, happiness, security, all of those things are important when it comes to house hunting, and moving in when you finally find the -one-. However, for me it is also about comfort. I love a cozy house! I want it to be nice and warm in the winter, and cool, but comfy in the summer. Someday I plan to be a better cook, I hope to be as good as my mom, and grandma. I love the idea of cooking yummy delicious dishes for the family. Especially, comfort food! I always love when I walk into a home, and the aroma coming from the kitchen is so delightful, it smells so good it makes your tummy grumble. It always smelled heavenly when we went to my grandparents house for dinner. I miss that, but sometimes my mom will make something, and I'll smell that same aroma I use to love at grandma and grandpas. In my future home, I want it to be that way for us, and our guests. In this piece you will see some homes I think look super cute and cozy!

*Warm & Friendly- Another important quality for a home is a warm and friendly vibe. I've been to a few homes that have felt so lonely, and chilled. You can pretty much always tell when a home is not a happy home. You can just feel the tension, and it can be kind of awkward. When friends and family come to visit, I want them to walk into a warm, friendly place. A place where they can kick off their shoes, have a glass of whine, and some snacks, and just make themselves at home. When we have kids, I want their friends to feel like they are at home when they come over. I realize not all children live in warm, happy, friendly homes. I want them to have a place to come to where they can escape for a little bit. I also understand that children are often deprived of food, and I feel a lot of them aren't fed enough. I plan to keep my home stocked up so I can fill their little bellies. Some people may say sugar is bad for kids, but there are some kids who never get to have any kind of snacky food like cookies, or ice cream. I think it is okay for kids to have some junk once in a while. In moderation it won't hurt you! I will be sure to have some yummy snacks so I can get them all hopped up on sugar for a little bit. I don't mind when kids get a little sugar buzz every now and then. We adults get to have our grown-up beverages, and our wild and crazy fun. So, why can't they have some fun too? They are kids you know? We should let them be kids!

*Comfy Cozy- This one is all about being comfy, and cozy in your home.

*Too Clean vs Too Messy- I've been to both types of homes, and from the moment I walk in, I want to run back out, jump in the car, and leave! I really don't mind a little clutter, and it's not even about clutter, or neatness. I like a clean house, I like a spotless house, but I don't like a house that doesn't look or feel lived in. It's more like a museum. You're too afraid to touch something, because it might break. On the other hand, I am always disgusted by the filthy, dirty, disgusting houses I've been to. I can't even watch Hoarders, that's the same feeling I get when I am in a home like that. I'm totally fine with a little mess. Don't feel like putting your laundry away? No worries! It won't bother me at all! If you are a parent, I can totally understand if you can't get to it, or you just don't feel like putting it away after a wild and crazy day with the little ones.

*A Cozy Fireplace for My Comfy-Cozy Space- I'll be featuring lots of beautiful fireplaces in this series! Did you know the fireplace is usually the first thing people notice when they enter a home? People automatically look to see if there is a fireplace when they come in from the cold. It is a nice feature to have. I know someday I want to have a cozy fireplace in my comfy-cozy space!

Hello!
I know I have been MIA for a very long time! Since before Christmas I think. I apologize! I've actually been working on all the new content I will be bringing to you this week... starting today! I am really excited!

It took a lot longer than I had anticipated. I didn't realize there would be so much to do, but there was! There was a lot of editing involved. Plus, layouts, graphics, etc that stuff takes time. It's been a lot of fun though!

The not so fun stuff that's been happening to me lately are health issues. As you all may recall, a few months ago I told you all about my trip to urgent care -my first trip to urgent care-. I think I also told you all about my 2nd trip, and I ended up having to go to the ER that night, and they found a cyst on my ovary.

Well... a lot has happened since then!

I went back to the urgent care 2 days before Christmas Eve, because both feet and ankles swelled like balloons. I could barely walk! I was hobbling all over the place! Don't ask me how I did it, but I actually made myself some coffee with no spills or anything. I was hobbling all over the kitchen, and somehow managed to do it without making a mess. It was painful!

The next day I was still swollen, and my mom took me to urgent care. The doctor couldn't figure it out either, but she gave me a steroid. Not sure why she gave me that when I hadn't been diagnosed with anything. She was a youngin. Seemed like she was a rookie. It was like Doogie Houser's twin sister or something. I chose not to take it after reading the label. My instincts told me it would have been a bad idea. Any medication that says take with a meal, will likely make me sick. On Christmas day I woke up with the flu, and you aren't suppose to take it when you have any kind of infection like sinus, or bronchitis. So, it's a good thing I didn't take it! I don't need anymore trips to the urgent care or the ER! I think that was where I picked it up anyway!

A week before that I had gone to my new OBG whom I really, really like. She is wonderful! My first appointment went well, everything seemed to be okay. I hadn't heard from them, and I always figure no news is good news. Then I get a call from a nurse a few weeks ago or so. My pap came back abnormal so I had to have a Copoloscopy. It was not fun! Let me tell you!

I got my results last week... it turns out I have pre-cancerous cells, and they are the most aggressive kind. So, I have to have surgery sometime in the next few months. I was going to be having surgery anyway for my Endometriosis, but they will be doing that, and a LEEP. Not sure what a LEEP is? It's kind of hard to explain, but you can go here to learn all about it! Thank goodness for the Internet!

I'm still having swelling problems. I have to go to my family doctor Monday to make sure it's nothing to do with the heart before I have surgery. Hopefully, it's not that, or anything serious. It could just be water retention. It seems to occur around the time of my period, but I am currently swollen, and I'm not due for that yet.

It could also be from something I ate. Two days before my last visit to the urgent care, I had pizza, and that's when I started to swell. They just kept getting bigger, and bigger. The other day I had some Sour Cream & Onion Chips -my favorite chips!-, and I was fine. The next day I had about a handful if that of Frito's, and then boom! I swelled right up! I also have this problem when I eat lunch meat, especially turkey! And, hot dogs also swell me up.

When I swell, I have to stay away from anything salty. The problem with that is, almost everything contains salt. So, no matter what I eat, the swelling doesn't go away, it actually gets worse.

I have also been dealing with insomnia. I finally got some sleep last night, but I fell asleep in my office chair at about 11, and woke up this morning at 4 am. Not exactly what I had in mind, but at least I got some zzz's! And, I needed it! I've dozed in my chair a few other times. The reason for this is because I love to write. It relaxes me. I use to do a lot of handwriting, and it use to help me get to sleep. I don't hand write as often, because my hands get tired, and sore. I've been writing basically my whole life. In any event, typing relaxes me as much as writing by hand, and that's why I fell asleep. If I were to just lay down, I wouldn't fall asleep.

There is a lot more to this story, but it would take a whole book to tell you about it, and I want to get to all the fun stuff! The new content that I've been working on! It's the one thing that has kept me sane. When you hear the word cancer, or there is a possibility you might have it, it is very scary! It's the waiting that is the most nerve wracking. I needed to keep busy so I could keep my mind off of it. I love blogging! When you love what you are doing, it makes things a lot better... and easier.

Sooo...

Now that I have talked your ears off, I think it

is time to get to all the goodies!

Every new invitation means that you are faced with two new dilemmas. What am I going to wear? And, what am I going to bring? Don’t panic! We all love a great holiday party. What we do not love however, is the price tag that comes along with having to dress for them all. I always find this to be such a challenge, and quite frankly, it is a pain in the dairy air! I especially hate the stretchy sheet -whatever that thing is called-. I hate when I tuck it down at one corner of the bed, and the other corner comes un-tucked, and no matter how hard I try,
I just can't seem to keep them in place!

It's not so much that I hate the vacuuming part, I just do not like our vacuum, because it's really heavy, and it always hurts my back! It's not the worst, but it's also not the most fun either.

Dusting really stinks! The reason I dislike it so much is because of allergies. It has to be done though, in order to keep the dust bunnies, and allergies away!

In addition... I also am not a fan of cleaning my cat's liter either... it's so yucky! and I have mixed feelings about washing dishes. Sometimes it is relaxing, because of the steamy sudsy water, that's if you do it by hand. However, when it's after a messy, sauce based meal such as spaghetti... I don't care for that too much!

See this Christmas tree and fireplace?

Charming isn't it? Okay... maybe not so much right now! It's pretty boring at the moment. The Christmas tree is a font I found at dafont.com it's called Christmas Shapes.

Sooo......

as you will notice... there are no decorations! No bulbs! No ornaments, or garland! Not even a star, or an angel! I'm thinkin' it needs an angel at the top of the tree... what about you?

I thought maybe we could decorate it together!

Let's get it all decked out by Christmas morning if we can... I know it's a last minute idea, there isn't much time left, but if enough people participate every day, we can do it!

Soooo... what-a-ya say?

a) Find decorations that we can use on Pinterest or other networks, just make sure you check for copyright and all that stuff, and if credit needs to be given be sure to give me that information as well or just provide the resource links.

b) You can make your own decorations, and I will add them to the tree and will be sure to let the readers know you are the individual who designed them.

*Out of all the items sent, I will pick my 1 to 5 favorites, and I'll add them to the tree.

We're just 7 days away from celebrating

this magical holiday.........!

I'm sure everyone has all their presents wrapped and under their pretty trees by now.

But..........

is there something special, something you really, really want this year, that you are hoping Santa will bring?

It could be anything!

Maybe there is something you've had your eye on for a long time, but you can't afford to splurge on it. Or, it could be something that is needed for the home. A healthy, happy lifestyle for you, and your kids and loved ones. Or, maybe you would ask Santa to do something good for mankind such as feed the starving children in the world. Happiness for everyone in the world, especially all the little girls and boys!

If you were going to write Santa, what would you ask him for?

Dear Santa,

These past few months have been difficult due to Endometriosis. I've been the urgent care twice, and the second time I went, they sent me to the ER. Turns out I have a tiny cyst on my ovary, but for something so tiny, it sure is painful!

This pain, and sickness has really put a lot of stress not only on myself, but also my mom and dad. They are helping me out as much as they can, but it's going to take forever to pay off my medical bills!

What I really want this Christmas is to be healthy, happy, and free of pain and stress! I know that I have some bad habits that I need to break. I have set goals for myself, and am working on those habits. I'm taking baby steps, focusing on one at a time, so I don't get overwhelmed. It's not going to happen overnight though!

I know in order to have a happy, healthy, pain, and stress free life, I have to take better care of myself. That being said... this stress I've been under isn't helping at all! These are habits that are bad for me, but are comforting, and relaxing at the same time. Stress just makes it harder to walk away from those weaknesses.

I have a goal, I have lots of goals that I am determined to achieve. It is something I've wanted basically my whole life. I've worked so hard on it! I'm hoping this will be my lucky year!

I also just ventured into Avon, and being a newb... I'm still learning the ropes. I really want to be successful at it, and I know I will eventually, but in order to achieve these goals I need a healthier, happier lifestyle. In order to have that, I need strength and willpower! So... that is what I am asking for this Christmas!

I've been a very good girl this year, for the most part... I've had a few naughty moments, but nothing major!

Anyway, if you can come through for me on this, I would be very grateful!

Welcome to Skylar Magazine's special Holiday Edition 2012/2013!
I was going to create a separate blog for the issue, but that was not working out so well, and I was running out of time. I can't believe how fast this month has flown by! It really hadn't clicked until a couple days ago that time was running out! I still have shopping to do! So... I just decided to have it right here at Skylar's main blog.

Not all of the content will be Christmas related, but you can expect lots of it in the coming days and even after Christmas! For me Christmas doesn't end until after New Years. We still have plenty of time to celebrate and be festive!

I love Christmas! I always have, ever since I was a little girl. Even though I'm now a grown woman, I still think it is so magical. I still sometimes feel like the same little girl who use to wake everybody up at the crack of dawn to open the presents Santa left under the tree.

It's such a special time! It's a special time, because you get to spend more time with family. I love to watch my nephews open their gifts! They really have such a blast with it! I admit I still have a blast with it too.

Come on... admit it... you love the presents too!

As much as we love to receive gifts from our friends, and loved ones, it is also the season of giving to those who might not get a visit from Santa.

Unfortunately, there are children who don't get to have Christmas. It is sad that there are children in this world who don't know the meaning of Christmas, because they've never experienced it. It's sad that there are some kids who won't have presents under the tree to unwrap on Christmas morning. No child should ever have to miss out on that!

It is also unfortunate that not everyone can afford to donate money to charity. A lot of people are pinching the pennies. You want so much to be able to give as much as you can, and when you can't it makes you feel helpless! Even though you might not have a lot, or any money to give, there are things we can do for these sweet little angels.

We may not be able to feed, clothe, or give every starving child in the world gifts to unwrap this Christmas, or next, but we can make a difference in a childs life!

There are all kinds of charities out there you can give to. However, if that is not an option for you, maybe there is something you can do locally. It doesn't even have to be a stranger. You never know... someone whom you know personally could be going through a difficult time, and they might not be able to afford to have Christmas this year, because maybe mom or dad lost their jobs. Maybe if it is a child you know, who could be having a difficult time fitting in at school. They may need a friend.

You can also encourage your own kids to do something nice for a fellow student. They could invite them to hang out with them, or invite them to sit with them at lunch.

My brother, and his family just moved to a new city, and my nephews are going to be going to new schools. The youngest is having a difficult time with it, because he's going to miss his friends, and I think he's a little scared. If your child knows someone who is new to school, maybe they could make that child feel welcome, show them around, so they don't get lost. That is such a scary thing for a kid to go through. It helps when you've got someone there who can comfort you, and make it less awkward.

There are lots of things you can do. You just have to do some research, and see what you can do to get involved, and go from there.

Anywho...

Welcome to our special Holiday edition!

Merry Chirstmas!

Before I move onto the next article... I just want to express my condolences to those who were touched by the horror that struck Newtown, Connecticut this past Friday morning. There really are no words that would make a difference right now. All I can say is I'm heartbroken, and in utter shock! It is unimaginable the pain these parents are feeling. I wish I could be there to wrap my arms around every child or teacher that survived, and all of the parents and families who are grieving the loss of their babies, and their loved ones.

Now that we are starting to see the faces of these little angels, and the beautiful and very brave women who guided them every day, and did what they could to shield these children, now that we are starting to hear from the parents, I think it's becoming more real. This monster took these people away from their families! Twenty of them whose lives had only just begun. They are gone! There is nothing any of us can say, or do to bring them back!

The only thing we can really do is keep them all in our thoughts and prayers, and offer our support in anyway we can. You don't have to know someone personally in order to care, or be supportive. You don't ever even have to meet or talk to them in order to be there for them, and do what you can for them.

My heart goes out to all of those people! The victims, the children who survived the shooting, the moms and dads, the grandparents, aunts, and uncles, siblings, friends, teachers, the police who have been on this from day 1! I wish there was more I could say that could make the pain go away. Unfortunately, there are no words that have the power to do that.

I am already convinced, but if I wasn't, as soon that doctor put that sweet little miracle in my arms, I would instantly just know! How could you not? That would be enough to change my mind! I haven't been blessed with a beautiful little angel of my own yet. It's the one thing I want more than anything else in this world! To be frank... it does kind of tick me off when a mother is blessed with her bundle of joy, but doesn't see that she has been given a gift. She's been given the chance to be a mom! Yet, she still refuses to let God into her heart! That should be all the more reason for you to let him in! After all... he gave you this amazing treasure, that not everyone is given.

It would be easy for me to just give up on the whole concept of God or religion, but I choose not to! I will continue to believe, and I will keep on praying! I have yet to have this experience, and the older I become, the more I feel it's not going to happen. Still, no matter what the outcome is, I refuse to lose faith!

I could easily blame God for not giving me a child by now, but I know it is not his fault! I'm holding myself back by not getting myself out there enough. I'm not going to meet my prince if I don't get out there! While I know in my heart God does come through for people, and I believe he is responsible for a lot of the miracles that happen in the world, this is something he cannot do alone! It's a team effort! God can't just give someone a child, he needs a mom and a dad to officially make the baby!

I will either have to find the right man to fall in love with, or... I'm going to have to go to a sperm bank. Then again... there is always adoption! Not everyone gets that opportunity either though. Parents plans to adopt don't always work out, but when it does work out, it is a blessing!

Have you decorated yet? Got your tree, and lights up?

We put our village out, but we are looking for a new tree at the moment. The one we got last year is really cheesy... looks like something out of the Grinch. Let's just say the trees in the graphic above are much lovelier!

Anyway...

I am having a little contest... the prize is ad space!

All you have to do is take pictures of your lovely decor, and send them to me via skylarmagazine.sarah@gmail.com, along with your name, the name of your blog, or business, and a link to either.

I will pick up to 10 finalists... it will depend on how many people participate. Those 10 finalists will have their decor pictures featured in a spotlight, and the readers will get to vote for their favorites. Then... it will be narrowed down to 5 finalists, and then there will be a final vote. I'll be picking 3 winners- 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, based on who gets the most votes.

From the moment I wake up in the morning, until I hit the hay I've got a gazillion things going on inside my head, and it's so easy to get lost in it all. While, it keeps me inspired throughout the day, it also messes with my memory. I tend to forget a lot of what needs to be done each day, because my brain is always so jam packed with words, ideas, and all of the political stuff I watch on a daily basis. Sometimes I just need to step back, and re-eccess the situation. I love to multi-task, but I think I have to cut back on some of those tasks, and only work on a few at a time rather than ten different things. So, that is exactly what I intend to do from this evening foward. Hopefully, that will make life so much easier! I'm so glad the light bulb is on and that it's stayed on for so long. Writers block or in my case bloggers block has kept it's distance though I did feel it's presence briefly about a month ago... luckily I was able to block it. Still, sometimes that light bulb can be so bright it gets to be a little overwhelming. I definitely do not want it to go off completely, but it could be just a tad bit dimmer.

I was really hoping I would have almost all of my Christmas shopping complete by now... PCHHH!

I haven't even started! I'll be doing most of it on Etsy this year, to show my support to small businesses, and budding entrepreneurs. I love that place! They have the neatest stuff! And, it just feels good to help the shops out!

Anyway...

I really gotta get going on it! I don't want to wait until the last minute like I always do! I did great last year! Let's hope this year will be a repeat!

It's time to get your drink on... it's 5 'oclock somewhere!

And, what cocktail do I have for you today?

This was my birthday drink back in July,

and it was DE-LISH! I can't believe I had never had it before! It was so good, you could almost put that stuff on pancakes! Probably not the pancakes you make for the kids. You could also put it on a sundae... I am going to have to try those out one of these days! When I do, I'll be sure to let you know how it turns out!

I definitely don't need too many of these. Just because you can't taste the alcohol, doesn't mean it isn't there! It's the kind of cocktail that hits you when you least expect it! If you keep it to a minimal, and know your limits, it can be a very enjoyable cocktail!

I don't have any problems with gluten, but I know there are people who can't have foods that contain it, and I always try to keep all of my readers in mind.

All of these look delicious! I had the link to the source of picture 2, but I lost it unfortunately. If you know where I can find it, please let me know. Honestly, I've never tried fruit on my pancakes so I'm not sure if I would like it or not, but it's always good to explore new things.
