10. Nike Air Max Lebron VII
People get confused, and frankly I’m confused as to what exactly is “LeBron’s” shoe.

Never the less—This is the “Air Max” LeBron VII, and regardless of whether of not the King will be wearing these, many others will be.
They have a solid look, good lines and are super light. If you are in the market for a new pair of kicks I would recommend placing these on your list.

9. Nike Hypermax

What will they think of next? Another brilliant shoe that is a spin off of the 2k4 Air Huarache, with functionality and style rolled into one.
I like how Nike went back to the Air Bubble sole. It runs the whole length of the shoe and provides maximum comfort.
Some people are not a fan of the ankle strap, and I happen to think those people are crazy. It provides a locked in feel as well as gives an ankle some support—especially for the defensive end.

8. Kobe IV

I know these have been out for a year but Kobe actually won his 4th ring in these. Nike has recently released a whole new set of Kobe IV’s that have all new color combinations.
These new flavors are sick!
Not only are these championship caliber kicks, but they are one of the lightest and most comfy shoes out there.
Speaking from experience, these low tops are some great shoes to hoop in. Now with the new colors out, you can have a pair for the court, and a pair for club.
Trust me—go get a pair.

7. Adidas TS Commander LT

The name of this shoe sounds like the model of a truck, not the new signature shoe from NBA Finals runner-up Dwight Howard.
Although some may argue Howard is as big and strong as a truck, this guy won’t argue the fact that Adidas has put some nice wheels on their Magic big rig.
I’m always a pessimist when Adidas comes out with a shoe for the court but I think they did a solid job. I wouldn’t recommend this shoe for guards, but big men will appreciate the simple style, padding and the clean colors.

6. Nike Shox Vision TB

The team shoe for the one with hops. Some people believe this shoe to be “gimmicky” but after playing in a pair, I am a believer—Not that they spring you skyward like VC back in the day, but they perform great as a basketball shoe.
The one factor that really helps this shoe climb the list is the crazy color combinations the Shox Vision TB is offered in.

5. Jordan 60 Plus

Just in case you don’t know what you’re looking at, allow me to explain.
Team Jordan went and took the 4 shoes that MJ wore each time he scored more than 60 in a game and combined them into, the Jordan 60 plus.
The shoe came out looking amazing and it’s a Jordan, so it of course performs unbelievably well on the court and is a fashion statement off the court.
When’s the last time you dropped 60?

What? Lil’ Penny in the house!
I should maybe tone down my excitement for the re-release of this shoe, but seriously if you didn’t get these the first time around, count your lucky stars because they are back.

The Nike Air Penny II, and it’s available in some crazy new colors, like the black, white and red you see here. This shoe really brings back memories, not to mention, it looks great, feels great and is one of the greatest of all time.

I have heard rumors from folks that say this is the best basketball shoe ever constructed in terms of on court use.
I can’t say that they are too far off. The Hypersize is comfy, and has the look of a basketball shoe. The color combinations for these are unreal.
Keep a look out for most college players to be rocking these as well as several of the guys in league. Chances are, if you are in the League and don’t have your own shoe contract, you will hoop in these.

2. New Kobe V

These have not been released yet, but when they do, you are going to want to pick a pair up.
They have kept the low cut from the success of the Kobe IV, and added a couple texture tweaks and a few line changes.
If this performs as well as the Kobe IV I’ll be blown away, if it performs better, (like it is expected to) I might die and go to heaven.

Here comith the King.
These new kicks are ill. I’m going to be honest and say that I have not been a huge fan of Bron Bron’s kicks thus far. However, these shoes have won me over.
The design is simple, yet has enough details to make any shoe aficionado want to take a closer look.
Word on the street is this will be the lightest shoe LeBron has put out yet. If it is good enough for the King, it should be good enough for the rest of us.

Siriano’s Spring 2010 Heel Design

Last spring’s hot design for high heels was Chanel’s gun heel which was worn by Madonna to a movie premiere in 2008. At a price tag of over $2000 a pair, many people went looking for a look-a-like.

This spring is to see the release of Alexander McQueen’s ‘lobster claw’ heel. I’m sure most everyone has seen them and heard the stories about models refusing to wear them on the catwalk. There is mixed reaction from the public, ranging from they are to die for down to they are completely hideous.
Like normal there is expected to be a release of what one may call a look-a-like, or possibly an improvement on the original idea.

Christian Siriano, season 4 winner of ‘Project Runway’, who interned with McQeen, is said to be launching three styles this spring, exclusive to Payless, which have a McQueen-esque style. These wild, watercolor-and-sequin embellished platforms from the runway are supposed to hit stores in mid-March, retailing for $79.99 a pair.

In December 2008, Siriano signed a deal to desing a line of low-cost shoes and handbags for Payless. In the fall of 2009 his designs were available for purchase. There are currently 10 shoes styles and one handbag style available at Payless, with a price tag as low as $29.99.

Make your high heeled shoes last longer by giving them some simple care and attention. Extending the life of your shoes isn't difficult, as long as you treat them well, and attend to problems including wear and tear, before they escalate and your high heels become worn and weathered.

Shoes with high heels need just as much, if not more care than ordinary, flat shoes. The heel of the shoe will be delicate, due to being thin, and is liable to break if treated badly. Also the toe end of the sole, will wear out faster than the rest of the sole, because high heels on shoes shift the weight of the wearer to the front, making this area vulnerable.

You can begin making high heeled shoes last longer as soon as you purchase them, before you even get home from the shoe shop. When you take your chosen high heeled shoes to the desk to pay, ask the assistant if she or he can provide you with polish, and a heel pen in the correct color to match your shoes.

The high heels of shoes easily become scratched and scuffed, which makes them unsightly. With your correction pen and polish to hand you can quickly disguise any damage when needed. Good tennis shoes do several things apart from covering your feet, and tennis is a sport, that is very hard on shoes, and feet, so you need to find a shoe that will last, and one that is not too heavy, bearing in mind some factors.
Tennis shoes must be able to support your feet with all the stops and starts you have to make, and it must give you good support at the sides of your feet. Each surface has differing requirements, and all of us have different types of feet, all of which places different demands on your tennis shoes.

The first consideration is what type of feet you have, because that will determine how much cushioning you will need, and what and where you will need lateral support.
There are three basic foot types:
1. SUPINATED - here your wear is on the outside of the shoes
2. PRONATED - here your wear is on the inside around the ball of the foot, and this type of foot suffers the most with injuries from overuse.
3. IDEAL - here the wear is even.

Either get a fellow player to walk behind you to determine whether you are walking with your foot tilting inwards, or outwards, or not at all. Better still find yourself a well-qualified sports shoe person. You could also test yourself by wetting your feet and standing on a square of cardboard.

1. If there is a large are where the arch of your feet didn't touch you are SUPINATED
2. If the whole of your foot is marked, looking like a rectangle with slight curves then you are OVERPRONATED
3. If your feet leaves an imprint that is a balance between the others then your foot is IDEAL
Confirm this self-diagnosis with a third party watching you walk, and the wear test on your current shoes.
THE FIT OF THE TENNIS SHOE is vital, and points to pay particular attention to are as follows.
1. You need about half an inch of space between your longest toe and the end of the tennis shoe.
2. The foot should be a comfortable fit without any stretching
3. The heel should not slip, although some movement is wanted.
Just remember your feet are different sizes, so pick your size according to the larger foot, and use an insole to balance up your smaller foot.
The most important thing in a tennis shoe is LATERAL SUPPORT because much of your running on a court is side to side, and there are dangers of turning your ankle. Good lateral support is necessary if you are heavy and if you are pronated.
Your tennis shoes will need a degree of CUSHIONING and SHOCK ABSORPTION.

This is especially true if you are a baseliner, and you play most of your tennis on hard courts. Pronated feet jar most easily.
The two most common cushioning you read about are EVA, which is lightweight, but not very durable, or stable, and PU[polyurethane] which is denser, better stability, but it is a lot heavier.
FLEXIBILITY is important, and tennis shoes must bend easily at the ball of the foot, however too much flexibility makes for a shoe that won't be comfortable.
At the end of the day, comfort is important, and tennis shoes are no different to anything else, you tend to get what you pay for, and I know very few things of quality that are cheap!!

How to Choose Cross Trainer Shoes

Cross trainer shoes are designed to be the multi-tool of the athletic-shoe world. Built to give strong lateral support, cross trainers excel in multidirectional sports, such as kickboxing, tennis and weight lifting and serve adequately for the occasional run or hike. However, as the do-all shoe, it's vital that you choose a pair that is well made, fits properly and is comfortable.

Step 1 Look it over. Cross trainers should have a wide outsole to aid in lateral stability. Also, look for a heel that's slightly undercut (found in walking shoes), which allows for a more natural walking motion than a flared, flat sole (found in running shoes). For additional stability, a moderate amount of dense padding is desirable in the heel and forefoot.

Step 2 Push on it. Pick up the shoe and push the toe toward the heel. If the sole flexes in the arch, don't buy it. You want flexion in the upper third of the sole. However, make sure it is not to stiff in the forefoot. Walk around for a couple minutes and pay attention to how the sole feels. It should not feel like a board.

Step 3 Twist it. Grasp the shoe in both hands with one hand around the heel and the other around the toe. Firmly twist the shoe back and forth. The shoe should not twist through the arch.

Step 4 Squeeze it. Using both your thumbs, compress the side walls of the heel. If the heel walls firmly resist collapsing, it's good.

Step 5 Is there adequate toe space? Always try on your shoes later in the day, preferably after a workout because that's when your feet will be most swollen. Lace up the shoe, and stand on it. You should have an index finger's width of space (1/2 inch) between your big toe and the end of the shoe. Wiggling your toes, you should feel no cramping or restriction.

Step 6 Does the heel slip? You want a firm grip on your heel with no slippage. Check for heel slippage by walking around for several minutes, preferably up and down a stair and sloped surface.

Step 7 Is there discomfort in the forefoot? The shoe should feel snug over the forefoot, but not cause discomfort.

Tips & Warnings

Choose the Right Walking Shoes

People are always asking for shoe recommendations. I don't like to make specific shoe recommendations because everyone's foot is different and people have different walking styles. But there are a few basics for selecting walking shoes:

1) Look for a low, supportive heel that rounds (or bevels) in. A thick heel or one that flairs out will cause your foot to slap down rather than roll. This slows down forward momentum and increases the occurrence of sore shins.

2) A walker's foot hits heel first and then rolls gradually from heel-to-toe. So, you will need a flexible sole and more bend in the toe than a runner. You should be able to twist and bend the toe area.

3) Next, look for a shoe that is light weight and breathable. The last thing you want is the clunky heavy leather walking shoe.

4) The most important thing of course is a shoe that fits properly. Be sure your foot has enough room in the toe box. There should be a thumbnails width (or about a half inch) between your toes and the end of the shoe. The shoe should be wide enough in the toe that your toes can move freely. Your heel should not slip, and the shoe should not pinch or bind, especially across the arch or ball of your foot.

5) Go shoe shopping at the end of the day or after your walk when your feet may be slightly swollen. Also be sure to wear the same socks you will be wearing during your walks. This can make a huge difference in how the shoe fits. Try on both shoes. Your feet may not be the same size (really!).

6) Do not shop when you are in a hurry. Be sure to walk around the store for a few minutes on a hard surface. If the store has an objection to this, find another store. It is worth the effort to find the right shoe for you and it is worth spending a few extra dollars.

7) Wear your shoes in the house for a few days to try them out. Don't venture outdoors until you are sure the shoes are going to work for you. (If the shoes are not going to work out you will want to exchange them before scuffing them up outside.)

8) Keep track of how many miles you have put on your shoes, and replace them every 300 to 600 miles. (If you are wearing very light weight shoes, are overweight, or you are hard on your shoes stay toward the low end on mileage.) To extend the life of your shoes be sure to only wear them only for your walks. Also rotating two pair of shoes will give them time to "bounce back" between walks.

Keep these items in mind when purchasing your next walking shoes. Your feet and legs will thank you for it.

When buying sneakers, it can be overwhelming because there are so many different kinds to choose from.
At your favorite athletic store, you'll find sneakers for:
Walking: These sneakers have a good amount of cushioning and are great for people who power walk, or who walk to get to work. They are lightweight and offer excellent arch support.
Running: These are lighter than other sneakers, and provide more cushion and support for you since you'll be pounding on them pretty hard with each step you take. They also offer shock absorbers, so it puts less pressure on your joints. You can find ones that are higher in the ankles to offer even more stability. You can walk, jog, run, or do aerobics in these.

Cross-training: These offer a good amount of support for low-impact exercise. You can lift weights, walk, and take a cardio class with these, but I wouldn't buy them if you're planning on doing a lot of running.
Casual: These are usually adorable, colorful, and stylish, but unfortunately not very supportive. Wear these to do some shopping, for a casual walk in the park, for lifting weights, or just to hang out in. These won't offer much support for high-impact exercise.
Basketball Shoes: These have special soles that won't mark up the court floor.
Tennis Shoes: While you could wear running sneaks or cross-trainers, tennis shoes provide more support for the contact side-to-side movements required to play racket-based sports.

Fit's Tips: Different brands of sneakers are suited for different feet. Whether you have high or low arches, narrow or wide feet, you MUST try out the sneaker before you buy it. Most stores have treadmills you can use so if you're buying running sneakers, you've got to RUN in them. I always run 1/4 mile in a sneaker to make sure it's not rubbing too high on my ankle, or squishing my toes.

5 Tips to Protect Your Feet When Wearing High Heels

We know you love your high heels, so we won't even hint at the fact that you'd be better off in sneakers. At the same time, what good is that great pair of red patent-leather stilettos if all you can do is sit and admire them?

1. Get the best-fitting high heel possible. While this may seem like a given, stop and think: How many pairs of high heels cause your feet to slide to the front, leaving a gap big enough for a small cell phone behind your heel? Mogul says high heels that don't fit properly cause the front of the foot to fly forward, creating more pressure -- and pain -- on toes. Look for narrow heels with a snug but not tight fit to correct the problem.

2. Cushion, cushion, cushion. While a full-shoe insert can help, if you have pain in the ball of the foot -- or you'll be standing in your heels a long time -- invest in silicone metatarsal pads. They look like flattened gummy bears, but they do a super job of shock absorption, says Morin. "It's like replacing the fat padding you lost."

3. Wear a thicker heel for stability. "A thicker heel will give you better balance and may help relieve some pressure by distributing the weight on your foot more evenly, says Morin. Alternating heel heights can also help reduce problems with the Achilles tendon.

4. Pay attention to the "slope" or "pitch" of the heel. While some 4-inch heels will give you a straight drop down to the flatbed portion of the shoe, others will be a more gradual slope. This may be easier on the arch, says Morin, and might help relieve some pain in the ball of the foot.

Soccer shoes that fit properly help to improve your performance and help you to avoid injuries. Soccer shoes that are worn out or designed for the wrong type of field can lead to poor performance and possible injury.
How do you select the right shoe?
Soccer shoes come in a variety of styles and cleat patterns. Each cleat pattern is designed to perform under certain field conditions. Cleats can be screw-ins or the indoor type and they can be molded or have blades. The screw-ins can accomodate as many as 12 studded cleats or as few as 6. The indoor cleat generally has a multicleat surface or an overall tennis shoe look. The cleats are also divided into soft ground (SG) and hard ground (HG) styles (Fig. 1). There is a design for particularly muddy fields, and there are also a few styles that are made specifically for women.

What shoe should you buy?
It would be great if you could have several pairs of soccer shoes and wear them based on the condition of the field that day. Unfortunately, most people cannot afford to buy more than one pair of soccer shoes at a time. If you had to choose one shoe to buy as an overall, multipurpose shoe, what would it be? It should be a molded or bladed 12-cleat shoe. This cleat has been shown to be the most versatile shoe for all field conditions. You want good traction to reach a high level of performance and to also help you avoid the injuries caused by slipping, sliding, and abrupt stops.
How to fit a pair of soccer shoes
Several things should be considered when purchasing a new pair of soccer shoes.

When trying on your new shoes, always wear the same socks and shin guards that you will be playing in.
Remember that sizing is always different from other shoes. You must try on each shoe to be sure it fits.
If you wear an ankle brace for injury prevention or protection, you must have it on when trying on the new shoes.
Take your shin guards with you to be sure they will fit with your new shoes. Shin guards are required equipment and they come in a variety of styles.

Slip-Ins simply slide into the socks. All soccer socks have to be high enough to totally cover the shin guard. This style should not interfere with shoe selection at all.

Slip-In Moldable shin guards offer the ease of application of the regular slip in, but they are moldable to the individual. They offer more comfort and protection because of the close fit. There should be no problem with shoe selection with this style.

Ankle Protection shin guards have a padded feature that extend from the bottom of the shin guard to the bottom of the heel (Fig. 2). This padding covers the ankle bones and offers increased protection from kicks from other players. This style is especially recommended for players who are just learning to play soccer.

Shop for shoes in the afternoon when your feet are naturally swollen from walking and standing all day. Have the size of both feet measured. It is best to stand when measuring your shoe size. You will need assistance to do this properly. Do not assume that your feet are the same exact size. If there is a size difference, choose the larger size.

Lace the shoes as tightly as you will when you are playing. Walk around the store in them for several minutes. You should be able to wiggle your toes freely while sitting or standing and you should not feel any inner seams, which could cause blisters. For children especially, make sure there is a one-finger distance between the toes and the end of the shoe.

Taking care of your new shoes
Soccer shoes will last for about one year, which can include a fall and spring season. Remember that cleats are designed to be worn on soft surfaces. Concrete is the biggest enemy to soccer cleats. The concrete acts like sandpaper. It slowly, but surely, wears away the surface and reduces the size of the cleat faster than the shoe is actually wearing out. All soccer players should have a pair of tennis shoes or slides (shower shoes, "flip flops," etc) in their bag for walking across the parking lot or down the sidewalk. Wear other shoes until you reach the grassy field, then change into the soccer cleats. Change out of your cleats when the game is over. The less time the soccer cleat is on concrete, the longer it will last.
Soccer shoes should be treated like regular shoes. A little care will extend the life of the shoe dramatically. Here are a few more tips to help you care for your soccer shoes:

Carry a whiskbroom or stiff brush to clean the outside of the shoe after playing.
Wash the outside of the shoe with warm, soapy water because chemicals used on the field can breakdown the shoe material.
When you take them off, stuff the shoes with crumpled newspaper to absorb moisture from the inside of the shoe and to maintain normal shoe size.

The price of the shoe will not make it last longer. The care you provide will.

We must have experienced discomfort with our shoes while running. It is because we have the wrong shoes appropriate for us to use when running. The following guidelines you can use to choose running shoes:

1. Dip a bare foot into water and step on a piece of paper placed on a hard surface.

2. Trace the outline of your foot with a pen.

3. Look at the imprint left by the arch of your foot. If you have flat feet, you're probably an over-pronater. A medium arch indicates neutral pronation, and a high arch says supination (under-pronation).

4. Go to a specialty running or sports store late in the day or after a run.

5. Wear the socks you normally wear when you run, and bring in your old running shoes if possible. A good running-shoe salesperson can tell a lot by the wear of your old shoes, including pronation.

6. Get both feet measured by a salesperson. Choose shoes that fit the larger foot.
7. Talk to the salesperson about the terrain you run on, the mileage you cover, and your pronation.

8. Try on the shoes.
9. Stand up. Press your thumb into the top of the shoe, just above your longest toe. Your thumb should fit between the end of your toe and the end of the shoe.
10. Wiggle your toes. If you can't wiggle with ease, the toe box is too small.
11. Feel the arch bump of the shoe. It should hit slightly toward the rear of your arch.

12. Make sure your heel fits snugly and does not slide up and down as you walk or run.
13. Go for a test jog or walk around the store.
