What is the book about:

A single mom, and former ballerina meets a handsome and baby whisperer ex-jock. They were neighbors but didn't really "meet" until Carys-not-Paris decided that the noise from the other side of the room has to stop. It wasn't helping her sleep let alone feeling alone in her bed, while the other side of the thin walls is obviously having fun until the wee hours of the morning (talk about stamina). He was gracious with what she told him, and that started a friendship.

Pacing:

What I like about this novel is it didn't dive right into the relationship thing. There was attraction brewing, but, they stayed on the friendzone for a while and got to know each other. They respected the boundaries that were set, chemistry was palpable, but didn't feel awkward until both of them did something. (LOL)

Characters:

How can you not love both?

Carys is a pretty strong woman to raise a child on her own without the help of the sperm donor. She was a great ballerina dancer, but all went to the drain when she had an accident. Nevertheless, it didn't deter her with life. Sure, it was sad, but she managed. Life throws her lemons, and she made good lemonade out of it. It's great that she always put Sunny as her priority and not herself.

As for Deacon, he's just a swoony guy. Sure, he's handsome and all that - and may have his issues, but it was nice that he was trying to get pass through it gradually with the help of Carys and later his family. I love the fact that he takes care of Sunny as if his own and he tries even though its hard. (Yes, taking care of a baby is hard, especially when it's not yours. Raise your hand if you can relate!!!)

Overall:

I love the two characters, and the fact that they chose to be friends first rather than crossing the line.
I love how they finally got together.
I love that little fact she inserted about Sunny, just to subtly remind readers.True, she might have that little extra on her, but doesn't make her any different. (Yay for that).

Readers would surely love this new book from Penelope Ward - it's light, fun and sexy and would give you thoughts to ponder upon.

Today, just as I got back to my door, Deacon was exiting his apartment.

“Oh, hey, Carys-Like-Paris. How goes it?” He flashed a wide smile.

When people ask me my name, for some stupid reason, I sometimes answer, “Carys, like Paris,” particularly when I’m nervous. That was the case the first time I met Deacon.

A whiff of his amazing smell put my body on alert. He looked handsome as always. Today he wore a camel-colored suede coat with a shearling collar. His blue eyes, which stood out against his tanned skin, glimmered under the fluorescent lights overhead, which also brought out the copper tint to his otherwise medium-brown hair. He was at least six-foot-two—a beanstalk to my five-foot-four self.

This was my opportunity to bring up last night. But now that he was right here, towering over me, his musky smell saturating the air, I seemed to have lost the words. Still, I was determined to speak up now or never.

My heartbeat accelerated. Here goes. Still out of breath from my sprint up the stairs, I said, “Well, honestly, in answer to your question… I’d love to say I’m doing great, but I had a hard time getting to sleep last night. So, I’ve been better.”

He frowned. “I’m sorry to hear that.”

“Actually, it’s sort of your fault.”

Deacon’s forehead crinkled. “My fault?”

“Yeah. I don’t know if you realize this, but your bed is right up against mine, on the opposite side of the wall. Your…interactions…last night woke me up, and I had a hard time getting back to sleep.”

Boom.
There.
Said it.

Deacon closed his eyes momentarily. “Shit. I’m sorry. I didn’t know you were right behind me.”

“Yeah. It’s basically like I’m…right there.”

“Well, that was rude of me. I should’ve invited you to join.”

What? It felt like all my blood rushed to my head.

He held out his palms. “I’m kidding. Bad sense of humor comes out when I feel awkward, I guess.”

Slipping a piece of my hair behind my ear, I brushed off his comment. “I know you’re kidding.”

“Totally kidding.” He smiled. “But I’ll try to be more considerate now that I know you can hear everything. You should’ve said something.”

I tilted my head. “How exactly would that have worked? Barging in on two naked people? That’s why I’m saying something now.”

“Solid point. But I take it last night wasn’t the first time you overheard things?”
I looked down at my feet. “No, it wasn’t.”

“You could’ve banged on the wall or something.”

“I’m not one to rudely interrupt someone’s…personal happenings. I just wanted you to be aware of the situation. We don’t need to discuss it further.”

“Maybe we should come up with a code.”

“What do you mean?”

“Like, If I’m disturbing your peace, you play a song and crank it up to send me a message.” He snapped his fingers. “Something ironic like ‘The Sounds of Silence’ by Simon and Garfunkel.”

“Can’t exactly crank up a song when a baby is sleeping.”

His smile faded. “See? That goes to show you how clueless I am. Clueless and so sorry, Carys. Truly. I’ll try not to let it happen again.”

“It better not, fuckboy!” a voice shouted from behind one of the apartment doors.

Deacon and I turned around in unison. I noticed Mrs. Winsbanger’s door move across the hall. The old lady must have been listening in. She lived alone, and I often spotted her peeking out her door, spying on people.

Deacon grimaced. “Mrs. Winsbanger loves me.”

“Apparently I’m not the only one who overheard things last night,” I said.
His face turned red. His embarrassment was a bit surprising. I’d expected him to be more cocky.

“I’ll move my bed to the other side of the room. That should help.”

“Well, that would be nice, if it’s not too much trouble.”

“It’s not.”

Happy to have the conversation over with, I let out a long breath. “Okay, well, I’ll let you get going.”

He didn’t budge and seemed to be examining my face. “You okay?”

“Yeah. Why?”

“You seem frazzled.”

Well, yeah. I didn’t get good sleep, I’m trying to get things done in possibly the only hour of the day I have free, and we just had the most awkward conversation EVER.

“This is just me—my life. I have what could be barely more than an hour to eat my lunch and have some quiet time before my daughter wakes up from her nap.”

“Ah.” He scratched his chin. “How old is she now?”

“Six months.”

Deacon knew I was a single mom. He’d run into me one day and helped me bring groceries in while I tried to juggle Sunny and her stroller.

I was just about to head back inside my apartment when his voice stopped me.

“Do you need anything?”

I wasn’t entirely sure what he meant. “Like what?”

“Something from the store? A…coffee, maybe? I’m just headed out to run a quick errand, but I can stop somewhere on the way back.”

“It’s the least you can do, monkey balls!” Mrs. Winsbanger chimed in from across the hall.

She was apparently still listening.

“Did she just fucking call me monkey balls?” he whispered.

At that moment, I lost it. Laughter got a hold of me, and it took almost a minute before I could even speak. Deacon laughed, too, but I think he was more cracking up at my reaction.

“No idea why she just called you monkey balls. But I haven’t laughed this hard in weeks.”

After I finally calmed down, Deacon repeated his earlier question.

“Anyway, as I was saying, can I get you a coffee or something?”

His offer gave me pause. It was rare that anyone asked if I needed anything. I had a couple of good friends in the city, but they worked and had busy social lives. It wasn’t like they were around in the middle of the day to run to the store for me. And given that it was fall in New York, it was getting chilly out. I had to have a damn good reason to take Sunny out in the cold.
Honestly, I was dying for a latte from Starbucks. Running to the coffee shop was definitely something people without babies took for granted. It wasn’t worth having to bundle Sunny up.

“I would love a vanilla latte from Starbucks, if you pass one on your way back,” I finally said.

“Done.” He smiled. “That’s it?”

“Just one pump of vanilla would be great.”

“One pump. Got it. Anything else?”

“Isn’t that enough? It’s hardly a necessity. I shouldn’t be taking advantage.”

“Take advantage of me. What else do you need? Seriously. It’s the least I can do after disturbing your peace last night.”

Take advantage of me. Yup. Mind straight in the gutter. “You’re not my gopher.”

“Carys….” His baritone voice turned serious, and he repeated in a slow and exaggerated manner, “What. Do. You. Need? I could run to the store.”

There was something else I desperately needed.

“Diapers?” I said hesitantly.

“Okay.” He laughed. “You’re gonna have to help me out with those. I’ve never purchased them in my life.”

Before I could tell him what size, he handed me his phone. I was all too aware of the brief touch of his hand.

“Enter your digits. I’ll text you from the store to make sure I get the right kind.”

I did as he said before handing him back the phone, once again enjoying the contact from that brief exchange. Cheap thrills were as good as it got these days.

He put it in his pocket. “Anything else?”

“Not that I can think of.”

“Alright. Well, if you change your mind, you can let me know when I text.”

“Thank you. I really appreciate it.”

“Talk to ya in a bit,” he said before heading down the hall.

I stood by my door and watched him walk away. The view from the back was just as good as the front. And moreover, it seemed Deacon was just as lovely on the inside as he was on the outside.

“One pump my ass,” I heard Mrs. Winsbanger say before she slammed her door.

Those piercing eyes in the cover really had me one clicking this book, plus of course the author's name. Ilsa Madden-Mill doesn't disappoint, especially with her new release.

CHARACTERS: 💓💓💓💓💓

I love both characters, even the secondary ones. They all have their quirks. Elena is sweet and nice. She loves her family the most, even with some circumstances. She has her own secret too. I like characters who are relatable and not overly dreamy when I read about them, that was was she was from the first. She was simple, but there was just something in her that caught Jack's eye. She's genuine, and kind.

Jack, oh my god, Jack, he's a man full of surprises. He did have a dark past. Yes, he's not perfect and he had hurt our girl several times with all the walls surrounding him, but he just redeemed himself. The things he can do, and can't. He's just pretty much easy to fall in love with him.

Secondary characters both family and friends are great as well, aome you will love immediately, some you will love eventually, and some, well you just hope you haven't really read about them. I can't wait to read their stories and own HEA.

PACING: 💓💓💓💓💓

The pacing is excellent, even from the start. It didn't feel draggy at all. The rollercoaster ride that Ilsa Madden-Mills has let us experience was worth the ride.

I am so in love with this book, finished in one sitting and just bawl my eyes out in the wee hours of the morning. Not My Romeo gave me all the feels - you'd laugh, fall in love, and cry. It's hot at the same time it keeps your heart warm.

"My nana used to say that broken people love the hardest because they appreciate the things that make their heart beat. Do I make your heart beat?"

This is my first book review in over a year. Wow. Never realized that.

I have been always picky when it comes to fantasy, magic, dystopian kinda books. But this one just rocked my world entirely. The Kingdom would fascinate you at one point and would creep you out in the next - maybe because I feel that this might happen in the future, and consequences would be similar. So, there ya go, a bit creepy really.

Nevertheless, Jess Rothenberg carefully constructed a world that can make your dreams come true. Yes, better than Disney, and less scary than Jurassic World. We meet creatures that we haven't seen before maybe because they are extinct, or they are hybrid of the creatures that we have now. But what makes this story more interesting are the Fantasists.

Fantasist are similar to humans. They look like one, and they would interact like one. The only difference is that, they are not really humans - they are programmed for that sort of thing. To create an illusion of perfection, to make dreams come true, not to lie, to make mistakes, to make people happy and safe inside the kingdom. They weren't programmed to feel - most especially to fall in love.

However, like humans who made them, Fantasist are not perfect.

We are introduced to Ana - one of the older fantasist. She's a great character, sometimes I'd forget she's not even human. Initially, she just obey and do what she is directed to do, until she met Owen.

"Love is when everything is a prison," he says, "except the place where you want to be."

It didn't end in an HEA though, because Ana was accused of murdering Owen.

The trial of the century began, the secrets of the Kingdom, of the people managing it, and the creatures who live in there began to surface - and it is just the beginning. What seems to be perfect from the outside, seems to be rotten in the inside. Everything is evolving, some things have gone wrong.

Exhilarating read, Jess Rothenberg made sure her readers were glued. From the start to the finish, you will just want to know what happens next, what happens to the other Fantasist, or why would Ana even harm Owen. I enjoyed how the story progressed. There wasn't a boring moment, but it didn't really prepared me for the ending. Now, that was something.

In the end, it does not matter what a story is about. It only matters who gets to tell it.

This book didn’t made me cry, in all fairness. This book filled me with so much hope that despite the profound sense of loss a person goes through, he or she can push the darkness and find the happy ending a person deserves.

Laya loss her husband. They just got married. Having a husband whose work is to do crazy, out-of-this-world stunt made her already a bit nervous. But she knew that he always practice and prepares himself to do the tricks. Until his last. And Laya saw how it happened.

Micah is an introvert. His life is boring. He might be an Ivy-League graduate, but he had no idea how he ended up in a firm where his supervisor steals his work and the latter’s wife harasses him. Nevertheless, he is easy to like. I think of him as sort of a nerd, who likes to keep it to himself. Thank goodness his twin is his total opposite. His life is quite mundane until Laya comes into his life.

But then Laya is not yet over her grief. She uses facebook and writes comments on her husband’s page as though he is still alive. Micah tries to make Laya see that she can still live by leaving her anonymous gifts and notes, trying to recreate the sense of adventure she once shared with Cameron.

What I like about this book is that Laya didn’t immediately get a quick fix on her grief, we went through the journey together. From her lowest points, to her craziness, to trying to fix herself before going into a relationship, to finally healing. It was an emotional rollercoaster, with loads of painful realizations, and hard truths - but the ride was worth it.

I liked Micah - okay it was creepy that he did some sleuthing on Laya and left all those stuffs for her - that’s borderline stalker-ish, nevertheless he’s a great guy. He’s nice, well too nice that he almost didn’t have a backbone, but he changed throughout the story. I love his relationship with his twin, the way he persuade Laya to do things that will get her out of the darkness.

I enjoyed reading The Last Post, it wasn’t the emotional, tear-my-heart apart kind of story I was expecting. I still liked it. I liked the fact that readers accompanied Laya in her journey with grief and towards her happy-ever-after. It’s a story of survival, of loss, hope, and love.

I have always adored the second-chance romance plot, and of course, Penelope Ward. The Day He Came Back is no exception, at all.

Gavin and Raven were young when they first met, and they hit it off instantly. Problem is that Gavin is very, very rich, and Raven works for their family. Not to mention, her mom works there as well, and Gavin's mother wasn't really a fan of them getting together.

Despite the circumstances, they had a wonderful summer romance. They fell in love, and were happy. Only that, it didn't have it's happy ending.

Ten years later, Raven was back in their hometown, this time as a nurse taking care of Gavin's dad. She didn't expect that life would lead her back home, but what she didn't expect more was to see Gavin, who was supposed to be in Europe. She wasn't prepared to see him. But he came back unexpectedly and there was no choice but to face reality.

The plot might be familiar, but I still loved this book. Penelope Ward gave us characters to hate, love and adore. Characters who are complex, and changed as time passes through. Characters whom you think you wouldn't like, but ended up rooting for them. I like Raven, and the choices she made. It might have broken her heart, but at that time, it was a very selfless act. She's truly amazing. Gavin, is great as well. He's an amazing man who knows what he wants, who is ready to fight back, and knows when to give up. He's smart and dedicated and loves unconditionally.

I enjoyed reading this book, the ups and downs of their romance, how they came together and gave their love story a second chance and finally the ending that I have been dying to know.

Charles Sheehan-Miles once again delivered another thought-provoking, heart-pounding novel laced with so much reality that would keep his readers on the edge of their seats.

The Roberts family was just an ordinary family. He was in love with his wife, and his son, Sam, used to be an artistic and happy kid. They have a nice house in a nice neighborhood. He has a great job, and Erin was a stay at home mom. But everything went down the drain when their daughter, Brenna disappeared. He lost his job, they lost their home.

They end up in the middle of nowhere Alabama, in a worn-out house, where from his executive table, he runs a small restaurant. Everyday, their lives just spiral, Erin is finding comfort at the bottom of the double, while spending her days trying to find their daughter through the internet. Sam is keeping things to himself, and not talking to any of them. And him? He works himself to tiredness for a meager salary to support his family.

You can’t help but get the feels and submerge yourself with the characters as all of them try to survive. Cole, Erin, Sam and Brenna. This wasn’t for the faint of heart. The journey was not a walk in the park. It was hard, there were loads of bumps in the roads, and mistakes were done.

But what I love about this book is despite all the things that happened is the amount of support that surrounded the family. In their own small or big way, people helped, and it made all the difference in the world.

Especially with Sam and his secrets. I think he was the most affected when Brenna disappeared. He did not just lost his sister. He lost his best friend and his confidant. No one understood him better than his sister.

And Brenna, she’d been through hell, and I was glad our author did not sugarcoat it. It was painful to read and just heartbreaking. And perhaps what makes it so painful is the fact that this is happening in our society, and not all are lucky enough to find their daughters and bring them back into their homes. You can see her journey right from the start, and the rescue wasn’t really the end. There was so much more to do after she’d found her way back to her family. It was hard, but they were all working on it.

This book is all about love, family, survival, acceptance and forgiveness. This is something that would stay with your for a very long time and would tickle not only your senses, but your awareness of the things that is happening around us. Charles Sheehan-Miles managed to packed several social topics that are considered taboos into one book, and making it into one, big giant emotional rollercoaster ride, which was way worth it.

They were just so much in love with each other, and you just have to ask, when did it start to break? Did one of them noticed it and try to save the marriage before it crumbled down? How can something so solid, so true and so amazing turned bitter, and broken?

This is Finn and Molly’s story, right from the beginning, to the end, and to the beginning of the new chapters in their lives. It’s a journey of marriage, the raw, painful reality of it, when the honeymoon is over, and life sets in. It’s a story of betrayal and redemption. Of forgiveness and love. Of loss and finding what’s right in front of you.

Letters to Molly tells us the importance of family, of trust and communication within the family and especially with the couple. It reminds us that there is more to life than building a company and making money.

To say that I loved this book is underrated, because Devney Perry went beyond it. Letters to Molly would make you believe in the great power of love. How it can move mountains and heal broken hearts and forgive even the gravest of all mistakes.

As to who sends the letters, I had my wild guess. Turned out I was right.

I look forward for more books fro this author!

Rachel Van Dyken proved once again that she’s the ultimate queen when it comes to Mafia Romance.

I have been waiting for Andrei’s HEA ever since, and OMG - it was so worth the wait. I have read about him in numerous Eagle Elite books, I have loathed him and loved him. But with DEBASE - knowing him intimately, hearing his thoughts, sharing his emotions - you are one heck of a man.

I never thought I’d see him fall. But of course, I know it would be inevitable, but I always wonder, what kind of woman would make this man fall to his knees. A woman who shares the similar nightmares, almost similar past - problem is,

will they share similar future?

When supposedly she wouldn't have one. Instead of killing me on the spot, Andrei kept her. Saved her, made her his (not in every sense of the word), BUT SHE WAS HIS, and under his protection. What happens when the brothers know about this? Will love and loyalty save them both from the inevitable?

I love how the story went, the secrets, the surprises, the brotherhood. They were still fun and deadly. I love that they welcomed Andrei into the group and made him a part of it. There were still some secrets looming that might change the future of everyone involved but I was just hoping that Alice, who suffered enough would get to have the HEA she deserves.

It's intense, filled with so much pain, suffering, loyalty, love and redemption (which I was really looking forward to). Ready your heart, because Debase is going to test it.

And it was just as epic as the rest of the Eagle Elite Series, and this was a great way to start another series to watch out for.

I slid my tongue into her mouth. I tasted, I took, I was greedy with each kiss. With blood on my hands, I held her.

My gloves felt too hot for my hands.

My hands too big to contain the weeping leather as I pulled away from Alice and stared into her big blue eyes.

“You don’t want this,” I whispered.

She bit down on her swollen lip and reached for me, I stood still as her warm hands touched both of my cheeks. “Lie.”

I let out a hiss of air at her touch. “Walk. Away.”

“Kiss me again.”

“I can’t do that.” I needed to stop doing that.

“Can’t or won’t?”

I told myself one more kiss, one more touch. I told myself it would be okay, that I was still in control.

That I was above this.

That no woman had ever owned me.

No woman had ever taken everything.

My chest heaved as I stared at her mouth, unable to move, completely rooted to the floor.

This book is just spectacular!

What happened in Vegas doesn't stay in Vegas, Griffin and Brooke learned it the hard way when their one night of passion had resulted to an amazing baby girl. Problem is, Griffin just signed up with the Chicago Bears and Brooke doesn't want to move.

But they did their best to co-parent their child, and they became good friends. They would talk everyday for seven years, and would share decision in how to raise their child. They had their rules, and they followed it.

His friends have other ideas though, and when he finally realized that they were right - there was no stopping him. He wanted Brooke, and he was going to get her. How to convince her? That would be the biggest challenge, or so he thinks.

Because just as when he had her, tragedy strike - one that hit him right through the core and one that might not end in happily-ever-after. But Griffin does not give up easily, and will take the hardest route to survive the challenge. This is where I fell in love with Griffin - the fact that he knew his priorities is just amazing.

This book made me laugh, squirm and made my heart ache. But I loved it. I like their daughter - she's adorable. What I love most though, is that friendship that they shared trying to raise that baby girl. From there, love just grew, and we all know that friendship is the best foundation for every relationship. I love Mel, she's the best, and will she have her HEA as well?

It might have been seven years ago, but when a man looks at your lips like he wants to explore every inch of them without stopping for air, you don’t forget it.

My traitorous eyelids fluttered shut. I willed them to open, but they refused to obey.

I moaned again as his hands traveled down my neck, his body pressing close into mine.

There were kisses, and then there was this.

This wasn’t a kiss, but a total melting of one body into another, and for a fleeting moment, I wanted to drown in the way it felt to have this man worshipping my mouth, his hands desperate to touch more of me but content to take what he could get in a hotel lounge.

“Hey, officer. I think you might have been walking too fast through the market.”

The hairs on my neck stand on end. That gravelly, too-sexy-for-words tone delivers a wave of sensation across my skin.

It could only be Mr. Trouble.

With an avocado in hand, I turn around, and my eyes feast. How is it possible for him to be even hotter today? Is this a trick only the handsomest men can employ? The ability to multiply their good looks?

Somehow, maybe a trick of the light, he’s exponentially sexier in those shades, his gray T-shirt showing off swirls of ink, and jeans so well-worn they cling caressingly to his legs.

Lucky jeans.

But it’s his face, most of all, that draws me in as soon as he flicks off his glasses and I get a full dose of dark, soulful brown eyes full of naughty wishes.

Oh, wait. Maybe those are my naughty wishes reflected back at me.

Because I want him.

Do I ever. I want to climb him, rope my hands through his hair, and haul him in for a wild kiss.

“Gee, was I speed-walking?” I toss out, mainly to keep him standing there, because I’m mesmerized next by his tattoos. Sunbursts and tribal bands curl over his sinewy arms, and I’d like to like them. I’d like to know if he’s inked elsewhere and how far, or how low, the artwork on his body descends.

To his hips? The top of his ass? The V of his abs?

A woman can dream.

With a tilt of his head and a far-too-knowing grin, he answers, “Let me guess. You either didn’t realize it, or you have someplace real important to be?”

“So important. I have to…” I trail off then make my voice as husky as can be as I set down my avocado, “…make guacamole.”

“You don’t say,” he rasps, his low baritone caressing me all over. “I could help you with that, officer.”

“Are you Mr. Avocado Farmer?”

“I’m Mr. I Can Show You How Ripe They Are.” He steps into the booth, moving next to me, getting into my space.

Closer than he needs to be.

A tremble rolls over my shoulders as he crowds me. “Let’s see.” He strokes his neat beard, and I rein in a whimper. I want my hands on that scruff.

He studies the sea of avocados, reaching for one at last and then sliding even closer, so his shoulder touches mine. It’s the match to my kindling and strikes a fire inside me.

If anyone tried to tell me a woman doesn’t have a type, I’d call that person a liar.

I have a type, and the type lights me up from sea to shining sea.

He cups the fruit in his palm, then brings it near my chest. I draw a quick breath, then flick my hair off my shoulders.

“By the way,” he says, “I like your hair up, but I fucking love it down.”

Dead.

I am dead from desire.

Before I can reply—I’m honestly not sure I can form intelligible words—he rubs his other hand over the rind. “See, you want to find the one that’s ripe and”—he pauses and turns his face to meet my gaze, his dark eyes holding mine—“ready to eat.”

A shudder hijacks my body. “Is that so?”

I don’t need a tutorial in picking avocados. Please. I know how to pick them just fine.

But I want his lesson. Want to hear his voice. Watch those hands move. Feel him slide closer.

“It’ll feel slightly soft, and it’ll yield to just the right amount of gentle pressure.”

And that pressure builds between my legs, an insistent throb. “How do you tell if it’s enough pressure?”

He pushes a thumb against the flesh of the fruit, making a husky hum low in his throat. “Just like that. See how it responds?”

“How’s it responding?”

He turns, angling his body nearer to me, his dark eyes shining with desire as he roams them over my face, my hair, my breasts. “Just the way I like it.”

This book is so much fun!

I love how the two characters banter - their chemistry is just off the charts, even when they first met, and you just couldn't wait how they would finally get together! Plus, they are super amazing. Perri is a brilliant cop, and is off to get the promotion of her life, which may or may not include a kissing contest.

Derek doesn't need a new relationship. He has been severely burnt before, and he was here not just for a new job but to help her sister with her little rascals whose husband is back in Afghanistan. You can't help but love him - especially when he is with the kids. Completely adorable, and out of his element, but he just loves them. You can feel how deeply they care for them.

It might have started with her wanting him to be her partner in the kissing contest - but with constant practice, late-night talks, and him cooking for her (did I ever mentioned he cooked????), this sort-of fling turned out to be more!

If you love the first book of the series, you haven't seen the last of it yet - because it just gotten better. So, Austin had his HEA in Lessons from a One Night Stand and we thought our girl Brooklyn would have the same with her boyfriend, after all they were getting married.

Good thing that didn't happen. Yep, our Brookie was jilted on the day of her wedding by her a**hat fiance. He was lucky enough not to be in the vicinity or the Bailey boys might have killed him after what he did to their sister.

Brooklyn was lucky enough to have her family hovering over her, but she needed to have an alone time and reflect. Only that didn't happen as well because fate has other plans. When she ended up back at her apartment, her new good-looking neighbor was set out to help her by bringing in Chinese food.

What she didn't expect is this hot-new neighbor to be her boss. Oh no.

It didn't stop the attraction to grow between Wyatt and Brooklyn though. Wyatt was very thoughtful, nice and easy on the eyes. He was there for her when she needed the most, and it helps that the Bailey boys like him. He has his own secrets though, secrets that might set them apart.

I enjoyed reading this book. I laughed a lot with the family - they were just hilarious, even at the face of heartbreak. I loved how their love story worked out, it didn't feel like a rebound. Oh no, it grew, and I was glad both of them didn't jump into it right away.

Advice From A Jilted Bride is an easy, sexy and romantic read.

I just can't wait for the rest of the Bailey's HEA!

Glass Castle Prince is a fairy tale where a prince fell in love with a commoner. But of course, it isn’t that easy. There were load of bumps and twists along the road before they get into their HEA.

Edward was groomed to become king one day. But the twenty-two year old prince was far from ready to ascend into throne. He was giving himself time with his friends in one of their royal homes to think and enjoy his life. What he didn’t expect was to meet Charlotte.

Charlotte wants a break from life and school. She wanted to think if she really want to do with her future. And for the meantime, she got a job house-sitting for the royal family. It didn’t include babysitting royals, especially the Crowned-Prince Edward.

Both of them are at their cross-roads, trying to think about their future and what paths to take. What they didn’t expect is for their paths to cross and to fall in love. I love both characters. Edward is pretty amazing - he’s very composed, honorable, kind and loyal. It’s easy to love him and of course his rowdy friends. Charlotte grew up way differently but she was intelligent, witty and nice. I love the banter between her and Edward, and his friends. There was no way that she was going to look after these guys.

Glass Castle Prince is easy on the heart. I enjoyed reading it - it’s sweet, sexy and no unnecessary drama. I thought it would end with a cliffy, but thank goodness it didn’t. Hopefully, his friends will get their stories too.

Raleigh is a walking disaster. She seemed to stumble down every single time. She's awkward, she's clumsy and she's shy. But out woman has the biggest heart, especially for her students.

Ezra was the boy that every one wants in high school. And now, he's the coach of the baseball team in their school, and she was still invisible to him until his box of condoms accidentally hit her face and caused bruises.

Ezra finally noticed her, and she was a bit hesitant. This was the man that everyone wanted after all, why would he want her? But he was patient and very nice to her. He likes her loads and was willing to do anything to prove that she was the woman he wanted.

Her past was her baggage, and it was just heartbreaking to see her sometimes shivering with terror about simple things. It was because of Ezra that somehow she regained her confidence back bit by bit. It was really nice to see how she changed in this novel - it wasn't unbelievably fast - the change was gradual and you can't help but just cheer for her.

I liked reading this book. The journey of the two characters to their HEA, the changes in their characters, the surprising twist and turns and not to mention that ending (OMG!) would make you want to grab this book!

Rachel Van Dyken did it once again. She didn’t disappoint with Risky Play. It was hilarious, sweet, great plot and interesting characters that will make you read this book in one sitting.

Mac is a planner. She knew what she wanted in her life, and planned it perfectly. It wasn’t in her plan to be jilted right in front of the altar of the man who promised her forever. After that humiliating event in her life, she decided to go on their honeymoon alone. She met Slade in the plane.

The first time they met was quite funny. I love the fact that Mac got rid of her inhibitions and jump to whatever she felt like doing. Slade was a willing partner. Although, they left the part of giving each other their real names. It felt real, and she felt good for the first time in months after what happened. When reality strike, their vacation was cut short, and Slade left her alone.

Slade is a famous athlete. He decided to have a break after his controversial transfer, and it was refreshing to know that the lady sitting beside him on the plane didn’t know him. But he’d been an a**, and left her at the resort.

The next thing he knew is that she was working for him. How can he possibly resist the woman?

Yes, the next time they met Slade was quite rude. But I was glad that it didn’t take long before Mac put him in his place. I love their banters, and their tug-of-wars about what they feel. I love Jagger and Matt and even Alfie.

I love how Mac’s character evolved. She finally knew what she’s worth and she knew that she deserves better if not the best. Slade, aw, he can break your hearts, but he knows how to grovel, and he does it well. I adore the friendship that developed between Jagger and Slade and Matt as well - bromance at its finest. I enjoyed it immensely. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

I am head over heels in love with this book!

The first time I read the excerpt, I just knew I need to get my hands on this one, and it didn't disappoint.

Love is sometimes just right in front of us, and we couldn't see it. We look further away. Livy Chapman is in love with her best friend Jessie Stephenson for forever. But she remained in the friendzone - he girl who copies his homework, supports him and hooks up with other girls in front of. So when Chase Mitchell, the starplayer of the soccer team offers himself to be her fake-boyfriend to drive off his crazy ex and have Jessie noticed her, she reluctantly agreed.

But, it turned out that Chase Mitchell was more than just a pretty face. He can be sweet, caring, thoughtful, and a good kisser. He brings out the best in her, and looks at her like she's the most beautiful girl in the world even in her worst outfit. Although - this is just pretend right?

What happens when the line gets blurred? Who will Livy choose?

I love how their 'pretend' relationship became. I'm glad that Livy didn't exactly agree at first, and how Chase finally wore her down and convinced her. Only that Chase has motives of his own. The pacing was just perfect, and everything was just right. Nothing was rushed. There was enough anticipation that will take you to the edge of your seat.

I love best friend romance, seriously. But there is always an exception - and it is this one. Livy deserves her HEA. She had been through so much when she was young, and is suffering from panic attacks and anxiety. I love that she has Sophie who has her back and supports her all the way. As for Chase, OMG, he's the best ever. He has his own secret that would seriously make you swoon and your heart melts. And god, did my heart break when Livy got stupid for a while there. I was just glad she finally realized who she wanted.

This one is a must-read.

“I’m sorry.” My throat constricts and I swallow.

“Okay.” She stares over my shoulder.

“Shit.” I shove my hands into the front pockets of my jeans. “I’m an idiot most of the time, and I make jokes. Because that’s what I do.”

Her chin lifts, and her gaze meets mine. “I thought you played guitar.”

“Yeah. I mean, sure.” I rock back on my heels and shrug. “But I’m the guy who lightens the mood when things get too intense. I don’t have a filter. At least, I’ve ignored it for a long time.”

Austin was the remaining single in the group. He’s the joker, the one who breaks the ice, and he likes his women. His was contented with his life and his bachelorhood, until he saw his friends being toppled down by love. There was no way it was going to happen to him - until Jayla came back into his life.

Jayla was the girl that got away. She was his best friend, the girl who believed in him, who he wanted, who he never had. As for Austin, it was a relief, probably not just for me, but for the rest of the group that he had got tired of his lifestyle and found the love of his life again.

More than just romance and second chances, this book spoke volumes of sensitive topics that are rampant in the society. From racism down to abuse. Kacey Shea threaded carefully with the topics, and sensitively placed them through the book. Yes, we might not be able to stop all of it, but we can raise awareness. I was glad I stumbled into this book!

I loved this book!

Dev is the best friend of your older brother that made you swoon when you were in your teens, and would make you squirm as an adult. He’s way too sexy for his own good. He works as a model and has a gazillion followers in social media that made him famous. He had not seen Audrey in years, and it was indeed a good surprise when he saw her again for her brother’s wedding.

Audrey has a whole lot of baggage coming from her past. She lost her parents at a young age, dumped by her fiance and she was just floating and in between job. So when Dev accidentally ‘proposed’ to her to be his fake fiancee, she said yes. Who would’ve say no to him?

It started with a viral social media story that gave Dev a contract that he had been dying to have from a conservative company. All they had to do was to pretend that they are really engage. It was one heck of a ride for the both of them - it was fun and frustrating at times - and you can’t help but just feel for Dev and Audrey.

I love how both of them grow, most especially Audrey in the story. She finally found her purpose and her calling.

Nevertheless, this book is a great read. It’s sweet, steamy and hilarious, the perfect trifecta!

Both of them didn’t want to rush things, with him just being jilted at the altar, and her being the photographer of the supposed event. They strike a deal: wait for three months and see if the powerful attraction that pulls them together is still as potent. What happens when their pasts come to haunt them? Will they still have their happy-ever-after?

Shannon is pretty amazing. I like that she values her independence and wasn’t afraid to speak her mind. It took her some time, but she finally realize the value of herself and wouldn’t settle for anything less. As for Victor, I like the changes of his character. From a workaholic to someone who finally learns how to relax, step back and yes, fall in love. We have two, strong, independent characters come together, and it’s just beautiful. I love the fact that they didn’t rush into things, that both of them were counting down until they finally get to that date. The rest of the first wives club who were completely supportive of Shannon, and her decisions - whichever that makes her happy.

I had so much fun reading this book. If you are looking for something light, funny, sexy and romantic - Faking Romantic ticks all those boxes. Totally worth the read!
