As the first signs of the coming Springs are appearing here and there (surely not here in Italy, where we are experiencing the harshest February in 30 years...), we bring you some hot news.

In little over a month, we'll storm over the British Isles once again, for three concerts in Dublin, London and Glasgow. Surgyn will be the main guests for the tour, and each date will have something spicy and unique.

We'll open in Dublin on Friday, March 9th, at The Thomas House, and you can find all the details at the official Facebook event. Surviving the first night of the tour will be already hard, as we know even too well how hard our Irish friends like to party - and drink!

Next day, Saturday, March 10th, we'll be in London at the Slimelight (our second house, really!) for a bombastic night featuring also the UK newcomers Spucktute and Observe & Control, all the way from Tel-Aviv. We'll also have a very special guest joining us on stage for a song or two...

And if this is not enough, the ticket to the gig will grant free entry to the Slimelight Afterparty, which will feature a live concert by Alien Vampires and 3 floors of industrial dance till 7am in the morning.

You can grab the limited edition digipack version by Deathwatch Asia (distributed worldwide through your usual stores/mailorders) or you can download it right now from iTunes, Amazon MP3, eMusic, Beatport - the worldwide #1 music store for electronic and dance music - and pretty much everywhere else you can go to buy digital music online.

And in case you are wondering, yes, you can find it also on Spotify: but let me please say a word about Spotify... as nice as it is to just stream everything you want, many of you won't know how little Spotify actually pay artists.

Very, very little: to the point that some labels are removing their entire catalogues from the streaming service althogether.

Check out this article to get an idea of how little is "very, very little".

At the same time, we decided to keep out music there because little is still better than nothing - YouTube for instace, which these days is the first place where people listen to music and discover new artists, allow illegal streaming even if it's theorically against their own policies.

End of story: be informed, do stream our music from Spotify as much as you want, but if you really like what you hear, do think about buying it.

We've hinted at and teased, but now we are ready to announce it: the maxi EP X: A Decade Of Decadence will be out on December 2nd, 2011 on limited digipack by DWA as well as being distributed through iTunes, Spotify, Beatport, Emusic and many other networks.

One of the first reviews we got, ten whole years ago, described us in a way that perfectly caught the whole idea behind XP8:

XP8 composes an airy blend of EBM, electronica, techno and trance, bringing their various visions and talents to life with synthetic vibrancy and danceable beats, crossing electronic genres with relative ease.Aimed at the heart of the dancefloor, the music keeps listeners moving through the night in timeless waves, emitting subtle hints of the 1980s while slipping easily into sounds of the new millennium: glitchy patterns, sharp simulated strings, and clear vocals travel through bright sequences and brooding atmospheres.

A couple of weeks ago we announced on our Facebook page that we were going to celebrate reaching 4000 "likes" by giving away an extremely cool and unreleaaed remix of our old hit Muv Your Dolly.

Done back in 2006 but never released, this version of our classic done by the Belgian band Diskonnekted is a little electro gem that we are now thrilled to share with you all, as we reached our goal today at 2:30pm Central European Time.

Always fashionably late, we launched our Bandcamp digital store today!

Here you'll be able to download directly from us most of our releases, as well some new ones, in your choice of MP3 320, FLAC, or just about any other format you could possibly desire.

Some of you might have noticed two never-seen before albums in the list: these are Behind The Mask and Still Frames.

Behind The Mask is a compilation made of remixes and b-sides that were originally featured on the 2CD Japanese Edition of Drop The Mask, released by Deathwatch Asia and limited to 200 copies.

This digital edition features 3 exclusive tracks never released anywhere else: Out For Blood (Bentley Bones Reflip), and our own Mk 2.3 versions of One True God and Ready2Go.

As this long summer finally draws to an end, we're back with some fresh news for you from the XP8 headquarters - now split between Rome, Italy and London, UK: how cool is that?

On this update, we are proud to announce our return to Scotland!

After playing in Edinburgh in the now distant 2007 at the Dark City Festival, we'll make our comeback on November 23rd, 2011, playing at The Classic Grand as special guests for Aesthetic Perfection.

If you know us just a little, you might remember what happened last time we shared the stage with Daniel and Tim... so you know this won't be a gig you want to miss!

Direct World Action for JAPAN

On March 11 2011, the world watched in horror as a devastating earthquake and tsunami struck Japan – and as the terrifying scenes replayed on TV and the Internet, people both here in Japan and around the world hurried to do what they could to help.

Based in Osaka since 2005, our partner Deathwatch Asia has long functioned as a bridge between the international alternative music industry and Japan - establishing trading relationships with many of the industry’s top labels, bands and magazines.

Within hours of disaster striking Japan, they spoke to all the artists, friends and media partners around the globe to ask if they were interested in joining a relief project, and the response was immediate and overwhelming.
A 32-track compilation album that would usually take anywhere up to 6 months to organise, was able to be finalised in every detail within just 2 weeks.

the RESISTANZ aftermath, and what's coming up next

The weekend to end all weekends.
The festival which ruled them all.

We had suggested you all that Resistanz was going to be epic, and epic indeed it has been... it would be too long to describe everything that went down in those two days, from meeting the legendary Stewart Who? at the hotel's restaurant and then sharing the stage with him, to watching Caustic destroy the stage, covering the epic Oxyacetilene of Cubanate's fame with no one else than Phil Barry himself (check out his current project, Be My Enemy), and everything in between.

So instead we'll just let you read Dominion's review of the festival, which we personally find pretty spot on - well, apart from what they wrote about our good friends from SAM, which simply put were everyone's favourite.

But hey, since when reviews are 100% correct, right?

We do think they were spot on regarding to us:

Italians XP8 [8] have chosen Resistanz to mark their ten-year anniversary. Infamous for their high adrenalin ebm sound and energetic live show, the duo treat the audience to a hit-laden set delivered at a dizzying pace. The tightly packed crowd undulates to the beats as they pour from the band's iBooks. In 45 minutes XP8 not only prove why they're an internationally renowned musical act, but also how energetic two guys with a couple of laptops can be on stage.

RESISTANZ

We'll start this news update with a little trivia: which is the first industrial, ebm and alternative electronic festival any rivethead can't afford to miss this year?

The answer? Resistanz, the International Industrial Music Festival of course!!!

Just check the lineup: every possible dark electronic genre is on the bill, which features some of the most famous bands and DJs alike.

We'll play on the first of the two days of the festival: at exactly 8:00 pm, on saturday April 2nd, we'll hit the stage at Corporation, in Sheffield, UK, and we'll take no prisoners for the following 45 minutes. We even have a very special guest, with whom we'll perform an extra exclusive track that most of you love to death already...
And if this is not enough, Marco will also headline the DJ sets at the afterparty, playing in the main room from 1.30 am to 2.30 am, spinning, as usual, all the best that nu-ebm has to offer.

Hello all from the XP8 headquarters!

Here in Rome, the dying summer is finally relaxing its grip on us, and we are starting to feel the cooler climates of the incoming fall, making it possible for us to even consider going back into the studio and start working on the new tunes we have been tinkering with for the past months.

Well… if we still had a studio, that is.

Due to some unforeseen events, the place we have been renting for the past 3 years had to close its doors all of sudden, thus leaving us without a room for our computers, musical instruments, outboard, and all that jazz.
The search for a new place started immediately, but things are not looking particularly bright at the moment, so we might in fact be without a proper studio for a quite a while.

What does this mean?
Surely, not that we are gonna stop making music… but rather, that we are forced to slow it all down and "go with the flow", hoping for a resolution of this new problem.
Unfortunately, slowing down is not something a band really ever wants, especially in times like these where either you constantly churn out releases to stay on the radar, or you get forgotten even too fast by an audience that has a very fickle attention span.

To cut a long story short… we wanted to come back from the summer holiday with a big announcement about the next release and several live dates, both in Europe and finally, back again in the USA, but Fate had different plans for us, and we all have to wait till things will smile upon us once again.

Meanwhile, you can still get all of our releases on iTunes of course, but also on the FiXT Store and the Metropolis Records Digital Store - both offering 320kpbs, DRM free files.
And let's not forget about our Asian partners, Deathwatch Asia, who still have available the last copies of the limited edition of Drop The Mask: get it before it becomes a collector's item!

This weekend we go to Finland!

Tampere, to be precise, where we'll be one of the headliners of the ten years anniversary of the LUMOUS GOTHIC FESTIVAL: among the other bands playing the likes of Leaether Strip and Nosferatu and Deutsch Nepal, for a weekend filled of industrial and gothic tunes.

We'll play on FRIDAY, 9th July, and you can find all the infos on the festival's official site or the events on Facebook and Last.fm, as usual!

This is going to be the last XP8 concert for a while, so if you want to see us live and have the opportunity to make it to Tampere, do so!

Tampere is also quite the party city!

We've been waiting for it for several months now, and finally it arrived: the Blackfield Festival weekend!

If you still don't know what we are talking about (where do you live???) you can get all the infos here, here or here: but as a quick recap, we'll play on Sunday 13th June in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, and we'll be on stage at noon time, opening the second day of the festival.
So be there early if you want to see our show!

We will also be available at the festival's official autograph boot from 13.15 to 14.00 for a meet & greet with all of you: so if you ended up in a flame war with Marco on some internet forums, this is your chance to come and tell him face to face how much you hate him! ;-)

In this news from a month ago, we told you how our song, The God Particle, was chosen for the soundtrack of the movie-documentary La Particella Di Dio, produced by Logovideo.

Today, on the 23rd of May (23-5: coincidence or synchronicity?), we release the video!

Produced again by Logovideo and being a montage of scenes from the movie and other material related to the God Particle, finally we are able to give a visual essence to one of our most loved songs.

The time has come!
This saturday we'll hit the stage in London for the fourth time, and it will be our third time at London's premiere industrial stage, the Slimelight.

We will be on during the club night itself, and we'll be on stage at 2.00 am circa: expect a thunderous set, as we are going to take no prisoners this time 'round!

To further celebrate our return to the UK, we decided to give our spin to one of the most classic tunes of the golden age of the cyber-rave scene in London: we are talking of nothing less than the epic Twisted, by Wayne G and Stewart Who? - and of course, here's for you all to enjoy.

Out this month, issue #21 of Fiend Magazine, Australia's premier industrial - goth magazine. Inside, we talk about our plans to change XP8 into a ragamuffin band and buy a house by the seaside in Cuba. Or maybe not...

Also online right now, our second interview with Sphere Mag: where Marco gets pretty vocal about the recent Corporation cancellation, and about how much he dislikes most current trends in our scene.

One day he'll learn just to keep his mouth shut and be a good drone like anyone else. Or maybe not (part II).

Sheffield cancelled, London it's on instead!

We regretfully announce that Corporation has decided to cancel our upcoming show on May 15th: the reason they provided is that we didn't have enough presales.

In a small and shrinking scene like ours, to cancel a show LOTS OF PEOPLE were expecting just due to not enough presales, expecially when it's a known fact that most people just get their tickets at the door, well... it's just appalling.

But this has been Corporation's decision and we can only accept it.

We are sorry for all of you, and you were many, who were expecting this show: our only suggestion is to start to buy presales, but then again, who knows if there's gonna be more shows in the future?

Not all is lost tho, since the concert has been rescheduled for the same date already, and it will now take place at the SLIMELIGHT, in London. We realise the change of city will prevent lots of people who were waiting for us to be able to attend anyway, but this was the only feasible possibility left for us, and we are thankful to the Slimelight management to have picked it up and made it possible.

Time and time again Corp management have disgusted me, and not just with the industrial scene. The DJs on the other hand are brilliant.
This XP8 gig was one of the most eagerly anticipated shows of the year so far.

I didn't know that many people relied on getting tix at the door cos of the concern that it'll sell out.

However, most people leave it until about 2 weeks or less to get tickets. I think that's a reasonable time. Now I'm LESS likely to get tickets beforehand for fear that it'll be cancelled.

If this even HAD gone ahead, the turnout would have been brilliant

Happy Beltane to you all! Or, for those who are not familiar with the pagan Wheel of the Year, just happy coming of Spring and the promise of Summer it holds inside.

To celebrate it, we decided to give you all a special gift: an exclusive remix of Scorpio Eyes done by Peter Rainman, aka People Theatre, known for having remixed several artists already ranging from Nitzer Ebb to David Caretta and several others.

We hope you like it as much as we did when we received it: it's a nice twist of the original ballad, giving it a cool retro futurepop sound.

On other news, Logovideo just release "La Particella di Dio", a very interesting movie-documentary on the life and work of Massimo Corbucci, the Italian physic who proposed an alternative solution to the theory of the Higgs Boson, known as the God Particle and recently under the spotlights of worldwide media due to the experiments being held at the CERN in Geneva, Switzerland.

As you surely remember, we wrote a song called The God Particle back in 2005, and it's has been featured on the movie's soundtrack... so just another reason to check this out!

It's April... it's Spring, at long last... and here we are with some XP8 news to keep you in the loop of what's happening over here, as usual!

Let's start with something nice: the Swedish leading electro webzine Blackvector voted Drop The Mask among the best albums from the first quarter of this 2010.

Here's what they say: "the album offers much variety both musicwise and with vocals and this amazing release from XP8 is easily their best release to date. Heavy beats and infectious soundscapes it is a must-have for all who likes great danceable music."

They also reviewed the album back in January, giving it a nice 9/10: you can still read the full review here.

XP8 supports the Noisescape TV fundraiser

After more than three years shooting standard DV only, Noisescape TV is ready to make the jump to HD video production! To help us achieve this goal, we're asking our fans—and the fans of the bands we work with—to help us get a new HD video camera.

Our aim is to raise $3500 in order to purchase a new Sony HDR-AX2000 AVCHD camcorder. This is Sony's new HD version of their older DCR-VX2000, universally acknowledged as having the best low-light performance of any comparable video camera ever released, and thus uniquely perfect for shooting live shows. Some background on us: Noisescape TV is entirely a labor of love. In the beginning, we conceived it as an opportunity for us to merge our interest in emerging technology with our passion for goth, industrial, and otherwise fringe music. Since its inception, we have shot hundreds of bands, dozens of live shows, and filmed over four seasons of weekly TV shows, offering all of this for free to our viewers, and financing it entirely out of our own pockets. Our goal to acquire this new camera is born entirely out of our desire to bring the best possible product to the people—and to better serve all the incredibly talented bands and artists we work with.

About the band fan pack prizes: each one consists of a signed CD plus other promo/swag type extras, such as signed photos, stickers, pins, shirts, and various other items. The contents of each pack were selected by the band in question, so products inside will vary depending on what’s available.
