The actress known for her roles in Clueless, Girl, Interrupted, Don't Say a Word, Uptown Girls, and the animated series King of the Hill was pronounced dead. No word yet why the actress went into cardiac arrest but let's all hope that it is not for the reason we automatically think it is. The actress always had an America sweetheart personality and it is sad lost for Hollywood. For those who do not know she played Luanne in the animated series King of the Hill that ended this year that was made by Beavis and Butthead creator Mike Judge.

Just in time for the holidays. The instant classic will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray this Tuesday and I am flipping out about it. One of my films that really stood out to me. The film is totally different than it is advertised on television. It is not in English most of the time but mostly in German, French, and some Italian. Brad Pitt are only minor character in the fantanstic, large group of actors.

Christoph Waltz really stood out as the charming but evil Jew Hunter. His real character name slips my mind but he is nicknamed the Jew Hunter. The movie is about several groups of people who are out to kill Hitler and end the reign of the Nazis. The Basterds are a group Jews who set out to kill any Nazi in sight and go after Hitler. There is a woman and her lover who runs a cinema where a Nazi propaganda film is being premiered that she plans to blow up on the premiere because every leader, including Hitler will attend.

The Basterds joins up with an actress who is also a undercover agent to attend the premiere to try to assasinate Hitler. The woman and the Basterds are not working together and do not meet each other through out the entire film. It is not as bloody as people think and you will be reading a lot of subtitles but it is so entertaining. The conversations will have you on the edge of your seat. It will be all worth it when you see the grand finale at the premiere when they come into the preence of Hitler! Pick Inglourious Basterds up on December 15.

There is a rumor out on the world wide web that a pilot for a remake of the old television series has been greenlit. The guy behind The Sarah Conner Chronicles is set to write and executive produce the updated Charlie's Angels series. This really does not sound like a bad idea, if they do it right because this can go all wrong as much as it can right. The producer of the original series, Leonard Goldberg, is also part of the new series as well as Drew Barrymore who bought the film version to life with her production company. This is not the first time Hollywood has tried to bring back this beloved series but once in 1988 and once in 2004.

This is kind of sad news after the tragic lost of the woman who made Charlie's Angels a hit in the first place. Are you excited?
Glory to Satan!"

Early this morning, people who are following Britney saw the message above from her Twitter page. To everyone who was following her and saw this message, do not be alarmed, our favorite pop princess is not really promoting the whorship of Satan but her Twitter page was merely hacked by some nut case. This post though did continue for a little while before anyone did anything. The post was reposted and reposted; Perez Hilton ask the person to promote people to follow him. Who would be so bored to hack into someone's Twitter to try to recruit people to the Church of Satan. Later, #StopHackinBritney became a trending topic on the social networking site.

Let's all hope some gullible Britney fan converted to praising Satan and end up on the 6 o' clock news for sacrificing chickens in the name of Britney and Satan.

The wait is really over! The mystery surrounding the Rihanna album in the months before October was so huge that is had Rihanna fans anticipating to the edge of insanity...Vicki. When Rihanna first logged onto Twitter and, as said in a previous post, she posted a date and the words the wait is over with the link to her website. On the website was a countdown, which is located on the side of the blog, that was counting down to the release of her new single, Russian Roulette. After it premiered the countdown changed to the countdown of her album release, November 23, for Rated R.

This is Rihanna's first album with the infamous parental advisory sticker! GASP! So far there are three singles out for the album, Russian Roulette, Wait Your Turn, and Hard. Wait Your Turn is the promotional single and Hard has not been officially released yet but is set to very soon. There is a video for all three single and Russian Roulette's premiering on 20/20 friday.

This album is going to be way more edgy than any other album Rihanna has created. She said on It's On with Alexa Chung that the sound of the album is dark and this is what we wanted from here in the first place. A dark Rihanna! She also hinted around that the album might be dealing with her ex Chris Brown. She said she started recording it a month after the incident. It sounds as if the album is going to be a more rock sound, she has the famous Slash is the song Rockstar 101 and so far every song released has a guitar in it. Expect so much from Rihanna's new album Rated R; out November 23rd. The track list is below:

1. "Mad House"
Michael Jackson's This Is It was a fun experience where people was dancing in the aisle, screaming, clapping, and cheering for Michael as the movie played. NOT! The audiences at the Cary, North Carolina Crossroads Theater 20 was one of the most boring audience ever. If you see this movie make sure you get involved, because it is the only way to really feel the excitement of this film. Maybe this differs to huge fanatics to Michael Jackson who would be just as happy to see a Michael Jackson slide show for 2 hours.

That is who the film is for in the first place; the fanatics. For people who did not grow up with Michael Jackson but enjoyed his music will find it okay but not a extravaganza it is advertised to be. The film starts off with a written, Star Wars like, introduction that then fades away with three simple words, This is It. What do you expect now as the films fades to black; a loud spectacular with Michael dancing, lights, loud music, and his signature WOO! Wrong, the films starts off with interviews of the dancers who tell how they feel about to be dancing with Michael Jackson.

The interviews were taken before they even started dancing and they were tearing up already. This shows the power Michael has on admirers of his; these people have not even started and was crying. When Michael does come out his dance moves were slow and simple. You can't jump on him about his slow dance moves, the man was 50 years old. He was moving better than any other 50 year old man you have met.

He did try to stay away from the moonwalk. This makes you question yourself if he could still do it. Michael's singing was just as good as it was back in the days of Off the Wall and Thriller. When he hit the note in Human Nature people began to clap in theater, which was one of the rare occasions they did. The rumors about the body double is all bull because you could clearly tell that the person dancing was indeed Michael Jackson.

There were parts that Michael's face was shadowed but it was no big deal because you could still see his skinny legs. The man they said did the body double work has much fitter than Michael and they could not have been his legs. Jo Jackson just needs to sit down and shut up, yeah, don't be afraid him and his lawyers. Besides his singing and dancing Michael Jackson was very hands on with the tour. The rumors of him being over worked and forced to dance like some kind of monkey in a hat are lies as well, unless they cut out certain parts that they did not want us to see.

He seemed healthy and happy to be doing what he loved. He was friendly to every one he worked with, even when he was complaining about how he disliked the earpiece he had on. He joked around with his live band, which included a guy named Mo Pleasure. You will get laughs out of this film. Michael jokes around a lot. One of them being about putting more "booty" into the beat of a song got big laughs from the audience.

He was portrayed very human and innocent. This film will make people who joked on him in the past ashamed of what they said about him. He was too kind and too happy of a person to have to go through the things he has been through. It's depressing at the fact that he never got to have a peaceful moment to himself without having someone talk about it. Imagine it like high school where the mean girl talks about you in front of everyone. After awhile you do not want to do anything, fearing that mean girl is going to talk about you again.

It was very strange to see him dancing, singing, and interacting with the people knowing that a few days later he died. It's even worst because you are looking at this public figure on screen not knowing a few days his life would soon end in the hands of the reckless doctors he trusted. This Is It is a film that will not leave a dry eye in the house. He was a fragile, ridiculed celebrity but was still smiling throughout the film. This will make audiences worldwide realized that the King of Pop is really gone.

It is no lie that he is truly the King of Pop. The man was something out of this world. It is amazing that someone who has been through so much could even hold the determination to continue to do what he loved. It is extremely sad that some people had to realize this on his last day on earth.

Overall the film was great for big fans of Michael Jackson, even if it looked like a couple of people with HD cameras put it together on Microsoft Movie Maker. For people who was not around when Thriller first premiered will finally get to see an intimate view of a figure all their life have be portrayed on television as a freak, as who he really was, the King of Pop. It is a film that you need to ignore the silence rule in the theater and really get hype. Get up and dance if you want because it will make it more fun for you and more fun for the others there to see it. This is really it.

Our beloved Rihanna has just shocked us all. There have been rumors and there have been speculations. Her peers made it seem as if she was still in the recording stage of her new album. Last night Rihanna posted on her spanking brand new Twitter page:

"It's just the way the game is played....wait your turn http://www.rihannanow.com"

When people clicked on the link it led to a counter that counted down to something mysteriously. No one knew what it was. Many had thought it was the album cover of her new album, the new single, a music video, or something! It indeed counted down to her new single Russian Roulette. The song is big change from the R&B princess.

It is dark and edgy as she sings about her heart beating through her chest and how she is terrified but she is not leaving. Many of course is going to instantly think it's about Chris Brown. Rumors are that the incident with him was not the first time and when she sings she is terrified but she is not leaving will make the listener think automatically Chris. We will never know what the song is truly about but there is some kind of deeper meaning to it and when you listen to it you can tell. This song is going to be number one in no time, so will her album that is dropping on November 23, 2009. The date all Rihanna fans have been anticipating.

No idea yet what the name of the album is yet. You can get the counter on Rihanna's website that is now counting down to the high anticipated release of her new album and includes the video that will get everyone hype about it. The wait is ova....she's back.

I was on Twitter and E! announced that Chris Brown announced today that he will be going on tour a few hours after Rihanna had her huge release of her high anticipated new single and album news. He said it will be called The Fan Appreciation Tour [ a.k.a. Thank You For Still Listening to My Music After I beat up Rihanna Tour]. That is trifling. He said he will have it in small venues so it will give that more intimate feeling, honestly I feel like he doesn't expect that many people to come. Get this, Chris Brown has a official new single out to that came out last month.

I have not heard anything about that on the radio, I thought it was just a leaked single that people had on bootleg CDs. The only people who are really sticking on his side are the idiotic girls who think he is sexy and says she deserve it. But when I asked them would you deserve it, they would say no and go off contradicting their <strike>dumbasses</strike> dumb selves.

Welcome to the brand new POP! Life. This blog is part of the POP! series but this blog deals with my life, The Pop Culture Guy, in a series of blog posts. I want this go towards a Carrie Bradshaw direction with her Sex & The City column in the New York Star. If you have seen Sex and the City you will know what the New York Star is. I will write randomly on things that are going on in my life.

POP! Life is just a basic, interesting, witty diary on the writer and creator of POP! I will still write for POP! and I will still write for the Raliegh Examiner. It's a lot of work, plus with school and my college stuff. I hope you enjoy it and check back everyday. I might make it a weekly thing, 2 posts a week. It's just the beginning so I have no idea really on the direction to take this.Don't let that loose faith in it because I do by best to please my readers.

Rihanna is just teasing us and I love it! She recently got on Twitter and the first tweet she ever did was "The wait is ova...11.23.09." Her second ever tweet said "It's just the way the game is played....wait you turn. http://www.rihannanow.com." When you click on the url you will see that there is timer counting down to something that is about to happen TOMORROW!!

There are no hints but at the bottom the words, "The Wait is Ova." And if you click on it you can subscribe to something. On that page there is a letter "R" carved onto the background. Rihanna is getting her fans good! I believe that she is premiring her new song and video tomorrow and the album will be out the 23rd of November.

Or it might be an annoucement of her new album and her album cover. All I do know she is coming out with a new album soon and she has filmed a video for it. There's footage on YouTube of her filming it.

On November 24th, Britney Spears will be releasing her greatest hits collection and on that collection is her new single, 3. 3 is a different vibe for the pop star who rarely strays into this type of pop music. The song is great and it surpasses anything Britney has done in years. 3 is a club banger that is produced by Max Martin. Max Martin has produce past songs by Britney including, ....Baby One More Time, Oops...I Did It Again, Stronger, and If U Seek Amy.

Britney is bringing the fire with this song and is really change the whole vibe up. It's rumored that Britney Spears will film the video in late October. Here's what others are saying:

"If U Seek Amy" was an implied double-entendre, whereas "3" finds Spears seductively delivering her most racy lyrics to date." -Billboard

"Is more of a surefire dance-floor stomper than anything Brit loaded onto Blackout or Circus." -Rolling Stone

It's about that time for The Twilight Saga: New Moon to come out on the 20th of November but yet The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is coming out so soon as well. The 3rd installment in the Twilight series comes out June 30, 2010. Just in time for the squealing teenage girls to go on summer vacation. Filming is expected to be done for the movie on Halloween and its been spread around that the 4th one might start production afterward. The Twilight Sage: Breaking Dawn is being thrown around as a two parter, trying to be Harry Potter are we, but it has not yet been confirmed.

The fabulous director of New Moon isn't doing the third one but is expected to return for the 4th one. He feels right for these films. If you just look at the difference between the trailers of Twilight and New Moon, you can tell that New Moon is going to be the best between the two. Catherine Hardwick was not right for the role as director for the first one. As many have heard, Rachelle Lafevre was replaced by director Ron Howard's daughter Bryce Dallas Howard.

This caused much controversy because it was heard that Lafevre didn't even know she had been replaced. There is something out there more important on what your favorite celebrity is doing or about what movie is doing good. Susan Goodman Komen, from Peoria, Illinois was diagnosed with breast cancer at 33 years old. She died 3 years later. Her younger sister made a promise to help speed up the process to find a cure.

Her sister, Nancy Goodman Binker, made the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in 1982 in honor of her older sister. It's Breast Cancer Awarness Month and we need to help get the word out there. To help find a cure.

According to wikipedia.com, in the United States, there were 216,000 cases of invasive breast cancer and 40,000 deaths in 2004. Worldwide, breast cancer is the second most common type of cancer after lung cancer (10.4% of all cancer incidence, both sexes counted) and the fifth most common cause of cancer death. In 2004, breast cancer caused 519,000 deaths worldwide (7% of cancer deaths; almost 1% of all deaths). Help find a cure for this deadly disease that took away many lives of many loved ones.

So in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, help make breast cancer a trending topic on Twitter. Type #breastcancer to help. Tweet the URL to this article along with #breastcancer to let people read this themselves.

She has the power to do that after death too. Smith who died in 2007 had been investigated by the FBI in 2000 and 2001. The FBI wanted to know if she had planned to hire someone to kill her, late husband's son, E. Pierce Marshall. Not many thought Smith really loved, 89 year old, J. Howard Marshall. It was the classic tale of the gold-digging wife and the old husband. Other reports are saying that Anna Nicole's ex-boyfriend claimed she came to him to help her kill E. Pierce Marshall.

He said that Smith would get high on pain pills, tell her ex that he had to kill him, and that she could do it because she was Anna Nicole Smith. Michael Jackson This is It

One of the most highly anticipated films of the year is about to come in a few more weeks. Michael Jackson's This Is It is a tour film documenting Michael Jackson's rehearsal of This Is It tour that never got to happen. The films shows the Michael Jackson performing the original numbers from the tour plus behind the scene footage of Michael interacting with the dancers and the crew. The 2 week only event was originally suppose to be release on October 30th but the date was moved up to October 28, 2009. The trailer caused much hype when it premiered at the controversial VMA's this year. Parts of the film will be in 3D and include interviews with friends of Michael's.

The This Is It concert tragically came to a halt after the death of the pop star. Michael Jackson's This Is It movie will be a great comfort for fans who are anticipating to see the part we loved about Michael. Michael Jackson. The DVD is expected to be released sometime before Christmas with additional interviews and more behind the scenes footage. Are you going to see the movie? Do you want to see the movie?

She blew everyone away with her artistic direction for the performance down to the finale, where she was hung, bloody for all to enjoy. If you want more you can go see her and, yes, Kanye West this year at The Fame Kills Tour. Now after Kanye West's recent stunt, not many people will be coming to see him perform. Lady Gaga is the star of the show, be honest. She breaths Freddie Mercury, her essence is of Madonna and Britney Spears. Her artsy direction is screaming Andy Warhol. Lady Gaga is a pop culture blender of everything original in the world making her even more original than the original!

She is the queen of pop culture, not pop, Madonna stills holds that down. Everyone will be running to buy tickets to see the queen in action because she doesn't let her audience down. She's a performer that will satisfy everyone with her live vocals, her set designs, and of course, her outfits. Kanye should just be the opening act because he seems as if he's taking a little of the stuff we love about Lady Gaga away. You have to admit he's album 808s & Heartbreaks was great but everyone being on Team Taylor gives the tour some type of bad karma. Do you think Kanye will bring down Lady Gaga's presence?

She rocked Greensboro in the beginning of the month, she's sold 35 million copies of her albums, she's the 13th most powerful celebrity according to Forbes, she's the highest earning young musician of the year, and the top-selling female artist. Britney Spears has done a lot at such a young age and has been through so much. She's a strong woman, making her a good role model, for the fact she survived through all she been through in the past years and still be on top. She fell down and came right back up stronger. It's been a decade since ...Baby One More Time and now her musical accomplishments are about to be part of her greatest hits collection.

Britney Spears announced, via Twitter, that she is releasing her second greatest hits collection that will include brand new songs on November 24, 2009. Her new single, being released this week, is called 3. Two versions of The Single Collection will be released, the boring one-disc version with 17 tracks of her best singles and 3. Then there's the one everyone will want, The Ultimate Fan Box Set will include all 29 of Britney's singles including 3, and a DVD with all of her videos in order. Each disc will have it's own slip case with original artwork and include a b-side or a remix of a track. Which will you pick up, the single disc or the ultimate fan box set?

A very long time that's how long. We've been listening to all the hits Good Girl Gone Bad had bought to us but now we want some new hits. Rumor has it that it's going to be released in November but I doubt that. Rihanna, who has been collaborating with Jay Z and other artists in their songs, has been working hard on a new album that Ne-Yo slipped up and said it's going to be more angrier and edgier than her last album. Akon said that he is working with her on her new album and he doesn't want an angry Rihanna.

Stop, Akon, Stop! Her audience would love an angrier Rihanna and it will sell like hot pockets if she do. Her audience who are girls are looking up at her as the good girl/bad girl image and are trying to recreate that. If they here here singing about rainbows and beaches it might not do that well. Plus, with what happen with her ex, who shall remain nameless, we're all expecting an angry Rihanna. It's all about girl power now, everyone enjoys watching a girl kick ass.

Quentin Tarentino bought that back to our culture with Kill Bill. What kind of tone do you want Rihanna to go with her new album?

Jennifer's Body might not suck but according to critics and the box office so far it does, maybe. Jennifer's Body, if you don't know, is about Jennifer who is sacrificed to the devil so a unknown band can become famous. The sacrifice goes wrong and a demon take over her body. In the movie it is not an happy ending and everyone gets screwed over. Maybe that's why it didn't get that much at the box office, it might just become the #5 movie in the box office charts.

Maybe then they will advertise it as the #1 horror film in America, unless that crappy The Final Destination doesn't move up one notch. Jennifer's Body holds a 42% on Rotten Tomatoes making it a rotten tomato i.e. a bad movie. It might not be as bad as people think but audiences want a happy ending with movies like this. Movies with characters you get attached to, you want everything to be okay and good at the end. Everything doesn't have to be perfect, like you can kill off at least one person you get attached with, but not have everyone have miserable endings.

Yes, it is more realistic to have everyone have a miserable ending but that's why people go to the movies. To escape from reality. What did you think of Jennifer's Body? Did you enjoy how it ends?
If you're not that into fashion you might not know who this creative mastermind is. Karl Lagerfeld is the head designer and creative director for "Chanel". He also works with his own fashion line "K Karl Lagerfeld" and with "Fendi". Karl Lagefeld was born as Karl Otto Lagerfelfdt on September 10, 1933 and would later grow as one of the biggest name in the fashion industry.

In 1955 he had a run in with Yves Saint-Laurent in a competition. Largerfeld won second place and Yves won 1st, who was working for Dior at the time. In 1958, he designed two haute couture collections for five years. His first collection received terrible reviews and was booed by the press. Now the man who was booed by fashion critics in 1958 is now being well praised by many today.

Karl Lagerfeld is a rock star in fashion.
