Fashion Inspiration: Iris van Herpen Spring/Summer 2012 Haute Couture inspired by the scientific photography of Steve Gschmeissner.

The infusion of fashion, art and technology is the signature of the talented designer Iris van Herpen. Despite her young age, she managed to achieve satisfactory results in the fashion stage completed with success including numerous awards, international recognition and membership in exclusive Chambre Syndical de la Haute Couture. Since 2007, Iris progressively builds up her unique and innovative signature blurring the vision between fashion and art.

The latest collection for Spring/Summer 2012 was presented at Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris. The background of the inspiration for the “Micro” collection unveils the vision of microscopic enhanced by the scientific photography of Steve Gschmeissner.

Uniqueness of Forget Me Not reveals the synergy of fashion and art on the printed silk scarves. Hand-drawn compositions by Coco Pit – the creative mind and the “director” of inspiration in Forget Me Not signature, are transformed in to the art mode prints presented on the scarves. The Spring/Summer 2012 collection is visibly influenced by Ancient Egypt theme. The mystery of myths and Egyptian deities are depicted by the symbolism and implementations of montage techniques.

Despite the fact that flowers as the one of most common themes in fashion, they can can result in awe-inspiring fashion interpretations as well. The proof of that is signified by Issey Miyake’s catwalk for Spring/Summer 2012 season. "The Bloom Skin" presentation focuses on the flowers' life unveiling all the phases of growth through the innovations on the garment and image experiments. The medley of brush strokes, tribal prints, graphic patterns, lightweight fabrics and tailoring cuts gradually depicts the miracle of flowers' life with the assist of unique accessories: headpieces by Christophe Coppens and jewelry artist Tzuri Gueta.
