It's been awhile

Well it's been awhile since I've posted or done a give away. Just been busy with other things. We added a new baby to the family recently. Twinkie was a rescue from the shelter I volunteer at. Isn't she a cutie!!! I'm planning on having some more giveaways in the near future so check back soon.

Sorry it has been awhile since I've done a give away. I have been busy setting my new business. I have set up a few booths at local gift/craft malls here in Branson, MO. It's called The Branson Bunny. We sell baking mixes, gourmet teas, dipping mixes, teapots, sweets and some really cute unique gifts. I was in the middle of packing to move to a new home when I found out about PureAyre odor eliminator. They were nice enough to send me some of their products to test out.    As I said earlier, the house we were moving into had been sitting vacant and definitely had some odors going on especially in the bathroom. On the first day we took over the house I went around and sprayed every room. The spray I was sent was the "baby" version. It has a very light mint scent. Very nice and refreshing. It really made a difference in the air in the house and it felt good to be moving out furniture into a fresh smelling house. I also sprayed down all the dog beds and this really made a difference. I am in the middle of moving to another state and will be taking a week or two away from doing giveaways. I have so much more work to do. Have to finish packing up the old house, getting things to the new one and then unpacking. This is our 4th state in less than 3 years! We were in Las Vegas, NV for over 10 years. After my husband's job laid him off we moved to Manitou Springs, Colorado. After a 6 month stint there, we went to Little Rock, AR. Now we are off to Branson, MO! My husband's job gave him a transfer which we are happy about. He is in the entertainment business and is an entertainment director as well as musician.

I am a big lipstick wearer. I wear it all day, every day. The only part I don't like about it is the fact that I have to reapply about every hour. I don't know if it's my lips or the brands I use, but it's usually all worn off in an hour. Even if I am just sitting working on my computer.

I recently had the chance to review several shades of Maybelline's new Super Stay 24 2 Step Lipcolor. I was a little leery when I received my sample packet from BzzAgent . I have tried all the other "stay on" lipsticks in the past and they didn't work. They were drying and always caked up after a few hours and looked terrible. Now I have finally found something that actually does what it says it does!

   I have used this lipstick every day for about a week now. Every time I followed the directions on the box. Apply the color, wait 2 minutes for it to dry then apply the gloss. Most days it really stayed on all day even through eating several meals. I did have to reapply the gloss several times though, but that is expected. That wears off. Some days I still had it on the next morning.

   Overall I was VERY impressed! A few times after eating I did notice it had worn off enough that I had to reapply the color. The instructions state to remove with an oil based make up remover. I assumed that beacuse I had eaten something greasy that it started wearing it off. Even so, twice a day is better than twice an hour. I will definitely be buying more as soon as I run out of what I've got. They have a lot of great colors. You can check them all out here on Maybelline's website.

   I received 4 tubes in my kit and one of them I have not tried. The color looks nice but is too bold for me. If I was still in my partying days I would probably wear it out at night. I thought I would give it away. The color is Everlasting Wine. It's a burgundy reddish color.

   I recently have had to delete a bunch of entries for my giveaways because of people not following the rules or reading the entry requirements. Depending on the sponsor, every giveaway has a different mandatory entry requirement. If you don't complete the mandatory entry correctly, I will have to delete all other entries.

   I have also had some people putting in entries with no contact information. I had drawn someone as a winner and had to go back and redraw because they used a "handle" in all posts and did not leave their real name or email. I had no idea who they were or how to contact them. I will require an email address in all mandatory entries from now on.

   I have also noticed a few people using the same email for several accounts. It lets them put in a bunch of entries and that's not really fair to everyone else. From now on, only 1 email per "handle." I will disqualify entries if I see one person putting in a bunch of comments under different handles. Please be fair to everyone else.

Country Bob's All Purpose Sauce Review & Giveaway - ends 3/22- CLOSED

When I heard that Country Bob's was looking for Bloggers to review their sauce, I knew I had to give it a try. I am always looking for different sauces to try to spice up my dishes a bit. This sauce sounded great because it's an All Purpose Sauce. It's very versatile and can be used on beef, chicken, fish, vegetables and much more. It's also gluten free. Al Malekovic, one of the owners of Country's Bobs, was nice enough to send me two bottles for my review.

I first used it to make burgers. I mixed some into the beef then poured some on top when done cooking. The sauce is thinner than BBQ sauce. More like a steak sauce. It's sweet but also tangy. It was a little more tangy than I was expecting, but not overpowering. This was the regular sauce I tried. They also have a spicy version and I would have to imagine that it would be VERY spicy. Overall I really liked it.

A few days later I used it to make meatloaf. I was sent a brochure with my sauces and there was a recipe for meatloaf on it. It was a little different than how I usually make it so I thought I would give it a try. I'm glad I did! My husband and I thought it tasted great! The sauce gave it a nice tangy flavor. YUMMY! I will definitely be making that again. If you go to Country Bob's website you can find the meatloaf recipe as well as 70 other recipes. Maybe you can find something new to make for dinner.

Overall, I would definitely recommend Country Bob's All Purpose Sauce. I'm planning on using it on chicken this weekend and can't wait!
