Knol:Google Encyclopedia Site or Google Article Publishing Site

Today I typed "knol.google" into the search engine and guest what I got "Oops we can't find the web page you're looking for". Now I wanted to give you the "www." and the ".com" with the knol.google but this blogger automatically converts it to the url address. And if google is as slow as they seem to be, the url is still not converting to the knol website. If you want to find out about google knol, type "knol" into the search engine.

I've reviewed knol ( a unit of knowledge) and so far I'm not impressed. Site doesn't have topic categories and not a varied array of articles. This may change with more contributors. As for now, I can't the difference between this site and a article publishing site.

Google knols can make money with adsense ads on their pages. Wikipedia doesn't run any type of ads; they do, however request donations. It seems that Google will be making a profit from the author's work. Adsense ads placed on what is suppose to be Google's answer to an online encyclopedia is a little too commerical for my taste. Because of my opinion, I don't consider Google knol to be an encyclopedia. It's just another way to make money writing long extensive articles on what would be considered a person's field of expertise. Nothing more, nothing less!

The knol author (owner) can invite co-authors to assist in the article writing, and editing. The uninvited writers can offer suggestions on the knol topic. These individuals working together, according to Google, are the author's team. You would think that as a team, everyone would have a vote in what to edit or change in a knol. This is not the case, the author is the ruling authority on what is added, deleted or changed. Well, how about the profits from the adsense ads? Why the author receives the profits and the other team members receive nothing. Let's not forget that the author is the owner of a knol.

If you want to use a knol as a sales page, forget it. Google prohibits direct product selling. Your knol has to give relevant content and not written just for adsense ads. You can promote your business and/or your product on a knol.

I have seen some knols that have taken their articles directly from their site. If Google knol has no problem with this, why should I? I guess duplicate content is okay for a Google site.

Is Google knol an online encyclopedia site or an article publishing site? It's too early to answer that question. While you are waiting for an answer, check out the site. It may be another money making opportunity.

Squidoo:Money Making Tip Part II

As I wrote in my previous blog, I've become a squidoo fan. There are so many fantastic features on the squidoo lens. For your money making ventures, this site is the way to go.

Let me repeat myself, squidoo is great for affiliate marketing. In addition to adsense ads, you will find modules for Ebay, Amazon and Netflix. All these modules on one lens and more ways to earn money.

Do you like YouTube? Well squidoo has it! How about real time messaging? Twitter Follow is the module for you. Going on a trip and need information about the destination? You can find what you need on Yelp. These are just some of the great features on squidoo.

In your bio box, you have the option to upload a photo. Although lensmasters strongly recommend a photo, I don't have one. Never one for taking pictures. You can tag your lens with up to 40 keywords and/or phrases. There are even suggestion keywords and phrases for your use.

In the payment option , you can choose squidoo charity fund, your pick of a charity or even cash. The choice is yours and can be changed at anytime. Since I'm trying to make money online, I chose cash payment.

Once your lens is up and running, you'll want stats on your progress. The stats will give the lens rank, the freshness of your lens and how many times it's been flagged. If you want to go indepth, click on "watch your stats". You'll find the summary, which includes overall rank, category rank and highest rank achieved.

Do you want to know how much traffic your lens is getting? Traffic up to 30 days is there for your viewing. If you want to find out where the traffic is coming from, the stats will give you the source. It also goes as far as to give the name of the source.

For you affiliate product, the number of clickouts are included. Want to find out if you made money from your Amazon or Ebay modules? Check you royalty payments.

Getting links for you lens is an ongoing process. To start, get a blog, write about your product and link to your squidoo lens. Write an article or two, link it to your lens. I've found clipclip.org a good site to a link to my squidoo lens. Other ways are joining a forum and leaving comments on similar blogs.

I'll state it again, Squidoo is a great way to make money online. The features alone are worth the time to set up the lens. You don't have to stop with one lens, make as many as possible. If you're reading this post, your goal is to earn an income online. Start making money using squidoo lens.

I have been researching and researching for months now. I decided to get back in the game of internet marketing, and had to play catch up. What does this mean? It means I had to re-educate myself on ways to make money online. In my research, squidoo sites kept popping up everywhere. I wasn't interested.

What did interested me, blogging. A free blog is the way to go when you'll on a budget. I have something to say and blogging is my means to say it.

I've found another way to voice my opinion, give information, and even make a buck. It's called squidoo and it's free. Squidoo is a one page website that focuses on one topic. These pages are called lens. The author of the squidoo lens is called a lensmaster. There are several lens on the first page of google's search engine. Since my primary goal is to make money online, I checked out the money making lens. This led into optimizing your squidoo lens which led into marketing your affiliate products on squidoo. One lens, one product, hey, I think I'm a squidoo fan!!!

I've found myself reading lens after lens. Some of the lensmasters even had a blog about, guess what, squidoo lens. I decided to make a lens to market my affiliate product, Six Figure Yearly. I found this one page website suits my needs perfectly. I can update this page once a week on information that is relevant to my topic.

This lens is easier to set up when you have the information on hand. Here are some of the modules you will find to make your lens.

URL: What is your lens about. Let's say you want to write about "how to make money with affiliate marketing". Your squidoo lens could be "www.squidoo.com/affiliate marketing to make money". Note: If your chosen URL is already being used by another lensmaster, you will have to use a different version. Don't trash the name entirely; use dashes or combine the words into a phrase.

Lens Title: What are you writing about? Remember, squidoo lens are for specific topics. How about, "Affiliate Marketing:How To Find Products With High Payouts".

Intro Text: This consist of the Lens Intro Title, Table of Content and Discovery
Tool. Under the Intro Title you will again use a title to tie in with your lens title and your URL. "Affiliate Marketing:Legitimate Products With High Payouts", sounds good. Also under the Intro Title is the description portion. Tell your readers what your lens is about. You'll find that you can upload a photo under this module. The Table of Content is the list of your list modules used. These modules include but is not all, the text module title, Flickr Photos, Feedback, and Amazon. The Discovery Tool gives you a choice of accepting or denying traffic from other squidoo lens.

Text/Write Module: Give your module a title. Reminder: use keywords that are relevant to your Lens Intro Title, Lens Title and your URL. One short line is the rule for the text title. Let's try, "Affiliate Marketing:High Payout Products". Every good title needs a subtitle. Well, you could use "Affiliate Marketing:High Clickbank Payout Products". In your body text, discuss your topic in detail. Are you giving a solution to a problem, providing information, or even giving a product review? It's all up to you. You can upload images into your text/write module.

A basic idea of what squidoo is and what it can do is what you have. You will love the photo and image features included. The hardest part I've had so far is uploading a photo for my bio.
