"Carson Palmer" New Oakland Raiders Press Conference video

2011-10-19T08:14:00.000-07:00

The Oakland Raiders are not saying that if his new quarterback, Carson Palmer, acquired Tuesday in a trade with the Cincinnati Bengals will start this weekend against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Palmer and head coach Hue Jackson held a press conference Tuesday night, Jackson asked: Is Carson will start against the Chiefs this weekend?

"You think I'm going to say now?" Jackson said. "You know me a little better than that. You try, all of you to try. I'm not going to let out of the bag yet. You have to be ready for anything from me, I think you know. Let's see how we move forward through the week exactly where we are. "

Anyway, not a bad situation for the Chiefs. On the one hand, it clearly could get a less talented quarterback Kyle Boller on. On the other hand, you could get a quarterback who has been on the team for five days.

The first letter arrives, and is a glowing report of life in the countryside, a nice apartment, great food, beautiful women. Then he concludes: "The only thing you can not get is red ink."

Mr. Zizek also offered some practical advice. Given the festive atmosphere in the park, said, "Do not fall in love with themselves. The carnivals are cheap." Meaningful work is what comes next.
He led the discussion off the table the Cold War between communism and capitalism, noting that the former communists, especially in China, "are today the most efficient, brutal capitalists."
The communist revolution "not quite" he said, suggesting that "the only way they are communists, is that we care for the common good," citing the environment as an example.
Mr. Zizek suggests that the left "abandon certain taboos," including hard work, discipline and following orders, if consistent with the agreed objectives. And he advocated for the recovery of certain notions that had been adopted by the right, including family values.

A New Sarah Palin "Julianne Moore"

2011-10-06T04:15:00.000-07:00

Move over, Tina Fey. There's a new Sarah Palin impressions of the city. And on that same note, move more, Kathy Griffin. There's a new redhead in Hollywood to antagonize (without realizing it, this time) the Palin clan.
Believe it or not, Julianne Moore has been chosen as the hope of one-time vice president in the game change, the new HBO film tells John McCain (spoiler alert, if you just emerged from a coma three years) unsuccessful 2008 presidential campaign.
So what Palin thinks about his new doppelgänger?
Unsurprisingly, Palin has issued a no-comment on the coup of casting (although we think that should be quite flattered), and, as expected, the Moore camp has only gone so far as to openly confirm that the Oscar nominee has accepted the role, but made no further comment. And while much has been and will be made about their political differences, eh, it's called acting for a reason, people.
So far, none of the other parts have been cast, but expect a little more WTF moments in its future: the role remains open include McCain, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, among others. Perhaps the desire of the president of Will Smith to play it will come true after all?

Sarah Palin is not running for president

2011-10-06T03:05:00.000-07:00

According to the ABC News
Sarah Palin is not running for president. She made the announcement in a letter to supporters Wednesday night.

Read Palin’s letter here:

October 5, 2011 Wasilla, Alaska After much prayer and serious consideration, I have decided that I will not be seeking the 2012 GOP nomination for President of the United States. As always, my family comes first and obviously Todd and I put great consideration into family life before making this decision. When we serve, we devote ourselves to God, family and country. My decision maintains this order.

My decision is based upon a review of what common sense Conservatives and Independents have accomplished, especially over the last year. I believe that at this time I can be more effective in a decisive role to help elect other true public servants to office – from the nation’s governors to Congressional seats and the Presidency. We need to continue to actively and aggressively help those who will stop the “fundamental transformation” of our nation and instead seek the restoration of our greatness, our goodness and our constitutional republic based on the rule of law.

From the bottom of my heart I thank those who have supported me and defended my record throughout the years, and encouraged me to run for President. Know that by working together we can bring this country back – and as I’ve always said, one doesn’t need a title to help do it.

I will continue driving the discussion for freedom and free markets, including in the race for President where our candidates must embrace immediate action toward energy independence through domestic resource developments of conventional energy sources, along with renewables. We must reduce tax burdens and onerous regulations that kill American industry, and our candidates must always push to minimize government to strengthen the economy and allow the private sector to create jobs.

Those will be our priorities so Americans can be confident that a smaller, smarter government that is truly of the people, by the people, and for the people can better serve this most exceptional nation.

In the coming weeks I will help coordinate strategies to assist in replacing the President, re-taking the Senate, and maintaining the House.

Thank you again for all your support. Let’s unite to restore this country!

God bless America.

– Sarah Palin

Jacoby Ellsbury: Amazing Saving the Boston season

2011-09-26T08:52:00.000-07:00

Jacoby Ellsbury was already among the leading candidates for AL MVP award. Sunday he may have cemented its place as the top.

His two home runs in the first game of a day-night double-header was impressive enough, given the vaulted him into uncharted territory as the first Boston Red Sox's player to reach 30-30 combo in home runs and steals in the same season.

But of course, the final stroke - came in the nightcap, when Ellsbury three-run blast off Scott Proctor in the 14th round as the winning margin in the Red Sox's 7-4 victory over - and the device could have saved Boston season New York Yankees.

A loss would have dropped Boston into a tie with Tampa Bay Rays for the wild card and further demoralized a team that can not seem to do anything right, since its September 6 to 18 records and 17 errors in 12 games testify.
As the Red Sox have a one-game lead into their final series of the year at Camden Yards against the Baltimore Orioles, as they have defeated nine of 15 times.
"It's huge," second baseman Dustin Pedroia said. "Many people wrote to us and we will play hard."
Rays host the Yankees the next three nights.
Yankees won easily the opener of a double-header that showed up several MVP candidates from the AL RBI leader Curtis Granderson and Robinson Cano have a convincing case for the Yankees and Ellsbury and Adrian Gonzalez for the Red Sox.
Among those calling for Ellsbury the brightest of the FAR. He went a combined 5-for-11 with three runs and five RBI on the day.
"This was a huge win," Ellsbury said after five hours, 11 minutes nightcap, which was closed at 11:43. "It allows us to control our own destiny. We know that if we win out, we are in. So we do not scoreboard watch or anything like that.''
Ellsbury leads majors in total bases with 356, and the five-RBI day gave him 103 for the season despite the fact that all but 39 of his 646 at-bats have come out of the leadoff spot.

"Over the last twelve weeks we have been in the field trial, and during that time we have heard and learned a lot. We are far from done, but with the improvements we have done so now we're ready to move from field to test beta, and present our feature # 100:. Open registration "

To increase exposure to the public presentation of its new social network, Google has placed a notice on its website users to link + Google. When users click the link, it launches the Google website + and directs the user through the registration process. The announcement, a huge blue animated arrow is drawn through the Google home page, it is impossible to ignore. When a user moves the mouse over the blue arrow, the popup window the following appears: "You are invited to join Google +".
The Google + social network quickly reached a user base of approximately 25 million active users during the invitation-only beta testing. Although Google + seamlessly integrates with other Google services and provides users with virtually unlimited photo and video storage, the new social network has many limitations that can impede growth. However, today's big announcement indicates that Google's commitment to Google + and deployment of more than 100 new options is more likely to attempt to improve the social network and draw users away from Facebook.
In an effort to combat fatigue "Facebook," Facebook is fast launch of new features and trying to consolidate its position as the dominant market leader in social media.
The competition between Facebook and Google + is to stimulate continued innovation and, indeed, the unity of both companies to continuously develop and offer better features for end users

Spartacus Season 3 to Premiere in 2012

2011-09-24T07:21:00.000-07:00

Yes, indeed. Those of us who are Spartacus: Gods of the Arena fans will now have to wait until January 2012 for season 3 to start Spartacus!

One reason for the long hiatus is that the title character, Spartacus, who was played by Andy Whitfield was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma and ended up leaving the show after season one final recording. Starz did not even know if there would be another season. While trying to understand if season 2 was going to happen, he decided to tape Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, which do not contain the Spartacus.

Meanwhile, a new Spartacus, the actor Liam McIntyre was elected and take the sword instead of Whitfield.

Creator Steven S. DeKnight told Entertainment Weekly that the scope of Season 3 is "far greater than anything we've done before - and some most beloved characters could suffer the fate of Batiatus.

Spartacus: Gods of the Arena will probably hit the DVD stores in September, just months before the season 3 will air. Until then, Starz is to keep our attention new Camelot series that starts in April ... but can be an hour ahead from here.

Space junk is plummeting toward Earth

2011-09-23T07:18:00.000-07:00

We know that at least one person has been beaten by space junk. Her name is Lottie Williams was hit by a piece of a Delta II rocket that fell to earth in 1997.

His encounter with space debris that occurred in a park in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was walking with friends at night, admiring the fireball that streaked across the sky. Shortly afterwards, he felt a tap on the shoulder and heard something hit the ground behind her.

That "something" was a small piece of cloth and metal that weighed as much as an empty can. The analysis by several independent laboratories confirmed that a rocket had been falling. It must have been his lucky day, as the risk of being beaten by space junk is 1 in 3,200.

Mr. Paul, a congressman from Texas, none of the bravado of his Republican presidential rivals

2011-08-12T01:09:00.000-07:00

WATERLOO, Iowa - Ron Paul, none of the bravado of his Republican presidential rivals. At a town hall meeting here on Wednesday afternoon, he spoke for 35 minutes and then immediately apologized. "Hopefully I have not scared you off," Mr. Paul, a congressman from Texas, said in a soft voice and a characteristic shoulder.

Not likely.

In his second consecutive run for the Republican nomination, Mr. Paul is better known, better organized and on track for what could be a top-three finish at the Ames straw poll on Saturday.

"I'm not predicting, I know we can win or something," Mr. Paul told a room of about 75 people in this town in northeastern Iowa.

In fact, rival campaigns suggest that they believe that Mr. Paul was the straw poll win, on the strength of his support among libertarians, students and an increasing number of traditional Republicans who are beginning to agree with the years of criticism Mr. Paul's public spending and federal debt.

Asked if he felt justified because of the warnings he had long preached of a coming debt crisis for the country feels, he said he was not on the agenda to gloat. "I do not think you need to toot your own horn," he said.

His son, Rand, a freshman senator from Kentucky, disagrees.

"We need to gloat," says Senator Paul, campaigning in Iowa with his father. "The slogan for the campaign should be," Ron Paul was right! "

Attending a Ron Paul event is not so very different from attending a lecture on the history and economy. For more than a half hour, Mr. Paul discussed the history of the gold standard, Eisenhower spoke of the election and its impact on the nation's foreign policy and railed against U.S. involvement in global conflicts.

Really, he got applause and expressions of approval.

"Yes sir!" One man screamed as Mr. Paul insisted that he as president would pull America out of the United Nations.

Asked to respond to Republican voters who might think that he can not win in a head-to-head race against Obama, Mr Paul dismissed the concern, saying that voters do not fear that a vote for him is a lost voice.

"Wasting a vote may vote for someone you do not really believe in," he said.
