The Glory Whole

Any Dragon Ball Z fans out there?

2012-01-27T10:13:00.000+11:00

Anime is a pretty popular sub-culture in this day and age and really I cant say I haven't jumped onto that bandwagon. Me personally I cant't help getting into debates about certain aspects of anime such as plot or character development especially in the dragon ball series as well as other anime such as bleach and death note. Anyway as I always say feel free to converse and ask questions and for all DBZ fans take a look at this cool video I found of a cover of the original opening theme.

Hello Everyone.
Today it has been revealed that the story of the Australian Prime Minister being attacked yesterday has a continuation, as the Indigenous protesters have taken a shoe that the Prime Minister lost during the struggle into safety. The protesters have now claimed it as a trophy and are selling this shoe on Ebay to raise funds for their tent embassy in the Country's capital in Canberra.
The Lolz continue :D For more info of this new story visit: Missing Shoe?

Remembering my Childhood (90's)

2012-01-26T21:46:00.002+11:00

For most individuals their childhood and a special, sacred and precious time in their lives. If possible I would like everyone who visits the site to mention a favourite time, item of their childhood and explain why. This really brings the past to life as people present their individual ideas and details to what may have been in reality a plain and simple experience.

I'll start today by talking about my first hand held video game console a light blue Game boy colour and my first game Pokemon Red. This gaming set was my inner child's dream come true. I remember the price of both game and console being priced at $150 and my parents always saying maybe for your birthday, for a 5 year old child the notion of not getting something that you want really is painstaking.

However the day finally came, my 6th birthday, which now as hard as I think about it thats the only thing I can actually remember about my 6th birthday. Anyway I spent hours and hours of time trying to catch all the pokemon, buying hint books from stores and asking all of my friends to trade, due to the lack of the internet. But no matter how hard I tried I never was able to finish that game by catching them all. But I'm glad I didn't because all you ended up getting was an onscreen diploma. Anyway that was one of my childhood stories, feel free to share one of your own.

For the first bit of news

2012-01-26T21:11:00.001+11:00

Today, as many Australians would know is Australia day. This day recognises the discovery of Australia for the Western world by Captain Cook over 200 years ago. However for the indigenous people who occupied the lanf before British discovery it is a day recognised as the beginning of the end of their natural lifestyle, culture and welbeing. As the British brought along disease, land ownership, alcohol and weaponry, which often was used against them for British self gain.

Now for the news today, the Prime Minister of Australia Julia Gillard was attacked by a group of around 200 angry Indigenous protesters, the complete reasoning and motives behind this attack aren't completely known, however it is reported that there were shouting of words such as 'racist' and 'shame' by the protesters towards the Prime Minister. This may suggest a civil unrest between the celebration of Australia day within the Indigenous community of today, and frankly I don't blame them. If an occurence like the stealing of a defenceless community's property and the murder, slavery and prostituion of its people would occur during this day and age. There would be all out war from numerous nations. Even though this group's actions were indeed committed wrongly, I still can't help chuckle about the situation, government officials cant ignore what their ancestors have done to these people.
