In Late March 2013, Joey Bada$$ & the Pro Era alongside The Flatbush Zombies & The Underachievers embarked on The Beast Coastal Tour, spanning across the U.S. & Canada. During the final week, FADER TV got on the bus to document the last days of the tour and the crew’s return home to NYC which culminated in two sold-out shows.

The way Joey and the Pro Era guys command the stage, seamlessly passing the mic and ad-libbing for each other, you almost forget they’re mostly teenagers. When we met, though, they were playing Marco Polo at the hotel pool. Everyone was sick with something; they had bronchitis or strep or whatever disease you catch when you eat pizza every day and live on an RV with 10 other people. Despite their depressed immune systems, the crew was enamored with life on tour, balancing homesickness—missing their grandmas, bicycles and beds—with their youthful restlessness and thirst for exploration.

Charlotte Bobcats will Return to Hornets in 2014-15 Season

As long as the Charlotte Bobcats have been the Bobcats, they haven’t been a very good basketball team. In fact, that is grossly understated. Plain and simple, its been an awful stint for the organization. Since their inception as an expansion team in 2004 after the Charlotte Hornets relocated to New Orleans, they’ve never had a winning season and have been somewhat the laughing-stock of the league. But now that the New Orleans Hornets have established a new moniker, the Pelicans, team owner Michael Jordan has announced that Charlotte will return to its original expansion team name originated back in 1988-89 season, the Hornets.

Looking back to a time where wins were more frequent, all-stars were in greater numbers, and buzz surrounding the team were far superior than today, the Bobcats will return to their original name at the start of the 2014-15 NBA season. This welcomed change will hopefully help restore the relevance to the franchise. Jordan hopes to bring back the energy the Hornets once had while also looking for a new head coach and picking up a few key players in the coming 2013 NBA Draft. Exciting, right? Here’s to hoping for another duo like Alonzo Mourning and the ever popular Larry Johnson aka Grandmama.

2012-13 All-NBA Teams Announced

After a dramatic finish in Game 1 of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals that saw LeBron James prove why he’s the league MVP, today the association unveiled the players who made the coveted All-NBA teams. With three five man rosters in all, the names showcase a who’s who of NBA All-Stars, many of which won gold during last year’s London Olympic Games. As you would expect, LeBron led all vote getters for his spot on the first team alongside Kobe Bryant, Chris Paul, Kevin Durant, and the age defying 37-year old Tim Duncan. Kobe’s 11th selection to the All-NBA first team ties him with Karl Malone for the most all-time.

The All-NBA second team was full of Jordan Brand athletes like Blake Griffin, Russell Westbrook, Carmelo Anthony, followed by San Antonio Spur Tony Parker and the leagues defensive player of the year Marc Gasol. And while they are the final All-NBA team, the third group is no pushover featuring David Lee, Paul George, Dwight Howard, Dewayne Wade and Houston Rockets star James Harden. Six of these stars are still playing in the conference finals. Make sure to keep your eyes on the NBA’s elite throughout the remainder of the playoffs.

Jay-Z Signs Geno Smith To Roc Nation Sports

Jay-Z continues to expand his Roc Nation Sports roster, recently signing New York Jets rookie quarterback Geno Smith.

The 39th overall pick in the second round, Smith becomes just the third athlete added to Hov's sports management company. Despite having a big name like Jay-Z behind you as a manager, Smith says he plans to remain humble and focus on what's important: football.

"I think it's just [Jay-Z's] agency," said Smith. "When you talk about being in New York, from a standpoint of what they can do in the city, the connections that they have, I think it's a good move. My mother and my family is comfortable with it, I'm comfortable with it. I'm just going to move on from there, not let it be a big deal, remain humble and keep focusing on football."

The Roc Nation Sports roster includes New York Yankees player Robinson Cano and WNBA star Skylar Diggins, who was recently gifted with a Mercedes Benz from the agency for graduating from Norte Dame.
