Dinner

Make an evening of it and come early for dinner (6pm)! Help support the varsity girl's basketball team and enjoy a great meal and fun times with friends. Tickets are $10/person ($4 for kids under 10 years old) and may be purchased through Thursday evening by contacting cynthia@thunderheadtesting.com for tickets.

Devotion

Worship music will be provided by NOAH athletes. Our speaker is our own Ted Davis. Ted is a former Tulsa Driller pitcher and 7th round draft pick of the Texas Rangers. He played 8 years in the minor leagues while reaching the AAA level. His current ministry is baseball chapel at Bentley park in Bixby. Ted coached girls basketball at NOAH for several years and held the position as Athletic Director. He is dad to varsity basketball player Sarah and Coach Staci Davis. Happily married 34 years to Tricia Davis.

NOAH Boys Basketball Varsity Tryouts

NOAH Boys Junior Varsity/Varsity Basketball will be holding tryouts on Tuesday, August 11th and Thursday, August 13th at Christian Chapel Gym from 7:30-9:30pm.

There is no cost required to attend but there will be a $200 payment toward the players fees required at the time of announcing the rosters. Rosters should be announced within two weeks of the tryouts. Bring your basketball skills ready to show Head Coach Pooh Williams what you've got.

Stephen Bell has been a part of the NOAH family for two years serving as a coach with our elementary basketball teams. He has a heart to share Christ and encourage young people through sports. For the past ten years, Stephen has served as a Bible study teacher and is presently serving as an eighth grade teacher at First Baptist Church of Broken Arrow. For twelve years, he coached at both the college and high school levels and for the last nine years has worked with a pharmaceutical company. Stephen and his wife, Lorie, have been happily married for eighteen years. They have been blessed with four children and are in the process of adopting a little one from China.

New Girls Varsity Coach

NOAH's Basketball Athletic Director, Scott Beasler, has announced that Nicholas Ruffin Sr. will be taking the helm as the Girls Varsity Basketball Head Coach.

Coach Ruffin, 31, is originally from Chicago, Illinois. He and his family have lived in Tulsa for almost three years. Ruffin is a leader at one of our local customer care call centers. He and his wife, Angela, have six children.

In Illinois, Ruffin coached several years at the varsity/JV level. He has also served as a volunteer, coaching a 13/14 year old and 9/10 year old boys team for the local Dickenson YMCA program.

“I'm excited to be the new Lady Jaguars Head Coach. I want to thank Scott and the NOAH Board of Directors for the opportunity to lead the Lady Jaguars. My family and I are thrilled about being a part of the NOAH community."

Coach Ruffin is currently completing his Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Leadership at Ohio Christian University.

Steps to do BEFORE the meeting:

1.       Visit the Noah website to REGISTER before the meeting (http://noahjags.org/basketball-kick-off-meeting/) - This will involve entering player/parent information, reading the NOAH Code of Conduct and Eligibility information in the NOAH Handbook posted online, entering uniform information (Elementary and JH).
2.       If your player will be wearing an existing jersey, have your player TRY ON their uniform to make sure it fits!!
3.       Bring completed Physical form to meeting.

At the meeting:

1.       Sign Parent Release Form (one parent needs to be present at meeting)
2.       Pay Fees – checks to “NOAH Basketball”
3.       Pay for uniform (if necessary - $55 for Elementary/JH uniforms, no payment for varsity/JV – NO uniforms will be ordered without payment)

Chad Boss, a long-time NOAH coach, leader, and parent passed away last Saturday. He and his family were a big part of the development and growth of NOAH, especially the basketball program. The NOAH basketball community send our condolences to the family.

Sam Mather has a heart to reach this generation with God’s transforming power. He has worked in evangelism and discipleship for 15+ years and has seen God’s power transform so many lives. His joy is to empower the Body of Christ to “give reason for the hope that lies within them,” and truly know what they believe and be able to articulate “why” in a culturally relevant way that brings the gospel of Christ in focus. Throughout the week, Sam’s schedule is packed with preaching, individual discipleship, and leading bible studies in the Tulsa area. Sam’s charisma and passion has inspired countless youth to abandon themselves to God. His desire is for those he works with to grow into the men and women God is calling them to be – to truly LIVE in this life. As a couple, Sam and his wife Lyndie are packed with vision for revival in our nation and they are excited to share the love of Christ with all those they come in contact with. They actively lead and coordinate Trojan’s For Christ at Jenks Middle School and Kids for Christ in the Tulsa area, working with parents and teachers to help young people find God and stay faithful to Him through the pressures of life. Sam along with his brother Todd Mather are pastors of Cross Creek Church in Bixby.

One of our Varsity Boy's assistant coaches, Jon Adams, is the children's pastor at The Kirk here in Tulsa. He is inviting any elementary age kids to join him at VBS this June. Read all the details below.

Ages: 3 years- entering 5th grade

Cost: $5 per child

VBS at The Kirk is going to be an incredible experience for the kids. The theme this year is "Living Inside Out". We are covering the parables that Jesus told and how we can take the principles from those stories and put them into practice in our everyday lives. I will have the privilege and honor of leading the large group time along with a great guy Cole Proffit. I strongly encourage you to come! We would love to have you be a part of this week. We will also have a family experience on Thursday evening for you to come join and see what the kids have been experiencing all week and learning.
