Remember the days of old when Grandmother strapped a warm mustard pack to our congested chests when we had a cold? Or used a warmed tea bag to rid pink eye, a clove of garlic to stop an earache, or prepared a mixture of chaparral and olive oil as a cure for itchy skin? I do.

For instance, witch doctor type practices such as hanging herbs that resembled tears around a child's neck to help him cut teeth. "Reading" tea leaves to foretell future love interests, and assertions like placing certain spices under the pillow would improve memory, prejudiced many toward the genuine curative uses of herbs.

That is why some modern day practitioners regard the medicinal use of herbs as "quackery;" nothing more than old-wives tales. There are, however, a growing number of otherwise conventional medical professionals who acknowledge what Grandmother knew all along. To highlight this fact, let's take a look at the multiple medicinal uses of just one herb, commonly regarded as a noxious or disposable weed.

Sometimes found intercropped with corn and wheat in the Midwest United States, common burdock grows wild and vies for the sun and nutrients of the soil. Though routinely overlooked as a native weed, it nevertheless has the potential to gift the bearer greater health and ease skin afflictions when harvested for its root.

In the herbal world, burdock is unsurpassed as a blood purifier. It is also the "king" of herbs in treating chronic skin problems such as eczema, acne, psoriasis, boils, syphilitic sores, and canker sores.

Make a medicinal tea by bringing 1 quart of water to a boil. Reduce heat. Add 4 teaspoons cut, dried burdock root. Cover and simmer for 7 minutes. Remove from heat and let steep for 2 hours. Drink a minimum of 2 cups a day on an empty stomach, or more if problem persists. This concoction can also be made in a larger quantity and used topically to wash affected skin areas as needed.

Mixed with catnip and made into a tea, burdock root is effective in clearing up stubborn kidney and gallstones. Bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add 2 tablespoons of chopped or cut fresh or dried burdock root. Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes. Remove from heat. Add 3 teaspoons chopped or cut fresh or dried catnip leaf, and let steep for 1 ½ hours, then strain.

For each cup, add 1 teaspoon lemon juice and ½ teaspoon pure maple syrup or blackstrap molasses (to sweeten). Drink slowly. Follow with 1 tablespoon of pure virgin olive oil 10 minutes later.

Repeat this regimen 3 times a day. The tea helps to sooth irritated tissues, and helps break up or partially dissolve the stones. The olive oil acts as a lubricant to expel them from the body more easily. Important to the success of this remedy; digest no greasy, fried foods, soft drinks, refined carbohydrates (such as white flour or white sugar products), red meat, or poultry during the course of this treatment.

Well-known lecturer, author and medical anthropologist, John Heinerman, Ph. D., of Salt Lake City, Utah, recommends the following: take the last cup of tea and spoonful of oil at night before retiring. Sleep on the right side, and prop a pillow under the armpit. Heinerman says this posture seems to expedite the removal of the stones from the body.

Burdock root ground to a powder, when combined with dried red clover and dandelion root and packed in gel capsules, can help clear up acne and blemishes. Take two a day -- morning and evening.

Besides an aid in clearing problem skin when combined with burdock, red clover is also famous as an alternative cancer treatment, and is a natural blood thinner. Dandelion root was hailed as a miracle cure for warts and liver spot remover by the late Will Greer, who portrayed Grandpa Walton on "The Waltons". In addition, Britain's licensed medical herbalist, Dr. David Potterton noted that the high insulin content in dandelion root makes it a good sugar substitute for persons who suffer from diabetes mellitus.

Many herbs have medicinal properties. An infusion made from elder-flower and water makes a mild astringent, and can safely be used for eye baths, while chamomile is excellent for eye compresses for inflammation of the eyelids. Garlic is an excellent natural antibiotic, and immune system builder. Cayenne is beneficial for circulation and stomach ailments. In fact, many of the herbs used for culinary purposes are not only great flavor enhancers, but medicinal as well.

Besides herbs, many vegetables and fruits, especially organic, yield health and medicinal benefits. Celery juice is a natural diuretic and useful for persons with rheumatism or for those who want to lose weight. Cabbage has been shown effective in the fight against duodenal ulcers, and is a good source of calcium for those who must avoid dairy products. Radish is helpful for gall-bladder and liver ailments, and spinach improves the hemoglobin of the blood. Beets are excellent for certain conditions of the liver, and for improving blood hemoglobin.

While undeniably health enhancing, natural or herbal remedies should never be used alongside synthetic or prescription drugs without the prescribing doctor's knowledge. While grapefruit by itself can be effective in reducing high levels of cholesterol, for instance, it isn't recommended in combination with certain prescribed medications also meant to lower cholesterol. In fact, many cholesterol-reducing medications warn not to consume grapefruit while taking that medication.

Because many of nature's offerings do have potent medical and health enhancing properties, become knowledgeable about the benefits and cautions of each. Like any medication, increasing concentrations, doses, or mixing one with another for medicinal purposes could be harmful instead of helpful. And mixing natural/herbal remedies with synthetic/prescription medications is not recommended, unless prescribed by a doctor as an enhancement.

Instead of rebelling against nature, we can become more in tune with the gifts endowed by nature. The same health laws that apply to the animal kingdom also apply to man. This is a little off the subject but it absolutely drives me crazy!
I find it to be not only totally disgusting but also quite funny that ads from "Big Pharma" are being displayed on my blog!
Especially when you consider the fact I am so anti drug/chemical.
You see the nobel prize was awarded in the very recent past that the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to a European doctor/researcher
who determined all pharmaceuticals cause disease! Now this is something that has been kept from us by our own US Government
because they know the FDA is supported by the pharmaceutical industry, or should I say bribed?
But if you look a little deeper, and a way to do this is to subscribe to a newsletter at Mercola.com,
you will find I am not the only one touting the corruption in the FDA. Funny how they will allow "Big Pharma" to kill 100s of 1000s
of innocent people yet will come down hard on the natural supplement industry and "Big Pharma" can make literally millions of
dollars off the blood of innocent humans before they raise an eyebrow! Guess they understand about "Biting the hand that feeds you" huh?
My Advice is as I ALWAYS do, seek alternative natural solutions before you resort to synthetic druds that have proven beyond a shadow
of doubt they cause more harm than good!

The main principles governing the pharmaceutical “business with disease.” It is not in the financial interests of the pharmaceutical industry to prevent common diseases – the maintenance and expansion of diseases is a precondition for the financial growth of this industry.

4 The marketplace for the pharmaceutical industry is the human body – but only for as long as the body hosts diseases. Thus, maintaining and expanding diseases is a precondition for the growth of the pharmaceutical industry.

5 A key strategy to accomplish this goal is the development of drugs that merely mask symptoms while avoiding the curing or elimination of diseases.

This explains why most prescription drugs marketed today have no proven efficacy and merely target symptoms.

6 To further expand their pharmaceutical market, the drug companies are continuously looking for new applications (indications) for the use of drugs they already market. For example, Bayer’s pain pill Aspirin is now taken by 50 million healthy US citizens under the illusion it will prevent heart attacks.

7 Another key strategy to expand pharmaceutical markets is to cause new diseases with drugs. While merely masking symptoms short term, most of the prescription drugs taken by millions of patients today cause a multitude of new diseases as a result of their known long-term side effects. For example, all cholesterol-lowering drugs currently on the market are known to increase the risk of developing cancer – but only after the patient has been taking
the drug for several years.

8 The known deadly side effects of prescription drugs are the fourth leading cause of death in the industrialized world, surpassed only by the number of deaths from heart attacks, cancer and strokes (Journal of the American Medical Association,April 15, 1998). This fact is no surprise either, because drug patents are primarily issued for new synthetic molecules.

12 Throughout the more than one hundred year existence of the pharmaceutical industry, vitamins and other essential nutrients, with defined functions as cofactors in cellular metabolism, have been the fiercest competition and the greatest threat to the long-term success of the pharmaceutical investment business.

13 Vitamins and other effective natural health therapies that effectively prevent diseases are incompatible with the very nature of the pharmaceutical “business with disease.”

14 To protect the strategic development of its investment business against the threat from effective, natural and non-patentable therapies, the pharmaceutical industry has – over an entire century - used the most unscrupulous methods, such as:

(1) Withholding life-saving health information from millions of people.

It is simply unacceptable that today so few know that the human body cannot produce vitamin C and lysine, two key molecules for connective tissue stability and disease prevention.

(2) Discrediting natural health therapies. The most common way is through global PR campaigns organized by the Pharma-Cartel that spread lies about the alleged side effects of natural substances – molecules that have been used by Nature for millennia.

(3) Banning by law the dissemination of information about natural health therapies. To that end, the pharmaceutical industry has placed its lobbyists in key political positions in key markets and leading drug export nations.

15 The pharmaceutical “business with disease” is the largest deception and fraud business in human history. The product “health” promised by drug companies is not delivered to millions of patients. Instead, the “products” most often delivered are the opposite: new diseases and frequently, death.

16) The survival of the pharmaceutical industry is dependent on the elimination by any means of effective natural health therapies. These natural and non-patentable therapies have become the treatment of choice for millions of people despite the combined economic, political and media opposition of the world’s largest investment industry.

We live in the greatest country in the world
If this is true why is it that the cars and trucks we drive are today are NOT getting much better mileage then they were 30 years ago?
GREED! CORPORATE GREED!
Think about it, really think about it. Look around at what is going on, stop believing everything you see and hear on TV and for once use your head and think for yourself...logically.
If we are such a great country of very intelligent minds why can we not be getting 100 miles per gallon today? Why would our President encourage American auto manufacturers to produce more gas guzzling SUVs? Think about it. Can you not see the correlation? His family has benefitted from the oil industry for more than 30 years. And this is not about George Bush; it is much larger than that! It is about corporate greed! Disgusting, repulsive, shameful corporate greed! Think about it, if our vehicles were really running the way they should be we should be getting 100 miles per gallon of fossil fuel! I know many of you can not wrap your minds around the concept that our government would deceive us for money or encourage a large corporation to not be the best they can be to benefit the little people of this country. But the writing is on the wall and the majority of Americans can not read what is so obvious, they do not want to believe the truth! But the fact is if we stop using fossil fuels to energize this nation who would it hurt? If we cut our consumption 50% who would be hurt? Not me, not you, it would cut into the deep pockets of the oil mongers (our government), the auto manufacturers, who have failed to share with us the technology that has really been around for many years that would because they are in bed with the oil companies that certainly reward them for making autos that only improve a miniscule of efficiency from year to year. And of course our feds would suffer if they were not collecting all the tax revenue from fuel consumption by us, the little people that make this a great country! On top of that they have allowed this to go on for so long our entire planet is suffering from the pollution! Think about it!
Step outside the box and use your head! These are people that will do ANYTHING at all costs to preserve their riches. And they are very successful at duping the American public through mainstream media. Why? Because we are ignorant! The American public is ignorant! Do you know the meaning of the word ignorant? It is the lack of knowledge. It is not necessarily a bad thing. You can not possibly now everything but now with the internet you can gain knowledge about anything you desire. You can find things previously hidden, facts they do not want us to know. Think about it, if some guy piddling around in his garage can figure a way to extract hydrogen from water and power a car and increase increase his mileage 20-30-40-50% even maybe running 100% on water do you not think our own government geniuses could replicate or refine the process to help our country, our planet?
We have the greatest scientists in the world, the best laboratories! Why have they not? Why has this not been perfected by the auto manufacturers? Why has our Government not encouraged this research? You do not have to be real smart to see the big picture. They do not want us to know.
They can not continue lining their pockets with our hard earned money when we are using water to run our vehicles! They do not want us to know, keeping us ignorant keeps their pockets full. Instilling fear in us keeps us distracted from the truth. Being ignorant and not thinking for ourselves is just making them richer. Many people have mysteriously died for their creative application of alternative fuels; many people have become wealthy because they sold out to corporate greed to suppress their research which proved much better sources of energy, all to preserve the riches of the few, while the rest of us suffer the consequences of their greed. In the 70's a man here in Arkansas developed a carburetor the produced over 70 miles per gallon in a 350 cid V8, he sold out with the promise of never revealing his amazing results! You and I probably would too for several million! Read now what a disgruntled engineer revealed about Ford Motor Company!

In 1997, an engineer working at a US Ford company plant witnessed a 351 cid V8 started at about 4:30 pm. with a 1 liter bottle of fuel forming an exactly measured amount. The next morning when he went to the factory floor, that engine was still running and had only consumed about one third of the one liter bottle. On asking about the fuel consumption, he was shown a display that read, "248.92 miles per gallon". He was shocked and said, "This must be a mistake" but the engineer said that it was true. He then asked when they would have it ready to be put in a new Ford; he was told that he would not see it in his lifetime. This is company policy and has nothing to do with engineering which is easily capable of this level of performance. That 249 miles per US gallon is 298 miles per European gallon since the European gallon is 20% bigger than the US gallon.
There have been more than 200 patents granted for high-mpg carburetors. These designs all give between 100 and 250 miles per gallon on a US gallon of fuel. Not a single one of these designs has made it to the marketplace due to the fanatical opposition of the oil companies. Last year, the Shell oil company posted typical earnings for the year, which showed that that one (typical) oil company made US $3,000,000 profit per hour for every hour of every day of the entire year. Did you enjoy contributing to that profit every time you bought fuel?
Nearly all of these high-mpg carburetor designs convert the fuel to vapor form before it enters the engine. There is no magic about this performance, just good engineering practice. It will probably come as a great surprise to you that the oil companies now put additives into the gasoline sold in the USA. They have 103 varieties of additives and they will explain that these are used to reduce evaporation in summer (as if they care about that!) and combat freezing in the winter. An "unfortunate" side effect of these additives is that they clog up any carburetor which converts the fuel to vapor form. Instead of 200 miles per gallon, it is now quite common for US vehicles to have a 15 miles per gallon performance and that effectively increases the cost per mile by more than ten times.
I am confident that it would be possible to design a high-mpg carburetor which deals with the additive sludge left over when the fuel is converted to vapor. In passing, the present situation gives added encouragement to stop burning oil-based products and switch to electric, compressed air, or water-powered vehicles. That is a perfectly viable option technically, but it would create frantic opposition from the oil companies and most governments which raise massive revenues from taxing oil products. The energy problem is not technical, it is financial and political.
Seems hard to believe huh? That is what they are counting on, YOUR IGNORANCE!
Right here in my home town of Fayetteville, Arkansas I have a friend that is driving a dump truck that has home made hydrogen cells installed. Now instead of refueling every day it has cut back to every other day! This is no bull! This is the truth! As I interact with the people around me everyday, it has come to my attention that not all are blessed with a positive attitude. Now they will argue different but they do not always hear what is coming from their mouths when they speak to others. Which is the exact reason they do not realize how negative they really are,they do not listen,not to themselves nor to others.They have closed their minds,they know it all,what is best for everyone,and will not admit error even when proof is provided,they can never accept that one may know more than they. These poor people do not realize that their crummy mindset attracts the misfortunes in life,the unnecessary drama most of us try to avoid.

A perfect example,two mechanics,each with their own shop,right next door to each other.Each with equal skills,knowledge and tools to tackle ANY job a car or truck,foreign or domestic.no matter what the problem. One has a driveway full of cars waiting to be repaired with others consistently being dropped off daily,so much work he has a waiting list,and the customers are willing to wait,even though there is a perfectly good,equally experienced mechanic next door with an empty driveway. They prefer to wait! Why do you think this is? Well if you spend time with these men as I have the answer is obvious!

The mechanic with the full drive and worked backed up for days is a positive individual. A people person that speaks kindly to all. A man that always smiles and says kind words to others.Something as simple as “I like you because you make the best cup of coffee in town” or ” I like coming here because you always have a smile!”. Simple things,simple seeds,seeds that can have a huge effect on another.Seeds that can boost one morale and confidence,letting them know they are doing a good job of they are brightening someones day with a simple smile,just a simple smile! This man does not talk down to clients when they bring in their broken car,when thy try to explain the noise they heard ,even if it is obvious to him. He is the expert,he knows they came to him because they know that. He treats them like they are a Mercedes owner even if it is a 30 Volkswagen Bug,he sees no difference,they are there because of his expertise but most of all THEY LIKE HIM! And HIS customers come back again and again and again and they consistently send their friends because they now he will take cars of them equally as well.

Now on the other hand you got the guy next door with the empty drive,well ok he has one car in the drive. But today it is because his dad has control of a fleet of vehicles and he chooses to support his son,can’t blame him there,it is his son. But the fact is he will be very lucky today to have another client as he has a minus tattooed on his forehead! All he has done today is bitch and moan about everything and everyone he has encountered so far today. His friends can not even share good fortune with him because it is just not in him to rejoice with someone and celebrate their good fortune. He always has an ugly negative dig for anything good that is not his own. Have never heard this man utter a positive comment about anything! As a matter of fact he is becoming intolerable to me but I feel I have to get through his thick skull about his negativity or I believe he will eventually lose everything,including his wife! Fact is though he does not get repeat clients mainly because he always talks down to them,his approach is so arrogant I do not see how anyone would allow this guy to work on their cars,even though he is a top mechanic,he is a jerk! You can see right through him when you watch him interact with the counter girls at the coffee shop. You can tell who his faves are,he is sweet to them,showering them with compliments and flirts,but to others he is cold and curt. He does not speak to all nor try to encourage anyone with positive input,because you would believe him to believe he is above all.He truly is a jerk! But he can not help it,he does not have a clue! And his business,his whole life is suffering for it!

A second grade teacher once,when her class was a bit unruly,had them all put their books under their desk and pull out a sheet of paper. The assignment she told them is to look around the room a and write down what it is about every classmate that you like.

The class was abuzz with excitement as they looked around the room to begin their task at hand.

She gathered all the papers and took them home that evening and made a sheet for each student containing all the reasons from each and every classmate as to why they liked him or her.

The next morning the pages were passed to each to see why they were liked by their classmates. The remarks heard ran the gamut from “I didn’t know he/she likes me” to “I didn’t know I was good at that!”.

After suffering now for many years working in new homes(I build custom showers of tile and stone),I had finally reached the end of my rope. A week later I had one sitting on the job. First of all,I love the fragrance emitting from the unit. throws around the potentially libelous phrase ".con (Ooops, I
meant .com)" as an attempt at childish humor in order to bash the
firm's name.

What's shocking is that this individual is actually a student of
law (at least that's what he claims) so one would think that he
should perhaps check out the facts before proceeding with such
careless remarks.

After all, he admits severally that he "never even ordered the
ebook" so how could he truly know one way or the other if it was a
valid system - not to mention it is assumed he's at least
reasonably intelligent since (according to him) he got into law
school, that he would be able to see for himself the firm's
Affiliates' ads all over Google, and therefore reason that Google
itself is perhaps the firm's chief supporter.

But stubbornness abounds, I suppose.

Ironically Rob says that the only reason he attacks the firm is
because "it's a no brainer that this must be a scam," and he got
"tired of seeing all those little AdSense ads on his page that
people kept clicking on" (which by the way only stood to make him
lots of M0NEY!) -- yet he accepts donations on his site as a poor,
struggling law student in need of paying for his education, and
rather than legitimately earn an income from AdSense with an
APPROVED Product.

Sadly, Rob actually censors most of his Blog so that others who wish
to post POSITIVES concerning "Get Google Ads Free!" can't even do
so. (But what would you expect from a "wanna-be" lawyer?)

He even posts what appears to be an actual response by the firm's
lawyer, but which is perhaps nothing more than his own posts
disguised and designed to make himself look better (as anyone can
see that the dialogue appears "manufactured" instead of genuine).

What some people will do to project themselves as "Savior to the
rest of us" and "The People's Advocate." How ridiculous indeed.

Despite the "crybaby" from across the pond, Rob Snot (Ooops! I must
have meant Rob Scott!) has failed miserably to put even a dent in
the firm's sales!

Plus, traffic is on the rise shooting up from an average of 14,000
visitors daily to now well above 20,000 visitors daily (an increase
of 42% in daily traffic alone! -- Keep up the good work, Rob!!)

Anyway, don't be dissuaded in your decision to build your online
business by eliminating your Google AdWords costs, as the course

You want to be sure that you are able to change with the times, and that you are able to make these changes without a big problem. A business of any kind, whether online or on-site (“real world”), can be like navigating a mine field, especially where ethics are concerned, so some knowledge of law and a certain degree of fair-mindedness are necessary to conduct business professionally and equitably.Ethics keep business practices well-grounded and focused on what is really important; that is, the customers’ needs and wants come first.

Entrepreneurs must keep themselves informed on the terms of service and the interests of the population. This will allow customers to make informed and therefore confident purchases. No one likes business ventures that are oblivious to what is going on around them or that are behind-in-the-times; shoppers are not likely to feel comfortable with the judgement of those who have absolutely no clue or are doubtful regarding what’s expected and required to satisfactorily answer shoppers’ questions. Deception, or “pulling stuff out of one’s butt,” will not suffice; businesses are likely to be more successful when they stay on top of the research so they can offer honest and current feedback to everyone who needs it. Business representatives who can’t assist shoppers are useless. Taking this extra effort shows shoppers that businesses really do care about the customers.

Fair prices are always the best way to go. Despite what many business owners might think, providing services and merchandise at higher rates will not necessarily guarantee a profit; on the contrary, such outrageous costs will only drive the shoppers to go elsewhere and the business will ultimately lose money. Honesty is the best policy, as the saying goes. Many think that’s a crock, but, in actuality, it isn’t. Those who are open and straightforward about their intentions and offer quality services and merchandise will inevitably find themselves in a successful venture. Why? Simple: shoppers and returning customers will know that businesses that play honestly and fair value them, and the trust factor is increased exponentially. Customers are not stupid, and so they should not be treated as such. Eventually, all underhanded schemes are discovered one way or another, and the scarred reputation that businesses acquire from such bad dealings will eventually lead to a downfall.

There are many ethical situations that lead behavior in business every single day. Knowing what they are and letting them lead the way through every circumstance will make interactions easier and more fulfilling. Such honesty and integrity will always leave a pleasant, trusting and indelible impression on everyone involved.

Capitalism and Why it Works

For the last ten years (and frankly, for years before that), the debate has raged between those who feel like capitalism is the strongest and best form of a country’s marketplace system, and those that would prefer a form of strict, true socialism. Though it exists today in truncated form, socialism has never been fully in place in any country. The true, Lenin and Marx version of the venerated institution has never come out to play in the utopian society that it supposedly promises. And therein lays the problem. Though nothing is stopping a system like socialism from flourishing and creating the ideal society, it has simply never worked. Capitalism, on the other hand, while not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, has worked and continues to work in many of the world’s strongest nations. Why is this?

First, let’s examine what capitalism is. It is basically a free market. Nothing (or as few things as possible) is generated or paid for by the government, and thus is free of most government restrictions. With this system, competition becomes king. When the state doesn’t mandate a certain service be used, there will naturally be a fight for the service. In theory, the consumer winds in this situation. Lower prices, better service, and on and on. Of course, it doesn’t always work out that way, but it does tend to work out in the favor of the consumer. Sometimes, however, there is disagreement over what the consumer wants most. But that is another benefit of a free market system. There may have to be a king, but that doesn’t make the king the only game in town (and when it does, the government usually will step in). There will always be the benefit of choice. Don’t like the prices or service at Best Buy? Circuit City is just across the street.

This is, of course, a simplification, but the advent of capitalism and a free market world has led to a dramatic increase in the Gross National Product of many countries around the world. This is, of course, proof in itself that the system works and is the best system in place today. Like democracy (or a republic, as our system really is), there may be better systems out there; we just haven’t found them yet.

Of course, that’s not to say that capitalism isn’t without its fair share of detractors, and not to say that these detractors don’t have some reasonable things to say. There are even religious concerns with some tenets of capitalism. Some forms of religion, for instance, look down upon and forbid the lending of money with interest, a key component of out capitalistic society. Others look at a widening gap between the have’s and the have-nots and see something that is seriously out of whack. But the opportunity, proponents argue, is there for everyone. With the right entrepreneurial spirit, the best ideas, and a strong hide, anyone can make themselves a success in a capitalistic society. This is not the case in even the best case scenario for socialism. That is why, perhaps, capitalism will continue to thrive while the other systems fail. No matter how flawed, it is the centerpiece of the American dream. The thought that, no matter where you’re from, if you have the brains and the determination, you can make your life anything you want it to be. Point to something from socialism that’s even half that inspirational and you've got it.
