The twenty fourth and twenty fifth day of Sea-Teacher 2017, making self-report and farewell ceremony

On August 30^th, 2017, we went to Damrongratsongkroh School as usual. I made self-report full day there. We tried to finish our self-report before sea-teacher project ending.

On August 31^st, 2017, we went to Damrongrohratsongkroh School as usual. Mum Sunny asked us to join in her class. In her class, we introduced ourselves in front of class. Then, we talked about Indonesia. In the last session, we had question-answer session.

The twenty third day of Sea-Teacher 2017, asking for school information

This is the twenty third of sea teacher 2017 on August 29^th, 2017. We asked for school information to mum Sunny. Mum sunny told us about Damrongratsongkroh School; the informations about that school. Mum sunny also gave us a Damrongratsongkroh School’s brochure to help us to get information that we need to make a report / self report.

The twenty second day of Sea-Teacher 2017, teaching demonstrations

Today, I had teaching demonstrations. I taught listening and speaking skill with topic “advance emotions” in three classes. The first class, the activities were not completed because the time was not enough. I explained the materials too long; I tried to make students understand, because student’s level was very low. They had difficulties to understand the materials, slow respond, shy to answer. In this first class, my self-confidence was low and I felt nervous.

The second one, the activities were completed; from warm-up activity, presentation, and practice activity. Students were more active than the first one. This class, I felt more enjoy, and I did not feel nervous anymore.

The last one is the most active class that I taught. I did not need long time to explain the materials. So, in the practice session, there were many students practice their conversation. This class, I felt enjoy to teach, and I had self-confidence to teach.

Yet I taught with the same lesson plan, activities, materials, and topic, but different level of competence and different characteristics. So, I felt the challenges. However, it taught me how to interact with them, how to adjust the method / approach to them. More than that, it can help me to be a good teacher for the future.

The twentieth and twenty first day of Sea-Teacher 2017, going to market, night bazaar and walking street.

On Saturday morning, I revised my materials for teaching demonstration on Monday. I wanted to make sure that there was nothing error, typo, and others. In the evening, I and my friends went to Halal café to have dinner.

Then, we continued to go to night bazaar. We walked around there. After that, we went to walking street.

On Monday morning, I and my friend went to market and walked around there. We took praying Dzuhur at Darul Aman mosque. Then, we had lunch at Muslim restaurant near mosque.

The nineteenth day of Sea-Teacher 2017, preparing material

We went to Damrongratsongkroh School by walking as usual and direct to academic affairs to meet mum Sunny. At 8.30 in the morning, I went to English Department office and stay there till at eleven. In that office, I made / revised my material for my teaching demonstration on Monday. I also gave the copy of my lesson plan to head master of English Department, Mr. Chain Maneemool.

At eleven, I and my friend went to Darul Aman mosque to take praying Jum’at. We had lunch in the Muslim restaurant near from mosque before praying Jum’at.

The eighteenth day of Sea-Teacher 2017, observing Ms. Merle's class again

We went to Damrongratsongkroh School by walking as usual and directed to academic affairs to meet mum Sunny for a moment. Then, I went to English Department office. In the morning, I observed Ms. Merle’s class. In the class, Ms. Merle’s asked me to introduce myself in front of class before the class started. Ms. Merle asked students to sit down with their partner. Then, Ms. Merle asked students about their project that has been given to them in the previous meeting. Ms. Merle also reminded the students about the deadline of that project.

Ms. Merle taught listening and speaking; the topic was “Social Media”. Teacher showed vocabulary related to social media, and showed short conversation for each vocabulary. Teacher asked students to read conversation on the screen. After that, teacher asked students to make their own short conversation about social media, and based on their topic. The topic was: app for line 1, blog for line 2, cloud computing for line 3, and crowd funding for line 4. Teacher gave students five minutes to prepare their short conversation before practice it. Then, students practiced their own short conversation, and teacher scored them.

After all students practiced their own short conversation, Ms. Merle asked me to speak in front of class about Indonesia, such as culture, foods, language, and other. Students asked me about Indonesia language, like what is “good morning”, “good afternoon”, “good evening”, and others in Indonesia language.

In the afternoon, we had a meeting with my friend’s teachers from Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (UNLAM), coordinators of our host university, Chiang Rai Rajabhat University (CRRU) Ms. Pakinee and Mr. T. Rawat, and Damrongratsongkroh School staffs.

After that, I came back to English department office to make material for my teaching demonstration on Monday. After that, I went to market to buy mineral water and some foods for dinner. Then, we came back to hotel.

The seventeenth day of Sea-Teacher 2017, observing Ms. Merle's class

Today, we went to Damrongratsongkroh School as usual and directly to academic affairs to meet mum Sunny. We met mum Sunny just a minute, because mum Sunny had a meeting this morning. At around eight in the morning, we watched a ceremony in Damrongratsongkroh School. After that, I went to English Department office. Today, I observed Ms. Merle’s class, not Mr. Benson’s class, because Mr. Benson trained students for the debate competition for tomorrow.

In the class, Ms. Merle let me introduce myself in front of class before the class started. Ms. Merle taught listening and speaking skills, and the topic was “Social Media”. Ms. Merle made student familiar with vocabulary related to social media, such as, app, blog, cloud computing, and others.

Teacher drilled those vocabularies (repeat-after) the teacher. After showing a vocabulary, teacher showed to students a conversation. Then, students read that conversation; male name for male students, and female name for female.

After that, teacher asked students to make own short conversation. Then, students practiced it and teacher heard that conversation. Teacher always praised students by saying “good”, “very good”, and others.

In the afternoon, I gave my lesson plan soft file to Mr. Benson; the lesson plan that I made last night. Then, I talked with teacher in the English Department office. At three in the afternoon, I went to academic affairs to meet mum Sunny. I printed my lesson plan there and showed to mum Sunny. Mum Sunny asked me something about my lesson plan. After that, I sit there for a moment, and then mum Sunny allowed me to go hotel.

The sixteenth day of Sea-Teacher 2017, observing Mr. Benson's class again

Today is Tuesday, or we can call it as weekdays. We went to Damrongratsongkroh School by walking as usual and directly to mum Sunny’s room to meet her before going to English Department office. At 8.30 in the morning, I went to English department office. In the office, I watched students. They train English debate, and they were trained by Mr. Benson.

At eleven o’clock, I was invited by mum Sunny to have a lunch in the Halal food café. The foods are so delicious. I enjoyed that food very much.

In the afternoon, I observed Mr. Benson’s classes. Actually, I observed 3 classes; all of them were Mr. Benson’s classes. The first one was in M5 level. Before class started, Mr. Benson asked me to introduce myself in front of class. In the class, Mr. Benson taught listening and speaking skill and the topic was “at the airport”. Teacher asked the students about the name of the pictures on the projector, but there was no students answering it. So, teacher asked students to stand up. Students who could answer the questions / name of the pictures, students could sit down.

Then, the activity of this class was the same activity with previous class that I observed. Mr. Benson showed a slide that contained speaking (at the airport), and students also had copy of speaking. Students had to fill the blank sentences and then practice it in front of class without text (memorized).

The second was in the Mini English Program (MEP); this program is a special program. In the class, there was speaking test based on worksheet that student have had before. Students should choose 3 questions. Then, teacher would ask students based on the questions that they chose.

I love this class, because students are very active and smart. When I introduced myself in front of class, they asked me some questions. This level is lower secondary school, but their English skills are very good. I love this class.

The last one was in M6 level, or grade 12. Teacher taught about the topic “email”. Teacher gave a piece of paper to each student about email. Then, teacher drilled (repeat-after) and explained that material. After that, teacher asked the students to fill the blank, and teacher wrote the vocabulary choices on the whiteboard.

Then, students had to collect their assignment to the teacher. I was amazed, because students collect their assignment stand in line.

It was time to go home, because the class / observation finished at 4 in the afternoon. Before going hotel, I went to market to buy mineral water and some foods for dinner. After that, we came back to hotel.

The fifteenth day of Sea-Teacher 2017, observing Mr. Benson's class

Today is Monday, we went to Damrongratsongkroh School by walking as usual, and directly to mum Sunny’s room to meet her before going to English Department office. At 8.15 in the morning, I went to English department office, and I met Mr. Benson. Mr. Benson showed me his lesson plan. At 8.30 Mr. Benson and I went to M5 class. In the classroom, Mr. Benson gave a chance to introduce myself before the class started. So, I introduced myself in front of class.

Mr. Benson taught or testing speaking for level M5, and the topic was “At the airport”. This meeting / testing was continuation for previous meeting. Before speaking test, Mr. Benson showed a slide that contained speaking (at the airport). Then Mr. Benson and students did the example (practice) speaking once. Mr. Benson was as airport official, and students were as passengers.

After that, students practiced / tested speaking in front of class with their partner (pair works). Mr. Benson gave instruction before testing; students should tell their number and speak loudly. After testing, teacher gave feedbacks / corrections, for each group / pair if any feedback for them. Teacher also wrote on the blackboard, and told students about the words that have similar pronunciations, such as “luggage” and “language”. At the end of class, teacher repeated (drill / repeat-after) the words that he wrote on blackboard.

The timing of lesson today was not the same with timing of lesson as usual, which was only 40 minutes, because today there was a meeting in the afternoon. I only observe one class today. After class, we came back to English Department office. I only sat there, and key-in my university. In the afternoon, I only sat in English Department office till the time for came back to hotel.

The fourteenth day of Sea-Teacher 2017, going to market

Today is Sunday, this means that holiday. In the morning, at around eleven, I accompanied my friends to go to market. They wanted to buy a bag, and bought rice and fried chicken.

In the afternoon, my friends went to Singha Park, but I did not join to them because I have visited that place before. So, I prepared schedule and lessons list for key in (for my university). Then, I took a rest for a while.

The thirteenth day of Sea-Teacher 2017, going to Blue Temple, Singha Park, and White Temple

Today is Saturday, August 19^th, or it can be called as weekend. This means that holiday. In the morning, at around eleven, we went to Muslim foods restaurant that near from Darul Aman mosque to have lunch. After that, we went to 7-elevent to buy mineral water and some foods. Then, we came back to hotel to take a rest.

In the afternoon, mum Sunny called us that she was in front of our hotel. She picked us up to go to Blue Temple. I just knew that Blue Temple was not too far away from our hotel. The Blue Temple is so beautiful that made us amazed. We did not want to lose moment, so we took some pictures there.

After that, we went to Singha Park. It is beautiful and large. We check in around at two in the afternoon. The payment was 50 Baht, included mineral water and shuttle bus to go around. Our schedule to go around by bus was at 03 in the afternoon. So, we had an hour to see the statue of Singha (bear), and took some pictures there.

After took some pictures, we were sitting at the canteen to wait for our schedule for go around by shuttle bus. At 03 in the afternoon, we went around Singha Park by shuttle bus.

We went around, and we stopped at the garden of tea for ten minutes. We borrowed farmer clothes there. Then, we took some pictures.

After that, we went to white temple. I and my partner checked in while mum Sunny was waiting for us. The ticket price is 50 baht for each.

The twelfth day of Sea-Teacher 2017, going to Samakkhiwitthayakhom School

Today is Friday; it was raining in the morning. We went to Damrongratsongkroh School as usual, and direct to mum Sunny’s room in the Academic Affairs to meet her. After meeting her, I went to English Department office. There were only a few teachers because some teachers, especially English teachers went to Samakkhiwitthayakhom School. There was an open house there; the tenth northern region EP/MEP open house 2017. There were many competitions, such as storytelling, speech, crosswords, and many more.

At around ten o’clock in the morning, the headmaster of English Department, Mr. Chain Maneemool invited me and my friends to go to Samakkhiwitthayakhom School to see that event.

Then, we decided to go to have lunch at the Muslim food that not far from Samakkhiwitthayakhom School before we come back to Damrongratsongkroh School. After having lunch, we came back to Damrongratsongkroh School. In the afternoon, I and my friend went Darul Aman mosque to praying Jum’at. After that, we came back to hotel to take a rest. In the evening, we went to market to buy durian.

The eleventh day of Sea-Teacher 2017, celebrating the Independence Day of Republic Indonesia in Mae Fah Luang University

Today is august 17^th, 2017; this means that today is the independence of Republic Indonesia. The exactly is the 72^nd year of the Independence Day of Republic Indonesia, our home country. We went to Mae Fah Luang University to celebrate the important moment of our home country. We celebrated this moment with friends that joining exchange programs in Mae Fah Luang University, and friends that join sea-teacher program by wearing batik. The ceremony was held at seven o’clock in the morning. We were very happy, because we could celebrate it in spite of not in Indonesia.

After the ceremony, we took some pictures. Then, we walked around Mae Fah Luang University to take some pictures and to find halal foods. We decided to have lunch at the university’s canteen that sells halal foods. After eating lunch, we talked with friends by using bahasa. We like a family.

When we wanted to go hotel, we wanted to back hotel by bus. We waited for bus too long. We were very bored to wait for that bus. So, we decided to back hotel by grab taxi. We regretted to waiting for the bus too long time in hot day. We should book grab taxi before waiting bus too long.

After all finished, we came back to hotel. In the hotel, we took a rest and talked with my friends.

The tenth day of Sea-Teacher 2017, observing Ms. Cris's classes

Today is a weekday, and I went to Damrongratsongkroh School as usual, but today was raining all day. In the school, I was direct to go to academic affairs to meet mum Sunny as usual. At half past seven in the morning, I went to English department office. There were only a few teachers, because English teachers were very busy to prepare / train students for the final competition.

I observed Ms. Cris’s class in grade seven. Actually, I observed three classes of Ms. Cris, and all of them were grade seven. She taught in the same grade, so the topic, lesson plan, method, and activities were the same between those classes. In the classroom, Ms. Cris also gave me a chance to introduce myself before class is started. Ms. Cris taught about speaking maybe, because I have heard before that foreign teachers were only given instructions to teach listening and speaking.

Ms. Cris elicited the material by asking students about animals, and students mentioned animals, and then Ms, Cris wrote the animals’ name on the blackboard. Then, Ms. Cris asked which could be “pets”, of course the topic of Ms. Cris’s material was “PETS”. Ms. Cris circled the students’ answered / the animals those could be pets on the blackboard. Then, Ms. Cris wrote conversations on the blackboard, and students were asked to copy that conversation.

Then, Ms. Cris drilled the students (repeat – after) the teacher. After that, Ms. Cris asked the students (volunteers) to practice that conversation in front of classroom. There were four to six pairs to practice that conversation.

After that, teacher drilled (repeat – after the teacher) again. Then, students were asked to practice that conversation with their partner (pair group). Ms. Cris walked around to hear students’ conversation practice. After all of students (pairs) finished to practice their conversation, Ms. Cris drilled again, but only the words which difficult to pronounce it.

Ms. Cris taught in the same grade, so the topic, lesson plan, method, and activities were the same between those classes. However, the students’ characteristics were very different. The first one was moderate active / enthusiastic. The second one was more active / enthusiastic than the first one. The last was the lowest level of the enthusiasm; it looked like the lowest of performance.

Before us going hotel, we went to the market to buy some foods. After buying all things those we need, we came back to hotel.

The ninth day of Sea-Teacher 2017, observing Ms. Steph's class, and going to Mae Sai border.

Today is a weekday, so I and my partner go to Damrongratsongkroh School by walking as usual. We went to school at 7.30 in the morning, and straight to mum Sunny’s room to meet her. At 8.30 we went to the office; I went to English department office, and my partner to science office. Today, I only observed one class, which was Ms. Steph’s class in eighth grade (2.4). She taught speaking skill: the exactly was speaking test, and the topic was “sicknesses”.

In the classroom, Ms. Steph allowed me to introduce myself first in front of class before class was starting. After that, she wrote the conversation on the white board, and students had to write that conversation and then practiced it with their partner (pair works). Each group (pair works) had to practice it in front of class (in front of teacher) without reading the conversation (students should memorize it), then the teacher scored them.

After all students have practiced their speaking, teacher wrote two line / sentences on the white board. The sentences were not completed; students had to complete those sentences. Students should write the answer on the piece of paper that given by the teacher. After that, the time was over, and we backed to English department office.

In the afternoon, I and my friend were invited by mum Sunny to join with her to go to Mae Sai border. Mae Sai is a border between Thailand and Myanmar.

The eighth day of Sea-Teacher 2017, taking a rest

Today is holiday, because today is Queen’s birthday in Thailand. I did not do anything; I just took a rest because I was still not fit. So, I just lied in my bed, and watching movies. I also re-open my blog to make sure that is okay, or nothing error / typo.

In the afternoon, I washed my clothes. After that, I continued to lie again, to take a rest, because tomorrow I am going to go to school, and I should get fit. In the evening, I went to market alone to buy some foods for dinner, but I forgot to buy mineral water. So, I and my friend went to market again, the exactly place was seven-eleven to buy mineral water.

The seventh day of Sea-Teacher 2017, going to Muslim restaurant, and market

Today is Sunday, and we can call it as weekend, this means that holiday. We woke up a bit late today; it was around at eight in the morning. There was no important activity, because I was not fit, my body was ill. At one in the afternoon, we went to the Muslim restaurant near from Damrongratsongkroh School to eat beef noodles.

After eating noodles, we went to market. My friends wanted to buy durian, they were curious to know the taste of Bangkok durian, but we stopped in the some places to take pictures.

After buying durian and took some pictures, we backed to hotel to take a rest, because I was not fit and my body was ill. Maybe it caused by tired, because yesterday I and my friend walked around (walking street, night bazaar, and Chiang Rai clock tower). The sixth day of Sea-Teacher 2017, going to market, night bazaar, and walking street

Today is a weekend, this means that holiday. We woke up very late today, at nine in the morning. At eleven in the morning, we went to seven-eleven to buy mineral water and some foods. We went there by walking, it is a little far. After that, we would back to hotel, but we stopped in the market to buy durian. We saw the price of durian was 65 baht, and we thought that price for one durian. Apparently, the price was for 1 kg. The durian that we bought was around 3 kg. So, we should pay 183 baht. We were lucky to buy that durian. Even though, we bought it with expensive price, because that durian was good quality. We were satisfied to enjoy that durian.

In the evening, I and my friends went to bazaar to enjoy weekend. There were many people on that bazaar. We went there by walking, it was very far. I was very tired, and you know, I did not buy anything.

Before us going to hotel, we also went to walking street to see what was in the walking street. But unfortunately, I did not enjoy it well, because I have already got tired. We went around, and then went to hotel.

The fifth day of Sea-Teacher 2017, observing Ms. Merle's class

This is the fifth day of Pre-Service student teacher exchange in Southeast Asia, Chiang Rai-Thailand. I went to Damrongratsongkroh School a bit late, because there were already many students and teachers on the school field to celebrate queen’s birthday (mother’s day).

We were lucky because we could see the celebration of the important day in Thailand that was queen’s day / mother’s day. We were given opportunity to observe that celebration by mum Sunny as well. We were very, very, very lucky.

After the ceremony was end, I take some pictures with mum Sunny and my partner as well.

Teachers took pictures together at the end of the ceremony

After that, I went to English department office to meet Ms. Merle, because I would observe her class. She said to me that she has class / schedule on period 6 that was at 12.40. However, I could not observe her class on that time because I would go to mosque to praying Jum’at. The praying Jum’at would be started at 12.30, so that I was unable to observe Ms. Merle’s class on that time. Then, I told to her that I could not observe on that time, and I requested to her that I would observe her class on period 7, that was at 01.30 pm. She agreed about my requested.

At eleven o’clock in the morning, we went to Darul Aman mosque to praying Jum’at. Before the praying jum’at was started, we had lunch first in the food stall near from mosque. We had some difficulties about what would we eat, because we cannot speak Thai and they cannot speak English. Fortunately, we met Malay people there, he asked us by using Malay and we could understand it, because Malay and Bahasa Indonesia are similar. We ordered friend rice with chicken.

After praying Jum’at, I backed to Damrongratsongkroh School to observe Ms. Merle’s class. In the classroom, Ms. Merle gave me chance to introduce myself in front of class. Ms. Merle taught listening and speaking in grade eight. Foreign teacher, like Ms. Merle is only given instruction to teach listening and speaking, English for communication, and Thai teacher is given instruction to teach English grammar.

Topic was airport: vocabularies that related to airport.

Ms. Merle showed some pictures with caption that related to airport, like passport, visa and many more because the topic was “airport”. Teacher drilled students while the pictures were showing; students repeat after the teacher. After that, teacher gave exercises (fill the blank / gap information), the choices on the screen (slide), and then student made own conversation. Teacher went around the classroom to check students work while students were doing the exercises.

Then, teacher asked students to practice their own conversation in front of the class, and student collected their exercises to the teacher as well. After that, teacher gave score to each student that has practiced their own conversation.

After observing Ms. Merle’s class, I and Ms. Merle went to her office. I asked for permission to Ms. Merle that I would want to go to mum Sunny’s room in the academic affairs. In the mum Sunny’s room, we ate some snacks. Then mum Sunny allowed us to go hotel.

The fourth day of Sea-Teacher 2017, observation in the classroom

This is the fourth day of Pre-Service student teacher exchange in Chiang Rai, the exactly place is Damrongratsongkroh School. I went to school at half past seven in the morning. Actually, today I must introduce myself in front of students on the field, but I was unable to do it because it was raining. At half past eight, I observed Ms. Joyce class. The class level was upper level and she taught listening and speaking. Ms. Joyce allowed me to introduce myself in front of class before the class was started.

Ms. Joyce showed the students a video about game. After watching that video, teacher gave clear instructions and divided class in to three groups for playing a game. The game name was “pass the message”. Students were enthusiastic to playing that game. After playing a game, teacher gave an exercise to the students. There was two session of Ms. Joyce’s class, in the afternoon, the lesson continued. However, I did not observe that class again, because I observed another class.

The exercise in Ms. Joyce’s class, students had to rearrange the conversations.

After that, I went to mini English program (MEP) room to met Ms. Cheradee, because in the afternoon, I would observe her class. Before class was started, she made lesson plan first in her office. She asked me anything while she was making lesson plan.

In the classroom, teacher Cheradee played a video song about jobs. Students listened to song and read the copy of lyric / sang by read the copy of lyric, and Ms. Cheradee sang together as well. After that, teacher asked the students about the job, based on the lyric of song. After sang a song, teacher played a video again, the video for listening, listen and repeat sections. There were also drills (repeat-after), drill vocabularies and sentences, and also answer the questions.

The last activity was conversation practice. Before students practicing conversation, I was asked by Ms. Cheradee to practice conversation with her. There was a script, so we only read the script. Students practiced conversation by reading the script as well. I was also asked to give score on students’ conversation practice. So, some students practiced in front of Ms. Cheradee and some students practiced in front of me. From this, I learned how to give score to students, because it was different with Indonesia. The score in Indonesia is until 100, but in Damrongratsongkroh is only until 10. All of students have practiced their conversation practice, the time was up. Then, we moved to another class.

Students looked more active and enthusiastic.

The activity in this class were the same with previous class, because the same teacher. However, this class was more active and enthusiastic; all of students followed the song. I asked to do conversation practice with Ms. Cheradee as well, like previous class. So, I observed three classes today, Ms. Joyce’s class, and two Ms. Cheradee’s classes.

We went to market to buy foods for dinner.

After observing the class, I went to market with my partner and mum Sunny. We would buy some foods for dinner. After bought some food, we back to home together by walking. Then, we take a rest at our hotel.

The third day of Sea-Teacher 2017, Introduced myself in the classroom

Hello,, this is the third day of Pre-Service Student Teacher Exchange in Chiang Rai, Thailand. I went to Damrongratsongkroh School too early, so the school was quiet. I went to there too early because I do not want to come late. In Damrongratsongkroh School, there was a ceremony. The ceremony is held every day except Saturday and Sunday, because those days are weekend, this means that those days are holiday.

There were some boxes in front of students, those boxes for put students’ hand phone.

School staff signed the presence lists.

In the ceremony, all students sat down on the field. They stood only for sang the national anthem. There were some boxes in front of students. Students’ hand phone will be put in those boxes, and then those boxes will be put in the office. Students can take their phone in the end of the class, before go home. So, there was no students use hand phone in the classroom. Each leader of the class has presence list. The school staff signed those presence lists on the field.

After ceremony, I went to around with Pre-Service student from Chiang Rai Rajabhat University, but I forgot her name. I went to the classroom to introduce myself. There was no teacher because English Teachers in Damrongratsongkroh School were very busy, because there was a competition. So, students did the exercises in their workbook. After introduced myself in the classroom, I went to around again, and then went to English department office, I met and talked with Mr. Chain Maneemool, the headmaster of English Department. English department in Damrongratsongkroh School has two English program, mini English program (MEP) and regular English program.

Then, I went to another English office room, I met Mr. Benson, he will be my adviser for this Pre-Service student teacher program in Damrongratsongkroh School. He gave me a schedule of observation, preparation for teaching practices (making lesson plan), and teaching demonstrations. He also asked for my email address for forward the syllabus of English subject.

After that, he allowed me to go hotel earlier, but I did not go home at that time because I was waiting my partner. We always go to school and back to home together. Before going to hotel, I and my partner went to academic office to see mum Sunny. She asked me to go her office before going home. In academic office, mum Sunny gave as salted eggs for dinner. Then we backed to hotel.

The second day of Sea-Teacher 2017, Go to Damrongratsongkroh School

This is the second day of Pre-Service Student Teacher Exchange in Chiang Rai, Thailand. Today we are picked up by Ms Pakinee by bus at 8.20. We go to Ciang Rai Rajabhat University to meet and to be acquainted with school staffs where we will be placed in.

Before we go to Chiang Rai Rajabhat University to meet school staffs, we have miscommunication, we think that we will not have breakfast from hotel, but we get. We are very late to have breakfast, so we did not have breakfast, because we did not have breakfast. In the Chiang Rai Rajabhat University, we get snack for breakfast. After that, we go to school where we placed in with school staffs. But I and my partner are not picked up by school staff, because there is Asean Festival event in that school. So, the school staffs are very busy. Then, I and my partner are accompanied by Ms Pakinee (ms Nok) and Mr T.Rawat to go to dormitory and to school where we place in.

We take pictures with our adviser, mum Sunny, the headmaster of Damrongratsongkroh School, and Mr. T.Rawat. we are very happy to meet them.

Asean Festival event in Damrongratsongkroh School, we are very happy. there are so many foods, animals, clothes, and others.

We go around to see Asian Festival Event in this school, take pictures and try to wear the asean Clothes or fashion. After that, we go to Muslim restaurant for have lunch that near from the school, and also we do not forget to go to mosque that is not too far from Damrongratsongkroh School with Mum Sunny in order to know how to go there.

After going around to seeing Asean festival in this school, and know the way or road to go to mosque, we back to dormitory, we are accompanied by Mum Sunny. That’s all for today, thank you so much.

The first day of Sea - Teacher 2017, Orientation

It is the first time in Thailand, especially in Chiang Rai Rajabhat University. We have an orientation in Chiang Rai Rajabhat University. the orientation with the president of Chiang Rai Rajabhat University, and also Mr. T.Rawat. There are 5 colors of university jacket, this means that we are from 5 different university. there is Islamic University of Indonesia, Lambung Mangkurat University (UNLAM), University of Uhamka, Universitas Borneo Tarakan, and Universitas Negeri Makassar.

I was very nervous, because this is the first time and we did not know each other, I mean from other universities. Especially when I was waiting for my opportunity to speak for introduce myself. I was very nervous on it. This moment, we introduced ourselves; name, university name, major, and others. More than that, we know culture, interaction, and some places from that orientation.

From this orientation, I found new friends, we know each other, and then we take pictures together. It makes us like a family and also to know further about local culture, interactions, and some places.

Know each others, local culture, interaction, and know places are very important, because living in other place / country. We know those, it can help me to interact with local people, respect to local culture, and also we know what we can do and what we cannot do in that place or country.

I want to know more about local culture, local interaction and local people, in order to get new knowledge and experiences. When I was in a plane from Bangkok to Chiang Rai, I talked a lot with local people beside me. I introduced myself, and he introduced himself. I also ask some local culture, and what should I wear or the color of the clothes.
