With grandma's help, you can feed your family delicious meals that appeal to the palate."

Good cooking also involves using everyday kitchen tools like a whisk or a simple wooden spoon (two of my personal, no-nonsense favorites), which really handle most kitchen tasks, and also using good quality cooktops, stoves or ranges available in today's market.

One site I like is www.canadapost.ca/shopper/. Why does grandma recommend that you check this out? Why, for the sheer variety of cooktops, stoves and ranges, which can make cooking so much easier.

Grandma likes the smooth-topped stoves because you don't have to mess around cleaning greasy stove-top rings; and, my dears, anything that cuts down on time and labor gets three thumbs up in my books. As well, those flat induction cooktops look promising. Wish we'd had them in my day.

Noodle dough tends to stretch, so trying to cut it with a knife is a nuisance--time-consuming and enough to make you swear off making your own noodles EVER again.

Some people use a pasta machine, others don't want to invest is costly equipment and would prefer a back-to-the basics approach to cutting their noodles.

I discuss a noodle cutting trick in Homemade Noodles--Noodle-Making from Scratch
