On Tuesday, three persons slaughtered a pregnant cow in front of Perumbavoor Sri Dharmasastha Temple compound. A police team led by DySP Harikrishnan took the criminals into custody. Muhammed (49), his son Anus (23) and Razid (18) were those arrested.

Cricket legend Shri Kapil Dev is all set to start a prestigious project in Smart Kochi. A team of NRIs (physicians as well as businessmen) from Doha, Qatar, has joined hands to promote this flagship project at Kochi, Kerala.

Government of Kerala in a press release confirmed that former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev led consortium has expressed interest to set up 1,000 crore Kochi Medical City.

The Medical City would be completed by three years. The project will generate a lot of employment opportunities. Around 7,000 persons will be recruited directly. The Kochi Medical City is proposed to come up at Kadamakkudi panchayath in Ernakulam district.

Stop your hide & seek play...Act wisely

For the last couple of weeks, Mullaperiyar hogs the limelight in regional as well as in national media. When 30 lakhs of people in Kerala is fighting to protect their life, in New Delhi, Honorable Prime Minister of India is discussing about FDI in retail sector and other low affair issues. And, so far, Prime Minister has not taken any measures to save the lives of people in Kerala. Why he is neglecting the demand of Kerala to construct a new dam? Wondering why this is happening in a democratic country like India? Do you think that people in Kerala don't have the freedom to live safely / happily?

Kerala is not at all against Tamil Nadu. We are ready to give as much as water the latter require. However, we cannot play with lives of 30 lakh Keralaites. What will be TN's stand if a disaster happens due to Mullaperiyar in their state?

Hectic parleys / conferences are not the ideal solution for this issue. Something should be done urgently in this regard.

As the President of India, you should be more active and must fight for citizens. I feel, since the situation in Mullaperiyar is alarming, you have the responsibility to intervene in this issue. As famous proverb says - prevention is better than cure. So, expecting your 'prompt' action.

For many reasons, last week was a special 'week' in my life. May be it can be described as jorow (combination of joy and sorrow). As usual I enjoyed the mix of joy & sorrow. And, I tried my best to be positive and happy. Coz positive attitude motivates you to do more & helps to get maximum output. :) :) Better productivity can only be achieved once we are in the positive frame.

A big thanks to Mr. Ranjith for sending a strong message against dowry and the ritual of making wedding as a 'sale of gold' between the families of bride and groom through his latest flick - Indian Rupee. The dialogue by veteran actor Thilakan may have touched the hearts of many girls whose life became miserable due to dowry and gold.

Do you think that why Director Ranjith deserves a credit? Reason is here ; After watching this movie, my friend who had specific demands about dowry changed his mindset. Now, his only demand is - girl should take care of his aged mother & father! We should note that what a change this is...Really, credit goes to Mr. Ranjith for trashing such a prevailing evil in the society.

Kerala to conduct Global Ayurveda Festival - 2012

To promote authentic Ayurveda, the Centre for Innovation in Science & Social Action (CISSA), in association with the Government of Kerala and the Ayurveda Fraternity of Kerala, is organizing a mega event titled ‘Ayurveda Keralam’ 2012 – Global Ayurveda Festival - Kerala (GAF-K) & Arogya Expo. It will be held in Thiruvananthapuram from 9 to 14 February 2012.

The event will showcase the potential of Ayurveda and will have seminars involving international Ayurveda experts, clinics by renowned physicians, workshops, outreach programmes, job fair, exhibitions etc. A health expo with over 300 stalls is also planned.

In search for a hit : Mohanlal needs a movie that helps him to regain the pride

When veteran director Satyan Anthikkad, who had made excellent comedy movies, announced a project with actor Mohanlal everyone expected that it would help the actor for another comeback. But, disappointing everyone, Snehaveedu is another cliched movie. At least, the movie should have cured the wounds created by the Satyan-Lal team through their last association - Innathe Chintha Vishayam which was released in 2008.

There is no justification of another flop. The story and script of Snehaveedu is too weak. It often reminds us movies done by Lal in early 80's and 90's.

By changing the backdrop and the names of characters, Satyan tried to make another TP Balagopalan MA or Nadodikaattu.

As you know, the story revolves around Ajayan (Mohanlal) who worked in the Gulf and also in Chennai, before returning to his home in Palakkad where his mom Ammukkutty Amma (Sheela ) lives. The story takes a different turn with the entry of Karthik (Rahul Pillai), a teenager who has come from Chennai, claiming that he is Ajayan’s son. We have seen such 'shocking' revelations by numerous daughters & sons through Alanchery Thambrakkal,
Kadhanayakan etc.

I am wondering why Mohanlal, who has acted in more than 250 movies, agreed to do this weak movie.

I feel Snehaveedu is an average movie that cleverly failed to repeat the Mohanlal image in 80's and 90's. And, the search of Mohanlal for a hit continues and the thirst of Mohanlal fans also continue!!!

Oh God! : Another stay in Rajiv Gandhi assassination case

I can't believe it. The Madras High Court has stayed execution of 3 killers in Rajiv Gandhi assassination case for eight weeks! The High Court is not at all considering that the criminals assassinated India's former Prime Minister! Why should terrorists get mercy?

Do they deserve that? I am wondering what a complex Indian Judiciary we have. Everyone in our country want to save the life of terrorists who killed innocent Indians. None is worried about martyrs who sacrificed their life to save our nation. Government of India has the mindset to spend crores to protect the life of a terrorist, not even a paise to save the 'alive citizens.'

I think, Anna Hazare should, in future, fight against this attitude of our citizens, rulers and judiciary.

Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Assembly in an unprecedented unanimous resolution appealed to the President to reconsider their mercy pleas.

Enough is Enough : Hang the killers of Rajiv Gandhi

After a long legal battle that saw many twists and mercy petitions, finally, the authorities of the Central Prison, Vellore, fixed September 9 as the final day of — Santhan, Murugan and G. Perarivalan alias Arivu who killed Former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi brutally.

For publicity, now, some Tamil political outfits have entered the scene and raised their voice against hanging culprits in Rajiv Gandhi assassination case. Though the parties are too small in terms of leaders and supporters, there are some concerns in this regard.

1) If we consider killing Prime Minister of India as a terrorist activity and the culprits behind that brutal assassination as terrorists, a political outfit that begs to save terrorists are also criminals. They should be punished. In a broader term, they are traitors.

2) 20 years has gone. Indian Judiciary should take a bold stand and go ahead with the verdict.

3) Just think about the family members of Rajiv Gandhi. By stretching the case again to society, the parties with vested interests are hurting Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi.

Former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated while proceeding to an election meeting in Sriperumbudur on May 21, 1991.

Remember that the Supreme Court had pronounced the judgment and all the pleas of culprits in this case were rejected in 1999 itself. They were supposed to hang on October 5, 1999, a date fixed by the prison authorities to implement the court order. But it was postponed because of the mercy petition filed by them!

So, enough is enough. Hang the killers of Rajiv Gandhi as early as possible. It is a request to Indian Judiciary.

MoT announces incentives for NABH accredited wellness centres and Ayurveda hospitals

August 24, 2011, New Delhi : In a move to help the accredited Ayurveda hospitals, the Ministry of Tourism (MoT) has announced incentives for National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) accredited wellness centres and Ayurveda hospitals, according to a press release issued here.

Some of the incentives for the accredited entities are:

Being featured on the Incredible India website.

Being linked to an accredited centres website from the listings.

A NABH Mark of Excellence and a MoT approved logo.

Listing of accredited wellness entities on Incredible India stalls in approved national and international wellness and spa conferences.

Eligibility to participate in Ministry of Tourism publications and road shows.

Financial support for all accredited centres up to Rs six lakh per year from the MoT for participation in international Wellness Tourism events duly identified and approved under the existing guidelines for Market Development Assistance (MDA) Scheme for Wellness Tourism Service Providers (WTSP). Under this, financial assistance would be permissible on travel expenses by air from India to any other country and by air/rail from one country to another, in economy excursion class fair and/or charges of the built furnished stall, electricity and water charges etc. subject to a maximum of 75 per cent of the total expenditure or Rs.2.00 lakh, whichever is less to WTSP. Up to three visits for two persons from accredited wellness centres and AYUSH Hospitals to participate in international events can be supported by MoT i.e. up to six lakh per year.

For Domestic events, four seminars/events in a financial year will be sponsored by MoT with a ceiling of Rs 10 lakh each on a 50:50 sharing basis. Further, for developing publicity material, MoT would be providing financial assistance of 67:33 sharing basis to accredited wellness centres subject to a ceiling of Rs 50 lakh a year.

All the accredited entities would be eligible to apply for the annual National Tourism Awards under the Wellness & Spa category.

Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple : Death of T P Sundararajan not bad omen

When Devaprasnam (a ritual to know the will of presiding deity) commenced in Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple with bad omen, so many rumors spread about the death of T P Sundararajan. Kerala Media, as usual, added more spice to it and termed T P Sundararajan's death is due to the wrath of Padmanabhaswamy!!!

I strongly believe that T P Sundararajan's death is not at all connected to this issue or due to the Lord Vishnu's curse. And, there is no point in linking his death to Devaprasanam and other revelations.

T P Sunderarajan's petition at the Supreme Court led the Court to issue an order to take account of all the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple treasure.

Why T P Sundararajan's death is normal one

1) He died at the age of 70.

2) Death was not due to accident / chronic disease.

3) He died at his home.

If we take TP's petition in a positive way, he did a big job that a man can't achieve in his / her life. Actually, the mission of his life was to - reveal the asset of Sree Padmanabhaswamy.

Otherwise, TP would be a top bureaucrat in New Delhi.

Two days back, while I was searching on National Military Memorial Park in Bangalore, I visited a blog - http://reportmysignal.blogspot.com/ - a forum run by team of ex- Corps of Signals, Indian Army, Veterans for social networking of Indian Defence Veterans.

As I am interested in reading and writing articles related to Indian Armed Forces especially about Indian Soldiers, I spend some time to read a few articles listed in the blog. Meanwhile, I got a chance to read a touching article about a brave soldier, who was disabled while fighting in the Kargil war, is still waiting for the government's promised help even as the country is observing the 12th anniversary of the victory.
