Roman Ghost Caught on Video

The Wakefield Express in England reports a local video group has footage of a ghost-like image on a footpath frequented by joggers.

Some believe the footage shows a Roman soldier.

What raises an eyebrow is the strange phantom doesn't appear until a clear jump cut is made. This video was made by a member of the Outwood Community Video, a group dedicated to learning about film making and film equipment. This could have been someone's first attempt at working with an effect.

No doubt, this is far more interesting to look at than the stupid photos from the pathetic orb craze that has swept so many easily influenced fools into thinking that bad photographs are ghosts.

Even if this is a hoax, it's worth a look.

Palo Cult found in Maryland?

I apologize to anyone who was a fan of this blog. I have not had the time to update.

In September, Black Transmission touched upon the historical existence of a large cult revolving around the practices of Palo Mayombe in Matamoros, Mexico. A highly aggressive religion that involves sacrifice and the use of human body parts.

Earlier this week, Maryland State Police were called to Cecil County where someone discovered a cauldron containing a human skull and bones. At this point, they do not know who the bones belong to, or how they ended up in the middle of Conowingo in a cauldron. They are presently being examined by the State Medical Examiner.

This blogger's immediate reaction is that this is someone practicing Palo Mayombe. Fox 45 News furthered this theory.

Italy hunts those who call on the dark

As we dive deeper into a time of turmoil, a reactionary movement towards faith has been sweeping across the mainstream. One has to question, however, what are people turning to? According to Italian officials, there is widespread concern that some in the boot of Europe could be turning to the Devil.

After a number of satanic cult related crimes that have occurred in the past year, the Italian police force is creating a satanic cult unit that will include detectives, psychologists and priests that have experience with the occult. The new unit will investigate religious movements that they feel could be a threat to public safety.

In February of 2005, a group of young Italians involved in a cult and heavy metal band, known as The Beasts of Satan, were convicted of ritualistically murdering two other cult/band members. The "beasts" beat, raped and buried their victims alive in a secluded area of woods after a drug induced black mass.

There is no doubt that there is paranoia in Italy over the existence of Satan. The center of the Roman Catholic Church, there are many old superstitions and beliefs that Lucifer will begin the final battle against God by taking control of the Vatican. Many have feared that we are coming closer to the day of the black pope, a pope that is secretly the emissary for the Devil.

Pope Paul VI furthered these fears in 1972. He said, "It is as if from some mysterious crack, no, it is not mysterious, from some crack the smoke of Satan has entered the temple of God."

Once again, the famous Father Malachi Martin said in an article featured in The Fatima Crusader, "Anybody who is acquainted with the state of affairs in the Vatican in the last 35 years is well aware that the prince of darkness has had and still has his surrogates in the court of St. Peter in Rome.”

Skeptics will say that this is nothing more than superstitious mumbo jumbo, and that the creation of an occult unit is a legalized witch hunt. Much like the Inquisition was a response to the wars, plagues and religious changes that occurred in Europe shortly after the Middle Ages, this unit is a reaction to a few incidents that have occurred during the troublesome times that face society today.

Of course, there is always the chilling thought in the back of one's mind that wonders if they may be hunting something that we do not fully comprehend.

Litvinenko Conspiracy Rundown

Was it the KGB? Was it polonium being smuggled to Chechen rebels to build a dirty bomb? No one seems to know right now what killed former KGB agent Alexander Litvinenko, but The Baltimore Sun ran a great article on what the chatter around the world intelligence water cooler is these days.

Everyone seems to agree, however, that the rift between East and West is beginning to grow once again.

Despite Russia's goals of entering the World Trade Organization and the European Union, its need to have sympathy for problem nations like Iran and North Korea have put it in an awkward category of speculation.

Russia's government didn't win any points last month by selling missile defense systems to Iran despite a call by Western nations to end arms transactions with the Middle Eastern country. With the mysterious death of Litvinenko, it all seems to be a repeat of Cold War antics.

So, get your shovels, dig a hole, and snuggle up with a couple copies of Red Dawn and Mad Max! Your post-apocalyptic fantasies could still come true!

NASA commits to colonizing the Moon; Mars may still hold the key to Life

NASA announced its plans to begin colonization of the moon by 2024 yesterday, and followed it up today with an announcement that there is evidence of flowing water on Mars. Perhaps, Steven Hawking's hopes of assuring the survival of the human race are not far off (See last Post).

While the colonization of the moon will act as a jump point for further exploration of space and serve as a place to mine resources, the implications of water on Mars opens a whole other door Many scientists have followed the Rare Earth hypothesis or the Drake Equation to estimate that complex life in the universe is rare. So rare, the chances are very close to zero. Evidence of life in any form on more than one planet in our solar system would not destroy this theory, but definitely deal it a harmful blow. The Rare Earth hypothesis, however, does give itself a buy out by saying microbial life may be abundant. It seems, however, that even this safety provision doesn't stop what could be the tipping of the scales.

People who believe the Moon is an alien made space station or that it was a mining colony for a previous civilization will be crying themselves to sleep. The great cover up about the Moon landings are falling apart. Of course, one could say the reason NASA has chosen the southern pole of the moon to start its permanent base is because the aliens have one at the north already.

Humans must Leave the Earth!

Stephen Hawking gave a rare interview to BBC last week. Known for his theories on black holes and time travel, the Cambridge academic said that mankind must look to colonize other planets as soon as possible to insure its survival.

Through out the centuries, mankind has survived a lot. Whether you believe that we will be wiped out by a super virus, global warming, nuclear war, or by meteors hurled at us by the Nemesis star that supposedly lies on the edge of our solar system, scientists believe that some of the human race will survive.

In other words, unlike our predecessor’s the dinosaurs, we are like cockroaches. If 99.9% of our planet's population of 6.5 billion was wiped out, there would still be 6.5 million people left to figure out what to do to survive and repopulate the planet. Thank god for survivalists.

If humans were to spread out across the cosmos, what would happen? Looking at the written works of Frank Herbert, humans would begin to adapt and evolve to whatever planet they inhabited. This would open the door for all kinds of branching off from the original species.

Those of you who really want to get crazy, should take a look at essays by Frank J. Tipler. Tipler predicts that as the universe flows towards the Omega Point or the end, there will inevitably be a civilization that will be able to either hold back the collapse of the universe or create a parallel universe generated by the energy given off from the universe's destruction. If you were completely depressed by the Cold Freeze Theory, you may take some comfort from his ideas.

PEAR Shuts Down

Anomalous research enthusiasts have been dealt a blow this month. Princeton Engineering Anomalies Research laboratory at Princeton University will be closing its labs and shutting its doors.

Researching strange phenomena like ESP and human consciousness, PEAR treated the paranormal in a scientific and educated manner. According to the laboratory’s founder, Professor Robert Jahn, anomalous phenomena are real and can be recorded and studied in a scientific manner despite the objections of mainstream science.

Although PEAR will no longer have a physical presence at Princeton, there have been no reports of PEAR eliminating its presence on the Web. Hopefully, its 38 project studies will remain available for the pubic to download.

Aztecs in the News

The Associated Press reported this week that a 14 ton Aztec monolith has been found in the Templo Mayor in Mexico City and could be the largest found to date.

The monolith was initially discovered during excavations earlier this month but researchers had no idea of how big this object was until this week. Archeologist also found an alter dedicated to the Aztec rain god Tlaloc. Buried in the depths of the Templo Mayor, the monolith resided in the most sacred temple of Aztec religion at the center of the civilization’s capital and is believed to be a calendar stone.

Like many of the Mesoamerican cultures in existence before and during their reign, the Aztecs had a very accurate calendar and extensive knowledge of the universe and its cycles. Their calendar, like their ancient neighbors the Mayans, also had cycles that determined what cycle the universe was in and its effects on the Aztec people. Once the cycles were up, the universe came to a violent close, destroying everything in existence.

Similar to the Hindu Kaliyuga, the Aztecs believed that they were living in the worst of the cycles and facing the last days. They believed that by establishing a good relationship with the gods through human sacrifice, they could avoid a little bit of the divine wrath. Knowing the gravity of the situation and what the gods were capable of, they figured they better get a move on things and carve people up by the bushel.

One of the most sacred of rituals that called for sacrifice was the New Fire Ceremony. Every 52 years, all fires would be extinguished throughout the Aztec capital. A person would then be chosen and taken to the top of the temple. A priest would then stretch the person over the alter and carve their heart out from their chest. Holding the heart high in the air, it would be offered to the heavens. A fire would then be started inside the chest cavity of the sacrifice victim, and the fire would be carried to all the temples for people to light their fires from. This ceremony is strikingly similar to the annual Celtic festival of Samhain.

Ireland's Exorcists want the Paranormal to be taken Seriously

Exorcists within the Catholic Church and the Church of Ireland have made a plea for an official forum to investigate paranormal events on the Emerald Isle.

Whether it is Saint Patrick’s battle of conversion over Ireland’s pagan natives or the conflict between Protestants and Catholics, a war of faith has always been present in Irish culture. Through folklore and a firm religious grip on politics, these earthly battles have been ultimately portrayed as a greater battle between good and evil. And what greater battle is there than that between God and the Devil for the human soul?

According to a BBC article released in 2000, exorcisms have been on the rise around the world. In 2005, the Roman Catholic Church organized a seminar that would instruct priests on how to deal with the latest demonic insurgence and paranormal activity.

Ireland, boasting one of the world’s most ancient Christian cultures, has been a stronghold of conservative values and has always been a fertile ground for breeding exorcists. Most notable is the late Father Malachi Martin, a former Jesuit priest and researcher of the occult.

In his book Hostage to the Devil, Martin reveals multiple cases that he was personally involved with. He describes demon possession to not only be the spitting of pea soup and craziness we see in the movies, but an attempt by the invasive entity to corrupt the person it inhabits and everyone and every thing around it. Like the priests who are calling for an official forum, he believed that the paranormal is a world that has been ignored for far too long.

A skeptic, I attempted to do a little research into this matter and called the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Although I could get no one official, an anonymous source did say that the diocese continues to perform exorcisms in the Baltimore area. Though exorcisms are far and few between, it was stressed that cases need to be approved by the Vatican and that it is a very involved process. The act of ridding a person from a demon can take years.

This is all interesting enough, but it does not prove that those claiming to be possessed are nothing more than very sick people in need of a psychiatrist and some good drugs.

But, perhaps that is what the Lord of Darkness wants us to believe.

In the case of Anneliese Michel, the inspiration for The Exorcism of Emily Rose, it is reported that the devil spoke through her and said, “Those who don’t even believe in my existence are the dearest to me.”

ABDUCT THIS!

Victim's compensation has been a hot topic the past few years, but the Germans are taking it to a new level. People claiming to be UFO abductees are seeking state compensation for trauma
suffered while being in the forceful hands of extra-terrestrials.

If any of the "victims" do win a case, they would be able to benefit from a German law that gives financial compensation and treatment to kidnap victims.

German lawyer Jens Lorek said that many people are just too embarrassed to admit they've been victimized by aliens and the issue needs to be recognized.

Until someone digs out an implant or drags an alien out of a space ship and can say that this is the guy who has been habitually kidnapping and raping them, the abductees of Germany will be waiting a long time before they will receive compensation.

Fortunately, the people asking for this aid are probably just freeloaders looking for the easy cash in.

Despite the claims of a bunch of deadbeats, the question does need to be asked. If aliens are abducting people, who is there to champion our species against these invaders?

Alien Resistance HQ and Alien Resistance Movement are two organizations dedicated to addressing this alleged threat to our species. Their opinions differ of who the invaders are, but both agree that ET has got to go.

No Funds for the MIB

New documents have been released to the public by the United Kingdom's Ministry of Defense concerning a government agency that was devoted to investigating UFOs.

According to an article in Monday's issue of The Guardian, the MoD made repeated attempts to cover up a government unit known as DI55. The Public Records Office recently declassified notes and internal letters that indicate multiple attempts to make files pertaining to DI55 immune from Britain's "30-year-rule.” Under this legislation any documents that were once classified are to be reviewed and released to the public after 30 years.

As stated in the article, the DI55 have been suspected by conspiracy theorists and UFO enthusiasts of being a government clean up crew for UFO activity and rampant disinformationists. DI55 has also been attributed to many of the alleged Men In Black encounters in that corner of the globe.

Unfortunately for the saucer beaters, the latest documents to be released by the Public Records Office do little to prove that aliens are visiting our planet. Despite it confirming that there was and is a military interest in UFOs, the suspense falls short when the documents reveal that the office in charged of investigating such cases was never given the ability to use public funds for proper analysis and field research.

One document described the situation and the complete uselessness of DI55 as humiliating to the MoD.

No X-files case hear boss, just plain old fashion bureaucracy at work. Paranoid folks in Great Britain can now pull more hair out knowing that if the aliens do come, there's not a damn thing their government can do about it. It's more important to keep up appearances and pay people to do nothing than do a job right.

If the conspiracy theorists have gained anything in this latest development, they can at least speculate that the official report on UFOs released in May by the MoD, which included data from DI55, was done equally half-assed.

Atlantis spots UFO, NASA blames trash bags

Space shuttle Atlantis was cleared to land Wednesday after delays from what NASA is describing as "space trash."

The shuttle's re-entry was initially delayed by reports of a large solid object that was flying at great speeds below the shuttle on Tuesday. NASA admitted that the object could not be identified, but quickly turned attention to the safety of the crew and said it could be part of the ship flying through space.

After finding that no pieces had fallen off Atlantis, NASA said they believed it to be trash bags that flew out of the cargo hold. After looking at the pictures NASA has released of trash bags floating through space and comparing it to the video Fox News was showing for over four hours on Tuesday, one can't help but sense that they may be grasping for straws.

To NASA's credit, they still say the object was unidentified in their Sept. 20 press release.

Pyramids?

The idea of a great civilization before known recorded history has been a popular theory for centuries. Throwing about names like Atlantis, Agharta and Thule, many have pointed to the pyramids in Egypt and Latin America as relics of the secret technologies and traditions of these alleged and forgotten civilizations.

The latest talk of where one of these unknown civilizations could have existed is in Ukraine. BBC News/Kiev is reporting that a large pyramid-like religious complex has been found in the town of Luhansk. Experts are now investigating the find.

Like many alleged archeological finds in Eastern Europe, this must be treated with caution. In June of this year, amateur archeologists with a crew of volunteers announced that they had found the remnants of a pyramid in Bosnia that would have dwarfed the pyramids of Egypt. After attracting the attention of National Geographic and a quick investigation by the European Association of Archaeologists, it was determined that the "pyramid" was nothing more than a large naturally formed hill. Despite the EAA's investigation, the team leaders at the dig site and Eastern European tabloids continued to say that it was a structure built by the Illyrians, the ancient ancestors of today's Albanians.

Fake archeological finds and occurrences of the paranormal are a dime a dozen in the former Soviet states. Due to the unstable economic climate of the region, reports are usually concocted to bring tourists and naive New Age types to a nitch of the world where few people tread.

As PT Barnum said, there is a sucker born every minute. Hopefully, the suckers that go tracking out to these alleged finds in search of Atlantis don't find themselves robbed, beaten, stabbed and passportless in the foothills of Eastern Europe.

The Triangle Question

Sightings of a strange triangular object over the skies of Hellesdon, just outside of Norwich, England, have investigators looking for more witnesses to the strange event. The United Kingdom's Evening News 24 reported that two people saw a large black three-sided object hover over neighborhood houses, emit a series of beams, and take off rapidly to the north.

One of the eyewitnesses has been identified as Austin Paxman, of Norwich. The second is said to be a civil aviation worker at Norwich Airport, who remains unidentified.

According to the Norfolk UFO Society, areas surrounding Norwich and Norfolk have been hosts to multiple sightings of strange aircraft over the past few years.

Like many other UFOs, the "black triangles" have been sighted around the world for decades. There are reports going back as far as the 1950's of strange triangular shaped objects floating through the skies.

What makes the triangle phenomenon different is the overwhelming amount of video footage and photographs that have been taken of the mystery crafts. The most notable is the March 13, 1997 sighting of a large triangular formation of lights hovering over the Phoenix, Ariz. skies. Witnessed by thousands of people, the incident attracted a large amount of media attention.

Explanations have varied from United States Air Force maneuvering drills to flairs. These attempts to discount the incident, however, do not explain the long period of time the lights were present in the sky, nor the complete lack of sound the object(s) produced while hovering over a major metropolitan area.

While reports of these aircraft appear across the globe, some investigators believe that people are witnessing top secret American test craft or misinterpreting sightings of the Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit, better known as the stealth bomber. No doubt in areas where military facilities are present, this is a serious possibility.

Whether it is government test craft or aliens cruising our skies, one must wonder what are these strange things.

Milk Carton Kid Conspiracy

A disturbing series of events has revived horrible conspiracy theories surrounding the 1982 disappearance of Johnny Gosch, a 12-year-old Des Moines, Iowa paper boy.

On Thursday, his mother, Noreen Gosch, received two photographs in the mail of her son and two other unidentified children bound and gagged. Authorities are analyzing the photographs, but believe that the prints are from 1982 and that it is Johnny in the photograph.

Many people remember Johnny Gosch as the first missing child to appear on a milk carton. Others, however, remember his disappearance as the case that started the child abduction panic of the 1980's.

Following further investigations by Ms. Gosch and private detectives, a grand conspiracy was concocted that not only was Johnny taken by child predators, but by a nationally funded satanic cult involved with child pornography and snuff films. Allegations of who was involved with this cult spread as far as Hunter S. Thompson, former president George H.W. Bush, numerous politicians and a phony journalist named Jeff Gannon.

Despite the debunking of many of these claims and the refusal of this blogger to believe such horrid accusations against the good Dr. Hunter S. Thompson, the idea of a ritualistic cult involving people from all parts of society is not one of fantasy. In the spring of 1989, a cult surrounding the practices of Palo Mayombe, a form of voodoo based upon practices from the Congo, was uncovered in Matamoros, Mexico after a Texas college student went missing during spring break.

Led by a drug dealing occultist, the cult kidnapped, tortured and sacrificed hundreds of people in hopes that their gods would allow them to safely traffic drugs over the United States border. The followers included not only drug runners and thugs, but doctors, policemen and other people of respectable practices.

After an event like that, the claims of Ms. Gosch and countless others may not be that impossible after all.

The pictures Ms. Gosch received are now on her site and were shown on the Fox News Channel. Due to the disturbing nature of the photographs, the link will not be posted on this blog. With a little googling, one can find them easy enough.

At first glance, it's easy to say that Johnny Gosch was a poor kid who was abducted and his real tragedy has been thrown to the side by ridiculous theories. This may be so, but after researching the case a bit, it is hard not to be rattled by the entire incident and the series of events surrounding it.

Paranormal Investigator dies at 79

Ghosthunters and believers in the paranormal are mourning the death of Amityville Horror investigator Ed Warren this week.

Warren, 79, died last Wednesday at his home in Monroe, Conn.

Lorraine and Ed Warren

A self-proclaimed demonologist and life long experiencer of the paranormal, he and his wife Lorraine co-founded the New England Society for Psychic Research in 1952. After investigating multiple New England hauntings, the Warrens built quite the following of individuals looking for proof of the other side.

Eventually, the couple began to make a living from their exploits and made their mark in the paranormal hall of fame by investigating the controversial Amityville Horror in 1976. After gaining notoriety, the Warrens opened a museum dedicated to the paranormal consisting of various items, mainly creepy dolls, from supposedly haunted sites.

Despite the respect that so many ghosthunters and hopeful afterlife believers give these folks, the Warrens were probably the biggest blow to paranormal research to hit the books. Because of their “do it yourself” attitude to investigating paranormal phenomena, the world is now filled with an outrageous number of people who see bad photography as proof of an existence after death.

Highlighted in shows like Sci-Fi Channel’s Ghost Hunters and countless other rip offs, people now believe that water spots, developing mistakes, and camera straps popping into camera frame are visual depictions of ghosts. Unfortunately, not enough people took photography as an elective in high school.

While ghosthunter societies around the world swap pictures of flash flares and developer smudges, some people are trying to make real headway in to what psychic and paranormal phenomena might be.

Princeton Engineering Anomalies Research, along with other scientific based organizations, has been investigating the boundaries of the human mind and consciousness since 1979. Although they have not brought forward conclusive evidence of ghosts, they have had many revealing studies that show us that there is more to human consciousness than our textbooks reveal.

This blogger is not one to spit on a dead man, so hopefully Ed Warren, wherever he may be, is in a better place and only been given a mild kicking for the debunkable photographs and the slew of crackpot followers he and his wife have given rise to.
