How To :

--> Log in as administrator
--> Go to (c:\windows\stystem32)
--> Take ownership of authui.dll
--> Replace it with authui.dll which you have just downloaded and paste it.
--> You will be notified that there is already the same file in that folder, click move but keep
both files.
--> Rename authui.dll to authuireal.dll
& then rename the authui(2).dll to authui.dll

--> Reboot to see the new boot orb.

How To:

After downloading GTalk Autoreply install it and run it. You’ll see a box like the one shown bove. Enter your username and password. Let's see how it functions:

Microsoft is offering users a chance to win a free copy of Windows 7 Ultimate as well as a Windows 7 T-shirt. Stephen L Rose, Sr community manager, Windows IT Pro Client, revealed that all that users needed to do was to fill out a short survey. The Redmond company has already put up the IT Pro Internet Habits – IT Pro Internet Browsing Survey, which can be accessed through this link. As the label of the survey indicates, the software giant aims to receive feedback on the browsing habits of respondents.

After answering the seven simple questions, users will be granted a chance to win a free Ultimate SKU of Windows 7 and a T-shirt to go along with it. Microsoft has not indicated any sort of participation limitations at this point in time. Moreover, users who want to take the survey will need to fill in their email address and their country of residence, suggesting that the initiative is valid worldwide.

Essentially the survey is designed to provide Microsoft with an insight on the number of computers participants use, their preferred browser, as well on how they manage anonymous Internet browsing, and the deletion of cache and history data.

Microsoft is gearing up to make Windows 7 available to the public on October 22, 2009. The Redmond company confirmed the general availability deadline officially, and indicated that Windows 7, just as Windows Vista, would be launched globally. Ahead of GA, the software giant is preparing to wrap up the next iteration of the Windows client come next month. Windows 7 will be released to manufacturing in the second half of July 2009. However, Microsoft has already started planning details of the Windows 7 launch with its partners, both from the retail and the OEM channels.

Patched UxTheme Files for Windows Vista SP2

In the last post, we provided you with VistaGlazz to patch system files so that Custom Visual Styles can be used but for those who want to do it manually, here we have patched files for you.

Let's see the simple steps to follow:

How to :

1. Login as a user with Administrative privileges -or- have Administrative credentials ready

2. Navigate to %systemroot%\System32

3. Right-click uxtheme.dll and click properties.

4. Take ownership of the file and close dialogs.

5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for themeui.dll and shsvcs.dll

6. Right-click uxtheme.dll and click properties.

7. Give yourself (or group) Full Control permissions and close dialogs.

8. Repeat steps 6 and 7 for themeui.dll and shsvcs.dll.

9. Rename uxtheme.dll to uxtheme.old.

10. Rename themeui.dll to themeui.old.

11. Rename shsvcs.dll to shsvcs.old.

12. Copy patched files into %systemroot%\System32

13. Reboot (yes, this is really required)

14. Enjoy!

Microsoft has released Windows Vista Service Pack 2 & as we’ve come to expect custom style are still not supported. Therefor it’s my great pleasure to announce the release of VistaGlazz 1.2. In this version we’ve changed the following:

- Windows Vista SP2 support
- Major changes to the patching technique
- Asynchronous (read: speedier) start-up
- Few bug fixes/optimizations to both installer/VistaGlazz

I’ve tested the new release with my trusty virtual machines (SP1 and SP2 in both x86 and x64), but the new patching technique of course might not for your specific system. Remember to create a system restore point before you start patching. Refer to the VistaGlazz help file for more information.

To everyone using an earlier version of VistaGlazz. You can uninstall your old version and install the new version. You don’t have to unpatch your system, the new and the old version are compatible.

There are a lot of popular sites which don’t have RSS feeds to notify you of new content updates. But there is a way to get all the updates of these type of sites.

If you use Firefox then install Update Scanner firefox extension to monitor web pages for updates. Useful for websites that don’t provide Atom or RSS feeds.

When a change is detected, a notification window is displayed. Click the blue up-arrow on the bottom status bar to show the Update Scanner sidebar. Webpages that have been updated are shown in bold. Similar is the Firefox add-on Page Update Checker

Boot into SAFE MODE when F8 not working

We all use F8 Key to boot into SAFE MODE but what will happen when F8 key doesn't work. Then still can boot into windows using this little trick.

Let's see the trick:

1) Click on Start Menu and choose RUN

2) Type msconfig and press enter.

3) Now, under the Boot tab check the box “Safe boot” & make sure the radio button below is
set to “Minimal".

4) Next time you start your computer, it will boot into SAFE MODE.

Note: Repeat the process and UNCHECK the Minimal to boot computer in Normal Mode.
