Perfume In a Pill

Ahh… the sweet scent of sweat. It’s not often you see those words in the same sentence.

No, this isn’t a marketing ploy for smelly, sweaty gyms; in fact, the makers of Swallowable Parfum are attempting to change the way we smell — from the inside out.

Forget spritzing scent over your wrists or neck, you could soon be popping a pill that delivers fragrance directly into the body, turning your skin into an ‘atomiser’.

Or, to put it another way, your perspiration will become your perfume. And, because everyone’s metabolism is different, the scent molecules that are released through the skin when you sweat will be unique to you.

The downside? You’ll have no idea what the fragrance will be like until you pop your pill — and if you don’t like it, you’re stuck with it for as long as it takes to work its way out of your system.

Although the pill is still in development, the idea is not as far-fetched as you might think.

Breast Health Advocate Evelyn Lauder Dies at 75

NEW YORK — Evelyn Lauder, a member of the Estee Lauder cosmetics family who helped create the pink ribbon symbol for breast cancer awareness, has died. She was 75.

Estee Lauder Cos. spokeswoman Alexandra Trower says Lauder died Saturday at her Manhattan home of complications from nongenetic ovarian cancer.

Evelyn Lauder worked for more than 50 years for the company, holding many positions and overseeing the development of fragrances and other products.

But she is best known as a champion of breast cancer research and for helping to create the pink ribbon campaign in 1992.

She was born Evelyn Hausner in 1936 in Austria and fled Nazi-occupied Europe with her parents to the U.S.

She was married to Leonard Lauder, the son of Estee Lauder and chairman emeritus of the company.

Review: Had enough of the Jersey Shore? We think not. Jersey Shore Cosmetics, a small sun care company in South Jersey is launching a magnificent fragrance which just may change your thinking about New Jersey and more specifically the Jersey Shore.

"This fragrance has nothing to do with the network television show" said Jacquelyn Quattro, President of Jersey Shore Cosmetics. We wanted our fragrance to be a little sophisticated, but not too serious. We also wanted to shine a positive light on New Jersey said the New Jersey native.

We have been in the development stages of our sun care products for some time. There is so much that goes into developing a product which has no harsh chemicals and fragrances, and meets all of our criteria.

There are so many sun products on the market..we knew that we had to have a really positive point of difference. Our cosmetics and sun line consist of very few and select products, each developed with the utmost attention to quality ingredients.

The Fragrance, aptly named 'Jersey' will precede the Jersey Shore Sun products which will be launched in the spring of 2012.

The fragrance which consist of pure essential oils, and no harsh chemicals, was formulated to rival the best designer scents on the market. The wild flowers and Italian Citron of Jersey perfume will have you visualizing the Jersey Shore as a beautiful beach. "We realize that many will purchase the fragrance for the packaging" said Quattro. "..but we have paid special attention to the scent which is very important.

Jersey by Jersey Shore Sun Eau De Parfum will be launched with a limited amount of pieces during this holiday season, and then launched again in the spring along with the Jersey Shore Sun, sun care line. Once it is sold out during the first launch, it will not be available again until the spring" said Quattro. " I would say that it will be well worth the wait, if you are not fortunate enough to get it the first time around."
