A little over a week left...

Man after 4 LONG months we will be closing on our house this coming FRIDAY!!!! I can hear angels singing. I am so excited I can hardly stand it. Ok so no one told me how frustrating building can be!! There have been so many things that I have not been super impressed about, but also there are something I am. I just wish that the builders wouldn't do things just to get them done, maybe take a little more time and make it look nice!!! That is all i'm asking. Just makes more work for them to go back and do it again! I will post pics and details on a different post of some of the things I was stressed about and let me know if you think I am being too picky or you would be the same way... (to be continued)
ANYWAYS I thought I would share some more fun photos of the house...

KIDS "ABOUT ME" POSTER

My daughter Ally was the VIK (very important kid) at her school this week and she needed to do an "about me" poster. So I decided I wanted to design something she can keep forever. I wanted it to be very personal too, so I left all the writing for her to do, when it was printed. I didn't want to spend a bunch of money for the printing so I just sized this as a 20x30 and printed it at Costco for $8.00. SWEET!! It really turned out adorable....

I literally have been on pinterest and scrambling at Tjmax, Homegoods, Tai pan, Target, Downeast home and many more in search for decorations for my new home!! EEk They are coming along quick. Stucco is now on and Sheetrock up and mudded. I think they will be painting next week! Although I don't have the MOST recent photos here are some from the other day.

I know you are so excited you can hardly stand it, right? HA HA

anyways I wanted to share some pinterest ideas with you on what I am imagining for the house.

I'm LOVING the neutral tones with subtle pops of color and rustic accent pieces. SIMPLICITY is what I want to be surrounded by! I am getting so anxious and cant wait start pulling things together to see the finished product is going to look like. My mind wont stop, therefore I have lost a lot of sleep thinking about this dang house. I'm ready for it to be done now! Until then I will still be loosing sleep and spending money I shouldn't for decor. :) I am going on a date with the hubs tonight for ideas on a couch/sectional. Still cant decide what I want to do... We shall see what I fall in love with! :)

So I seriously have been wanting a project to do in a house of my own for a LONG time. The house is coming along but I am wanting it to go faster..

I know I need to be patient, at least that's what my husband keeps telling me :)

I have been deciding what to do in the kids rooms and I thought I would share a couple ideas I had for...

I have a new found LOVE for restoration hardware. I absolutely adore the weathered rustic look but I do not want that as the main focus in my house (although I will have a few rustic fun touches), I decided to have Rhetts room will be the rustic room. :) I want it pretty rugged (I of coarse will add a touch of vintage football (request from Mr. Collins) yet still little boyish. Make sense? Anyways those were just some Ideas that I had for my little/big boys room. I do not want to spend a crap load on the decor, so I figure I can have fun going to yard sales and thrift shops to find what I need. This room is perfect for that! What do you think? If you have any suggestions on how to or where to get some fun rustic pieces in the Salt lake valley or online, please do share :) have a fantastic Easter weekend!

There has been a change or two...

Notice the new blog?? Well you also might notice the change in the name! I have officially changed to Tiffany Collins Design. I have been presented many wonderful opportunities this past year. Not only am I designing cards and invitations but I also have been doing some interior design and home staging on the side. Yes exciting, I know right! EEK!! There will be a lot of changes going on in the next while with my blog AND OF COARSE MY LIFE! I am going crazy not being able to change up my house, but I have been lucky enough to start doing the interior designing stuff in other peoples homes (stay tuned this is going to be fun!)
Oh and I have received quite a few emails about my weight loss journey and I will be updating that VERY soon. I am on a new plan and it is helping me get that last 10 ~~dumb ass~~ stingy lbs off. I am very happy with how its going! More and that later.

Ally's Garden Fairy Birthday party!

The Fairy birthday party was a success! It turned out so adorable! Let me share some of the details with you....

Ok so here was her invitations. I loved the way they turned out. It has such a magical feel to them! They are now available at my etsy store HERE

The food setup was fun. I love all the details that were put into everything. water bottle lables (also available just contact me) to the cake, to the decor.

The fairy houses were SO much fun to make. I have to give a HUGE thank you to my mother-in-law who LOVES fairies. Most of the decor was able to happen because of her. It truly did have such a magical feel with the little fairy houses everywhere. My little Birthday fairy was in heaven along with all the other little fairies that came. I got the fairy house Idea from THIS blog. Check her blog out! LOVE TI!

This AMAZING/CUTE/FUN sign board was made by my step father-in-law and mother-in-law. They have a business that does engraving and everything they have done has been incredible. Anywhere from engraving glass cookware for weddings, to engraving info on personal guns, pocket knives, etc., to a stinken cute sign for a fairy party! If you want more info let me know. I will be posting their website soon.

I got this banner idea from... where else... PINTEREST!!

I had all the kids sit down and make their fairy wish. After they had in all written or drawn down (on paper below) I then had them fingerprint it so it would come true. IT WAS A HIT!! (BTW you can download the "make your fairy wish" page for FREE HERE

As the little fairies entered the fairy garden, they received fairy wings, wands, and a halo.

I also took their picture before they entered the fairy garden!

My mother-in-lay is so dang incredible. She had such an amazing fairy costume that was made and she came a Fairy Grandma. Ally felt so loved. Fairy Grandma was so amazing and truly was such a HUGE hit!

So we came up with an Idea that all the kids would pick their fairy name. We choose quite a few first, middle and last names for them to choose from. Example FIRST: Glitter MIDDLE: Autumn LAST: Dew.

Of coarse the boys that came didn't want frilly girly names so I put my husband on the job thinking he would do more masculin names, I was a ~~little surprised~~ not really surprised when I saw Fart Pirate Butt, or Stinky Toe Sparkle. Oh the boys thought it was great! ha ha, leave it to the men!

My little cousin is such an amazing little artist, She was so sweet to come and do face painting for all the kids. They loved it!

This was one of my FAVORITE parts of the party. Fairy Grandma had story time. I loved how all the little kids were so attentive and asked questions. It was such a sweet part of the party!

LOL just had to throw this one in there. All the MEN were so funny and all of them put sweet little wings on! Everyone thought this was great! Thanks for being such troopers you manly men!!

Tough Mudder 2012

Oh goodness gracious, what did I get myself into!! ha ha. It is official, next weekend I will be doing the TOUGH MUDDER! On my weight loss journey I started joining these 4 guys to loose weight and push each other and boy we did just that. Boys can be brutal! I think I only cried like two or three times! LOL No it actually was so much fun and really pushed me to excel in what I never thought I could excel in! I was asked a while ago if I wanted to do it and of coarse I couldn't turn it down, especially with these men, they would give me crap and call me a pussy or something like that! LOL I am super nervous and actually in a weird way pretty excited. ~~My only fear is I keep the 4 of them behind.~~ nah, Not going to happen. (I just keep telling myself that!) Ok so the tough mudder is 10 to 12 mile obstacle. You jump in ice cold water, go through fire, electricity, and all pretty much in MUD!! It is going to probably be the hardest thing EVER, but when I cross that finish line I am going to be SO proud of myself!! So I am asking all of you to keep me in your thoughts and cross your fingers I cross the finish line! I will post pictures before and after!! If you have done the tough mudder and have any tips PLEASE share!

Headband organizer

Hey everyone hope you are having a wonderful Friday! I am finally able to sit down and blog a little bit more. I forget how busy the summer gets, and now that my kids are getting older I find myself ruinning double errands, cleaning my house more than twice a day etc. I am sure a lot of you SAHM now what I am talking about! So anyways it is good to be back blogging more than once a month! Ha ha Alright lets get to it.. I wanted to share with you my new headband organizer. I have seen so many adorable ones on pinterest and new I had to make one myself. It really is a super easy project and ends up to be SUPER ADORABLE!!

ok the materials needed for this project are:

burlap
empty armorall plastic container or an oatmeal container. Either one works
candlestick ($1 store or D.I. I had one lying around the house)
glue gun
scissors
button
spray paint (optional)
glue

So let me show you step by step:

Spray your candlestick color of choice. I used Krylons catalina mist, I am obsessed with this color right now!
Find your container and clean it out.
Cut your burlap to size and wrap it around container gluing the edges. I had my fabric 2 1/2 inches longer on top and left the bottom part clean of no fabric (you'll understand why in step 8)
Fold in edges.
Glue any loose ends.
Add a button or flower or any embeleshment to the top to make it come together nicely.
Grab your painted candlestick. If you want to make it look worn use sandpaper and make it a little rough around the edges.
So as I mentioned in step 3 to leave bottom part free of fabric is so that you can glue the container on top of the candlestick and let dry. It would be much harder to adhear with fabric on the bottom. (Make sense :) (for the glue I used gorilla glue)
TADA you have a cute headband organizer and it makes a cute decor piece for the little ones bathroom!

Chevron interchangeable Picture frame!

OK FINALLY doing a post!! Hallelujah! So I am redoing my daughters room in Gray, pink and mint colors! I cant wait for it to be finished so I can show you the whole room! But here is a little project I did to make a big statement piece for SUPER cheap!

ok here are the steps:
1. Go to home depot and get a piece of MDF board (any size you want) paint it the color you want and let it dry, then tape off board in a chevron pattern
2. Paint every other one the color you want (I painted mine an off white)
3. Take 3 frames (more or less depending on size of MDF board) I spray painted them a mint color (I used Catalina mist from krylon)
4. Take some fine sandpaper and just smudge the board to make it look worn.
5. eyeball where you want the frames then once you like how they are placed, measure to place the screws.
6. hang frames!
I loved hanging the frames on the boards that way I can change out the pictures whenever I want! This project cost me $2.00 for the prints. I already had the other items just laying around!
