I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Thanks for all of your support sharing and donating to our Kickstarter. We have reached 17% of our goal and have 25 days to go! Lina and I launched the official Kickstarter for our Advanced Style Film today. We can't wait to see the response. After filming these incredible ladies for over two years we are ready to wrap up the production of our film by the end of Summer. We celebrated the launch of my book last night at the New Museum with all of the Advanced Style Ladies. Click Here to see some great images from the party and I'll try to post some soon as well. For everyone who had ordered the book on Amazon, thanks for all of the wonderful reviews. On another note my dear friend Ilona Royce Smithkin is heading to the coast to spend the summer in Provincetown. I will miss her dearly, but hope to make a visit to her studio by the sea sometime in July.

Today is a very busy day for Advanced Style. My book is finally released and can be purchased in bookstores worldwide!!!!! My parents came in town to celebrate a great event that I am putting on with NOWNESS.com tonight to celebrate. I also had the wonderful opportunity to interview one of my favorite style icons, Wanny Di Filippo for NOWNESS. Check out the video above and the full interview HERE. My book is finally is coming out tomorrow and my family and friends have come to New York to celebrate. On the way to the theater with my parents, my dad spotted this gorgeous lady across the street. All the Cohen's have become great style scouts. Mrs Heidi Roberts above is not only super fashionable, but she is also the president and founder of a charity which raises money in support of endangered species. Advanced Style In Montreux

I was thrilled when this wonderful lady let me take her photo on my day trip to Montreux, Switzerland. When I showed someone this image they remarked, "She must have beautiful when she was younger." Although this may have been meant as a compliment I wonder why they hadn't just remarked on how beautiful the woman is now. This is something that I often hear. Isn't it possible for people to become more beautiful as they get older?

Advanced Style x smart urban stage: How Do We reNew The Meaning of The Word New?

I was recently asked to participate in an online project developed by the company behind smart Car. The smart urban stage is a project that seeks visual answers to the question of how to build a better city. They are using this online platform and working with creatives throughout the globe who pose questions about the future of our cities which are then answered by other visual artists in their chosen medium. Myriam Laroche, founder of Eco Fashion Week posed the question, " How can urban dwellers reNew the meaning of the word new?" This past weekend Carola and I had so much fun playing dress up at Lynn Dell's Off Broadway Boutique. We picked out this wonderful dress and Carola joked that she looked like a geriatric Carmen Miranda. Carola is always so open to trying new things and she was a perfect model for this stunning dress.

Ruth has more energy than most people half her age. At 100 years old she makes it a point to stretch everyday and attend Pilates classes once a week. Ruth told me that even if she doesn't feel like exercising she tells herself, " Just do it" and it always makes her feel better. Ruth looks elegant no matter what she is doing. She says, "I wear lipstick, even when I have to go to the hospital. You never know who you are going to meet." I am honored to be able to spend time with such an amazing woman and hope she can influence all to stay active.

It's always an honor and a pleasure to photograph dancer, Jacquie "Tajah" Murdock. Not only does she continue to dance into her 80s, but she also dresses up everyday no matter what. Jacquie grew up in Harlem, always dreaming of being a model and a dancer-She knew at five years old that she wanted to dance. A few years ago The Apollo Theater recognized Jacquie as a legendary dancer and one of her dreams came true. I hope Jacquie can inspire everyone to stay active and never forget their dreams.
