Who-sa Noosa? Noosa Yoghurt Review

When I was younger I wasn't much of a yogurt eater. I wasn't into the taste or the texture. Years past and my tastebuds have changed and I've actually started eating and enjoying it more often. Hey! It's good for you. So one day I posted in my Instagram this yogurt I was eating and enjoying and my cousin commented that I should try Noosa. Well, I've never heard of Noosa at that time and I wasn't even sure where I could get one.

Then I thought, hmmm! I should check out their website and see what store carries them. I was in luck. Target and some Walgreens actually carries Noosa. I was so excited 'coz there's a Target not far from us.

So, I emailed Noosa and I was so excited when they got back to me. A few days later something showed up in the mail and I received 8 free Noosa coupons and 2 cool stickers. I couldn't wait to get to the store and grab some. I just wanted to taste and see what my cousin was raving about.

Well , enough about my gabbing and let me tell you a little bit about this awesome and great tasting Yoghurt.

From a Land Down Under

You honestly can’t believe how beautiful it is in Noosa until you’ve seen it with your own eyes. Tucked away on Australia’s Sunshine Coast, this little shire is surrounded by sandy beaches, cool fresh rivers, and lush rainforests. There’s even a national park, where you can go walkabout and spot sleepy koalas swaying in the gum trees above.

You see, we don’t think it’s a coincidence that the recipe for our uniquely thick and velvety, deliciously tangy/sweet yoghurt was created in such a paradise.

So here's my review and link if you want to try this deliciousness.

Noosa is by far the best yogurt I've ever tasted. I'm not just saying this because I got them for free. It's because it is. I can't even describe the taste. You have to get one. The creamy-ness of it is just perfect. They have 10 flavors and the store I went to only carried 6 but I only liked 4 of the flavors. I wished they had mango but they didn't :-( O well.

So I got Strawberry Rhubarb, Lemon, Raspberry and Blueberry. My fave was the Raspberry and Lemon. You can taste the fruit in each bite. Like I've said before, I've tried a lot of yogurt and to compare this with the other brand it's just crazy.

Love this yogurt and will definitely be buying more. I just saw that BJ's wholesale clubs carries them as well, so I guess I will be taking a trip there sometime this week.

DIY How to fix your broken nail with an ordinary tea bag

Ever had this problem? Trying to open the door, open a can of soda or in my case trying to open my washer. See, trying to do good deeds by doing some chores and then your nail breaks. UGH! This was not a tiny break, this was almost coming off my nail bed break.

I guess I have to fix it now or my thumb nail would look weird so short and the rest of my nails are pretty and long.

It's a good thing this happened at home and not somewhere, where I won't have my trusty Kiss nail glue and some good old tea bags laying around.

Well, first you need to clean your nails.

Grab your glue and a tea bag (empty the tea out first) then cut a piece of the bag to fit over your broken nail.

Normally I would use my Kiss silk nail wrap, but I was out so this was the next best thing. It's just as sturdy and works just as great.

I cut up enough to cover my nail. Cover you nail with the glue and place the piece onto your nail. Push it with a stick to smooth it out or place a saran wrap (cling wrap / plastic) over and smooth it out without getting stuck to the glue. Let it dry.

Trim the edge or just use a nail file. Repeat the process if you want to double it, you can, but I only used 1 layer.

I buffed it until it's not as visible anymore then I coated it with another layer of glue and let it dry.

Buff lightly and it's all done. You can paint it after :-)

Ok, so on with my review. I've had a great opportunity of receiving several boxes of these delicious chocolate. I can remember my very first Guylian. My mom bought it at this store that was closing and I was in love ever since. That was about 20 years ago. I've said this enough times. I am not a big fan of sweets, but this is something I would never say no to. I can honestly say that this is by far my favorite chocolate out there, and for me to say that, it must be good.

I wasn't going to share but, how could I possibly eat all these. So, I shared, lol. I gave some to my girlfriend, my mom and a box even went to the Philippines to my Grandma ( I sent her the fancy one with the bow for Christmas).

Someone asked me why this chocolate is different and why I love it so much. I just tell them because it's well made and it actually taste divine. The smell alone would make me want to lick the box. It does look too pretty to eat, but it still ends up in my mouth. The texture is rich and so creamy that it melts in your mouth like butter.

How to use your Donut Hair Bun - DIY

Over the years my hair has gotten thinner and I'm loosing tons of them every day. I've always had long hair, even when I was a kid and I love doing my hair. Then when I had kids I didn't have a lot of time doing fancy stuff to it so most of the time I just tie it in a ponytail and go on with my day.

So when I saw a friend of mine and she had a bun on her head I asked her what it's called and so I went and bought myself a Conair Bun Maker Set.

It was easy to do and I love it. Keeps intact for the whole entire day and I don't have to worry about my hair getting in the way of my daily chores.

Oven Roasted Ranch Corn on the Cob Recipe

It's still winter here in NY and I'm craving for some delicious fresh corn. Too bad I have to wait for another 4-5 months :-( so kicking myself for posting this now. I made this last summer and didn't get the chance to post it. I can just imagine how this would taste right now. I feel like I want to lick the screen but I won't. LOL!

Anyway, that's just a weird image of someone licking a computer screen hahaha. I'm going insane with this crazy winter we've had. I'm not even sure if it will ever end. Looking out the window, it's beautiful outside with the sun being out, but the ground is covered with snow. UGH! I CANNOT wait until spring or warmer weather is here.

So here's what you need:

1 Stick butter, melted
1 packet Hidden Valley Original Ranch Salad Dressing & Seasoning Mix
8 ears fresh corn on the cob (cleaned and husked) I left the end for easy pick up or to hold

What to do:

Preheat your oven to 425F
Husk your corn and clean. Place on an oven safe aluminum pan.
Melt butter and mix most of the ranch powder. You can save some to sprinkle after the corn is done cooking or you can mix it all in the melted butter, it's up to you. It doesn't matter, it will taste good no matter what.
Brush corn with the ranch butter mix and bake for 20-25 minutes or until it's soft and turning brown.
Take it out of the oven and brush it with ranch butter mix if you still have some left and enjoy!

Soooooo, good!!! I seriously cannot wait until summer to have some more of these.

Slowly coming back, it's been a long 2 months

Hi everyone! The past few months have been a crazy whirlwind, that's why I haven't posted anything on the blog. Now that my chaos have slowed down a bit I can go back into swing. I have tons of giveaways and reviews to do, it's way over my head. To those who aren't a Facebook follower or my friend on Facebook, few things had happened and that's why I haven't posted anything for a while.

I got really sick in November, got better. Then comes December and 2 days before Christmas we received a call from New Jersey that my brother was sick. So on the 25th we drove down there because he was in ICU with double lung pneumonia. Had the kids opened their Christmas present and then left with the presents all over the floor. The 26th my husband got sick so I had to drive to the Hospital for a couple of days visiting. Just as he was getting a bit better I got sick, which was on the 29th and I was so sick that hubby had to take me to the Doctors when we got home. I was down for about 2 weeks with the flu.

When I felt better, I had to catch up with houseworks and everything else that needed to be cleaned. I am also working (part-time) now so it's been a crazy and hectic schedule.

So, I apologize for not being here. Glad you're all so patient with me being gone this long. I am hoping to back into swing in a couple of days.

Carrington Farms Healthy Foods for the Healthy soul Flax Paks and Organic Coconut oil Review

These great products from Carrington Farms are not only healthy, they are also very delicious.

I received 3 individual packages of Flax Paks and a big tub of their Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, which is almost gone by the way.

I love the tub packaging and easy to open. I love love love the smell. It reminds me of when I was little when I used to visit the place where my mom worked. She worked at a COPRA place. Smells so good in there.

So far I've used the coconut oil on pretty much everything. That's probably why it's almost gone. I've made some Beef with leafy greens and carrots for dinner and the aroma and flavor was great.

I've also used it on other food I cook. It really does make a difference in taste.

With the Flax Paks, I tried it on my cookie mixture. It was a actually pretty good. It didn't mess my recipe and it's healthy for my Family. The kids didn't even notice.

Specially now that the NY weather is getting colder, so I'm giving my flip flops and sandals a break. Although I might wear this over the summer too. Heck I might even wear it to sleep. That's how comfy it is. lol!

Oh and the reason I picked this design was because I wanted to wear it with my Halloween costume. Everyone loved it, specially the shoe. I went as a Chola, lol. ** Just so everyone knows, I DO NOT SMOKE! That is a fake cigarette.

Back to the shoe. I wore it all night and my foot didn't hurt. I was super comfy throughout the night. I was the designated photographer so I never had the chance to sit. I was running all over the place

I mean what else can I say about this shoe? I love it! I seriously love it.

I'm lucky to have kids that love to eat their salad. I've been giving them salad since they were old enough to eat solid food. Then I introduced them to croutons :-) and not just plain old boring no taste croutons. I added Mrs. Cubbison’s Butter & Garlic croutons. Hmm-um I could eat these by the handful.

Canvas Press Review 16 x 20 x 1.5

I finally have something to hang on our empty wall. It has been empty for the longest time because we had this awful looking TV stand in front of it and it covered the whole wall. There was really no point of hanging anything on the wall since you wouldn't be able to see it anyway. And now I do. This beautiful Canvas Print from Canvas Press.

I saw their link from another blogger and I really admired the print so much that I didn't hesitate to contact them. They agreed to send me a beautiful Canvas in exchange for a fair review.

I was super excited when I received the package within 5 days of putting the order in. It came in a big sturdy box and it was wrapped beautifully in a thick plastic inside and safe from the element. The great part too was that it came ready to be hang on the wall. You can pretty much take it out of the box and right straight to your wall.

They sent me a 16 x 20 x 1.5 and it was the perfect size for the wall. Which is by the way now open since I moved the furniture around. YEY! The canvas is sturdy and well made. Thick and just perfect.

Newman's Own Organics or NOO products are pretty good. I received all these full size items and have then shared and serve to our friends and mostly families when they come over. Most of them were eaten by my own family. We all had our own favorites, but I will get to that in a bit. I would like to talk about NOO first.

Newman's Own Organics was established as a division of Newman's Own in 1993, and became a separate company in late 2001. The sale of Newman's Own Organics products generates money for the Newman's Own Foundation to give away. Since 1982 Paul Newman and the Newman's Own Foundation have donated more than $350 million dollars to educational and charitable organizations worldwide.

Certified organic by Oregon Tilth. Ingredients have been grown on farms that have not used artificial fertilizers or pesticides for three years or more. The farms and processors have been certified by an independent third party. Kosher certification by Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America, 333 Seventh Avenue, New York.

The front of each product features an American Gothic "Pa" Newman and daughter Nell in appropriate costume with an accompanying legend on the package; each variety has a color band or colored packaging for easy identification.

Ok, now that you know a little about NOO we can talk some more about what we liked and what we loved. The mints were my cousins faves. I love mints but I'm more of a gum person. I tried and it was actually pretty good.

These chocolate bars were mine. I didn't even share them with anyone. LOL! YUM!

Anything sour goes to my kids. They loved the licorice, they are definitely kids approved. Although they said they need to be more sour, but they ate it and enjoyed it. I kept the mango. I love anything mango :-)

My husband and his dad shares the chocolate cups. YUP! All 3 and they didn't even share. From the smile on their faces you could tell they wanted some more and I wasn't about to share any of my bars.

I haven't opened the fig, but the Newman-O's is all gone. This is one of my husbands favorite and he even told me to get some more from the store. Actually more like "Please email NOO and tell them to send me some more of those" LOL!

These 2 are also gone, and yup! You guessed it, my husband ate these too. He loved them. he should start his own review blog. LOL!

The ginger snap is another one of his fave. He likes to eat them at night with his milk, hahaha! Alphabet cookies are a hit with the kids. Those are tiny enough for one bite and I love that. I also love the fact that it's chocolate.

The prunes hasn't been opened either. The popcorn on the other hand has been gone the first week. We love popcorn in this house and they don't last long here.

GONE, GONE, GONE. Yes, they were all good.

Hey Guys!!! Let's talk about hair. Most of my life I've worn my hair long. Although I have tried, short, super short, medium, wavy, curly, straightened, colored and pretty much anything you can imagine, my hair has seen it all. Well, I can't say all since I've never shaved my head.

I've heard a bunch of comments from people about my hair. I love your hair long and straight or I love it curly. You know where I'm getting at.

So a few weeks ago, Flat Iron Experts were kind enough to send me a KQC X-Heat Tourmaline Ceramic Flat Iron, Thermal Shine Spray and the Iron Stand to review and I was super excited since I'm in need of a new hair straightener.

Tried it and LOVED it! I love straightening my hair when I get a chance. I don't blow dry my hair, unless it's absolutely necessary. I let it air dry so it naturally curls or does the wave when I let it be.

You can see (a few photos below) what my hair looks like when I let it air dry. I don't remember my hair being so wavy like that growing up. I've always had stick straight hair and for some reason the older I get the curlier my hair gets. LOL! Thanks goodness for KQC X-Heat Tourmaline Ceramic Flat Iron or I would have crazy hair all the time or up in a bun.

What I love about the KQC X-Heat Tourmaline Ceramic Flat Iron is the heat setting goes from 140 all the way 410. So if you have super fine thin hair you use the lowest setting and for the coarse hair you use the higher setting. I had mine set at 250 - 280 (normal - medium hair).

Now, the spray. I sprayed each section of my hair before running the iron. It made it super shiny, soft, smooth and I love the smell. (just make sure if you have a linoleum floor or hardwood to be careful because it will make your floor slippery, so lay out some towels or spray over a sink).

Love the suctions on the bottom of the Iron Holder. It keeps it from falling and getting yourself hurt or burn.

Yup! My hair is that ~~wavy~~ messy when I let it air dry, lol. I love it, don't get me wrong, but sometimes I love my hair straight too.

I did one side so you can see the difference between the 2. See how shiny it is? Love it!

Oh, I wanted to tell you first about what I liked in the package I received. My fave was the Walnut Brownie, it had a little hint of mocha on it, well at least that's what my tastebuds / brain was telling me. The reason why I loved it was because it wasn't too sweet. I also ate most of the cookies. I did share with the kids. You know, I get one they get one. LOL! The other 2 mini brownies I didn't even get to taste, which I know was good. My friend was over and she ate both. She didn't complain and was asking for more, so coming from her, it's 2 thumbs up.

Breakfast goodies with Nostalgia Cupcake Bakery Review

Breakfast :-)

Breakfast is usually chaos in our home during school days, specially with 2 kids. 2 growing kids that is. They love their food too much. Although sometimes they want cereal, but most of the time I try to make them something warm to eat before school. Specially with the cold weather they need something to warm them up.

Weekends are different. We sleep in and take our time in the morning. So last Saturday the kids wanted pancakes, sausage, omelet, bacon, ham and who knows what they wanted. They were just blabbing their orders. LOL! I figured this would be the best time to use my Cupcake Baker. Thanks to Nostalgia Electric for sending me their product for this review. I know it says cupcake baker and I thought that this is for making cupcakes only. It's not! I used it for breakfast. I wanted to make something in 1 pot/ pan and not make 10 different things. This is the perfect time to use my Cupcake Maker.

I made my cinnamon pancakes and it was oh so good. I'm not a pancake person and I actually had to make a second batch so I can have some too. Yup! My kids ate all of it. The cupcake makers holds / makes 7 at a time and I had to do 3 batches so I can eat. Haha!

Seriously I'm not making this up. My daughter said "It's so delicious that you don't know how delicious it is". I swear I'm not making this up. I'm surprised her brother didn't say anything. Actually he did. He said he wanted more. LOL!

This is what I used for the pancake.

1 cup Aunt Jemimas Buttermilk mix

3/4 cup water

1/2 tsp. cinnamon

1 tbsp. sugar

Cut up banana's or any topping you want

Mix all the ingredients.

Drop them into the muffin pods. I put about a tbsp. or fill it almost to the rim. Close and let it cook for 5-7 minutes. Then all done.

When we got done with pancakes we moved on to potato, sausage and ham with eggs and cheese.

For the potato I used what we had on the freezer. Just plain Ore ida french fries cut up in cubes. Sausage and ham cut up. Eggs and a little bit of milk. Cheese

1. Fill the pods with whatever potato or meat filling you want. Potato on the bottom, meat on top.

2. Fill to the rim with the egg mixture.

3. Don't forget the cheese.

4. Close the lid and cook for 5-7 minutes.

Result is fluffy goodness eggs and my kids loved it. My daughter can't get enough of them. She wants me to use it all the time now. She said it's by far the best eggs I've made. Which is funny 'coz I make eggs all the time. HEH!?

She loves ham. She ate all the ham and 1 sausage.

So what do I think about the Cupcake Maker?

It's super easy to use.

Clean up is a breeze, all you have to do is wipe.

I love how it's non stick and the eggs and pancakes came out without getting stuck to pan.

My babies love the bite size and I do too.

Easy to tell when it's ready to use.

You can hide the cord in the bottom.

The color is sooooo pretty.

It doesn't heat up the whole house when it's 90F degrees outside.

You can make small batches.

Pumpkin Whoopie pie cookies with cream cheese filling Recipe

It's that time of the year again. Apples, pumpkin, pies, fall, cool breeze. Oh gosh, I hope we have many more hot weather. I'm not looking forward to colder weather, but I am looking forward to apple picking time and pumpkin pie.

You know who else loves pumpkin? My husband, my son, my mom, his mom, my cousin and her husband. LOL! I could go on. I should just give them the recipe on how to make the pie so they can make it at their own home. Well, the ones who aren't living with us.

Anyway, today is a pumpkin kind of day, I think. I was going to make the red velvet because the pumpkin can wanted to kill my toes, but then I couldn't find any red coloring, so back to pumpkin.

Here's what you need for the whoopie cookies:

3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon ground cloves
2 cups firmly packed dark-brown sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
3 cups 100% pumpkin puree, chilled (make sure it's really cold)
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

For the cream cheese filling:

3 cups confectioners' sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

What to do:

Make the cookies: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or a nonstick baking mat; set aside.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves; set aside. In another large bowl, whisk together brown sugar and oil until well combined. Add pumpkin puree and whisk until combined. Add eggs and vanilla and whisk until well combined. Sprinkle flour mixture over pumpkin mixture and whisk until fully incorporated.
Using a small ice cream scoop with a release mechanism, drop heaping tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, about 1 inch apart. Transfer to oven and bake until cookies are just starting to crack on top and a toothpick inserted into the center of each cookie comes out clean, about 15 minutes. Let cool completely on pan.
Make the filling: Sift confectioner' sugar into a medium bowl; set aside. In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat butter until smooth. Add cream cheese and beat until well combined. Add confectioners' sugar and vanilla, beat just until smooth. (Filling can be made up to a day in advance. Cover and refrigerate; let stand at room temperature to soften before using.)
Assemble the whoopie pies: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside. Transfer filling to a disposable pastry bag and snip the end. When cookies have cooled completely, pipe a large dollop of filling on the flat side of half of the cookies. Sandwich with remaining cookies, pressing down slightly so that the filling spreads to the edge of the cookies. Transfer to prepared baking sheet and cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate cookies at least 30 minutes before serving and up to 3 days.

I am telling you, you need to get some for your party. I mean come on! Who doesn't want to walk around with one of your hand free? Unless you're anti-social and was forced to come along and doesn't want to meet anyone, well then you should have stayed home. LOL!

DIY Easy way to HEM your jeans without cutting, but you can cut it LOL!

SHOUTOUT to all the shorties out there. Woop Woop!

The reason why I hemmed 4 pants today was when my daughter came out of her room and she had this pants on and it looked like she had flippers / swim fins on. Yup! She looked like she was ready to go deep sea diving or something. So I told her to go change and I will fix her pants. She then gave me that, you better fix that today so I can wear it tomorrow instead look.

Aaah pre-teen.

Anyway, I had to use google and looked around for the easiest way to hem kids pants and I ended up at REFASHIONMAMA's site. This is her DIY for hemming jeans and I thank you for the tutorial.

So here's what you do. Oh, before you do this. You might want to grab all the jeans you have that are long so you can do this all at ones. It took me less than 30 minutes to do 4 of my daughter's pants.

1. Measure where you want your pants to hit. Remember, if you like to wear heels to add extra on the bottom or you will end up with a capri. Which are pretty nice too. LOL! I needed to take 3 1/2 inches off. I measured it before I made her change. ** Yah I know it says 4 inches but you're supposed to measure above the hem line.

2. Then you divide it in half (again, measure from above hem line and not the bottom of the hem) I wasn't paying attention with the photo and I apologize. So in half and pin all the way around so that darn thing won't move on you. You really don't want to go out with a lopsided pants.

3. My sewing machine has one of those things in the middle, so when you have sleeves or for say jeans to sew you can just take it out and off you go. Pretty neat to me :-)

4. Make sure you pay attention to where your pins are and that your stitching lines match up. Now you start sewing.

5. Sew where the original hem is and just follow along until you get to the other side. Just make sure you backstitch in the end. Then you're pretty much done at this point, if you want.

6. At this point you can either cut the extra off or leave it just in case your kid has a growth spurt in the next couple of months.

7. Now you can turn the right side out and if you have an OCD like me you take your iron, even it out and press it flat.

8. See, all done :-)

The other 2 that needed to be hemmed.

This one I actually chopped the bottom part. I might need to get the serger out so it won't fray.

White Sauce Chicken Manicotti with Broccoli Recipe

Every time I look at this photo it makes me want to lick the screen. I'm serious. I love this recipe so much that it might be on my top 10 favorite food of all time. Spaghetti is my #1 :-)

This recipe is super easy to make and it's a fave in our home. What's not to like?

Protein and veggie in one.

Here's what you need:

1 can cream of chicken ( 10 3/4oz can)

1 1/2 cup water

4 oz. Velveeta cheese, cut it in cubes

2 cups fresh or frozen broccoli

12 uncooked manicotti shells

1 lb. boneless chicken breast (no skin) cut in strips

cooking oil or butter

salt & pepper to taste

1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

How to make it:

1. Heat the oven to 350F

2. Add oil into a medium pan (enough oil or butter) to brown chicken cook for 5-8 minutes until slightly brown add salt and pepper to taste. (Cool)

3. Place soup, water and velveeta cheese in a sauce pan and cook on medium heat and mix until cheese is all melted and well blended. Stir to prevent from burning.

4. Spread 1/2 of the sauce onto bottom of 9 x 13 baking dish.

5. Add broccoli into the remaining sauce in the pan and mix well.

6. Stuff the uncooked manicotti with the cooked chicken and place in baking dish.

7. Top with the remaining sauce mixture and broccoli and sprinkle parmesan cheese.

8. Cover with foil and bake for 35 - 45 minutes or until pasta is tender and done.

Make your own Body Wash DIY

I love my body wash. I used to buy them left and right and just have tons of different kind of body wash in my bathroom cabinets. Then I noticed that the price is going up. Without coupon you could spend $4 to $6 for 1 bottle.

So when I found THIS RECIPE to make your own body wash at One Good Thing by Jillee, I knew I had to try it. I mean come on, she sold me when she mentioned it was cheaper. Yup! I am ~~cheap~~ thrifty, ok cheap. LOL!

SO here's what I did. Bought 2 bars of Dove soap, I couldn't find the 3 bars and I figured I would use the Lever 2000 I have at home. Which I did. Grated them, just as I would when I make my

Homemade Laundry Soap. I keep all my soap making stuff in one spot so when I need it it's right there. Make sure these items you use for soap making are ONLY USED for just that. Don't be using them for your kitchen.

6 cups of water and place on your soap pan on medium heat (not boiling) and keep and eye on the pot and stir occasionally until the soap is all dissolved. I added a cup extra water because I used 1 different soap bar and I thought it would be thicker and it didn't get thicker. So next time I make it again I would stick to 6 cups.

You can let it cool in the pot for an hour before transferring or you can transfer it to a heat proof glass or jar or bowl. It will thicken as it cools.

See, mine isn't as thick as I wanted but it still works great. Would I make it again? Absolutely!

This time though, I will use the 6 cups of water it called for. :-)

Before and After room makeover FINALLY DONE!

I promise this is the last post about the room makeover. I've been shared a few because I'm just so proud of myself by doing it all by myself. I've never really done something like this before. well, I did before she was born, but I had help.

This is my project, all on my own. No help by anyone. My bestie did stop by to watch me paint. Even if she offered to help, I would have said no. LOL!

Dresser drawer bought at an auction for $7. Trust me this drawer was awful looking before I painted it that lilac color. I swear it has layers upon layers of gross paint and had to strip it. Replaced all the knobs and it was all good to go.

Then I repainted it again when I did the makeover in my daughter's room. I wanted to do all white furnitures and instead of buying new ones that are up to your neck expensive, so I opted to paint instead. I would bet these cabinets we have are probably sturdier than the newer ones. I know her dresser is.

Now onto the desk. This was tough. It had the shiny shellac paint and stained pretty good. I had to use one of those sharp putty knife, the metal ones. That did the job scraping the top part, but I still had to sand the crap out of it.

I have to say it looked pretty good after a long process of scraping, sanding and wiping it all down. It only took me about 2 or 3 coats to finish the desk. Paired it with a pretty and comfy chair from Target and it's all set. Link for the DESK Makeover.

Overall this is what her room looks like after it was all done. She has the biggest room in the house with the huge walk in closet, but that's another story :-)

As you can see, the bed is the only one that isn't painted white. The reason is:

1. I was pooped and didn't want to sand paper the crazy post.

2. It would have been a pain in the butt to scrape and sand it.

3. I thought I was going to buy her a new white bed, but she prefer this one.

Last, but not the least.

The DOOR.

I wanted something colorful in our hallway and something to add color to her room. So, I decided to paint it with chalkboard paint. Love it, love it, love it!!!
