Shopping

Today "Little Miss" and I went shopping for a boy and a girl that we picked their wish cards off of the Salvation Army tree. I love that my family is able to do this and I'm even more proud that my daughter enjoyed the experience and helping to buy for the "angels".

My View Today

Doll Parts

These are the parts of a doll that I crocheted for my youngest niece...

...and here's a photo I took of my doll!

Let's Dance

2012-05-22T19:27:00.000-05:00

This past Saturday, "little miss" performed in the Dance Arts recital. I'm always amazed by her. I boo-hooed through her ballet dance as she sung along with the song. I smiled and my heart swelled with pride as she tapped her way through "I'm a Little Teapot". I laughed as she boogied her way through her pom-pom dance; she had some moves and the attitude to go along. I'm one proud Mama, as usual!

Here is a photo I took of the key cast from the recital. They did Alice in Wonderland.

Sittin' On The Dock Of The Bay

2012-04-24T22:54:00.003-05:00

As a child, my aunt and uncle took me and my cousins camping every summer at a nearby lake. I have wonderful memories from those camping trips, precious ones in fact, that inlude a special cousin that died way to young. I miss him dearly. I miss being a kid and getting so excited about a weekend at the lake that it made my stomach hurt. I pray that my daughter has memories similar to this to last her a lifetime. Anyway, here in the Panhandle, we have been in a drought...a bad drought. This lake looks nothing today like it does in my memories and I'm afraid it may not be around much longer. These photos are of the boat docks near the beach where we camped every summer. I remember sitting on these docks with a lantern at night, trying to catch the minnows that darted in and out of the algae. These docks now rest about 300 yards from the water's edge. It's really very sad.

Of course "Little Miss" doesn't seem to be having any trouble making memories of her own here.

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

2011-12-01T21:36:00.003-06:00

"Little Miss" is getting really excited about Christmas, and that's rubbing off on me.

I think all the excitement might be making her a little crazy too! ;)

Do we know how to party, or what?

"Little Miss" couldn't decide what she wanted to be this year, so she was 3 different things.

Princess

2011-10-26T23:11:00.001-05:00

"Little Miss" had her Nursery Rhyme Party at preschool today. It was so sweet. She's such a beauty!

You are my princess

You make me smile

You make my life seem worthwhile

Monster Mash

"Little Miss" and I created this Halloween tree yesterday.

Here are some closeups of the candymen we made and I bought some of those super cheap plastic bat rings, glittered them up, and glued them to our branches where "Little Miss" hung the candymen.

Here is the Dracu-lantern that "Little Miss" made with her cousins and Koko. Cute, huh?

Out of Touch

2011-10-03T23:18:00.000-05:00

I'm so very sorry that it's been so long since I've blogged. I know how terribly upset all 8 of you must've been. LOL! Anyway, we moved which consumed me for quite a while. I think we're pretty much settled now so hopefully I'll keep up with my blog again. :)

We have a small vegetable garden at our new home. "Little Miss" is thouroughly enjoying helping me keep up with it.

And last, but not least...meet Aggie, the new family pet!

Through the Years

2011-08-07T21:18:00.000-05:00

I'm celebrating two things today...
1) My husband and I got married 12 years ago
2) We sold our house.

I was presented with a beautiful bouquet of flowers and breakfast this morning. My hunky husband also bought "Little Miss" her very own bouquet of brightly colored daisies sprayed with glitter. Then tonight he took me and "Little Miss" out for dinner at one of our favorite restaurants.

Some dreams live on in time, forever
Those dreams, you want with all your heart
And I'll do whatever it takes
Follow through with the promise I made
Put it all on the line
What I hoped for at last would be mine
