The idea for this blog was for me to post simple stuff about me and whatever the hell else. The comic updates would continue when I get back to writing it but not here and neither will any of this.

I've decided that Tumblr is allot easier and simpler of a system for me to express some stuff and re post other people stuff I really like so other people will know that I like it. Obviously I can write stuff on Tumblr as well and I probably will do.

So in roughly two weeks time this blog shall dissapear as I feel like I'm not using it at all and it stares at me allot telling me to write in it but I don't.

Plus this will knock back an item on my list of things 'vivaladil'

DVD/Blu-Ray Update 11:

As you can tell by the title this is the eleventh videos in my collection update videos however the first to be numbered. I'm sick of doing them monthly since sometimes the content builds up a creates huge long videos. From now on I'm going to be trying to do an update every ten or close to titles and make sure I've watched 75% of them. Anyway enjoy.

Yesturday at 3.21PM I downloaded a firmware upgrade for my PS3 and read online that the PSN was back online in the U.S and it was a joyous moment, though nothing compared to the moment to come.

I finally knew that we was getting somewhere with this thing, I have an update and I knew within 24 hours they'd surley be turning the PSN back on in AUS. I went through-out my day as general but with a far more attentive to twitter on my phone. Waiting for some post about AUS or generally Europe coming back online.

5.10AM I read the tweet I had been waiting for 'We've restored services in AUS...' YES! Was the best and only explination. I turned on my PS3 straight away and changed my password straight away (it's required now) and then clicked sign in... For just over 3 miniutes I was starring at my TV screen at the 'Sigining In..' on the screen. Eyes fixtated and fingers ready I was just starting to lose hope when I looked down and my floor. Several seconds passed and then I looked back up to see my familar PS Plus logo followed by my Avatar and Friends logged in logo's all in the top right corner. Touble tacking and I realised what was happening, my baby has returned and I sure missed her.

We are going to be calling these little comic blog/updates issues because it just suits the theme, so yeah.

Hello all you people out there on the world wild web. In issue one i stated that I the comic book writer noob and my girlfriend are going to be attempting to create a comic book. WHOAH! Yes it's an amazing and really out there idea, I have no idea what I'm doing and neither does she.

Since issue one not allot has happended, I've written a little bit more in my attempted style of comic book writing and passed over three pages to my girlfriend. Before hand however a did little stick figure sketches from my writing as to how I think this stuff should look. Hannah then had to do the same and the idea was to compare to see if my writing was making sense at all in her head (noob comic writer remember) and it was, amazing I know. Out little drawings weren't spitting images but you could tell that my writing came through well the same on paper which is a good sign.

I will be getting back to writing some more on this but I'm also busy in my time writing movie reviews and doing videos on youtube. But this is shapping out to be a fun little project for me but also a fun little project me and my girlfriend can do together. I hope it shapes out to be half interesting to a single person in the world, that would make me happy enough.

Okay, so I watched it, I could last less than 24 hours. But I'm still not happy, for any TV, movie, book, whatever, c'mon give us a better world wind of this stuff. I know sometimes with different country's restrictions and stuff it can become hard but as a fan for anything this kind of stuff annoys you. I'm so glad that I didn't have to wait for 'The Deathly Hallows' to come here to Australia, IMAGINE THAT!

Doctor Who series six started last night in the UK and the USA and was a grooling experience to have to sit back and not want to search the Internet constantly for a download. For any non Doctor Who fan's just think about something that you really want to watch, but have to wait a week and dodge anything about it on the Internet. Yeah, it's a hard ask for isn't it?

So in reality I could be downloading the episode of the Internet right now, but I ain't, even after all my complaining, and you ask why? Well it's because I don't see why I should have to download a shoddy download with crappy image and sound quality and then not be able to watch it with me girlfriend (won't see her till Thursday).

I just really can't understand why Australia (and whatever other countries) didn't get it in a sooner/closer date to the airing in the UK. Just because we don't have an R18+ rating for games doesn't mean we (as a country) can't watch Doctor Who. Plus Australia is part of the Commonwealth, U.S.A ain't, so... You get my point.

I actually think I've already had the episode spoiled for me on one of my YouTube videos. Someone took the liberty of writing what happens or making up gibberish.

I ask, why is the world so cruel.

It's 6:15AM and I haven't slept all night because I've been writing, writing something I've never attempted before. It's a comic book! And I never released how struggling it was going to be.

This is more or less like a little side project me and my girlfriend Hannah have decided to do, attempt to create some kind of comic and it was all fun and games til I actually started writing it tonight. Worst thing is the decision I made when this idea came up, it was to turn something one of us had already written into the comic. Only now do I release how bad of an idea that was and how hard the thing I picked is. We came to agreement on a short story I wrote four (yes four) years ago. Simply because in my head I liked the way I pictured the main character.

Figuring turning something I created into a comic wouldn't be hard I sat down last night and drew a dodgy quick drawing (I'm no artist) of the character to get me going. I then opened up my preferred writing software and starred at the screen with the profound question of "How do you write a comic?"
Though I had some idea from reading interviews and things in comic magazines, when it came to hitting the buttons I was stumped.

Eventually after some hard and stern screen starring I began with the first page with a total of one panels coming along rather quickly. I then re-wrote everything I just wrote and then changed it back. This was due to a random attack of what I like to call 'oh my god what if someone, someone read's this' which I go through with everything. I changed it back to how it was after assuring myself this was for Hannah's eyes only and this is my first attempt, plus it's for some fun, settle down Dylan!

My next problem occurred with the mood. Here I was half asleep starring at a computer screen with the wind blowing outside trying to write something in the mind of a somewhat depressive soul. I put on 'Angus and Julia Stone' and settled back into my somewhat uncomfortable chair.

Two hours later I had wrote three pages with a total of eight panels and had decided it was all crap. Once again talking myself I calmed down and clicked ctrl z (undo) and saved. This also was about one tenth of the original short story I had in front of me. Knowing now I have somewhat of a challenge I had to have a moment of clarity, deciding if I do actually want to commit to this and the conclusion being yes.

So the plan is to continue the writing and draw my own writing with dodgy stick figures if necessary. Then when I see Hannah next get her to draw of my writing and compare. If it's any where near close I'll know I'm doing something write and will continue with whatever writing style I have picked up for this. If it's not ever close I think I might need more then a few drafts of this before it's final.

Right so if you are interested to see how someone who wants to make a comic turn out continue to watch this space and I'll post updates as they came and obviously the finished product if/when it get's done. I'll post this then text Hannah with 'Can't back down now!'

Oscars 2011

Oscars 2011 is coming up this month and strangely the Academy Awards are something i enjoy quite a bit. I did disagree with last years winner of best picture, but it's not about your choice winning, it's about enjoying the show.

By this I mean the actual show and not sitting down to comment on what the stars wear, i skip the hour pre-show "Red Carpet Spectacular" as I find it all a bit tacky, this isn't about fashion (unless it's best costume design I guess) but about celebration of the great work that teams put into creating there art.

2011 also has a rather good lineup for nominees with allot more range in the movies. Look at Toy Story 3 compared to something like Black Swan, Inception and True Grit.

Unfortunately here in Australia allot of the movies that are up for 'Best Picture' aren't released here until 2011 so something like True Grit or Black Swan might just end up on my short list for best picture from 2011. Such was the case with my Top Ten Movies Of 2010 list which included something like Up In The Air, which was a nominee for best picture 2009 at last years awards.

There's something about the 'fakeness' in character's in movie's that brings both a smile and a pain. Watching 'Strength and Honour' made me once again release the implemented characteristics in movies is so unbelievable, but makes me want to believe. 'Strength and Honour' though not a great movie did have a simple story. Man needs money for surgery for his dying child, man's willing to die for this. Such a simple plot and one that's been done before in many ways, but one that can always affect you. I didn't finish the movie asking question about it's storyline or characters but; where are people like that in my world?

You may think you have great friends and family and maybe you do, but do they possess the simply personality traits that make them a good person? A celebrity can donate a million of there million's of dollars to a donation box but does this make them a great person? Maybe, maybe not.

I'd appreciate a "sorry" when someone bumps me on the street and that's a start. Such a simple an easy thing that you I assume you will notice next time you're walking around town or somewhere else.

The 'celebrity' has donated a million dollars to a cancer research fund or something and I've done nothing of the sort. Who's the better person and why? In a world where top entertainment comes from a new type of perversion of reality TV and magazines why can't a personality trait be faked and one such as 'humanity.'

Going back to the original two question let us answer them.

1.Where are people like that in my world?

They are there and to doubt humanity like that this is a horrible thing, but in my case it does happen on occasion. Though it's possible I spend to much time invested in the idea of 'my world' to notice 'the world'

2...But do they possess the simply personality traits that make them a good person?
Why not? Not every one's perfect, anyone that seems perfect is a fake and thus are probably the same characteristics as the 'celebrity' type. And don't expect you're friend to be showing his full self, shine a light on him, bring him out of the dark, ask the questions and get the answers.

Christmas Time 2010

Christmas! A time for many things and one to get fat! I find that last comment to be rather odd seeing as it's summer in Australia when it's Christmas time so you'll hear all the girls saying they want to get skinny and a tan... But in America get FAT! :)

I actually find myself no where near as spirited in Christmas time as i was the last few years. The most I've done so fare (and it's the 15th already) is put up a Christmas Tree, make a Gingerbread House and watch one Christmas Movie. In previous years I would have watched 15 Christmas movies by now and put more effort in celerbrations. Not only that but i find the mood for Christmas everywhere is dull, no one is spirited no one's doing anything, everyone just act's like it's another month and i find this a shame. I felt dissapointed just last night where i decided I wanted to watch a Michael Hanke film rather than a dogy Christmas one.

In previous year's i have also celerbrated by doing several Youtube video in celebratory fashion and also a sad one. Going back to watch them was a treat, I remember being really proud of my work on my "Elves Christmas Eve" video and watching it now is still fun and funny.

The idea of a Christmas party crossed my mind (I've never done one) but i know with any crowd it would just turn into any old party and not a nice relaxing and fun atmospher.

I'm in the baking mood this year though so on my list in the next ten days is cookes and truffels and hopefully I'll get one or the other done.

Things become cooler when they entwine with other cool things, why is that you think peanut and jelly is so dang cool? My recent experience with cool things becoming cooler was when i found out Edgar Wright had directed a music video for Mint Royal starring Noel Fielding. All of a sudden Mint Royal are back on my I-pod because of Blue Song (Google it.)
I began to thing just about anything being joined together would suddenly become like a mystical beast falling from Mount Cool Sun-Ray and make my days more enjoyable, though I soon realized that some things don't work. With some simple math’s you yourself can figure what to experiment and join in mystical madness, it's rather simple sir.

Good Thing + Good Thing = Awesome Thing
Good Thing + Even Thing = Odds
Bad Thing + Bad Thing = Why Would You?

Examples are as follows;
By combining a cool song with fonzeyness level of cool people it created an 'Awesome Thing.'
However another example I have comes from turning eighteen last month. I loved to play blackjack before I was eighteen but combining the fun of it with actually gambling makes for 'Odds'... Spoz that's why it's called 'Gambling' though hey?
Another example that maybe would make more sense would be taking a good atmosphere and chucking some bad vibe dancers in, 'Odds' are they'll bring all the good atmosphere down, maybe not?
Adolph Hitler being born was a 'Bad Thing' giving him lead over a country was another 'Bad Thing' and then I beg the question 'Why Would You?'

The Three Dimwited Exscuses

I've come to the conclusion that i need a bigger bedroom or a house of my own. Not only am i running out of room for my DVD's but now I'm also nearly running out of room for my book.
I've managed to move somethings around to provide more space for DVD's but who knowś what I'll do when i need the room for more books.

I blame all of this upon Ned Kelly, Video Ezy and possibly my ´give it to me now!´ brain. I shall tell you why in short and brief and any questions can be asked latter.

You could say being un-prepared was the cause of the sudden moving and shaking in my room today and it very well could be. I myself don't blame it upon my ability to realize there is no room left upon my DVD shelf but the cheap price upon the DVD i never planned to see, but did.

Around 4:15 today i arrived at my local Video Ezy store to return two DVD's i had rented the previous day and i saw that Robin Hood was in store. Not planning to rent it that day or anything i went and looked at the Blu-Ray in curiousness to see what special features would be on the Blu-Ray and not on the DVD. I found my answer well but what did i see under the DVD copy of Robin Hood? A rent this get this movie $5 sign, and what was the movie? Ned Kelly.

Going back a little; i hadn´t ever actually scene Ned Kelly, but was a fan of the story and have read many books. The Ned Kelly movie in question is the Heath Ledger one and i don't care what i heard about it being a bit dodgy.

My brain rushed into thought about what to do, the DVD was usually $20 (so said the sticker) and it was here for $5! But i had to rent Robin Hood and that was extra money.

Going back a little; i had planned upon watching Robin Hood sometime maybe upon the weekend but wasn't really interested in it. I was only planning to watch it for the purpose of reviewing it for my site.

As you can probably guess by know i did rent Robin Hood and get the Ned Kelly DVD. Thus bringing the story full circle, I've made the ruckus's in my room all thanks to one of the three reasons listed at the start of this tale. If you're asking for a moral i do have one; never trust a man in tights.

Dissapointing

I have been making videos for Youtube for roughly four years now and seeing my camera coming to the end of it's life is... Dissapoint to say the least.

Filming a video today it was making more un-authadox noises than usualy, (it's been slowley dying for like four months now) creaking and croaking like it was some kind of animal and me pressing that little red button was pulling it's heart out. As some would know I'm un-emplyed (seeking work, give me a job please) and if this thing breaks I'll be rather, actually very pissed off. It's a hobby and an addiction and un-like most vlogger i can admit i do like the atention i get, either negative or bad. I like to spread my oppinion on different topics and clear my thoughts on things online, it's like a stressball this wonderous thing we have called internet. People do it many ways, most resolving for a simple messure of a blog or a status update on twitter or facebook.

Hopefully it last out til i have some cash in my pocket, if not R.I.P

A Downloadable Future

Sony has recently released detail with Tohoko University that they have created a more or less upgraded version of the blu-ray discs. Twenty five times larger capacity for a total of 1TB on one single disc, amazing to think about but what does this hold for us in the furture?

It´ĺl still be years before we see this technology being put to use but when it does what will it actually mean? Seeing as the way downloadable content is going at the moment what´ll a disc actually hold in the future for us. In a future where simply clicking a few buttons to download a game, download an album, tv show or movie what´ll a disc mean for us?

I'm personally hoping both can co-incite as i like downloadable medium for different things, but not for everything. Being to rent a movie over night is a nice idea but if i want to buy the movie, i want to be able to get the blu-ray or DVD, the collectors editions and such.

We´ve actually came a way with game i think, i used to have to buy a playstation magazine for $15 to get some demos for upcoming games, now i can simply download a demo of PSN. Its a simple step in the future but it wasn't for the bad.

Company's assumingly like the idea of everyone downloading games of there specific network as they get all the money and no moneys spent on packaging, manuals and such. It´ll also get rid of people selling there games of second hand, where company´s will lose money.

But imagine all those times you´ve gone into a DVD store and brought a DVD you really wanted, a special edition with a cool case. The time you pre-ordered a game at EB games to come in an collect it, all new with a cool figurine of the game character. The feelings will be missing in a world completely ruled with download only medium, can we work together please? I like my fuzzy feeling.

Prime Vote 2010

I don't know if you've been talking to anyone about the upcoming election in Australia but one thing Ive noticed is the thinking behind peoples choices and even mine for voting.

You'll get the ¨professionals¨ mostly, the people that think they know the two opposing leaders personally and can tell you that they know which one will run the country better and why. In reality they have know idea and these people are usually the same people that¨ll believe anything they read in a gossip magazine. Then again you'll get the tricky types with that sort, they'll make this argument and for example say Bob believes everything he reads in Women´s Weekly, and then give you a ¨fact¨ he read in Entertainment Weekly, its sad to see people live in there on imagination.

Obviously you'll get the i don't cares, this is the biggest majority of people I'm sure and they'll usually argue that both parties are filthy liars so what difference will it make. Fine by me, its not a deep fully thoughtful argument but at least you just don't care in general for no reason.

With Julia Gillard now leading an end in this rope pull race I´ve actually come across something i didn't expect in this election, sexist. Not wanting to vote simply because a women is in charge of the reins is a terrible thing to still be happening in this day and age, but the thoughts are out there and until hearing it i never thought to think that people out there might actually account this into their vote.

I´m personally on a simple minded side, what does one ¨promise¨ to give me that the other doesn't? The National Broadband Network, what is you´re voting personality?

Melbourne Trip

My Melbourne trip started on 26th of June when me and Hannah caught the 9.00am plane over from Launceston. Upon arriving i knew i wasn't in familiar territory, it wasnt quite any where and peoples manners where dropped over the ocean. The amount of times i apologised when i accidental bumped into someone compared to how many said it to me would be something like 3-60.

Out hotel was right next to EB games which made have a nerd jizz.

After unloading in the hotel we headed on over to federation square to go get out tickets for the Tim Burton Exhibition. This turned into not just getting them but going in and seeing it there and then due to the 40 minute line up to get inside. You can check out my article on the expo by clicking here.

The rest of the day was spent shopping, i got some games, anime, book and Cd's, not bad.

We headed of to the airport at 11.20 for our plane that leaves at 3.20. Thinking we'd have to line up for ages to get out tickets, wrong, there was a simple machine to use. Had lunch and boared the plane. This may sound short and simple but it was, i spent most the time thinking about how i couldn't handle living here for more than a week.

Kevin Rudd the Prime Minister of Australia was kicked from is position today and Julia Gillard has taken his position. This strange and sudden change in chairs is a monumental moment in Australian political history, Gillard is now the first female Prime Minister and Rudd was the first to be kicked in his first year as P.M.

These events are as I see a showcase of the maturity and loyalty level the people running out country have. Stabbing your leader in the back is a terrible thing today especially when the whole country watches you do so. I hate to use such a weird example like this but would you have ever seen a pirate questioning their leader when he said where gonna blow up these peoples boats and rob them? No.
The point is when in a position like all those that turned against Rudd you don't question his leadership, you can talk to him but you don't turn against your leader.
The lack of loyalty shown is not a good image the Australian public will receive, if there is no loyalty in the party how can Australia trust these people if they cant sort them selves out?
Kevin Rudd wasn't a great P.M but ill give him this, he took today's events very well and handled himself in a very professional manner.

I´m now to believe that our country is being by a bunch of children unable to talk about any disputes, like a dodgy couple, Rudd and Gillard broke. The Australian government has shown its true colours to me today and I, like many other I´m sure am not impressed.

Tasmania- Fast Internet

I woke up this morning and looked at the paper that i never read, except when the odd piece of interesting thing on the front cover grabs my intrest, like this morning. The front page told me on page three I´d find an article on the new fiberoptic cables planning to be installed throughout Tasmania to increase internet speed to a 100mb a second (or some un-beliveable number.)

As I´m sure i wouldnt be the only person jealous that Japan and even America have such good internet speed and plan set ups, Australias is crap. Services like the PSN download and rent of movies is useless, it´ll take you hours to download the thing and then you´ĺl have used up all your internet download limit. Point is that with the promise of faster internet and better plan and services, Australia might finale be able to take part in some of the more exciting and ever evolving technoledgy that going on around us.

But as i turn to page three i search for an article i deem imposible to find, untile i realise it was stuck next to some stupid article about motorbikes (who´s the editor of this paper?) I start at the bottom of the article (as any normal person would do) and see i sentence that says something along the lines of ¨will be starting as of July 1st¨ and respond with ¨holy shit! Where getting fast internet that soon?!¨ Little did i releasie that my incopitent ability to not only find this article but also fail to start at the top of the article had impaired the whole story and my mind, i was floating on my own joy for about ten seconds. Middle way though the article i spotted a sentence that stated that its being tested in three shitberge small towns in Tasmania first, my joy lowered me back to the ground.

The moral of this story is to pay attention to whats going on in your island more, read an article from the top and to move to Japan.

Both of my Ning ran websites shall be closing down in the new future due to them starting to charge for there websites services.
I shall be setting up bass here back on my Blogger page and working out something similar Dylan reviews.
I'm rather dissapointed to have to go through and do all this when both my sites were doing what i wanted and was organised well for myself and readers.

I don't usually get into politics all that much because i think politicians are douches, prime example here.
This is a video about a game someone made to get awerness about whats going in Australian with us not getting a R18+ rating for games. Now the guy behind all this is trying to ban 1000+ websites also along with other crap.

Anyone that has ever scribbled a tale on a page for themselves and themselves only will know that its a satisfying and healthy habit. Same can be said for blogs, people that write for an audience of none or one.
So i ponder why? Why bother putting that pen on pad? Why bother put those fingers on the keyboard? I say because someone will view it, you! And if you're happy doing that, what you do, do it. I write reviews and this blog for an audience of none. I think itś good to do so and will be good to look at sometime in the future. So to the unknown soul i write this for, there you go.

Welcome and Hello to the year 2010, a new decade and a new year.

I hope everyone had a nice new years and christmas and I hope your new years party didn't go on a 3 day bender like mine did.

What do i have planned for 2010? No idea really. I'm going to be doing Vivaladil's Movie awards and also posting up the Top 5 most viewed videos of mine from 2009 for a start and then I'm proberly going to die down until i come up with some kind of new seris or something for this year.
