According to Simmons Report: AGLOCO I would earn 172 x $30 = $5,160 worth of shares.

Imagine that you could earn commissions on a popular brand-name product just by placing a link on your website or in your email. That, my friends, is "Affiliate Marketing"!

OK... So it's not quite that simple, but it doesn't have to be much more complicated either.

Let's start with a few definitions. An advertiser, or merchant, is the company who is selling a product. An affiliate, sometimes referred to as a publisher or partner, is another person or company who assists in the promotion of the product and earns a commission for doing so. (That could be you!) In between is the account management service that partners the advertisers with the affiliates and keeps track of the sales and commissions.

If you want to become an affiliate, you first need to choose either a product you want to sell, or an account management service. You will end up with both, but the choice of one will determine the choice for the other. If you choose the product first, the advertiser will direct you to the account management service that they already work with. If you choose the account management service first, they will provide you with a list of merchants that they do business with.

To see if your favorite product or company offers an affiliate program, go to their website and check the menu bar or the bottom of the screen. Look around for the word "affiliate". Click on that link, read about their program and requirements, and fill out their application. Some companies require specific types of websites to place their links on. They will email you all you need to know to get started.

If you don't know what specific product you would like to promote, or if you want to promote several, I recommend browsing the participating merchants on the account management service's website.

Try to stick to products or ideas that you are familiar with and passionate about. It will be much easier to market to your visitors if you can add value to the link you want them to click on. Personal recommendations or stories will get way better results than just a banner or solo text link. Give them a reason to "click here".

When you think about affiliate marketing, what do you think of first? Which aspects of affiliate marketing are important, which are essential, and which ones can you take or leave? You be the judge.

Affiliate marketing is defined as a widespread method of promotion in which an affiliate (or associate) is rewarded for every view, sale, and/or registration produced through the affiliate's effort.

It's similar to collecting a finder's-fee or the commissions typical of retail store clerks. The more one sells... the more one gets paid.

Compensation calculations vary and could be based on any of the following:

PPC (pay-per-click) a specific amount is paid for each visit

PPL (pay-per-lead) where registration or sign-up counts

PPS (pay-per-sale) a specific commission per sale is paid

If your goal is to generate your total income online, you can drive traffic from your subscriber lists to affiliate links just as easily as to your own product links.

What About Product Sales and Marketing?

You'll want to watch for great products and services with the potential to benefit your niche and your mailing lists. To build trust and income, it's best to recommend only those products that will be of specific interest to them. It's a win-win situation for everyone that way.

When an affiliate is marketing any product, the cost of advertising the product is absorbed by the affiliate. It's important to keep this cost in mind when promoting products. The higher the percentage of affiliate income possible from any quality product, the more that product is worth promoting.

When a product is sold through the affiliate's link, depending on the service used, the total sale is divided up among the vendor or service, the affiliate, the taxing authority, the shipper (if any), and the payment processor.

The site is called the "Google mirror" as a parody of the term mirror in computing, which usually refers to a copy or backup of another website. Is This a Joke ?

Yes. elgooG is a parody site designed and hosted by All Too Flat, a parody and comedy Web site.

Although the site is intended as a joke, it has been maintained for several years and is periodically updated to reflect changes in the Google Web site. Search results in elgooG are pulled from the actual Google search engine.

2. Toogle - Toogle is a Text version of Google's Image Search. Currently it creates images out of the very term that was used to fetch those images, later we will endeavor to create images out of the search terms entered by users past and present. But for now please, go play.

1. GahooYoogle

GahooYoogle is a tool that allows you to use both search engines at the same time.

When you type in your related search words, GahooYoogle will give you the results from Google and Yahoo in a split screened frame. What this means, is that you can look at both search engine results at the same time to find out the best and most relevant search find. This is pretty interesting in the fact that you can more or less compare the different priorities of search results on both Google vs. Yahoo and based on your needs, you may be able to find the one you like the best. For example, I did a search on “Yahoo” and found that the Yahoo search engine displayed more of Yahoo’s products whereas Google’s results displayed more of Yahoo’s news on the front pages... more

2. GaHoOgle

This is basically a combined search of yahoo and google. Query entered in search box will be displayed in a split screen as shown below. It still has options for choosing other search engines for left side as well as right side of spit window. Other search engines are MSN and AskJeeves. One can easily compare the ability of these search engines. For example for the same search of "gahoogle", yahoo gave 87 result in 0.50 sec, where as google find 57 results in 0.10 sec. This search is made on 20th Feb, 2007.

Below is a Msn-Ask Jeeves results for the same search query.

1. GoogleWhack - The search for "The One"

This is a very interesting game which uses Google search engine. Googlewhack is a game to find two word combinations that result in only one
possible page in the Google search engine. This means one has to find a combination of two words which when entered in Google search, display only one single result.

For example, when we search for "chomskian bops", which is a combination of two words, produce a single result.

2. Gwigle

An educational puzzle game that helps you use Google more effectively.

It is a game that asks you to guess the query by looking at the first search results. Of course, the search terms are blurred. The game, created by a Google employee, is multi-level and if you think the first levels are too easy, wait for the queries from Image Search, Google Maps and Google Calculator. 3. World war on Google Map

This game can be played with 2 -25 other online players. Online players randomly receive a set of countries with troop hitpoints based on real world population data.To play: attack neutral and enemy countries in an effort to try to take over the world. You have a 20% chance of receiving more troops when you overtake an enemy country. More features to come! (currently in public beta status).

4. Montage-a-Google

Montage-a-Google is a simple web-based application that uses Google's image search to generate a large gridded montage of images based on keywords (search terms) entered by the user. Not only an interesting way of browsing the net, it can also be used to create desktop pictures or even posters (see examples below - more coming soon).

5. Google Image Labeler

Google Image Labeler, a new feature of Google Image Search that allows you to label random images to help improve the quality of Google's image search results.

How to play ?

You'll be randomly paired with a partner who's online and using the feature. Over a 90-second period, you and your partner will be shown the same set of images and asked to provide as many labels as possible to describe each image you see. When your label matches your partner's label, you'll earn some points and move on to the next image until time runs out. After time expires, you can explore the images you've seen and the websites where those images were found. And we'll show you the points you've earned throughout the session.

6. Guess-the-Google

An addictive little game related to Google's image search, on which you try to guess what the keyword was for the images displayed.

At the start of each round, a grid of 20 images will appear. All of these images match one keyword.

It's your goal to guess which word matches all these images. If you were doing an image search, what key word would you need to enter to get these images as a result ?

Type in the keyword you think is correct here and then click the GUESS button or press the ENTER key on your keyboard.
