HOW TO RECOVER PERMANENTLY DELETED FILES

Sometimes we delete our files permanently(CTRL+SHIFT+DEL), and then realize that deleting them is like a Blunder. For all those folks, Here is a solution Software called "Kissass Undelete(click to download)", that can bring those files from the hard disk or your flash drive.

NOTE: Only if the data on that drive is not re-occupied(or written). that means the space which was available after the deletion is not been occupied after the deletion.

PROCESS TO RECOVER:

To start searching for the files, Select the drive from the Left panel of the Windows and Click the scan button. The Scan might take upto 10 secs.

When the files search has been completed, it will show you the results with the name, typ, size and the last modified date of the searched file.

What is the confusion about RAM?

Most of the computer users do some research before upgrading their system so they exactly know about a perfectly matching CPU, motherboard and video card combination that will meet all their needs. But most of them fail when it comes to RAM. They just know the size of the RAM i.e. 1GB, 2GB or 4GB, but they don’t know what this DDR1, DDR2 or DDR3 is all about.

So that’s why I came up with a idiot’s guide for buying a RAM, because it turns out that selecting the proper DDR variant is a very important factor that determines how your overall system will perform, thus every computer user should be well-advised to learn it.

DDR1 Specifications

DDR-DIM (Double Data Rate DIMM or DDR DIMM), or most popularly just plain DDR. Double Data Rate interfaces provide two data transfers per differential clock. The data becomes registered when the CK goes high [the + side], and /CK goes low [the - side]. DDR1 utilizes the JEDEC standard for Double Date Rate [DDR I] SDRAM. Like all DDR RAM it is available as registered or un-buffered. Registered DIMMs are generally known as FB-DIMMs and have their address and control lines buffered in order to reduce signal loading. FB-DIMMs are considerably more expensive than un-buffered DIMMs and are generally reserved for server use. There are very few enthusiast/prosumer/gamers utilizing FB-DIMMs in their CPU’s. Un-buffered DIMMs don’t feature address lines and control line buffering, so they cost quite a bit less. However, they may be system-loading limited and are thus generally restricted in the number that can be fitted onto one system. You’ll find that most un-buffered DIMMs these days can only be installed on one motherboard to a maximum of 4 x 1GB. Buffered or registered DIMMs don’t have these limitations and server boards can accommodate 8 x 1GB, 16 x 1GB or more. An interesting and largely unknown aspect of un-buffered DDR DIMMs is that they are able to operate one clock cycle faster then FB-DIMMs.

DDR2 Specifications

DDR2 memory is the second generation in DDR memory. DDR2 begins with a speed level of 400MHz as the lowest available while the 400MHz speed is actually the highest speed for DDR1. Therefore, DDR2 picks up where DDR1 leaves off. It’s a bit strange but due to different latencies a 400MHz DDR1 will outperform a 400MHz DDR2, but the advantage returns to DDR2 as soon as the speed reaches the next step 532MHz, which DDR1 cannot reach.

DDR3 Specifications

DDR3 is the third generation in DDR memory. DDR3 begins with a lowest capacity level of 800Mbps and goes up to 1600Mbps with bus speed as high as 2000MHz. Higher performance with lower power consumption is the major benefit, since operating voltage is only 1.5V for DDR3 compared to 1.8V for DDR2. Lower heat is generated, which means that systems will run cooler. Ultimately the new technology will result in higher capacity modules: Up to 8GB modules (Using 4Gb Chips) to help lower server/workstation system costs.

Now it will be really hard to list down which RAM best fits which motherboard. Before buying the RAM you should research your CPU manufacturer’s RAM recommendations and fit that exact type of DDR in it. You would be just as foolish in using a PC3-12800 DDR3-1600 with an AMD Sempron 2800+ as you would be to burden down your Intel QX6800 with a PC1600 DDR-200. Every CPU/chipset combo has its proper DDR fit, and you should find out exactly what they are and stick to them. If you fir a slower than recommended DDR to your system will terminate critical RAM functions and could slow your system.

If you have a log in password for your account, this can be used to protect folders from other users. Your hard drive must be formatted using NTFS (which it probably is unless you're dual booting with another operating system). Here's what to do...

Right-click the folder that you want to make private and choose "Properties"
(or Alt+Double-click). Go to the "Sharing" tab and check the "Make this folder private" box.

Click Apply . If you do not have a password on your account, a box will pop up asking if you want to assign a password. This must be done if you want to make the folder private, so click Yes . You will need to use your password to log on to your computer from then on.
Type in a password then confirm it. Click the "Create Password" button then close the Password window. Click OK in the Properties dialog box. Now anyone else logged on to your computer can't access that file without knowing your password.

HOW TO ENABLE FOLDER OPTION AGAIN

Many times Windows users face a common problem. The “Folder Options” in “Tools” menu is not visible. Even It can’t be accessed from Control Panel. Also “Registry Editor” is disabled. Follow the simple steps mentioned in this tutorial and your problem will be solved:

If Folder Options is disabled but Registry Editor is still working in your system, then you can enable Folder Options by editing Windows Regist. Type regedit in RUN dialog box and press Enter. It will open Registry Editor, now go tofollowing keys:

HOW TO HIDE FILES AND FOLDERS USING COMMAND PROMPT

Trick to hide files and folders using Command Prompt

The most important thing is that, once hidden with this method, the files/folders cannot be viewed by any search options even if you click "Show All Hidden Files and Folders".

Hiding the most wanted files and folders is very important nowadays and it's really a tedious job too. In order to make this tedious job an easy one, i'm going to deliver you a the trick now.

For Example: You have a folder named "collegephotos" and this folder is stored in (Disk Drive E). You think that it should not be seen by strangers who use your PC.

For that you need to follow the following instructions

Press windowkey+R: Run command dialog box appears.
Now type "cmd" and hit enter. A command prompt window displays.
Now type "attrib +s +h E:\collegephotos" and hit enter.
The folder "collegephotos" will be hidden (Note: It cannot be viewed by any search options)

(To view this folder again, use the same command but replace '+' with '-' on both flags 's' and 'h')

HOW TO RECOVER CURRUPTED WINDOW'S XP

This teaches you to recovery our window xp when it says *.* file is missing or corrupt on booting.

You should have a Bootable window's xp CD with its key.

Start your computer and look for the file that is missing or corrupt. (say NTOSKRNL.EXE)

Eject the tray of your CD/DVD ROM, put CD into it and thenrestart the computer.

Now press any key to boot from cd and follow the instructions.

Press R for recovery console, when the below screen appears.

Now, you have to write some commands in command prompt.

Enter the serial no of window to be recovered. Here we have just 1window so we must use 1. After entering the no, press enter.

Write C:\WINDOWS\map to check the names of your CD/DVD DRIVE.

I'll use D for the proceess. You must use your drive name.

Now enter CD SYSTEM32.

Now enter DIR NTOSKRNL.EXE command. This shows the directory of our target file.

If every thing seems usual then del that file named NTOSKRNL.EXE by using DEL NTOSKRNL.EXE command. That will delete the corrupted file.

Come out of inner directories by entering CD.. command.

Now change the drive. Remember that CD/DVD RIVE name . Mine was D.

Now enter CD i386.

Now copy the ntoskrnl.exe into your c:\windows\system32 directory.

enter command copy ntoskrnl.ex_ c:\windows\system3\ntoskrnl1.exe.

Now restart your computer. Is your computer booting properly or not. If yes then you have suscesfully recovered your windows.

HOW TO REMOVE BOOTING PASSWORD

CAUTION

Always turn off the power and unplug the power cord from the computer before changing the jumper. Moving the jumper with the power on may result in unreliable computer operation. The location of the desktop board’s BIOS configuration jumper is shown in Figure.

This procedure assumes that the board is installed in the computer and the configuration jumper block is set to normal mode.

Turn off all peripheral devices connected to the computer. Turn off the computer. Disconnect the computer’s power cord from the AC power source (wall outlet or power adapter).

Remove the computer cover.

Find the configuration jumper block (see Figure).

Place the jumper on pins 2-3 as shown below.

Replace the cover, plug in the computer, turn on the computer, and allow it to boot.

The computer starts the Setup program. Setup displays the Maintenance menu.

Use the arrow keys to select Clear Passwords. Press and Setup displays a pop-up screen requesting that you confirm clearing the password.

Select Yes and press . Setup displays the maintenance menu again. Press to save the current values and exit Setup.

Turn off the computer. Disconnect the computer’s power cord from the AC power source. Remove the computer cover.

To restore normal operation, place the jumper on pins 1-2 as shown below.

Replace the cover, plug in the computer, and turn on the computer.

Jumper Settings for the BIOS Setup Program Modes (J9J4)

1] Normal (default) (1-2) The BIOS uses the current configuration and passwords for booting.

2] Configure (2-3) After the Power-On Self-Test (POST) runs, the BIOS displays the Maintenance Menu. Use this menu to clear passwords.

3] Recovery (None) The BIOS recovers data from a recovery diskette in the event of a failed BIOS update.

1.Installing the Desktop Board

WARNING

Only qualified technical personnel should do this procedure. Disconnect the computer from its

power source before performing the procedures described here. Failure to disconnect the power

before you open the computer can result in personal injury or equipment damage.

Figure shows the location of the 11 mounting holes for Desktop Board D865GBF(as we are

using Desktop Board D865GBF). Desktop Board D865GLC has eight mounting holes.

2.Installing a Processor

CAUTION

Before installing or removing the processor, make sure that AC power has been removed by

unplugging the power cord from the computer; the standby power LED should not be lit (see

Figure 2 on page 24). Failure to do so could damage the processor and the board.

a. Installing a Processor

To install a processor, follow these instructions:

1. Observe the precautions in "precautions-in-installing-and-replacing". (just click on skip

this add on the right-top corner to proceed.)

2. Locate the processor socket and raise the socket lever completely.

3. Install the processor so that the corner with the triangle marking (A) is aligned with the

corner where the lever is attached to the socket (see Figure 2.

4. Lower the lever to its original position.

b. Installing the Processor Fan Heat Sink

Desktop Board D865GBF/D865GLC has an integrated processor fan heat sink retention

mechanism (RM). For instructions on how to install the processor fan heat sink to the

integrated processor fan heat sink RM, refer to the boxed processor manual or the Intel

3.Connecting the Processor Fan Heat Sink Cable

Connect the processor fan heat sink cable to the processor fan connector (see Figure 3).

4.Installing Memory

CAUTION

To be fully compliant with all applicable Intel SDRAM memory specifications, the boards

require DIMMs that support the Serial Presence Detect (SPD) data structure. You can access

Desktop Board D865GBF/D865GLC has four dual channel 184-pin DIMM sockets arranged as

DIMM 0 and DIMM 1 in both Channel A and Channel B, as shown in Figure 4 (color was

added to the DIMM sockets to show how to match DIMMs for dual channel configuration).

5.Installing an AGP Card (if available)

CAUTION

When installing any AGP card in the desktop board, ensure that it is fully seated in the AGP

connector before you power on the system. If the card is not fully seated in the AGP connector,

an electrical short may result across the AGP connector pins. Depending on the over-current

protection of the power supply, certain board components and/or traces may be damaged.

The AGP connector supports 0.8 V (4x and 1x) and 1.5 V (8x) AGP cards. The desktop board

has an integrated AGP card retention mechanism (RM).

Follow these instructions to install an AGP card:

1. Observe the precautions in “precautions-in-installing-and-replacing”.

2. Place the card in the AGP connector.

3. Press down on the card until it is completely seated in the AGP connector and the card

retention notch snaps into place around the RM pin.

4. Secure the card’s metal bracket to the chassis back panel with a screw.

6.Connecting the IDE Cable

The two IDE cables support the Ultra DMA-33 and ATA-66/100 transfer protocols. Each of

the cables can connect two drives to the desktop board. Figure 6 shows the correct

installation of the cable.

NOTE

ATA-66/100 compatible cables are backward compatible with drives using slower IDE transfer

protocols. If an ATA-66/100 disk drive and a disk drive using any other IDE transfer protocol are

attached to the same cable, the maximum transfer rate between the drives may be reduced to that

of the slowest drive

NOTE

Do not connect an ATA device as a slave on the same IDE cable as an ATAPI master device. For

example, do not connect an ATA hard drive as a slave to an ATAPI CD-ROM drive.

For correct function of the cable:

• Observe the precautions in “precautions-in-installing-and-replacing”

• Attach the cable end with the single connector to the Intel desktop board (A).

• Attach the cable end with the two closely spaced connectors to the drives (B).

7.Connecting the Serial ATA Cable

The SATA cable (4-conductor) supports the Serial ATA protocol and connects a single drive

to the desktop board. Either end of the cable can be connected to the SATA drive or the

connector on the board (see Figure 7).

For correct cable function:

1. Observe the precaution in “precautions-in-installing-and-replacing”

2. Attach either cable end to the connector (A) on the board.

3. Attach either cable end to the connector (B) on the drive.

PRECAUTIONS IN INSTALLING AND REPLACING DESKTOP BOARDS

WARNINGS

The procedures in this chapter assume familiarity with the general terminology associated with personal computers and with the safety practices and regulatory compliance required for using and modifying electronic equipment.

Disconnect the computer from its power source and from any telecommunications links, networks, or modems before performing any of the procedures described in this chapter. Failure to disconnect power, telecommunications links, networks, or modems before you open the computer or perform any procedures can result in personal injury or equipment damage. Some circuitry on the board can continue to operate even though the front panel power button is off.

Follow these guidelines before you begin:

Always follow the steps in each procedure in the correct order.
Set up a log to record information about your computer, such as model, serial numbers, installed options, and configuration information.
Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can damage components. Perform the procedures described in this chapter only at an ESD workstation using an antistatic wrist strap and a conductive foam pad. If such a station is not available, you can provide some ESD protection by wearing an anti static wrist strap and attaching it to a metal part of the computer chassis.

Installation Precautions

When you install and test the Intel desktop board, observe all warnings and cautions in the installation instructions.

To avoid injury, be careful of:

Sharp pins on connectors
Sharp pins on printed circuit assemblies
Rough edges and sharp corners on the chassis
Hot components (like processors, voltage regulators, and heat sinks)
Damage to wires that could cause a short circuit

Observe all warnings and cautions that instruct you to refer computer servicing to qualified technical personnel.

Installation Instructions

CAUTION

Follow these guidelines to meet safety and regulatory requirements when installing this board assembly.

Read and adhere to all of these instructions and the instructions supplied with the chassis and associated modules. If the instructions for the chassis are inconsistent with these instructions or the instructions for associated modules, contact the supplier’s technical support to find out how you can ensure that your computer meets safety and regulatory requirements. If you do not follow these instructions and the instructions provided by chassis and module suppliers, you increase safety risk and the possibility of noncompliance with regional laws and regulations.

Ensure Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Compliance

Before computer integration, make sure that the power supply and other modules or peripherals, as applicable, have passed Class B EMC testing and are marked accordingly. In the installation instructions for the host chassis, power supply, and other modules pay close attention to the following:

Product certifications or lack of certifications
External I/O cable shielding and filtering
Mounting, grounding, and bonding requirements
Keying connectors when mating the wrong connectors could be hazardous

If the power supply and other modules or peripherals, as applicable, are not Class B EMC compliant before integration, then EMC testing is required on a representative sample of the newly completed computer.

Prevent Power Supply Overload

Do not overload the power supply output. To avoid overloading the power supply, make sure that the calculated total current loads of all the modules within the computer is less than the output current rating of each of the power supplies output circuits.

Place Battery Marking

There is insufficient space on this desktop board to provide instructions for replacing and disposing of the Lithium ion coin cell battery. For system safety certification, the following statement or equivalent statement is required to be permanently and legibly marked on the chassis near the battery.

CAUTION

Risk of explosion if the battery is replaced with an incorrect type. Batteries should be recycled where possible. Disposal of used batteries must be in accordance with local environmental regulations.

Use Only for Intended Applications

All Intel desktop boards are evaluated as Information Technology Equipment (I.T.E.) for use in personal computers for installation in homes, offices, schools, computer rooms, and similar locations. The suitability of this product for other applications or environments, such as medical, industrial, alarm systems, test equipment, etc. may require further evaluation.
