The 3GiPhone is an Internet-enabled multimedia mobile phone designed and marketed by Apple Inc. It has a multi-touch screen with virtual keyboard and buttons, but a minimal amount of hardware input. The iPhone's functions include those of a camera phone and portable media player (iPod) in addition to text messaging and visual voicemail. It also offers Internet services including e-mail, web browsing, and local Wi-Fi connectivity.

3G (or 3-G) is short for third-generation wireless telephone technology. 3G technologies enable network operators to offer users a wider range of more advanced services while achieving greater network capacity through improved spectral efficiency. Services include wide-area wireless voice telephony, video calls, and broadband wireless data, all in a mobile environment. Additional features also include HSPA data transmission capabilities able to deliver speeds up to 14.4Mbit/s on the downlink and 5.8Mbit/s on the uplink.

The 3.5 in liquid crystal display (320×480 px at 160 ppi) HVGA touchscreen topped with optical-quality, scratch-resistant glass is specifically created for use with a finger, or multiple fingers for multi-touch sensing

Interface:
The iPhone user interface enables the user to move the content itself up or down by a touch-drag motion of the finger, much as one would freely slide or flick a playing card across a table with a finger. Zooming in and out of web pages and photos is accomplished by placing two fingers (e.g. thumb and forefinger) on the screen and spreading them farther apart or closer together, as if stretching or squeezing the image. Similarly, scrolling through a long list in a menu works as if the list is pasted on the outer surface of a wheel: the wheel can be "spun" by sliding a finger over the display from bottom to top (or vice versa). In either case, the list continues to move based on the flicking motion of the finger, slowly decelerating as if affected by friction. In this way, the interface simulates the physics of a real 3D object. There are other visual effects, such as horizontally sliding sub-selections and co-selections from right and left, vertically sliding system menus from the bottom (e.g. favorites, keyboard), and menus and widgets that turn around to allow settings to be configured on their back sides.

The built-in Bluetooth 2.x+EDR supports wireless earpieces, which requires the HSP profile.But notably does not support stereo audio (requires A2DP), laptop tethering (requires DUN and SPP).
Tethering Means:
Tethering in cellular wireless is the connection of a non-mobile device (e.g. desktop computer, notebook computer, laptop computer), to a mobile device (e.g. cell phone) PDA like Palm Treo, Motorola Q, BlackBerry or Air Card for the purpose of wireless Internet access by the non-mobile "tethered" device.
Examples of a tethered connection include:

PC Card (also known as PCMCIA)
IrDA (infrared wireless)
Bluetooth wireless
Does not support the OBEX file transfer protocol (requires FTP, GOEP, and OPP).

Some Drawbacks:

it does not yet have capabilities for delivery reports, instant messaging, MMS, or copy/cut/paste.Some of these functions are accessible via free Safari-based "applications" called "Web Apps",

does not contain any external memory card slots for expanded storage.

iPhone OS:

It is based on a variant of the same basic Mach kernel .The operating system takes up considerably less than half a GB of the device's total 8 GB or 16 GB storage. It will be capable of supporting bundled and future applications from Apple. iPhone OS includes the software component "Core Animation" from Mac OS X v10.5 which, together with the PowerVR MBX 3D hardware, is responsible for the smooth animations used in its user interface.

Applications/iPhone SDK:

There are several applications located on the "Home" screen: Text (SMS messaging), Calendar, Photos, Camera, YouTube, Stocks, Maps (Google Maps), Weather, Clock, Calculator, Notes, Settings, and iTunes (store). Four other applications, docked at the base of the screen, delineate the iPhone's main purposes: Phone, Mail, Safari, and iPod.

The iPhone also features an e-mail program that supports HTML e-mail, which enables the user to embed photos in an e-mail message. PDF, Word, and Excel attachments to mail messages can be viewed on the phone. Yahoo! and Google's Gmail currently offer a free Push-IMAP e-mail service, IMAP and POP3 mail standards are also supported, including Microsoft Exchange and Kerio MailServer.

This is currently accomplished by opening up IMAP on the Exchange server; The iPhone will sync e-mail account settings over from Apple's own Mail application, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Entourage, or manually configured using the device's Settings tool. With the correct settings, the e-mail program can check almost any IMAP or POP3 account.

Text messages are presented chronologically in a mailbox format similar to Mail, which places all text from recipients together with replies. Text messages are displayed in speech bubbles (similar to iChat) under each recipient's name. The iPhone currently has built-in support for e-mail message forwarding, drafts, and direct internal camera-to-e-mail picture sending.

A SIM lock, Simlock or Network lock, not to be confused with PIN or PUK code, is a capability built-in to GSM phones by mobile phone manufacturers.
Network providers use this capability to restrict the use of these phones to specific countries and network providers. Currently, phones can be locked to accept only SIM cards from one or more of the following:

Countries (the phone will work in one country, but not another)
Network/Service providers (e.g. AT&T Mobility, T-Mobile, Vodafone, etc.)

Thermal Design Power/TDP:

A useful term to understand thatis it represents the maximum amount of power the cooling system in a computer is required to dissipate.

For example, a laptop's CPU cooling system may be designed for a 20 W TDP, which means that it can dissipate 20 watts of heat without exceeding the maximum junction temperature for the chip.It’s not like it will always dissipate that amount of wattage, but, generally, if you want a cooler processor, go for the lowest TDP you can get.

Front Side Bus (FSB):

the Front Side Bus is the data transfer bus that carries information between the CPU and the northbridge of the Motherboard.Bus speed determines how fast the processor talks to the rest of the computer.
Notice that many manufacturers today publish the speed of the FSB in megatransfers per second (MT/s),not the FSB clock frequency in megahertz (MHz).This is because the actual speed is determined by how many transfers can be performed each clock cycle as well as by the clock frequency.

For example, if a motherboard (or processor) has a FSB clocked at 200 MHz and performs 4 transfers per clock cycle, the FSB is rated at 800 MT/s.

Multi-level caches:
A CPU cache is a cache used by the central processing unit of a computer to reduce the average time to access memory.The cache is a smaller, faster memory which stores copies of the data from the most frequently used main memory locations.
Multi-level caches contains with small fast caches backed up by larger slower caches.so Multi-level caches generally operate by checking the smallest Level 1 (L1) cache first; if it hits,the processor proceeds at high speed. If the smaller cache misses, the next larger cache (L2) is checked, and so on, before external memory is checked.

Finaly my conclusion

Celeron-M:This low-cost processor has speeds up to 1.5GHz.People looking to email, surf the Internet, and use word processing applications will be fine with the Celeron-M. It replaced the Pentium III-M in the low-end laptop processor arena.

Pentium-M: Buy a battery-efficient(NEXT WE WILL DISCUSS LAPTOP BATTERY) Pentium-M, available in speeds up to 2.1GHz. The processor is part of Intel's Centrino Mobile Technology with built-in Wi-Fi.

Celeron: Intel's budget-oriented chip with speeds up to 2.5GHz. They run slightly slower than Pentiums but not as slow as pentium-M!

Pentium 4: Designed for desktops, Intel's Pentium 4 will appeal to multimedia enthusiasts. With speeds up to 3.33GHz, they tend to get hot and eat up battery life. If you intend to stay plugged in, they offer great performance.
